British Royals

Recommended Posts

Lainey's comment last week (I think - I was traveling and I'm all messed up AND behind on my gossip!) was that there won't be any problems between Harry & Eugenie as all the cousins get on well - but there could be conflict between Charles & Andrew as they most definitely have conflict....

Am now watching The Queen at 90 (I recorded it on The Smithsonian Channel - not sure who made the documentary or where else it might be shown) It's fabulous!! Interviews with many members of the royal family!

Prince Harry refuses prenup. Can he do that? Or does it not really matter because all the truly "royal" stuff is covered under british law and all that would be "personal" would be his personal wealth, eg trust from mom etc?

Although I personally found it "icky" to sign a prenup at age 27 before I got married, at age 45 (and still happily married, thank you) I firmly believe a prenup is a great idea. You're not really saying you don't think the marriage will last. You're saying that your mother's jewels or the family business or whatever need to stay in the family....

I think of prenups as insurance (I didn't have to sign one because hubby and I have been together since before he had any assets so all assets are both of ours, IMO). You don't get auto insurance because you think you're going to have an accident, or house insurance because you think your house will burn down, but in case it does happen you want to protect yourself. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

ETA: I'm also sure that as a Royal he has to have some sort of legal agreement about finances and such before marriage. Either he has a prenup or he has some other legal documents that do the same thing.

Either way, who cares? The perception that a woman is somehow less than a woman by virtue of being childless - whether by choice or design - really grinds my gears. :tantrum:

And from a royal perspective, they shouldn't care. Harry is 5th (soon to be 6th) in line, so....It's not like she has to procreate for the succession....

I guess Phillip. And can we revisit how shitty it is to make her parade around in high heels and full kit a few hours after giving birth. Love her or hate her, give the lady a break for at least 24 hours.

Congratulations to the couple. I wonder who this child will resemble. I see both parents in George, but I see more of Kate in him. Charlotte looks so much like Queen Elizabeth. I don't see much Kate in her, or William for that matter but she clearly favors his side of the family. I loved the dress Charlotte was wearing to meet her younger brother.

Is everyone watching the wedding?? http://www.laineygossip.com/prince-william-greets-meghan-markle-with-kiss-both-cheeks-at-event-in-london-and-intro-for-april-25-2018/49713

My husband is out of town (coming back that day) :-) So I get to watch however I want! (for Will & Kate's wedding, I got up super early and went to watch in the basement man cave with my cat ;-)

I think I might make scones. But I'll have to have coffee, not tea - I can only drink tea at night......

Last time, I watched while wearing a fascinator (and my jammies ;-) Not sure about this time - Megan isn't as traditional as Kate......

Since I can't really stream at home (limited data, though I suppose I could use it all up :-) I think BBCAmerica will be showing it? Not sure who else in the US....

It's a 7 am start for me, which is luckily very doable for me. I probably won't watch all of it but I'll catch some. I'd like to see her arrive, but even if I miss that I'm sure it'll appear online in seconds.

The Godmother

April 24, 2018

[Blind Gossip]

This actress is trying very hard to fit in with her soon-to-be new family. Maybe a little too hard.

She is having her friends spread the rumor that she might be named godmother to [her future brother-in-law’s] new baby. It’s not true. In fact, it’s not even a remote possibility! They hardly know her. However, she hopes that the rumor alone will make the public think that she has already become so close to them that they would consider her.
