How did you find ChitChat?

I find it boring. I am tired of snipes at Robin. Sick of the brothers fighting and neither Eli nor Mike I does anything for me.

I don't know if this has been covered, but has anyone read Iris Murdoch? This is the thing. My close friend is in my book club. she loves Iris and we are reading The Philosopher's Pupil for our next book. I absolutely hate it. I hate her writing, her characters, and the glacial plotting of this book. I keep hoping it will improve but it is so wordy. Anyone read this? Maybe it's me.

My book club read Grotesque by Natsuo Kirino. It has many levels, but it is very good. I also read Out by the same author. I liked it better.

Didn't Reese make a comment on how it was good for kids to be bullied and made fun of? Makes you wonder who is the better parent here.
-
I really don't get it. I have nothing against Natalie, but she hasn't had anything close to a hit in ages. She really cannot act, and yet she keeps getting these projects.
-
Rendition. Couldn't stay with it. There were too many holes in the plot.

I agree that Stop Loss was a good film. I am impressed that Ryan chooses some really good films. Flags of Our Fathers, Gosford Park (loved it).

I think we can also expect Jake & Reese cuddle pictures this week end!

I think with Reese it is all about control. She wants to be the one to have the last word on her relationship with Ryan. He's just not playing.

Does anyone read historicals?
boopster replied to madamecleo's topic in Comic Books & Literature Chatter
For I different era in historical fiction, has anyone read Anchee Min? I have read two of her books, Becoming Madame Mao and Empress Orchid, which is about the last Empress of China. I think she's a good writer. Her books focus on the roles of women in a male dominated society. Lots of intrigue. This is my first post here. I have enjoyed lurking and have picked up more titles for books to read than I probably ever will get too.
