    John Krasinski and Emily Blunt

Really? Gosh, I had the pleasure of having dinner with Ms. Blunt about a year ago. She was all one hoped her to be: beautiful, kind, funny, humble and was eating the less than gourmet food with gusto. She was filming and went back to it after the meal. All she did for makeup was to turn to the gal, say "no spinach?" as she smiled. She resumed filming without checking a mirror after that. Refreshing lack of vanity and a wonderful laugh. Sigh.

    Why won't they STFU?

I read in a biography written about her that she was sexually assaulted whilst a teenager by Kirk Douglas. It sounded as if this was not his first foray (or his last) in this behavior. Unforgivable.

Need light reading for book club

Two wonderful authors come to mind. If you have not read "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith, I recommend it. this novel, written in diary form, of an intriguing, eccentric English family who live in a 14th century castle in the English countryside. It has humor, joy and a charm of its own. Perhaps it is time to read or read Barbara Pym, sort of a 20th century Jane Austen. Her books, although also written about a small slice of English life, have wit and depth and wonderful writing.

    Social Network

Meanwhile, I saw a movie I loved and I think you would, too. No car crashes, explosions, vampires, special powers or ammunition but had a great script excellent acting, will remind you what you are happy and unhappy to miss about Boston - heck, the rating at RottenTomatoes is 97%! Go, see "Social Network" - it's wonderful and probably needs ticket sales as there will be no merchandising opportunities from it. Fit it into your schedule as soon as you can, chances are it'll be gone all too quickly.
