Kid Rock Returning to Georgia Waffle House for Benefit
By Brian Orloff Talk about a special warm-up gig. Kid Rock may be playing at Atlanta's Gwinnett Arena on March 11 – but before his performance, the rocker is returning to the Duluth, Ga., Waffle House where he was arrested for battery after a fight last October to greet fans and sign autographs for charity, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting. While the rocker (real name Robert James Ritchie) has pleaded not guilty to the charges, organizers say that Kid Rock's fight is the farthest thing from their mind. "For a while now, we've been working with Kid Rock's management to try and turn a negative into a positive," Pat Warner, a Waffle House rep, told the newspaper. "We're hoping to raise some money for a worthwhile charity." All proceeds from the event, which begins at 2 p.m., will benefit Nicholas House, a homeless shelter for families in DeKalb County. Organizers expect a heavy fan turnout – and local radio stations have been promoting Kid Rock's appearance. One rock station has auctioned off passes to the Waffle House event, as well as tickets to the concert that night and a backstage meet-and-greet. -------------------- Bobbyd - noun - Poster who's posts are labeled as Jerkish or Boorish. Kid Rock To Work with Run DMC Again
OK! Kid Rock is about to "walk this way" back to Run DMC. The Rock N Roll Jesus singer tells Fox's Good Day New York that he definitely has plans to collaborate with the famed hip-hop group again. "We've been talking about it," he says. Kid and Run DMC's musical relationship dates back to 1999 when they performed "Walk This Way" at the MTV Video Music Awards with Aerosmith. Since then, the two artists have gone on tour and even rang in 2008 together. Having been a lifelong fan, Kid says Run DMC has meant much more than a rap group for him. "For me, Run DMC was really the blues music of my day and age," the 37-year-old says. "When I really got older...I started to analyze music and break it down -- my love for blues music for jazz, R&B, which basically and put its finger on everything on popular culture until hip-hop came along. He continues, "When hip-hop came along, this has been the only other musical art form that we've seen that's touched everything in popular culture." For the full interview, tune into Good Day New York Friday morning. |

Kid Rock Assault Case Dismissed
By WENN Kid Rock has had a $25,000 lawsuit against him dropped, after a jury ruled the woman who accused the star of assault had no grounds to sue. Kelly Ann Kozlowski filed papers against the rocker last year, claiming he threw her into a snowdrift outside his Brandon Township, MI, recording studio in March after she had refused to spend the night with him. The 29-year-old old filed a police report against Rock - real name Robert James Ritchie - but no charges were ever brought. Richie subsequently countersued Kozlowski, claiming she embarrassed and defamed him in her statement to police, but the lawsuit was dropped in November after the star failed to show up for a court hearing. Now a seven-man jury has dismissed Kozlowski's own suit, dropping the case in court on Friday. And Richie's attorney William Horton reveals the star is delighted with the result. He says, "We're very pleased. We wish we wouldn't have had to be here in the first place, but we think the jury's decision was justified. We said all along that he was a lightning rod for a celebrity shakedown." |

Kid Rock Hospitalized for Dehydration
By Caris Davis Originally posted Saturday June 14, 2008 12:35 PM EDT Kid Rock was rushed to the hospital minutes before he was to head on stage Friday at a music festival in England, according to British press reports. Organizers of the Download Festival said the rocker, 37, had been hospitalized in Nottingham, which is 99 miles north of London. He was suffering from stomach cramps and dehydration, his spokesman told the music magazine NME. Rock had been due on the festival's main stage around 3.30 p.m. Friday, but an announcement came over the public-address system a few minutes before saying Rock was unwell. He had reportedly attended a late-night event at Central London's Whisky Mist nightclub that had continued into the early hours of June 13. The performer had stirred controversy in the U.K. earlier in the week after telling a black interviewer that he thought the confederate flag was "cool". Rock also revealed he's patched up his feud with Tommy Lee after punching the Mötley Crüe drummer at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2007. "We're friends," he told The Guardian. "We don't talk all the time but everything's good." And what about his relationship with his former wife of four months, Pamela Anderson (who is reportedly back together with Lee)? "If I see her, I say hello, but I kind of don't want to be on that scene." Rock says. "I touched the stove, it's f------ hot, I don't want to touch it any more." --- In a weird way, he actually has a lot of sense. |

Kid Rock to Judge: Don't Hold Me Against Me
Kid Rock's got a bad reputation and he knows it -- which is why he wants to put the kibosh on any mention of his previous bad behavior during his current court case. Rock filed documents in L.A. County Superior Court on Friday in connection to a lawsuit filed against him by three guys who claim Rock and six members of the Boo-Yaa Tribe beat the hell out of them at the Roosevelt Hotel back in 2006. In the documents, Rock -- real name Robert Ritchie -- asks that his "reputation as a 'tough guy' or 'thug' by means of his professional persona as 'Kid Rock'" not be used against him during the case. Rock also wants no mention of his "prior criminal arrest or misdemeanor convictions" during the case as well ... calling them irrelevant and prejudicial. We'll see how that goes. Kid Rock Appears In Court For Assault
Kid Rock appeared in a Los Angeles court on Friday facing assault charges. The singer, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, was accused of aiding in an attack on three men outside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in March 2008. The accusers - Michael Medlin, Jose Perez and Carlos Bonilla - filed a liability suit against Ritchie, the Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., the Roosevelt hotel and Lost Highway touring in March 2008, according to E! Online. The men alleged that the singer and his entourage kicked them and ordered that their cameras be taken away. Bonilla and Perez are celebrity photographers, though Medlin earns a living by selling celebrity autographs and photos to dealers. The men reportedly asked for Rock's autograph. Ritchie, who testified in his own defense, denied any wrongdoing and recounted that the scene was "chaotic". The plaintiffs are seeking $15 million (£9.9m) in damages from Rock and his associates.
