Jack Nicholson’s Clinton endorsement: Does it matter?
MSNBC

The two Hollywood heavies behind the conception and creation of the Jack Nicholson best-of clip job that serves as the actor’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton probably never imagined that the video would be viewed by more than a million people and be broadcast on the airwaves of nearly every major news outlet.

Since the video is fun for any Nicholson fan to watch regardless of one’s political preference, the video makes the case that a clever celebrity endorsement can definitely have a wide reach. However, it’s also raised (or perhaps, re-raised) the question: Does a celebrity endorsement really matter?

In an era where celebrities’ lives are so public, does a revelation about their favored candidate pack much punch? With any given A-lister, it’s possible to know what the inside of their home looks like, when they last had dinner at The Ivy and where they last vacationed. What’s one more detail about their life?

The yin to this celebrity-media yang can be found in Barack Obama’s less viral, less splashy but slightly more interesting cooperation with Us Weekly magazine.

Obama, who has also had his share of celeb video endorsements, cooperated with the magazine for a “Just Like Us” feature that showed Obama in a light usually reserved for Hollywood celebrities. The photo-driven feature showed Obama doing everyday things that voters can relate to, and even included a “bonus” photo of Obama, “Before Barack was famous,” at the age of 2 1/2 or 3, riding what “might have been my first tricycle,” according to a caption penned for Us by Obama. (It’s worth noting that Jann Wenner, who owns Us, has contributed to the Obama campaign).

To be fair, Clinton hasn't missed out on this opportunity: She previously took the celebrity seat at Us and poked fun at some of her more dubious fashion choices through the years. Who hasn't worn something they regret? Certainly Sen. Clinton has made some mistakes, and she's not afraid to point them out.

Nicholson Wants One Last Fling

Aging lothario JACK NICHOLSON is desperate to have one last sexual fling before he dies - despite already bedding more that 2,000 women.

The 71-year-old added the feat to a list of things he hopes to achieve following his role in upcoming movie The Bucket List.

In the movie, Nicholson plays an aging billionaire who makes a list of the things he wants to do before he passes away.

He says, "One last big romance to occur, that would be on my list. I’ve always loved women and they like me OK too."

JACK RELAX

WAS Jack Nicholson once into hookers? In her new memoir, "Undiscovered," Debra Winger recalls landing in Germany with Nicholson to promote their movie "Terms of Endearment," which won the Best Picture Oscar. "I had never been there and was relentlessly joking with Jack about how I, as a Jew, would be treated," she writes. "He finally told me to stop, that these paranoid fantasies had little to do with modern Germany and that I should relax and enjoy the trip - perhaps join him on his search for the perfect brothel." Nicholson's rep didn't respond to our call and e-mail.

Retired Womaniser Jack Nicholson
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack Nicholson says he is too old to seduce women.

The 71-year-old actor - who is notorious for his womanising ways - believes he has reached an age where it "doesn't look right" approaching young women in public.

He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It's not so nice when you are 71 and looking for some action. I feel uncomfortable doing it in the limelight - so from now on I'll do it when it's right. "Happily, when it comes to girls hitting on me, I'm not undernourished."
The Oscar winner - who features in Maxim magazine's Top Ten Living Legends of Sex list - has allegedly bedded 2,000 women and has six children by five different partners.

Earlier this year, the Hollywood legend claimed he needed to take Viagra pills to help him when he has a threesome.

He said: "I like to date a nice range of women each year, but I only use Viagra when I am with more than one."The 'Carnal Knowledge' actor previously claimed men are like dogs when it comes to sex because they forget about their lover an hour after being intimate with them.
He said: "We have more in common with a male dog than we do with a woman in this department.

"This may be male chauvinism in a certain context. But, baby, it's also science!"

Looks like the Sun's London readers were taking notes:

From Holy Moly mailout 4/30/09:

FROST/NICHOLSON

Strange-toothed actor Michael Sheen, star of 'The Damned United' and 'Frost/Nixon', told our mole an AMAZING tale recently of his time at RADA.

There was always a massive competition for the budding actors to see who could persuade the biggest stars to come to their final show. Michael discovered Jack Nicholson happened to be in London and with some intense blagging and big balls managed to get put through to his hotel room. Jack was surprised to get call from a little Welsh upstart trying to cajole him into coming to his show, but said (and you have to read this in Jack's voice):

"I admire your gall, kid, well done - however I'm only in the country for three more days and I still have a LOT of women to fuck."

Literally, the best celebrity on the fucking planet. No returns.

... And in other news, London prepares for a shortage of antibiotics! sleep.gif

Jack Nicholson Plans Sky Burial

Jack Nicholson
is considering being picked to death by vultures when he dies.

The 72-year-old actor has become fascinated with the traditional sky burials carried out by some Native Americans which involve the deceased's body being hung from a tree or wooden scaffold and being left for scavengers.

He told German TV channel Tele 5: "I've had several ideas. Once I thought it would be nice to be buried under a large statue that is at least ten metres high. Then I liked the nature of the Indians who haul their bodies up into the trees so that they are eaten by the birds."

Although Nicholson is undecided about the fate of his remains, one thing he is certain about is he does not want to be laid to rest in a coffin.

He said: "I will probably end up in a crematorium as I'm too claustrophobic for a coffin."

Even though he's been thinking about his funeral, Nicholson insists he isn't scared of death and feels as though he has achieved everything he wanted to in his life.

The Oscar winner - who starred in 'The Bucket List' with Morgan Freeman, about two terminally ill patients who escape from a cancer ward to fulfil their remaining life ambitions - said: "I remember a wonderful conversation I once had with my fellow actor John Gielgud. He said he had made a schedule with things he would like to do before he dies... travel the entire world, learn how to cook, but he found that nothing was as appealing as acting. I agreed with him."

Native Americans would have sky burials because they believe after death the souls of the dead lingered in the air and watched over the tribe until it was time for their soul to move on to the afterlife.

By raising the bodies up high the belief was the soul could exit its' mortal constraints faster.

Well, I guess there's really no use in donating his organs after what he's put them through.
