Naomi Campbell leaves court after allegedly hitting maid with crystal-encrusted Blackberry.
Smiling for the cameras, Naomi Campbell glided along a sidewalk shortly after allegedly bashing a crystal-encrusted BlackBerry against the head of her housekeeper.
"You f------ b----!" the cantankerous catwalker shrieked yesterday inside her Park Ave. penthouse apartment, accusing her maid, Ana Scolavino, of stealing a pair of $200 Chip & Pepper jeans, sources said.
Raging, Campbell cracked the BlackBerry against her housekeeper's head at 8 a.m. - and then demanded her staff tell cops the 42-year-old maid had hurt herself falling, sources said.
But the sinewy supermodel's servant alerted officials at Lenox Hill Hospital, and soon cops arrived at Campbell's $3.5 million apartment to haul her away.
Campbell, 35, insisted she had no idea what cops were talking about and showed them a flip-phone, not the BlackBerry, as supposed proof, sources said.
But the cops cuffed her - disappointing an Oprah Winfrey camera crew waiting to film her for a cooking segment.
Ever the diva, Campbell hid the handcuffs under a white fur poncho. Sources said she also asked to ride in her own car to the police stationhouse and then paused as her minions begged cops to let them fix her bangs before she was escorted outside. The requests were denied.
"\[She\] told her people to lie, to say the maid tripped and hit her head," a police source said. "Her staff is afraid of her - afraid she'll go off on them and they'll lose her paycheck."
Campbell - who has a history of allegedly beating and head-butting her help - was questioned for hours at the Manhattan North Precinct stationhouse.
Flanked by cops, she emerged at 4 p.m. in the same flowing poncho, black suede boots, dark sunglasses and baseball cap.
The perp-walk-turned-runway-shoot was captured by more than 100 photographers who had gathered to see the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
A source said the BlackBerry used in the attack was encased in a Swarovski crystal holder that featured several baubles. The BlackBerry was not recovered.
Campbell called the allegation that she attacked her housekeeper "completely untrue." "She is sadly mistaken if she thinks she can extract money from me by concocting lies by recycling old stories," the supermodel said in a statement. "I have asked my lawyer to look into filing both theft and extortion charges against her."
Campbell said she had questioned the housekeeper about missing items and fired her "for that and her erratic behavior."
Campbell was charged with assault and could face up to seven years in prison if convicted. During a brief court appearance last night, a judge denied the prosecution's request for $3,500 bail.
Judge Richard Weinberg issued an order of protection against Campbell and released her on her own recognizance. He also allowed her to keep her passport so she could leave today on a scheduled charity trip to South Africa with Nelson Mandela.
"Surrendering her passport would not only be unfair to her but unfair to the children of South Africa," her lawyer, David Breitbart, said.
Scolavino, of Brooklyn, got four stitches to close a gash on her head. Meanwhile, Campbell's ex-assistant, Amie Castaldo, 33, scoffed at the model's denials - saying she was attacked by Campbell in 2004. "She abuses people," Castaldo said. "Somebody has to stop her."

Isn't she one of the celebs who posed nude a few years ago for the PETA "Id rather go nude than wear fur" ads? That white poncho is no FAUX fur, that's for sure.

I hope she goes berserk in court and throws something at the judge. It would be hilarious...well...to me. I think if she had a film crew follow her around...that would be absolutely wonderful.
There would be people getting scratched and beaten and random people falling on the catwalk...greatest tv show EVER?
It'll never happen though.

Naomi Campbell and the bloody evidence
Access uncovers the alleged assault victim’s bloody apron and sweater
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is led into Manhattan criminal court Thursday, March 30 in New York. Campbell was charged with second-degree assault Thursday after allegedly bashing her housekeeper in the head with a phone in an altercation at her Park Avenue apartment, police said.
MSNBC.com
A day after Naomi Campbell was charged with assaulting her housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, the supermodel is saying it's all a case of “he said, she said.”
Naomi was charged for allegedly throwing her cell phone at the housekeeper after accusing the woman of stealing clothes when she couldn't find a pair of jeans she wanted to wear on “Oprah,” prosecutors said.
She was released on her own recognizance and allowed to keep her passport after her lawyer argued that her famous face would prevent her from fleeing.
“She is probably the most recognized and prominent model in the world,” defense attorney David Breitbart told a judge Thursday in Manhattan Criminal Court. “There is no place she could go and not be recognized.”
As for the evidence? Scolavino's attorney, Michael Block, showed Access a white apron and sweater covered in blood.
Block, who came out from Scolavino's Brooklyn apartment to tell us his client's side of the story, claims Scolavino, 42, was wearing the clothes at the time she was assaulted.
“Between 8 and 8:30 in the morning, Ms. Campbell was looking for a certain pair of jeans apparently and couldn't find them,” Block said. “She got very upset, and she wanted to know where the jeans were. The jeans were kept upstairs, and when my client attempted to explain this to her, Naomi got more and more angry”
“Apparently, it was verbally said, ‘You're discharged’ but then said, ‘Please, help me find the jeans,’” Block said. “They went back upstairs to look for the jeans. She began screaming again. My client said, ‘Look, I can't take this further abuse and I'm leaving.’ And she started walking away and that's when she was struck at the bottom of the steps with the phone. We believe a telephone.”
Naomi, wearing a white fur poncho, was arraigned on a charge of second-degree assault before Judge Richard Weinberg, who allowed Breitbart to enter a plea of not guilty on her behalf.
In a statement issued late Thursday, Naomi called the allegation that she hit or injured her housekeeper “completely untrue.” She said she had questioned Scolavino about missing items since she started working for the model more than two months ago.
“She is sadly mistaken if she thinks she can extract money from me by concocting lies by recycling old stories,” the supermodel said. “I have asked my lawyer to look into filing both theft and extortion charges against her.”
The housekeeper was treated at a hospital for a cut that required four staples, said Assistant District Attorney Elina Kreditor, who asked the judge to set bail at $3,500 and to order Naomi, who is British, to surrender her passport.
Breitbart called the request for $3,500 bail “an insult,” saying his client's Park Avenue apartment is worth more than $3 million and she earns "more than six figures on a regular basis."
He said Naomi needed her passport for a trip to South Africa next week to visit Nelson Mandela. He asked the judge for orders to keep the housekeeper away from Naomi's apartment.
The judge said Scolavino, would have to give up her key to the apartment and issued an order of protection against Naomi, telling her she could have no contact with the employee. He scheduled her next court appearance for June 27.
The assault took place at about 8:30 a.m. inside Naomi's apartment, according to a criminal complaint. The housekeeper was hit in the back of the head and was treated at Lenox Hill Hospital, it said.
A woman who answered the after-hours media relations number at the hospital said no one was available to comment and that she could not provide any information on Scolavino.
Naomi was taken into custody shortly after police responded to the hospital to investigate the reported attack.
Facing a familiar sea of cameras, Naomi exited a Manhattan police station shortly after 4 p.m. in a scene that was part runway, part perp walk. Scores of photographers, reporters and film crews had gathered to record her departure; she responded by flashing a quick smile.
In a statement, Naomi's spokesman said the supermodel was not responsible for any assault.
“We believe this is a case of retaliation, because Naomi had fired her housekeeper earlier this morning,” said the statement from J.R. Johnson. “We are confident the courts will see it the same way.”
This was not the first time the volatile supermodel, 35, was accused of reaching out and touching someone with a phone. In 2003, the supermodel was sued by a former administrative assistant who said Campbell had thrown a phone at her during a tantrum two years earlier.
In August 2004, in the same apartment, Naomi and her maid battled it out, with the worker claiming the supermodel slapped her across the face. Naomi accused maid Millicent Burton of instigating the fight.
Naomi was discovered at age 15 and launched a career that landed her in magazines worldwide — including the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Naomi's high-profile lifestyle has included appearances in music videos by George Michael and Jay-Z and a close friendship with Mandela.
The international modeling sensation has appeared in several films and dabbled in a musical career.
The mercurial Naomi has a reputation for angry outbursts and abusive behavior. She pleaded guilty in Toronto to an assault charge for beating another assistant while making a film in Canada in 1998.
She also battled a cocaine addiction before reportedly getting straight several years ago.

Keep it bloody quiet
Coverup! sez att'y for maid to Naomi
BY AUSTIN FENNER AND ADAM NICHOLS
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS
Hot-tempered diva Naomi Campbell tried to cover up her alleged hissy fit by keeping her blood-soaked maid away from the hospital, the victim's lawyer charged yesterday.
The super-rich catwalker tried to have Ana Scolavino treated by her personal doctor in an effort to keep the hired help from cops, according to attorney Michael Block.
"Naomi . . . tried to persuade her from going to the hospital or the police," he said.
"Naomi Campbell was obviously interested in her not going to the police or any place the police might be involved. . . . Ana realized she needed medical assistance and just wanted to get out of there."
Campbell is facing assault charges after allegedly hurling a crystal-encrusted BlackBerry at Scolavino's head.
The lawyer showed reporters Scolavino's work coat as he left her apartment yesterday, embroidered with Campbell's name and splattered with blood.
Campbell, 35, was arrested Thursday and accused of attacking the housekeeper, 42, because she couldn't immediately find a pair of $200 jeans.
Police said yesterday they recovered a cell phone from the model's Park Ave. apartment, though they couldn't confirm it was the device she allegedly threw. If convicted, Campbell could face up to seven years in prison.
But Block said his client, who was still suffering blurred vision yesterday, had yet to decide if Campbell would also face a personal-injury lawsuit.
"We will meet next week and we will talk about it," he said.
"This is not an attempt to extort money from Naomi Campbell. It's not an attempt to get attention. It's an attempt, frankly, to get some medical attention."
He said his client had been the victim of the short-fused diva's legendary verbal tirades several times during her three months on the job, but had not been physically attacked before Thursday.
Campbell, who denied the assault, accused the housekeeper of stealing from her. But Block, whose client is 5-feet-4 and about 150 pounds, ridiculed claims she would take the statuesque model's clothes.
"Based on what I've seen of Naomi Campbell, in terms of her height and how thin she is . . . there's no way in the world my client would be wearing her clothes," he said.
Campbell's lawyer David Breitbart said she was due to fly to South Africa last night to join former President Nelson Mandela in promoting a children's charity.
Courthouse sources yesterday said Campbell's celebrity status helped her avoid a night in jail - gliding from arrest to arraignment in only eight hours.
The average time this year has been 24.6 hours.
"The police don't want to be responsible if something happened to her while she was in custody," the source said.

Campbell 'Spat in Guard's Face'
Fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell has been embroiled in another assault wrangle after allegations she spat in the face of a security guard at a U2 concert in New York late last year. The 35-year-old was a guest of her ex-fiance, U2 bassist Adam Clayton at the Madison Square Garden gig when she also allegedly verbally attacked the bouncer, who asked her to get off a barrier separating the band and audience. A police witness tells the New York Daily News, "Campbell told him he was a f**king a**hole and spat in his face." Another source claims Campbell screamed, "Don't you know who I am!". The source adds, "She acted like the spoiled prima donna you read about." No police report was ever filed. The troubled catwalk queen already faces a possible seven years in jail for allegedly throwing a mobile phone at her assistant Ana Scolavino's head last week. She denies the charge.

O'DONNELL CHALLENGES CAMPBELL TO FIGHT
US comedian ROSIE O'DONNELL has challenged supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL to a fight, insisting the British beauty needs someone to "kick her a*s".
O'Donnell was horrified when the catwalk queen was charged with assault in New York City last month (31MAR06) after she allegedly beat her assistant with a mobile telephone.
And she plans to exert her own brand of justice on the fiery model. O'Donnell explains, "I just picture this cute little Mexican woman working saying, Excuse me Miss Campbell can I possibly get you... ' and Naomi going, 'Get away from me, bam bam bam!'
"To make matters worse she had that jewel-encrusted cell phone. That's got to score with the diamonds.

The thing is, the shelf life of a model is not a long time, and Naomi's time is drastically running out now. Some of the more mellow older models will still be hired far into the future because they're easy to work with. If you have an aggressive temper you're going to be quietly passed over in favour of someone else. But there are much younger models coming up all the time snapping up contracts and pushing older ones noses out. Expect more tantrums and outbursts in the future.

I think it goes with the territory. She'll probably still get work coming her way, but you could imagine people going in fear of her a lot more now she's actually drawn blood.

NAOMI IS A PSYCHO MONSTER
Georgina Dickinson
THE maid battered by out-of-control supermodel Naomi Campbell today speaks for the first time in graphic detail about the chilling attack that could send the catwalk queen to prison.
Battered housekeeper Ana Scolavino—left sobbing and covered in blood from a head wound—believes 35-year-old Campbell's violent rages could kill.
"She is so crazy you never know when she will hit out. Anything can send her into a frenzy," says Ana, spilling the beans about her three months of hell in Campbell's weird world.
She tells how the screaming supermodel HUMILIATED her and other staff daily before the terrifying attack in a row over a pair of jeans. And she reveals how the star's OBSESSION with staying thin—guzzling bizarre juice cocktails fuelled her furies.
Ana, 38, talks exclusively to the News of the World ahead of September's New York court case in which Campbell faces an indictment for assault. If found guilty she could get seven years.

But Ana believes it will take more than a spell behind bars to cure Naomi.
"There is not a single nice bone in Naomi's body. She is a psychotic monster. On the catwalk she might look beautiful—but apart from her face in person she is the ugliest person I have met.
"She needs serious psychological help before she hurts or even kills someone. I should know—I am lucky to be alive."

Screaming
Colombian-born Ana felt the backlash of Campbell's infamous temper from the moment she landed the £10-an-hour job at her New York penthouse at the turn of the year.
"Every day she was like a wild, caged animal ready to pounce on any victim, screaming and swearing at everyone," says Ana. Then two months into the job came the vicious attack. She said: "Naomi came home from Europe raging about the state of the house and that there were clothes everywhere. But that was typical Naomi. One minute she'd shout at you, ‘Don't dare touch my f****** clothes' then the next she was rampaging around screaming they'd not been put away.
"She pointed her finger in my face and told me I was ‘f****** useless' and a ‘f****** thief' who had stolen her jeans.
"Her face was all contorted like a mad witch. Oprah Winfrey was due to come round and as ever Naomi was blaming everyone else for her inability to cope.
"I offered to help her find the jeans and tidy up but this just enraged her more. When I went upstairs to look for them she followed me, screaming: ‘What the f*** are you doing?' That was it for me. "I turned round and in a calm voice told her I was quitting. She gave me this evil look I will never forget.
"My heart was pounding. I was terrified of what she was going to do next so I went to get down the stairs and out of there.
"The next thing I felt a searing pain in my head. Then her silver mobile phone fell next to me on the floor. I don't know if Naomi had thrown it at me or come up behind me and hit me with it.
"I put my hand to my head and felt blood pouring out. I knew I had to get out before she went for me again. It was then she charged down and tried to stop me. She put her arms round me and screamed that I had to stay.
"I kept saying, ‘Get off, Naomi, I am leaving.' Not once did she attempt to get something to stop the bleeding. Then a male friend of hers who was in the house came over and told her to get off. He kept saying, ‘Oh my God, Naomi, what have you done?'
"I told her to get out of my way so I could go to hospital but she begged me to see her private doctor, obviously so no one could see what she had done. It was then I dashed out."

At hospital Ana was given five stitches to the back of her head. She later made a statement to police.
Now Ana—who lives with her husband Lawrence, 47, in New York—believes she had a lucky escape. She reveals she was first on the receiving end of Campbell's temper the morning after she met her. "I'd arrived at 7.45am and was in the kitchen when she woke and screamed, ‘Ana, where is my f****** juice?'
"I had no idea what juice she was talking about so she stormed to the kitchen and told me every morning she would need me to mix the juice of two lemons, some paprika, cayenne pepper and water.
"It looked vile but apparently it helps keep you thin. She drank litres of the stuff and as far as I could see barely ate, which just made her even more irritable as she was starving all the time.
"There was always something which would set her off. If she was going away all her clothes had to be packed a certain way with tissue between each item.
"Once she screamed at another maid and sacked her after she put a pair of her jeans in the wrong case. We just spent our life walking on eggshells.
"In Naomi's world we were all, in her words, ‘f****** useless'."
Punched
Ana was just another in a long line of Campbell victims. In March 2005, the model was said to have slapped assistant Amanda Brack and beaten her around the head with a Blackberry handheld personal organiser. The star's spokesman Rob Shuter denied the incident ever took place.
In November 2004, we revealed how the model attacked her PA Amie Castaldo, 33, who had her lip bitten and was headbutted.
Italian actress Yvonne Scio, 37, has also claimed the model left her "covered in blood" after a spat at a Rome hotel. Yvonne claimed: "She punched me in the face. She was like Mike Tyson."
In 2001, PA Simone Craig claimed Naomi held her hostage in a hotel and hurled a phone at her. Campbell once appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss her temper which she blamed on being abandoned by her father before she was born.
The model has recently been spotted wearing a T-shirt with the logan ‘Naomi Campbell hit me — and I loved it'.
Ana says: "It sickens me she can even try to make a joke out of all the hurt and abuse she has inflicted on people.
"I hope she is finally punished properly for what she has done."
A spokesman for Naomi Campbell said: "We do not wish to make a comment."

NAOMI 'FRAUD' FRACAS
Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
YOU have to be either very brave or very foolish to take on the fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Step forward the anonymous shop assistant who refused to believe Naomi Campbell was who she said she was.
The Streatham-born supermodel apparently fled an upmarket department store in tears yesterday afternoon when the store assistant queried whether she really was the person whose name was on the credit card.
The bust-up happened when Naomi, 36, went into Peter Jones in London's Chelsea to pick out some luggage and canvas bags.
The multi-millionairess went to the till and handed over her credit card - only to be told: "I don't think you're Naomi Campbell". Our spy tells us: "At first Naomi thought the lady was joking and that she was on some show like MTV's Punk'd.
"After all, she's pretty distinctive and has always been recognised before. But it soon became apparent that the shop assistant was deadly serious.
"There's been a spate of card cloning and fraud in the area so all staff are taught to be vigilant. But in this case the assistant got it wrong".
Naomi protested - and other staff vouched that the statuesque customer was indeed the very famous Ms Campbell.
We're told: "The shop assistant thought that the card didn't look quite right and was adamant that they couldn't accept it.
A spokesman for Naomi said she felt she had been treated badly: "There were a lot of people in the store and the situation was humiliating. Naomi was shaking with anger."
Given the model's previous - she's presently awaiting trial for an alleged assault on former assistant Ana Scolavino - we have to say this shop worker is braver than us...
The source goes on: "To be fair, it's not surprising Naomi got riled - she was virtually accused of being an impostor. Some heated words were exchanged and it all looked like it was going to kick off.
"But before management could intervene Naomi stormed out of the shop vowing to never come back."

Naomi Campbell Sued By Another Employee
FRIDAY JULY 14, 2006 07:35AM EST
By Stephen M. Silverman
people.com
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, already facing court cases stemming from accusations that she assaulted two of her housekeepers, was sued on Thursday by a third employee who says the British-born beauty attacked her, Reuters reports.
In a one-page summons filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Campbell's former assistant Amanda Brack said she was subjected to a series of "verbal, physical and emotional attacks" by the model shortly after she was hired by her in February of 2005.
"On at least four occasions, Campbell assaulted and abused my client," Brack's lawyer, Gerald McCarthy, told Reuters in an interview, describing a series of tantrums by the supermodel.
In one instance, McCarthy said, Campbell struck Brack in the face with her Blackberry, slammed her against a wall and slapped her repeatedly across the face because a piece of her luggage got left behind during a trip to Brazil.
He said Campbell threw a cell phone at Brack's face during a subsequent outburst at the model's New York apartment.
During an April 2005 photo shoot in Morocco, McCarthy said, Campbell exploded in rage at Brack over a forgotten article of clothing. He said that Campbell left her assistant stranded in Morocco without funds, tore up her passport and threw it into the swimming pool and left her to pay the hotel bill.
In a final incident at Campbell's Park Avenue home, she ripped a sweater Brack was wearing "off her neck" and accused the assistant of stealing the garment, McCarthy said.
Brack, who was 19 when she worked for Campbell, is seeking unspecified damages for "assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, reckless infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment," the suit says.
Campbell's lawyer, David Breitbart, did not return calls seeking comment.
Brack is the latest in a string of former employees who have accused Campbell of abuse.
In March 2006, Campbell, 36, was charged with second-degree assault in Manhattan Criminal Court after authorities said she threw her cell phone at her housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, 42, opening a gash in the back of her head.
In June, a second maid, Gaby Gibson, claimed the celebrity struck her in the head. She has also filed a civil lawsuit accusing Campbell of personal injury, employment discrimination, civil assault and battery.
In February 2000, Campbell to pleaded guilty in a Toronto court to assaulting a former assistant.

Look out, she's on the rampage again. This time, instead of taking her rage out on an assistant, Naomi Campbell has smashed up her boyfriend's new yacht. The Sun says that Campbell's temper was sparked over an argument with an Italian chef and his choice of antipasti and wine. She is reported to have broken furniture and china and glasses on the yacht while it was moored in the Tuscan Rivieria. The yacht belongs to her new boyfriend, Dubai-born Prince Badr Jafar. The damage could be over $55,000.

Supermodel detained for ‘causing a disturbance’; no charges filed
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has a history of volatile behavior. Last month the London-born model appeared in a New York court to face allegations that she threw a cell phone at a maid in a dispute over a missing pair of jeans

The Sun tabloid said police were called after the 36-year-old supermodel arrived at the house in the early hours of July 10 seeking the return of some belongings.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 36-year-old woman had been detained for breach of the peace after "reports of a woman causing a disturbance" in London's tony Belgravia district.
She was released without charge several hours later. Police retrieved the belongings, "and the woman left the scene," police said in a statement. "No further action will be taken."

Naomi Campbell, hopeless romantic?
Naomi Campbell
When Naomi Campbell was removed by police in London Thursday for trying to pick up her stuff from the home of her ex, Dubai rich guy Badr Jafar, she was simply showing an intense desire to get organized. You know how it is when you want to put things in order at 3 o'clock in the morning.
The still-supple supermodel has had many boyfriends: She's reportedly dated Eric Clapton, U2's Adam Clayton, Robert De Niro, Adrien Brody, Flavio Briatore, Kevin Costner, Lenny Kravitz, Eddie Murphy, Sean Penn, Quincy Jones, Sylvester Stallone, Tommy Lee, Mike Tyson, dancer Joaquín Cortés, Joe Pesci, Robbie Williams, Joseph Fiennes, Sean Combs, David Blaine and Formula One driver Pedro Diniz.
The relationships have seldom lasted a year, unless you total the on-agains, such as her three-time hookup with Briatore, the millionaire Formula One manager. Nearly all have dumped her after a particularly bad hissy fit. Is there a pattern here?
Boyfriend: Badr Jafar (called a prince, but Dubai bloggers say he's "merely" an oil heir)
How long it lasted: 10 months, 2005-6
Best gift: $1.8 million, three-day birthday party at a seven-star hotel
The breakup: Jafar dumped her after she allegedly caused $54,000 worth of damage on his yacht this month when his chef suggested an appetizer of tomato, ham, and mozzarella with a white wine.
Boyfriend: Robert De Niro
How long it lasted: 1991-92
Best gift: An apartment in the Thread Building
The breakup: Our sources say Campbell called police and firefighters to De Niro's apartment when she suspected he was there with another woman. De Niro soon broke up with her, and Campbell was heard to scream into her mobile, "You either marry me, or buy me a building!" He was also reportedly not happy when Campbell allegedly slammed actress Troy Beyer against a limo outside his Tribeca Grill restaurant.
Boyfriend: Tommy Lee
How long it lasted: 2004
Best gift: Shoes, presumably
The breakup: Broke up with her after accusing her of being high-maintenance. As he put it, "She doesn't travel anywhere without 500 pairs of shoes and 82 dresses. It was too much." Her reply? "I have never been ashamed of liking nice things."
Boyfriend: Flavio Briatore
How long it lasted: 1998-2003 (off and on)
Best gift: Diamonds
The breakup: Briatore dumped her after he inadvertently invited one of her exes, Hugo Boss mogul Matteo Marzotto, onto his yacht, and Campbell pitched a hissy. Briatore later came home to his mansion in London and found his living room filled with broken glass.
Boyfriend: Adam Clayton
How long it lasted: 1994
Best gift: A huge engagement ring, just three months after meeting her
The breakup: They split after it was reported that Naomi told friends she was really in love with Eric Clapton.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was furious when she landed in Australia Thursday because she mistakenly thought a Qantas airline employees had tipped off the press about her arrival. Campbell had flown from Bangkok, Thailand, to Sydney and let loose on a flight attendant trailing her with her luggage trolley.
The volatile supermodel, who has a history of abusing her assistants, told the attendant, "F**k off! I am never flying Qantas again!" The airline confirmed Campbell was on the flight, but were baffled as to why she was so angry.
According to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, Campbell was under the mistaken impression that Qantas had tipped the media off, when, in fact, the newspaper's reporters were at the terminal for another story when a passenger on her flight told the media that she was about to emerge from the arrivals gate.
Campbell first told the press that she was in Sydney on a "private engagement... a funeral" before screaming, "F**k off! Respect my privacy!" The airport tantrum is the latest in a series of outbursts from the supermodel, who is currently facing the possibility of a seven-year jail term in the US for allegedly throwing a phone at her former maid. A Qantas spokesman says, "We are not aware of any issue Ms Campbell may have had on her Qantas flight. And we've looked into all angles from departure to in-flight and arrival."

Naomi Campbell is due in Manhattan Criminal Court today to face charges of allegedly smacking her maid Ana Scolavino with a crystal-encrusted BlackBerry. Meanwhile, Australians are saying they feel safer than ever flying Qantas now that Campbell has sworn never to use the airline. Miss Thing reportedly screamed, "F- off! I am never flying Qantas again!" at a flight attendant in Sydney Thursday. The potty-mouthed poser apparently assumed it was a Qantas employee who notified the swarm of press of her arrival from Bangkok. A local paper revealed it was actually a fellow passenger.

Naomi's Court No-Show
E! Online
Apparently, Naomi Campbell won't get out of bed for anything less than a misdemeanor. That's on top of the $10,000-a-day.
The 35-year-old catwalker failed to show at a court hearing Wednesday morning to face charges of assaulting her former maid with a cell phone last March.
Which is an odd absence, considering all previous reports on the supermodel leave one with the impression that she's nothing if not a stickler for manners.
Campbell was due in Manhattan Criminal Court to face the second-degree assault charges brought by Ana Scolavino last spring, but was MIA for the hearing this morning with nary an explanation as to why.
The judge issued a bench warrant for Campbell's arrest, but later retracted it after the strutter's attorney, David Breitbart, said that the prosecution was aware the supermodel would be a no-show and had agreed in advance not to seek her arrest.
While Breitbart refused to divulge why exactly the hot-tempered looker was absent from the hearing, he did note that it was not due to professional reasons. The non-explanation seemed to tide the judge over in the hearing, though he warned that, should she again fail to appear in court next month, the arrest warrant would be reinstated.
"I want to make it clear that she is absolutely obliged to appear at the next hearing," Judge James Gibbons said. "If she fails to appear on that court date, the warrant will go into effect."
With any luck, the revised court date won't be necessary.
Breitbart told the court that Campbell was considering a plea bargain from the Manhattan District Attorney's office, but again refused to disclose any details about the would-be deal.
The charges stem from an altercation between Campbell and Scolavino on March 30. According to the former housekeeper, Campbell confronted the 41-year-old employee in her Upper East Side apartment, accusing her of stealing a pair of designer jeans.
Scolavino claims that she denied the thieving allegations, at which point Campbell threw a cell phone, hitting her in the back of the head and causing a gash so large it required a trip to the Lenox Hill emergency room and four staples.
As for Campbell, she claims that if anyone is the victimized party, it's her.
Reps for the globetrotting model said shortly after her arrest last spring that the accusations of assault were "retaliation" and that Campbell had fired Scolavino earlier that morning for "erratic behavior" and routine thieving.
Since the incident, two more former employees have come out of the woodwork to capitalize on Campbell's alleged striking streak.
She was sued by former maid Gaby Gibson, who claims her one time employer struck her last January over yet another pair of missing jeans, and Gibson's housekeeping successor, Amanda Brack, who claims the professional poser struck her with a Blackberry and slapped her in the face last February after allegedly misplacing a piece of Campbell's luggage.
Of course, fielding allegations of head trauma at the hands of the market's latest PDA are fairly de rigueur for the supermodel.
Apparently, what Michael Jackson is to child-molestation allegations, Campbell is to sue-happy assistants.
In 2000, Campbell pleaded guilty to hitting former personal assistant Georgina Galani on the head with a telephone not once but twice, for which she doled out an undisclosed settlement.
In 2004, Campbell's former maid, Millicent Burton, claimed Campbell slapped her across the face while in the confines of her Park Avenue apartment.
Last year, Campbell was again sued by a former administrative assistant, Simone Craig, who claimed, like those before and after her, to have been struck by the supermodel in her alleged body part of choice--the head--by her alleged weapon of choice--a telephone. Upping the litigious ante, Craig also claimed to have been held captive by the famous face.
As for the case with Scolavino, the supermodel is due back in court Nov. 15 for the rescheduled hearing. If convicted on the criminal charges, the British-born Campbell could face up to seven years in prison and deportation.

Slap Naomi with new assault charge
STAFF AND WIRE SERVICES
LONDON - Guess no one ever told Naomi Campbell that "pretty is as pretty does."
The catwalk queen was arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault after another woman charged that the supermodel attacked her, police and media reports said.
The mercurial model is already facing an assault charge in New York for allegedly bashing her maid in the head with a jewel-encrusted cell phone.
And that's just one in a long series of allegations that Campbell has gone medieval on the help after blowing her top.
Police in London said a 36-year-old woman was arrested yesterday afternoon in a home in the Westminster area after another woman accused her of assault.
A police spokesman declined to identify the woman taken into custody, but British media said it was Campbell. She was later released on bail, Sky News reported.
The Sun newspaper reported the woman who filed the complaint was Campbell's drug counselor and that the therapist said she was "scratched all over her face" by the hot-tempered model.
Campbell's spokesman said there had been a misunderstanding.
"We are sure it will all be sorted out when the police investigate," he said. Discovered at age 15, London-born Campbell was the first black model to appear on the covers of Time and the French and British Vogue magazines.
But the sinewy siren's beauty has at times been overshadowed by reports of outrageous temper tantrums.
Campbell is facing an assault charge in Manhattan for allegedly smashing a jeweled cell phone into Ana Scolavino's head last March because the hapless maid couldn't locate a pair of jeans.
The diva failed to appear for a court date in September, and the case was rescheduled for Nov. 15.
In 2000, Campbell pleaded guilty in a Canadian court to grabbing another assistant by the throat and hitting her on the head with a telephone.
The cranky catwalker seems to have a thing about phones. In June, her ex-maid Gaby Gibson of Queens filed suit claiming Campbell whacked her in the head with a cell phone on Jan. 17.
In July, yet another former assistant, Amanda Brack, filed suit, contending Campbell spat in her face, beat her bloody with a BlackBerry and flung her passport into a pool.

Naomi Campbell Returns to U.K. Police HQ
AP
Naomi Campbell returned to a police station Thursday after allegedly being involved in an altercation the day before, police and news reports said.
Metropolitan Police had said Wednesday that officers were called to an address in central London in the afternoon and arrested a 36-year-old woman at 1:20 p.m. She was released on bail.
Police declined Thursday to say whether Campbell, 36, was involved. But in response to inquiries about her confirmed that "a 36-year-old woman" had returned to a police station Thursday morning and was released on bail until an undisclosed date in December.
The force has a policy of not naming people who have been arrested unless they are charged with a crime.
A statement from the Outside Organization, which represents Campbell, said, "We believe there has been a misunderstanding. Once police have investigated we are sure this will be resolved satisfactorily."
Campbell admitted in 2000 that she attacked her personal assistant Georgina Galanis. The model paid an undisclosed sum to Galanis and was not convicted of a crime.

Naomi Steals Show At Polish Fashion Do
The only thing Naomi Campbell does better than give hired help a beat-down is strut down a cat-walk. The British beauty with the problematic police blotter proved she can still rock some stilettos on the catwalk this past week when she strutted her stuff on the runway in Warsaw Poland, showing off designs by Agnieszka Maciejak. Naomi wore a series of remarkable floor-length gowns, including a slashed-to-the-thigh frock in lime green satin, and a sheer purple chiffon number and sported a new wig--er, I mean hairstyle (a short bob), while photographers flashed away. Interviewers waited for three hours to speak with the 36-year old supermodel, who has been working in the business since her discovery at the tender age of fifteen.
Girl, you may be crazy. You may even be sociopathic. But despite your criminal record, your stellar performance on the catwalk for this last challenge was so awe-inspiring that you are still in the running towards becoming America's Next Top Model. (Pause.) Even though you're British.

Naomi Campbell has reportedly agreed to appear on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show in a bid to show the world she does not deserve a reputation for aggressive behavior. On Wednesday, the British supermodel was cleared of attacking her former counselor - but she still faces lawsuits from former employees who allege they were physically abused by her.
A friend tells British newspaper The Mail On Sunday, "Naomi and Oprah have been friends for a long time and have been talking for a while about her coming on the show." Former maid Gaby Gibson claims Campbell beat and racially abused her earlier this year (06), while former housekeeper Ana Scolavino alleges she threw a mobile phone at her in January (06). Campbell's former assistant Amanda Brack is also suing the beauty for verbal and physical abuse.

Naomi "Bam Bam" Campbell versus Oprah might be tamer than you'd think. The word is that Naomi has agreed to appear on the show. Oprah has apparently been trying to coax the British model onto the show for "awhile."
But the appearance would require a break in the allegations of physical abuse including using implements of destruction including "projectile appliances" and verbal degrading.
All I have to say is "O" better be armed with Vaseline and straight razors cause you know that bitch is crazy enough to turn on a friend.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has reportedly handed out $390,000 in an out-of-court settlement to actress Yvonne Scio, the former friend she allegedly assaulted.
Scio claimed Campbell pushed her against a wall at her suite in Rome's Hotel Eden in July 2005, scratched and punched her face repeatedly, and verbally abused her.
She claimed the cuts she sustained were so serious she needed hospital treatment and was unable to give interviews to promote a film she'd just made.
The case began at Rome's Tribunale Civile in December (06), with Campbell facing a potential sentence of a year in prison and ($1,960) fine for insulting Scio, and a potential six months in jail and a ($392) fine for the assault. Naomi heads to Brazil for a spell
What a ... witch. Naomi Campbell sought spiritual solace with a leader of the Candomblé religion in Brazil on Thursday, a day after being sentenced in Manhattan Criminal Court for chucking a jewel-encrusted Blackberry at her maid's head.
The long-legged but short-fused supermodel flew to Rio to be named an ambassador to the city by the mayor and attended a birthday party for Tuca Franchini, a "father saint," sometimes called a witch doctor, whom the Brazilian press called "Naomi's guru."
The 36-year-old stunner has been close with the socializing spirit guide since at least 2003, when she got him VIP treatment at a Macy Gray concert there.
The Encyclopedia Britannica defines Candomblé as "the most African of Afro-Brazilian sects" with many deities who "have distinct, often capricious personalities" and with "rituals that include offerings, dances and animal sacrifices."
Perhaps Campbell should have avoided the chicken hearts she'd eaten at lunch in Porcao on the beach at Ipanema.
At the party, despite wearing a cluster of healing crystals around her neck, Campbell lashed out at videographer Fred Pontes, "who had been collecting interviews from guests in the style of weddings," Brazil's Veja magazine reports.
"He pointed the camera at Naomi and she began to scream that he should hand over his film. Immediately surrounded by girlfriends of the model, the photographer had no option than to hand over his tape. Naomi then locked herself in a room, where she only departed after many appeals by the hostess" - socialite Ariadne Coelho.
Brazil's O Dia newspaper had its own eyewitness report of the hissy fit. Meanwhile, Veja mag adds that Campbell's reps brought her over to Rio Mayor Cesar Maia and state Gov. Sergio Cabral "to repair her image." Campbell obediently did what she does best: Pose. And she recovered enough to hook up with hospitals tycoon Leo Alves.
Campbell was in Europe by Friday, after her lawyer David Breitbart argued before Judge Robert Mandelbaum that, should she lose modeling fees, it would be like paying a huge fine.
She's due back in New York for five days of community service and anger-management classes. Again.

Hit show Ugly Betty will soon welcome a real life supermodel on the award winning series - Naomi Campbell will star on the small screen playing a "loony" fashionista. The fiery beauty, who recently pleaded guilty to assaulting her housekeeper with her mobile phone, will make her TV acting debut on the fashion magazine-based show later this year. She says of her role: "On Ugly Betty I'll play a loony who loves to shop and can't find a man. I like that sort of role." The show picked up two Golden Globes last Monday - Best Television Series (Musical/Drama) and Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series (Musical/Comedy) for America Ferrera.

Naomi denying Brazil sect's appeal
Naomi Campbell called yesterday - no jokes about flying cell phones, please. The supermodel was a perfect lady, even as she made her complaints about newspaper stories in Brazil, England and here that she is interested in Brazil's African-based Candomblé religion, which has rituals some have likened to witchcraft.
"I'm Church of England, Protestant. I was christened that," Campbell told us. "I went to a party for a guy whose birthday it was [Candomblé priest Tuca Franchini].
I don't discriminate against what religion people have. That's what he does, but it doesn't mean I have to be involved in it."
But Franchini told the press three years ago that Campbell had gotten tickets for him to a Macy Gray concert. Said Campbell: "I got 35 tickets for people, and I did the same thing for U2 and Lenny Kravitz ... I gave them to my girlfriend, and I don't know who she invited.
"I went to Rio last week for a meeting for Fashion Rocks, which will be there April 7. I'm on the committee. And I'm doing a documentary with Quincy [Jones] there. I was in Rio for 24 hours.
"I didn't know I was going to be made an ambassador for Rio at all. I was totally shocked when the mayor did offer that. I do have a charity there, 'We Love Brazil.' It's to help people in the favelas [ghettos]. The women make crocheted fabrics, and designers from Brazil use them.
"It's been raining in Brazil for 26 days and hundreds of people have lost their houses. The charity gives to people who don't have anything."
We asked Campbell if it wasn't true that she clashed with a videographer.
"The video photographer, when I walked in, put the camera right at my head, so I told him, 'Don't hit me in my head.'
"I was at the party for an hour and 15 minutes, and I was on the dance floor. I wasn't hiding in a room."
The stunner, who was represented by top lawyer David Breitbart and has until May 21 to complete five days of community service for tossing a cell phone that hit her maid's head, told us:
"I'm remorseful and regretful. I'm trying to live my life and do some things for charity. I'm taking my punishment, and I accept that. I've accepted my responsibility and that's that. I have no idea what [community service] I'll do. Whatever they tell me to do, I'll do with my integrity, and that's it."
Is she working on the anger thing?
"I work on myself daily. I work on my program of meditation and prayer and try to stick to it. It's important to me."
We'll give Campbell credit for one thing. Whenever celebrities make complaints here, the B-listers hide and have their publicists do it, but the biggest ones, like
Bill Cosby, Jay-Z and Sean Penn, call themselves.
