Long-term girlfriend Odessa Whitmire is reportedly up in arms about the close friendship Damon has struck up with recent co-star Eva Mendes ? touted as the next J.Lo. OKay, I used to work on the riverwalk in San Antonio, tx and one night after work, a couple of girlfriends and I went to the Alehouse to have a few drinks and unwind. Matt Damon and Henry Thomas (Elliot from E.T.) were there hanging out and throwing darts. My friend and I were playing on the board next to them and we offered to challenge them. We played for a while, (we won 3games to 2!!!) and, as the bar was closing, Matt said he would be right back. He came back a few minutes later, and told us to follow him. Henry, Matt, my friend, and myself all went upstairs to a private room. When all of the customers had left, they opened the bar back up to us and we partied until 6am!!! Matt and Henry were perfect gentlemen and completely down to earth. Matt even paid our cab fares home so we wouldnt drive in our conditions!!! What a great pair of guys!!!!!!!!!!! They each signed an autograph for myself and my son, who was out of town at the time. Thanks guys for a really memorable night!!!!!!!!!!

You all are notorious for having such a good time on the set. Does that make it strange when you have guest stars coming in? Oh, I think they like it more, because everybody's so friendly. It probably makes them feel more at ease. But Cher... Nobody knows Cher. It's not like she's ever been here or we've really talked to her. There's no interaction. Everybody else is totally normal and they come and they rehearse. But Cher gets, like, flown in and dropped off by like a helicopter onto her spot, and we roll the cameras and then they lift her back up again into the clouds.

The actor, 33, first met Whitmire, 28, in 2001, when she was working as a personal assistant to his pal Ben Affleck. Damon has squired a string of leading ladies, including Winona Ryder and Minnie Driver, but his attention centered on Whitmire when the couple began dating. Though no reason was given for the breakup, Damon's schedule often put them thousands of miles apart. Since this summer, Damon has spent a considerable amount of time in the Czech Republic filming The Brothers Grimm. "Being split from (your girlfriend) is the tough part" of filming, he said last year.

We saw them at Light in Las Vegas on January 2, 2004. They had the biggest booth. Jen was dancing with her sister and Ben was talking with Matt most of the night.
