Well good for her on her honesty. I think alot more stars out there should be just as honest. It's not like people can't see through it anyways.

Exactly, I never knew what the big deal was. Maybe since I'm in San Diego and it's not considered a big deal here (plus I have bi/gay friends so I prob see more then average) but I just don't get why stars don't just come clean to start with anymore. From my perspective most fans don't care.

Sporadic actor John Drew Barrymore, perhaps best known as the absentee father of Drew Barrymore, died Monday in Los Angeles. He was 72.

No cause or details of his passing were released.

In a statement issued by her publicist, Drew, 29, said: "He was a cool cat. Please smile when you think of him."

John Drew Barrymore's parents were actress Dolores Costello and the fabled John Barrymore, who was part of a stage and screen dynasty that included brother Lionel Barrymore and sister Ethel Barrymore.

Drew's grandfather was the colorful Barrymore ? as famous for his magnificent profile as he was for his boozing. He died of pneumonia and cirrhosis of the liver in 1942, though, by then, he had been divorced from Costello since 1935, when their son was barely 3. John Drew, sometimes known as John Jr., claimed he saw his father only once.

In the '50s, John Drew, already battling well-publicized liquor and drug problems, appeared in such movies as The Sundowners, High Lonesome, Quebec, The Big Night, Thunderbirds and While the City Sleeps.

He frequently dropped out of projects, however, or arrived on the set late and unprepared. There were also problems with drunken driving and domestic violence. "I'm not a nice, clean-cut American kid at all," he told the Associated Press in 1962, by which time he had left Hollywood to make movies in Europe. "I'm just a human being. Those things just happen."

Drew Barrymore was his daughter by his third wife, Ildiko Jaid Barrymore. He is also survived by John D. Barrymore, a son by his first wife, actress Cara Williams (the 1960 sitcom Pete and Gladys). Barrymore's second wife was Gaby Palazzolo. All three unions ended in divorce.

Actress Drew Barrymore has been spotted taking photos of wedding dresses adding to the speculation she is about to get married for the third time.

The 29-year-old star was shopping with a girlfriend for wedding gowns at Fifth Avenue's Bridal Suite, Manhattan, reports the New York Post. An eyewitness said Barrymore was "oohing and aahing" at the store's dresses. Fellow shoppers claim she was trying on gowns and taking photos of the ones she liked.

"She claimed she was there just to help her friend, but it looked like she had some gowns in mind for herself," a source told the paper.

Barrymore, who has been married twice, to Canadian comedian Tom Green and British-born bar owner Jeremy Thomas, has been dating the Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti for two years.

The star — who has also reportedly told friends that she wants to wed in September and is said to be looking for a wedding venue — recently said she had never been happier with Fabrizio. She admitted: "It's the most positive relationship I've ever been in."

Barrymore also confessed she wished she hadn't been wed twice before because she wants to feel the excitement of getting married for the first time with Fabrizio.

"There's a couple who I recently found out were getting married for the first time, and I looked at my boyfriend and thought, 'Wow, I wish I had never done that so I could do that with you,'" she told a friend.

In 1994, Drew wed Thomas after a whirlwind romance but their marriage lasted just over a month. Seven years later, she appeared to have found happiness with her second husband, Green, but they filed for divorce in December 2001 after just five months of marriage.

The sexy actress, famed for her voluptuous figure, didn't realise how much weight she had gained until she tried on some of her old clothes.

However, instead of going on a crash diet and starving herself back into shape, Drew took the sensible option of regular exercise.

She told America's Vogue magazine: "I didn't realise how heavy I was before - except when I find my old pants.

"The thing that really helped me lose weight is exercise. I didn't exercise before. My body has really, really changed. So it turns out those assholes who say, 'Exercise is good for you' are right. I hate that!"

Barrymore's 'Not That Into' Rom-Com Adaptation

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)- Flower Films, the production shingle fronted by Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen, will mount New Line's adaptation of "He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys."
The nonfiction best-seller was written by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, both writers on HBO's "Sex and the City." Using a question-and-answer format, the book advises women on how to read the signs that the man they love isn't in love back.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the storyline for the movie will involve an advise columnist who falls in love with one of the women who seeks his advice. The nonfiction book's authors have already penned the adaptation.

Although Barrymore has toplined most of Flower Films' productions, including "Fever Pitch," "50 First Dates" and the "Charlie's Angels" movies, the actress currently isn't attached to "He's Just Not That Into You" as a star.

Drew Barrymore is great. She can be very feminine and sexy and cute but (to me) she's got this masculine air about her which makes her kind of ambiguous, not in her looks, but her blokey mannerisms. She's cool, witty, dry, contrasting, can laugh at herself and doesn't give a damn, sort of good male/female elements combined. If Drew came back around as Andrew I reckon she'd still be the same kind of person. She's intriguing. I loved her in Donnie Darko as Ms Pomeroy. She was for me as much a major player in it as Jake's Donnie character.

Drew Barrymore is ready to start a family, she says.

"I definitely feel the beginnings of a tick tock," Barrymore, 31, tells InStyle in its September issue. "Whether I have children or adopt – whatever form a family comes in, I would absolutely love to have it."

And she's getting more domestic, she says: She won a Project Runway-style dressmaking contest on the set of her new movie, Lucky You, and says she plans to start saving sewing kits from the hotels she stays in with her boyfriend, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti.

Still, she admits, "I can't cook. Fab makes a few good things, but we mostly order in."

Another thing has changed as she's gotten older (she stresses that she's "31 and a half"): She's become more comfortable in her skin. "You learn to love your body," she says. "You can't look at models and feel bad about yourself. I'm not the kind of girl who can stuff her face with pasta all the time and not gain weight."

To stay healthy, "I've been running and doing yoga and Pilates, and I love the way it makes my mind and body feel," she says. "I really don't obsess about it."


But even though she's ready to be a mom, she hasn't quite processed that fact that she's a grown up. "Am I going to walk home from work one day … and realize I'm a homeowner? That I run a production company and have responsibilities and a long-term relationship?" she says.

"All of those things are so adult. I keep wondering when it's going to hit me. Maybe it never will. And that's okay."

The new issue of InStyle hits newsstands Aug. 18.

I love Drew. She is funny, down to earth and talented.

“I like eating dinner at 10:30 p.m., going for a drink at midnight, and rolling home at 4 a.m. And when I get off from a night shoot at 6 in the morning, there’s still life around. I don’t feel like some isolated weirdo. This city lives 24 hours a day.”

On her domestic side (and lack thereof):
“I get into household chores – doing laundry and scrubbing the bathroom. I can’t cook. Fab [Moretti, her boyfriend] makes a few things but mostly we order in.”

On getting away from doing romantic comedies:
“I need to try different things now. I’m growing up, so I want to grow in my work. I’m ready to tap into the darkness. As much light as I have inside me, there’s just as much darkness, I’m afraid. There’s a polarity, and I still have demons to work out.”

As part of Hollywood royalty, Drew Barrymore can have virtually anything she wants. But what she wants may surprise you.

Drew tells the October issue of Elle magazine, "I want to be terrified. I really want to do what I think I'm going to f--king fail at miserably."

Well, in her new movie "Lucky You," Drew gets to do what she has feared for most of her adult life -- sing.

Drew's phobia stems from being the only cast member in Woody Allen's 1996 musical "Everybody Says I Love You" to be dubbed. An incident which Drew says "was really an unfortunate incident in my life."

For her latest role, the 31-year-old worked with a vocal coach for five months to play a Vegas lounge singer opposite Eric Bana. Having a boyfriend who just happens to be the drummer in The Strokes (Fabrizio Moretti) probably didn't hurt her musical abilities either.

In the article, Barrymore also opens up about recently losing 20 pounds, which she says has made her "more confident and adventurous" with her outfit choices.

And despite her sometimes questionable fashion risks, Drew says "I don' t regret those moments because they're kind of what define you."

Whether talking about fashion, singing or anything else, that's an attitude worth phoning home about!
