Amanda Peet, whose screen love interests have included Ashton Kutcher (A Lot Like Love) and Jack Nicholson (Something's Gotta Give),
has a new leading man in her life: Troy screenwriter David Benioff.
The two are engaged to be married, Peet's agent, Ame Van Iden, confirms to PEOPLE. Van Iden had no further information on the planned nuptials.New York native Peet, 33, had been previously linked to House of Wax actor Brian Van Holt. Her relationship with 34-year-old Benioff – whose writing credits also include 25th Hour and the upcoming Wolverine – has been off-and-on, and was reported to be over when the actress spoke to PEOPLE in May.
"The thing about dating is, I am not good at it," she told the magazine.
She also admitted to not being happy when single, saying: "I am a relationship person. Some people are comfortable being alone. They don't panic. They see it as a bit of freedom and a time to be explorative. Whatever the opposite of that is, I am. I'm not meant to be on my own."

Amanda Peet, star of the upcoming NBC sitcom "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," has confirmed that she's pregnant. The couple, who met at Brigham Young University, have been married for four years, and Heder has a movie, "Mama's Boy," coming out later this year.

Amanda Peet's Pre-Wedding Jitters
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 2006 04:00PM EST
By Julia Wang
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip actress Amanda Peet, who is set to marry Troy screenwriter David Benioff this weekend, is having some pre-wedding jitters, she says.
In an appearance Wednesday night on the Late Show with David Letterman, Peet admitted, "I think I've been pretty mellow, but recently I've been having recurring nightmares about, not the ceremony, but the party. They're sort of adolescent fears of just being lame, having a lame party."
Asked to describe her nightmares, the actress told Letterman, "I go to the bathroom and I come back to the party and everyone is gone except for a few distant uncles of David's left."
Peet, who is expecting her first child with Benioff, said she's four months pregnant and that her growing figure has earned her the nickname "Fatty" on the Studio 60 set.
"See, that's not right," answered Letterman. "That's just not right."
But Peet doesn't seem to mind: "I think it's really funny," she replied.
She also said she and Benioff don't know the gender of their baby, although she added, "I do want to know."
Peet, 34, and Benioff, 36, announced their engagement in July 2005. They've been dating for four years, Peet told Letterman, and met when "a mutual friend, Peter Blake, fixed us up on a blind date."
Of their early courtship, Peet said, "I thought he was a little cocky. … He made fun of my thumbs."
"What's wrong with them?" asked Letterman.
"Don't zoom in, please!" Peet said, as she showed the talk-show host her thumb. "My dad has those hammer thumbs. The nail is a sliver and the rest is a big, fat thumb."
When Letterman told her, "There is nothing wrong with your thumb," Peet joked, "Well, maybe I should have married you!"

I think she's a bit of a horse-face who makes a lot of unfortunate clothing choices but she does seem bright and funny so I like her. Two hammer-thumbs up for Ms. Peet!

Amanda Peet Weds Screenwriter Beau
By Lesley Messer
Actress Amanda Peet and screenwriter David Benioff were married in New York City on Saturday evening, PEOPLE has learned.
The bride and groom exchanged vows in a ceremony held at the actress's alma mater, Friends Seminary, a Quaker school founded in 1786.
Among the guests at the event were actor Mark Ruffalo and his wife Sunrise, actress Elizabeth Berkley and her artist husband Greg Lauren.
"It was amazing and as extraordinary as she is," Berkley told PEOPLE after the ceremony.
"It was beautiful," Ruffalo said.
Peet, 34, who appears in the new NBC drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Benioff, 36, who wrote the screenplays for 25th Hour and Troy, are expecting a child together, Peet's rep, Stephen Huvane, told PEOPLE earlier this month.
In a Sept. 27 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, Peet said she was four months pregnant.
The couple, who dated for four years, announced their engagement in July 2005.
This spring, Peet was on Broadway playing complaining newlywed Corie Bratter in a revival of the Neil Simon comedy "Barefoot in the Park." Asked by PEOPLE how the role might affect her approach to marriage, she said, "Maybe I'll be less of a drama queen. Now when I try to pick a fight with my fiancé, he's like, 'Corie Bratter!' It's awful."
Peet has appeared in movies including Syriana, The Whole Ten Yards and Something's Gotta Give. Benioff has four films – The Kite Runner, Alpha, Ender's Game and Wolverine – due out in the next two years.
The marriage is the first for the New York City natives.

'Studio 60' Star Peet Marries
Actress trades vows with screenwriter Benioff
Actress Amanda Peet and screenwriter David Benioff, engaged for more than a year and expecting their first child in early 2007, tied the knot over the weekend.
Peet, who stars on NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and Benioff, whose writing credits include "Troy" and "25th Hour," were married Saturday (it's the first wedding for both) in a ceremony at Friends Seminary, the Quaker school Peet attended as a teenager. Guests at the wedding included Mark Ruffalo and his wife, Sunrise, and actress Elizabeth Berkley and her husband, artist Greg Lauren, the celeb weeklies report.
"It was beautiful," Ruffalo tells both People and Us Weekly.
Peet, 34, and Benioff, 36, dated off and on for several years before getting engaged in July 2005. The actress revealed on "The Late Show with David Letterman" last week that she was pregnant. The baby is due early next year.
Peet plays network executive Jordan McDeere on "Studio 60," which has earned critical raves but only so-so ratings on NBC this season. Her other credits include "Syriana," "The Whole Nine Yards" and "Igby Goes Down."
Benioff has several film projects in the works, including an adaptation of "The Kite Runner" (which he's co-writing) and "Wolverine," a spinoff of the "X-Men" films focused on Hugh Jackman's character.

Rapper Xzibit marks spot in "X-Files" movie
The new "X-Files" movie will be packing more heat.
Rapper Xzibit, Amanda Peet and Scottish comic Billy Connolly have signed on for director Chris Carter's next big-screen adaptation of the hit TV series.
Citing a policy of secrecy surrounding the plot line, Fox would not confirm any details regarding the three actors' roles. But sources said Xzibit and Peet will play FBI agents alongside David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully.
The supernatural thriller is a stand-alone story, not a sequel or continuation of the hit 1998 feature adaptation.
Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the screenplay, and production is expected to begin this month in Vancouver. The film is set to hit theaters in July.
Xzibit recently was cast opposite Bruce Willis and Woody Harrelson in Oliver Stone's "Pinkville," but his schedule was freed up when that film was put on hold because of the writers strike. His credits include "8 Mile" and MTV's "Pimp My Ride."
Peet was recently in theaters with another alien-related film, the New Line drama "Martian Child." Connolly has appeared in "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" and "The Last Samurai."

Although a framed poster of Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl might seem an odd choice for a baby's nursery, for actress Amanda Peet, 35, it makes perfect sense. In the new issue of Domino, Amanda says that she and husband David Benioff chose the artwork while she was still pregnant with their daughter, Frances 'Frankie' Pen, 9-months.
[Barbra] Streisand's character is so silly — a true original. When David and I were making New Year's wishes, we said, 'Please, God, make our baby silly.'
Frankie is the first child for the couple, who were married in 2006.

TUB FULL OF FUNAMANDA Peet doesn't need a bed for sex. "My husband and I were recently watching an episode of 'Seinfeld' where Elaine says, 'You can't have sex in a bathtub, that's impossible,' " the wife of screenwriter David Benioff tells next month's In Style. "And we just looked at each other. No, it isn't impossible. It's sort of slippery, yes. But fun." Peet, who's in the upcoming flick "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," adds: "David used to have an outdoor stereo by the pool at his bachelor pad . . . I'm sure he lured many women there, but I was the last one."

Actress Amanda Peet has reportedly told friends that the baby she is expecting is a girl.
The 38-year-old, who is already mum to two-year-old daughter Frances 'Franki' Pen, is pregnant with her second child with husband David Benioff.
Peet recently attended the Sundance Film Festival, where she debuted her new movie Please Give, and was overheard telling her friends: 'We're having a baby girl!'
