NY POST..PAGE 6

RALPH Fiennes must have broken up with his partner of 10 years,
Francesca Annis. The actor was seen Friday night in the clutches of
another woman - Gina Gershon. The two caught sexy rocker Maggie Kim's
show at Crash Mansion on the Bowery at Spring Street, according to our
spywitness: "They made out in a booth and then cuddled the rest of the
night." A rep for Fiennes didn't return calls.

Wasn't Annis like 15-20 years older than him? interesting new couple.

The Butler Doesn’t Do It

Don’t get too excited: The Harry Potter franchise may be getting all PG on us, but there isn’t any same-sex lovemaking in the offing. However, Ralph Fiennes, who makes a spectacular entrance as Lord Voldermort in the latest screen installment, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is going queer. He’s in New York right now to shoot the movie Doris and Bernard, based on the real-life story of the late billionairess Doris Duke and her relationship with the gay Irish butler to whom she left control of her estate when she died. (Susan Sarandon plays Ms. Duke.) Don’t expect Ralph to get naked or anything in that one, though. The other night, the actor told an Out.com spy that there’s not exactly a lot of gay sex in the picture. “This isn’t Brokeback Mountain,” he laughed. “Not by a long way.”
Our hearts are crushed.

Fiennes Considers Legal Action After "Younger Model" Slur

British actor Ralph Fiennes is considering suing a US publication that falsely reported he'd ditched his 61-year-old lover Francesca Annis for a younger model. The Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire star, 42, is furious at an article in the New York Post which alleged he was seen flirting and canoodling with 43-year-old actress Gina Gershon. It read: "They made out in a booth and then cuddled the rest of the night." After protesting his innocence, Fiennes refused to make any further comment on the press slur, but a close friend insists, "He'll fight this all the way." The source adds, "There is no truth in any of these suggestions. It's pure personal conjecture."

News of the World (UK)

Another Fiennes mess!

By Holly Jarvis, Neville Thurlbeck & Neil McLeod

HOLLYWOOD actor Ralph Fiennes' ten-year relationship with actress
Francesca Annis was heading off the rails last night-after the News
of the World tracked down his secret mistress on a train to Scotland.

We can reveal the English Patient star has been cheating on loyal
Francesca, 61, for TWO YEARS with a Hungarian musician 30 years her
junior.

Our investigators interviewed busty Cornelia Crisan as she sat in First
Class on the 10.30 Flying Scotsman from King's Cross to
Edinburgh-fleeing London before the scandal of her affair with
Fiennes, 43, was about to break.

She is believed to have taped a phone call to the Hollywood star a week
last Thursday proving the relationship so she could sell the story.

Cornelia-who lives in a seedy flat in Roehampton, south-west
London-drew puzzled looks from fellow passengers as she tried to
shield her face under a woolly scarf, a large hat and a bag. One
passenger said: "Is that lady trying to hide from someone? I hadn't
noticed her until she put on that incredible disguise."

But Cornelia emerged from beneath her piles of wool to reveal she
expected Fiennes to deny her claims to protect 61-year-old Francesca.

She whispered: "I want to get away from all this for a while." When we
asked her if she had taped a romantic call to Fiennes, she said: "Yes."
And when we asked her to confirm her affair with the idol-who plays
Lord Voldemort in the latest Harry Potter-she also replied: "Yes".

The pair met in 2004 at London's Dorchester Hotel. A friend of Cornelia
said last night: "Ralph is besotted. At first she thought it was just a
bit of fun, but now they're very close. They try to meet whenever he is
in London."

The couple are said to have been sending saucy texts to each other.

The news will devastate Francesca. Despite an 18-year age gap, she has
had one of the most enduring relationships in showbiz with Ralph.

But cracks first appeared in 2002 when Fiennes was pictured canoodling
with Jennifer Lopez.

Posh Ralph-nominated for a Best Actor BAFTA for The Constant
Gardener-is in a play in Dublin. When we asked him about the affair
he refused to comment. Francesca told us: "Not now".

Another Fiennes mess

Ralph Fiennes' 11-year romance with Francesca Annis could be on the critical list now that a Romanian beauty has claimed she's been secretly tending to "The English Patient."

Singer Cornelia Crisan, 31, claims that, two years ago at a party, the 43-year-old actor persuaded her to come up to his hotel suite in London.

"First, he slid off my dress," she told Britain's Sunday Mirror. "The only items he didn't remove were my diamante high heels. He said, 'Keep them on, they are nice,' so I did."

After that, she alleges, they hooked up more than 30 times. (Once, she says, they reenacted his sex scenes from "The End of the Affair.") As recently as Jan. 24, she says, he told her, "I want some physical contact."

But by then, she suspected she wasn't his only diversion from Francesca.

"He was a cheat," she says. "As time went on, I started to see more clearly, to realize that I didn't want him at all."

Fiennes left his wife of 12 years, actress Alex Kingston, after co-starring with Annis, 61, in a 1995 production of "Hamlet." (Annis played his mother, Gertrude.)

A rep for Fiennes, who is onstage in Dublin, didn't return calls yesterday.

I can't fulfil all Ralph's needs, admits actress
by NICOLE LAMPERT, Daily Mail

08:15am 7th February 2006

Francesca Annis has forgiven boyfriend Ralph Fiennes for having a two-year
affair with a woman half her age, it was revealed yesterday.
The 62-year-old actress has told friends that she knows that she cannot
"fulfil all his sexual needs".

Miss Annis is planning to stand by Fiennes, whose career has been revived by
the success of A Constant Gardener, despite Romanian singer Cornelia Crisan
reveaing details of their affair.

Miss Annis has told friends that the thing she is most upset about is that
her 11-year relationship with Fiennes - who is 19 years her junior - will
now be raked over in a 'vulgar' way.

"Francesca did not know about the affair but she is not surprised that he
has been seeing another woman for sex,' said a friend last night. "They have
often discussed his need for sex which she knows she can't satisfy.

"They have a complex relationship and they both have very different needs.
He needs far more sex and thrills than she does.

"She needs to work, she looks after her very old mother, and has
responsibilities as a mother herself. She can't give Ralph all the energy
and excitement he needs.

"But Francesca also knows that she is his rock and that he always comes
back. They spend a lot of time apart but they both relish what they have
together when they are together."

'Under strain'

The friend added that the pair had been under more strain in the last two
years.

"When she reached 60 she felt she was hurtling towards old age and she
realised how big the age gap is between her and Ralph," said the friend.

"They have been having problems since then but this is not going to be the
thing that breaks them up.

"The thing she hates most about this is that she really can't stand being in
the public eye for a vulgar reason. She only likes her work to be in the
public domain."

Miss Crisan claimed her affair with Fiennes - who has denied any
misbehaviour, despite being previously linked to a string of women - began
after they met at a party at the Dorchester Hotel.

He persuaded the 31-year-old singer to go up to his bedroom where he seduced
her.

She claimed that over the next two years she met up with Fiennes for sex 30
more times at her house and in a bolthole he has near Spitalfields Market in
the East End.

Yesterday Miss Annis refused to answer calls at the home she shares with
Fiennes in Hammersmith, West London. Her family said her 93-year-old mother
Marquita had not been told about the affair because she was so frail.

Fiennes is in Dublin where he is performing in The Faith Healer and friends
say Miss Annis may go to see him in the show this week. They met when she
played Hamlet's mother Gertrude and he played Hamlet in a production of the
tragedy at the Hackney Empire in 1995.

His wife, ER star Alex Kingston was devastated by the affair, as was her
long-time boyfriend, photographer Patrick Wiseman, who is the father of her
three children.

Fiennes and Annis to split

07/02/2006 - 18:49:45

The actor Ralph Fiennes and his partner Francesca Annis are to separate
after 11 years, lawyers for the actress said tonight.

The split comes after reports that The English Patient star Fiennes, 43, had
an affair with a young singer.

"Ms Annis confirms today that she and Ralph Fiennes are to separate," said a
statement from her solicitors.

The 61-year-old actress also announced she has begun legal proceedings
against the Daily Mail for defamation and invasion of privacy over a story
which claimed she had forgiven him over the alleged affair.

Constant Gardener star Ralph Fiennes and his partner of nearly 11 years, actress Francesca Annis, have split up, her lawyers in London say.

"Ms. Annis confirms today that she and Ralph Fiennes are to separate," said the statement issued Tuesday by her law firm, Schillings.

The announcement followed a Mail on Sunday newspaper report claiming that Fiennes had had an affair with a Romanian singer.

Fiennes, 43, and the 61-year-old Annis met while starring in a 1995 production of Hamlet, in which Fiennes played the title role and Annis his mother. At the time, Fiennes was married to ER star Alex Kingston, while Annis had three children with photographer Patrick Wiseman.

Schillings also said that Annis had begun legal action against The Daily Mail newspaper for defamation and invasion of privacy over a story claiming she had forgiven Fiennes for his affair.

I remember it was pretty shocking when the news broke. Fiennes was on top of his game and Kingston had just done the BBC production of "Moll Flanders" ...one of those perfect couples...then he leaves her for a much older woman. I believe right after the split is when she came to the states and got hired for ER. Maybe one our UK posters can help out if I have it wrong.

Hooker jibe at Fiennes
Kiki King, Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley

BAFTAS host Stephen Fry had Ralph Fiennes fuming at last night's awards with a dig about his hooker girlfriend.

The actor's Romanian lover Cornelia Crisan, 31, had earlier been exposed as a £250-an-hour vice girl.

And Stephen jibed: "Everybody looks like they're having a great time and are very relaxed... but Ralph Fiennes looks a little anxious, I have to say."

His attempts at humour didn't go down at all well as Ralph - who split with long-term par tner Francesca Annis, 61, over his 18-month fling - sat stony-faced.

To make matters worse, he also missed out on a Best Actor award for The Constant Gardener.

Fiennes steps out with new love he wooed with naked yoga
by RICHARD SIMPSON Last updated at 23:52pm on 8th October 2006

New love: Ralph Fiennes with Sirin Lewendon

His 11-year relationship with Francesca Annis ended in acrimony in February amid claims he had a two-year affair with a Romanian singer.

But Ralph Fiennes's new girlfriend has taken steps to make sure she isn't treated so disrespectfully.

Every day for eight weeks, the actor 'begged and pleaded' new love Sirin Lewendon to come to his bedroom - and every day she told him to wait because she didn't want to become 'just another notch on a Hollywood actor's bedpost'.

But after employing such bizarre techniques as putting on shows of naked yoga at her Dublin apartment, Fiennes has finally got his way with the statuesque interior designer.

The pair have been dating for three months after meeting through mutual friends in Dublin where Fiennes had been on stage this summer performing Brian Friel's Faith Healer.

Fiennes, 43, a two-times Oscar nominated actor, fell for the exotic-looking six-footer for her 'ballsy attitude towards life' and her apparent complete ignorance of his celebrity status. Fiennes - who has always had something of a penchant for older women - is also said to enjoy being 'mothered' by Belfast-born Miss Lewendon.

The pair were pictured for the first time in London at the weekend.

Fiennes has had to have his head shaved to play Lord Voldermort in the new Harry Potter movie, Order Of The Phoenix.

So on Friday afternoon after he finished filming at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, Sirin, 40, met him at James Lock Hatters in St James's where after half an hour, he emerged with a grey woolly hat pulled down over his chilly head.

The pair went on for afternoon tea at The Wolseley restaurant in Piccadilly - something they have been doing on a regular basis in recent days.

Sirin, who is of Thai decent and is wealthy in her own right, has been staying at Claridges in London for the past week and every night, Fiennes has been returning there to spend the night.

A friend said: 'He was chasing her for two months - they went on dates but she wouldn't give in to him. They have only been sharing a bed for the past month. She knew he was an actor and she was really wary of getting involved. He really has done all the chasing. Put it this way, after what happened with his last relationship, Sirin didn't want to become just another notch on a Hollywood actor's bedpost.

'She loves his sense of humour, in particular the rather unique way he won her over - with a display of naked yoga at her Dublin flat.

'He's met a few of her friends now - she has a lot of friends in the media, the art world and design - so it's definitely serious. They are really into each other.

'Sirin's grandmother is Thai, her name means 'sacred' in Indian and she has a very broad Belfast accent - so you can see she's quite an unusual woman. She has a very dry sense of humour and a real no-s*** attitude towards life. She doesn't suffer fools gladly, she's ballsy and independent which is probably why Ralph likes her so much.

'She's straight talking, swears like a docker and smokes like a chimney. She also calls Ralph "my man" so it's pretty obvious who's wearing the trousers in this relationship.'

The friend went on: 'Sirin doesn't really get the whole fame thing - she finds it all a bit rubbish and Ralph likes that about her as well. She obviously knows he's a famous actor but she doesn't treat him like some kind of god - which only makes him want her even more.

'He has been going home to her after each day of filming of Harry Potter. Most days when he gets back on time, they have been having afternoon tea at The Wolseley - Ralph likes to have a routine.'

The friend concluded: 'Sirin didn't know much about Ralph's ex-partner. Incredibly it's not a topic which has been spoken about. How can I put this? It's a very physical relationship.'

Fiennes's 11-year love affair with Francesca Annis ended in February amid claims that he had been having a two-year affair with a younger woman. Romanian singer Cornelia Crisan, 31, said she had enjoyed a passionate affair with the actor.

Fiennes and Annis met when Fiennes played Hamlet at the Hackney Empire in 1995 and Annis, 61, played his mother, Gertrude. Fiennes subsequently left his wife, ER star Alex Kingston, to be with Annis.

Fiennes won an Oscar nomination for his role in The English Patient, as well as for his work in Schindler's List.

Hostess and Ralph Fiennes in mile high sex claim

A QANTAS flight attendant faces the sack after being accused of having sex with British actor Ralph Fiennes in an aircraft toilet while flying from Australia to India.

Sydney-based Lisa Robertson, 38, met the star of The English Patient while working in the business-class cabin on flight QF 123 from Darwin to Mumbai on January 24.

In a confidential report to Qantas management obtained by The Sunday Telegraph, Ms Robertson is accused of chatting to Fiennes during the flight and being seen exiting the same toilet moments apart.

She claims Fiennes, 44, became "amorous" towards her in the toilet.

Ms Robertson declined to comment when contacted by The Sunday Telegraph.

Qantas staff who were aware of the incident said last night the couple were caught after crew members waited outside the toilet.

In a statement lodged with her employer, Ms Robertson denied the allegations.

The statement was presented at a meeting on Thursday between Ms Robertson, the Flight Attendants' Association, Qantas and airline services contractor Morris Alexander Management.

At the meeting Qantas representatives accused Ms Robertson of having sex with Fiennes.

Ms Robertson has been suspended without pay.

Fiennes had been in Australia to perform at the Sydney Festival before travelling to India

Details of Ms Robertson's alleged encounter with Fiennes are contained in her statement to Qantas management.

It shows she has been accused of two breaches of the company's corporate and cabin-crew policies.

The first breach relates to Fiennes allegedly sitting in a crew jump seat while chatting to Ms Robertson during her rest break.

The second relates to Ms Robertson and the actor being seen leaving the same toilet.

They were allegedly spotted by two crew members, who told the flight's customer-services manager.

"While conversing with Mr Fiennes during my break, I expressed a need to go to the toilet," Ms Robertson said in her statement.

"I went to the nearby toilet and entered it, he followed me and entered the same toilet.

"I explained to him that this was inappropriate and asked him to leave. Mr Fiennes became amorous towards me and, after a short period of time, I convinced him to leave the toilet, which he did.

"I left the toilet a short time later. At no time did any crew member come to my assistance.

"At no time were any other customers aware of this incident. At no time did I put the Qantas name or reputation in jeopardy."

In her statement, Ms Robertson admitted that Fiennes had visited her in the crew rest area during her break to chat.

She also admitted having several conversations with the actor throughout the flight, but said she was simply doing her job.

"This is common practice on long flights to build a rapport with passengers and converse with them during the flight," Ms Robertson said in her statement.

According to her statement, Ms Robertson was a police officer for 14 years before joining Qantas in September, 2004.

She said she had been repeatedly commended for her service as a flight attendant.

The Flight Attendants' Association of Australia did not return calls.

A Qantas spokesman said: "All we can do is confirm that a flight attendant was stood down following an onboard incident."

He refused to comment on whether this incident involved Fiennes, citing passenger privacy.

A copy of the flight manifest obtained by The Sunday Telegraph confirmed Fiennes was on board the flight on January 24. He occupied seat 2K in business class.

'How I led Ralph Fiennes astray at 35,000ft'

The Qantas stewardess who claimed she rejected an amorous Ralph Fiennes on a flight to India has admitted having sex with him in an aircraft lavatory.

Lisa Robertson told friends she was a big fan of the British actor and found herself luring him to the cubicle.

But they apparently shared more than a 15-minute fling at 35,000ft.

Miss Robertson claims they went on to share a passionate night in a Mumbai hotel - at the star's invitation.

The Australian stewardess has told friends she recognised Fiennes, 44, as he soon as he settled into his business class seat, 2K, for the nine-hour flight from Darwin.

'I've always fancied him and to see him on my flight was a real thrill,' she told them.

Later she allowed him to break aircraft rules by sitting beside her on the crew jump seat, which is used during their break.

After chatting together, there was, she has admitted, a lot of 'body language' between them and even the odd kiss or two.

She gave him her phone number. Finally she decided to take matters into her own hands.

'I just stood up, reached down for his hand and told him to follow me,' she told friends.

'We went into the toilet and locked the door and off came much of our clothes.'

She said they then had passionate and apparently unprotected sex.

Other crew members, more than a little suspicious, waited outside the door and later reported her to airline bosses.

Miss Robertson, 38, told friends she was so overwhelmed with the moment that she did not care who was listening, what they saw or what they assumed had been going on.

That is in stark contrast to what she told her bosses at Qantas.

In a statement, she portrayed Fiennes as the villain, claiming he had followed her into the lavatory where he made his intentions clear.

She said that she had told him it was inappropriate to follow her there and, after a short time, convinced him to leave.

She told her bosses she had been so alarmed at being followed that she expected one of the other crew to help her.

'At no time did any crew member come to my assistance,' she complained.

She also insisted that at no time were any other passengers aware of the incident.

It is hard to believe that they didn't notice staff gathered outside a lavatory for so long. Or the fact that two people eventually emerged, one an Oscar-nominated actor.

After the plane landed in Mumbai shortly after 7pm local time Miss Robertson travelled to the Grand Hyatt, a 20-minute drive from the city's international airport.

Staff at the hotel confirmed to the Daily Mail that the Qantas crew had been booked in as usual that night.

But Miss Robertson apparently did not use her room.

She has told friends that not long after arriving in Mumbai her mobile phone rang.

It was Fiennes. He wanted to see her again.

They met at a hotel and spent a passionate night together, this time practising safe sex.

'Lisa was completely smitten by him,' said a friend. 'She just hoped that the relationship could continue on from there but perhaps she was hoping for too much.'

It is understood she has not heard from Fiennes since their encounter.

According to the actor's schedule, he had to set off the next morning for engagements in Indian villages, which included 'preaching' about the dangers of Aids and the need to engage in safe sex.

Days before the incident last month, Fiennes's girlfriend Sirin Lewenden is said to have ended their relationship because of his 'wandering eye' and constant demands for sex.

It emerged that the liaison with Fiennes could prove rather profitable for Miss Robertson, who was declared bankrupt three years ago.

She is said to have spent this week negotiating media deals to tell the story of her fling on flight QF123 and has gone into hiding.

A former undercover drug-squad officer for New South Wales police, her marriage to a police officer ended in divorce apparently due to the demands of their jobs.

Police sources said that she had suffered 'burn out' due to the pressure of her job posing as a drug addict to catch criminals.

She left the force in 2003 after two years of long-term sick leave.

Police sources said her condition was serious enough to leave her with a pension of 80 per cent of her wages for the rest of her life.

However, she later fell heavily into debt.

Sydney newspapers reported that she went bankrupt three years ago with debts of £200,000, and still has several months to wait before she is discharged.

Since the story emerged at the weekend Fiennes has chosen not to comment.

Air stewardess: secrets of my five-mile high sex romp with Ralph Fiennes
By JO KNOWSLEY in Sydney

The attraction had been immediate and overwhelming from the moment they first made eye contact.

But as Qantas stewardess Lisa Robertson leaned over towards Hollywood star Ralph Fiennes to offer him a drink, she could not have imagined how the evening would unfold - or that she would end up in a passionate tryst with him in the aircraft lavatory.

When rumours first emerged that Ralph Fiennes joined the Five Mile High Club in the business-class lavatory on flight QF123 from Darwin to Bombay, Qantas issued a statement from Lisa vigorously denying the allegation.

But The Mail on Sunday can now reveal the truth about what happened that night - how the English actor had unsafe sex with the 38-year-old Australian stewardess on the flight and went on to seduce her in an evening of almost non-stop love-making at his lavish hotel in India.

Speaking for the first time, exclusively to The Mail on Sunday, Lisa, a former high-flying police officer, said: 'It's true. We did make love on the plane that night. At first I denied it because I was so desperate to keep my job and I didn't want to hurt Ralph.

'I know some people will think it's disgusting. And I'm not proud of what I did - it was inappropriate behaviour. But I don't regret it. Ralph is gorgeous and the chemistry between us was amazing. What woman wouldn't want to make love with him? This sort of attraction happens to people all the time. It's just not usually with a Hollywood star at 35,000 feet.

Although Lisa makes no bones about having been an enthusiastic participant in the unedifying episode and is clearly still thrilled to have attracted the attention of an international film star, it is hard not to see her also as his victim.

Despite her tall, trim figure, there is sadness in her eyes, highlighted by the medication she takes for depression since she left a tough front-line job as a detective with an elite New South Wales police drugs squad.

One can't help asking whether Ralph Fiennes didn't spot a vulnerable woman, use her, and then abandon her to face the sack from her job with Qantas.

Lisa recognised the 44-year-old star of films including The English Patient from the minute she went to his window seat 2K to offer him a selection of champagne, orange juice and water.

And she admits she was star-struck. He was dressed casually in beige chinos and a long-sleeved shirt, and as he quietly asked for a glass of water she gushed: 'Oh my God, it's you. I am such a fan of your films. I love your work. I've seen The English Patient 20 times.' She recaptured her composure and added: 'I'm so sorry. This is so unprofessional of me.'

Fiennes, however, looked relaxed and amused.

'He leaned forward, gazed deep into my eyes and stroked my arm as if to reassure me,' said Lisa. 'He whispered, 'It's OK. Anyway, I think you're gorgeous.'

She admits: 'I felt overwhelmed. I felt like you do when you're a teenager. My heart was pumping with excitement. We kept looking at each other and giggling. He was just so gorgeous. I noticed he had lovely soft skin, beautiful hands and wonderful eyes.

'I expected him to be aloof. But he was just so nice. He had a strange kind of vulnerability about him. For the rest of the evening, although I was working on the other side of the cabin, we kept looking at each other. He was watching me serve drinks, staring intensely. He didn't have a meal and drank only a couple of glasses of Shiraz.

'But every time I looked up I saw that he was watching me. We were seriously flirting across the cabin, which is not like me. I've served a lot of famous people, including Shane Warne and Ian Thorpe, and I'm not usually like that at work.'

Lisa, who is divorced, continued with her duties, serving the evening meal before the cabin lights dimmed. There were only 12 passengers in business class that night.

Then, as she was preparing to go on her break, Fiennes made an unexpected suggestion. Lisa said: 'We had chatted a bit about India - where I've been five times - and his movies.

'When I told him I was going for a break, he said, "I might come and visit you for a chat, if that's OK." I was a bit surprised, but also thrilled. I said, "Sure."'

Lisa admits she was smitten by the star, but says she did not make the first move and had no thought of what might happen next.

It was 11pm and most of the other passengers were asleep. Lisa retired behind the curtained crew area, next to the cockpit, took off her shoes and put her feet up. But moments later she was interrupted by Fiennes.

'I'm sorry, were you sleeping?, he said. 'No,' she replied. 'Come in and take a seat.'

Lisa is not proud of what happened next, but she found Fiennes 'irresistible'. 'At first we just chatted,' she said. 'He sat really close to me. He told me he was learning lines for a new movie with Colin Farrell, playing the part of a gangster. He said he was practising his cockney accent.

'I asked him to give me an example. He did and it was really good. I told him again that The English Patient was just the best movie, but he said, 'That was over ten years ago. Why don't people value my later work?'

'I apologised and said I didn't mean to offend him. I guess we talked for about an hour about lots of different things. He thought it was funny that I lived alone with my dog, a Lhasa Apso-poodle cross called Finn.'

Fiennes told Lisa he was touring Indian villages for Unicef to talk about AIDS awareness. He asked what she would be doing in Bombay, where she was staying, and said, 'Do you want to meet up?'

Stunned and deeply flattered, Lisa said: 'Yeah. That would be cool.'

By this point they were sitting so close their faces were just inches apart. Lisa said: 'He held my hands. Then he started kissing me. The kissing was very passionate and his hands were all over me. I just melted.

'He was caressing my neck, holding my head and he started undoing the buttons on my dress. The way he was going, he would have made love to me right there.

'I was very turned on and so was he. I had butterflies in my stomach. I was touching his face and his hair. He had beautiful skin. I was undoing his shirt as well. It was a bit surreal, like a scene from one of his movies.

'But I was afraid my supervisor might pull back the curtain and catch us. Eventually, I couldn't bear it any longer. I just grabbed his hand and said, "Come in here a minute."

'By this time, we had half our clothes off and I didn't care about anything. I led him into the cabin lavatory next to where we had been sitting and locked the door.

'Ralph was a great lover. And I thought if I was going to get the sack, it would be worth it. I knew it was against the rules and wrong but I didn't care.

'I was a bit shocked that he didn't wear a condom. Looking back, I think of it as dangerous behaviour and hypocritical given that he was going to India to talk about AIDS.

'He asked me, "Have you ever done this before?". I said, "No, never." I asked him the same question and he said, "No."

'The only strange thing was that he kept his eyes open the whole time, staring at me intensely, although we were kissing madly.

'I realised that people would miss me and wonder where I was as my break was almost over. I told him we had to get out of there quickly.

'I helped him get dressed and he told me that when he got out of the toilet he would press his call button to distract the other flight attendants so that I could leave.

'But a male member of staff saw Ralph come out of the toilet and he saw me lock the door after Ralph. When I came out, the member of staff was still there. I prepared to get back to work but the cabin manager wanted a word with me. She asked, "Did you go into the toilet with a male passenger?"

'I said, "No." But she said three people saw me do it. She told me I had crossed the line and that she was going to report me when we got back to Sydney.

'Ralph called me over and asked, "Is everything all right?" I told him, "No,"and sat down next to him. He was very concerned, but I downplayed it and said I would sort it out.

'I knew I was in big trouble. I was ordered to spend the rest of the flight working in economy and I was the talk of the other cabin crew. I was able to talk to Ralph again to reassure him that everything was fine. I wanted to see him again in Bombay. I didn't want him to freak out and not call me.'

Even now, almost a month after the incident on January 24, Lisa still seems to find the events surreal. She claims her behaviour was out of character but says: 'I just had no control over myself. I wanted him so much. I couldn't resist him.'

She has had only one other liaison with a man she met while working on a flight - an American with whom she had dinner and later spent a weekend in New York.

'But that was very much out of office hours,' she said. 'Men travelling business class are always coming on to me. They invite me to go for weekends away to lavish locations and nice hotels and give me their cards. But I usually just throw them away.'

Lisa had a sheltered upbringing with her two brothers in the town of Wagga Wagga near Sydney. Her father Graham, a butcher, and her mother Sandra were so protective that she did not have her first sexual relationship until the age of 20 when she went to the New South Wales police academy.

Lisa recalled: 'My mother had cancer when I was 11. She survived but it was traumatic. I never really had time for boys. I was the only girl in the middle of two brothers and I had a lot of responsibility.'

She also had low self-esteem. 'My brothers teased me about being flat-chested, so I've had breast implants. They said I was skinny and gawky. And I hated being 5ft 9in tall. I never felt attractive.'

She married a fellow police officer, John Duncan, and had a high-flying career in undercover drug work and hostage negotiation.

After 14 years her police service ended due to her suffering post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. And her marriage did not survive.

Indeed, she seems wary of men, saying she has been repeatedly exploited by them. 'So many treat you badly,' she said. 'They're just after sex. They're losers.' Ironically, she thought Fiennes was 'so sensitive, so different'.

Only now has Lisa begun to wonder. She has seen last week's reports claiming that he has been dumped by his girlfriend of five months, interior designer Sirin Lewenden, because of his wandering eye, mood swings and constant demands for sex. Their romance began after he split from his long-term partner, actress Francesca Annis.

On flight QF123, however, Fiennes seemed to Lisa an impossibly exotic lover, very different from the men she usually encounters. And while she says she never expected a romance, she didn't hesitate in saying yes when he asked her if he could meet her at his Bombay hotel.

Brimming with anticipation, Lisa stood next to Fiennes before he left the plane so they could talk. 'He was wearing a funny old white hat and a Kathmandu backpack, which made him look very eccentric,' she said.

'I gave him my mobile number and he repeatedly said he would call me. I was sad to see him go. I just wanted to go with him.'

Lisa had been at her hotel - the Grand Hyatt - for only about half an hour when Fiennes called her. He was on his way to his hotel, the Intercontinental, and wanted her to come over.

Lisa said: 'I had a shower, put on a little floral sun dress and my flip-flops. I put on minimum make-up and had a glass of Sauvignon blanc because I was a bit nervous.'

At the Intercontinental she found Fiennes was checked in, under his own name, to room 663, a lavish corner suite on the sixth floor. After calling the room, she was escorted up by security guards.

She said: 'Ralph opened the door with just a white towel around his waist. He said, 'Hi, how are you darling? Come in, I'm just having a bath. Make yourself a drink.'

'He dropped the towel and was wandering around naked. I was laughing, I thought it was hilarious. But I wander around naked a lot at home, so it didn't bother me. He had quite a nice body. It's obvious he's not a gym work-out kind of guy. For a man he's got quite a slender body, but I was attracted to him. It was a luxurious room - better than where I was staying. There was a bottle of red wine with a note on it saying, Welcome Mr Fiennes. I was like a kid in a sweet shop.

'He changed into a casual blue shirt and chinos and asked if I would like to have dinner with him. He'd heard there was a lovely restaurant on the roof. I said that would be great. I'd thought he would just keep me in the room, make love to me and throw me out.

'But it surprised me that he was a gentleman and he was treating this meeting like a real date.

'I wasn't particularly hungry and he doesn't eat much, so we just had snacks and ordered drinks. He had a Martini. There was a pool and the people around it recognised Ralph. He held my hand and had his arm around me, as if I was his girlfriend.

'He had been in Sydney performing a Beckett play and started to recite bits to me. He asked if I'd seen it. I told him it wasn't my kind of thing. I found that part of the date a bit boring.

'He didn't mention he had a girlfriend. I said I knew he went out with a famous actress, Francesca Annis, and that they'd broken up. He said, 'Yeah, it's been a bad year.'

'From his look of sadness and vulnerability, I guessed he was still in love with her. It was obvious that he was single and struggling with it.

'We had a couple more drinks. I spoke to him about The English Patient and asked him to say that line, 'It's a really plum plum' when the nurse is feeding his character the fruit. He did and I was thrilled. We went back to his room and I suggested we crack open the bottle of red. I poured us a glass each. He put on a DVD - Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels - which he said he was watching for research.

'I sat on the end of the bed. He came over, put his wine by the bed, threw off the top sheet and took off his clothes. I undressed at the same time. There was no conversation and in no time we were kissing and right into it.'

According to Lisa, they made love twice more through the evening - once in the middle of the night. But he told her, before they went back to sleep: 'I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to kick you out in the morning. I've got a lot of calls to make and things to do.'

Lisa said: -I felt fine about that. I understood but I was disappointed.

'I wasn't under any illusions that this would be the start of a romance. He is an upper-class Englishman and I knew it would be just about sex. But I thought we could keep a friendship and that we might make love when he visited Sydney.'

Lisa was woken at 7am by the sound of a mobile phone ringing, followed by Ralph talking. She said: 'He was sitting at the end of the bed. When the call ended he turned around and started kissing and cuddling me. We made love for about 20 minutes. It was excellent, really nice.

'But then he said, 'I'm going to have to kick you out now.' Just before I got out of bed, he said in a sincere, gentle voice, 'Lisa, I really like you.'

'I didn't even have a shower. I just went into the bathroom, tied my hair back and put on my flip-flops. He said, 'See you on the next Qantas flight,' to which I said, 'You will never fly Qantas again.' And he said, 'Oh yes I will.'

'He walked me to the door and kissed me and said, 'Goodbye, darling.' The casual way he said it was like he would see me next week.

'I had mixed feelings as the door closed behind me. I hoped he would call me again. I understood he had Unicef commitments but I was going to be in Bombay for two days, so I hoped he would find time to squeeze me in for another quick love-making session - or even a phone call. When he didn't call I realised I had to get over it. He was never going to.'

Lisa met her flight crew for drinks and confided in one friend, a pilot, what had happened. But she was horrified to learn that everyone seemed to have heard her making love with Fiennes in the lavatory. She says some of the girls were envious and giggled, saying: 'I wish it had been me.'

But Lisa knew her supervisor had reported her. 'I knew I was in big trouble,' she said. On January 26 she flew back to Sydney, where she was told by her management company, airline services contractor Morris Alexander Management, that she had been suspended without pay pending a disciplinary hearing.

On the advice of a lawyer she tried to make contact with Fiennes, leaving an urgent message at the Gate Theatre in Dublin, which had been behind his Beckett performances in Sydney. Within a few hours he called.

Lisa said: 'I told him I was in a lot of trouble and that I had been suspended from work. There was silence at the other end. I told him people had seen us leaving the toilet, but all he said was, 'Nothing happened.' He kept saying, 'We weren't in the toilet.' I told him I couldn't deny it. I said I had to answer the allegation.

Fiennes' reply, when it came, shocked Lisa to the core. She said: 'It was clear he was turning his back on me. He said, 'We don't know each other very well. I'm very sorry, I can't get involved. I can't help you.'

'I was desperate and suggested we said I was doing something like helping him with a contact lens. But he wouldn't agree.

'Then he told me, I've been scarred by an incident about a year ago when my life was dragged through the tabloids. My whole relationship was destroyed. It's ruined my life. You're just a hostess and you don,t even like your job. You're not happy in your job. You can get another job.'

'I felt humiliated. It was like talking to a different person. He made me feel like a low-life, like I was asking him for money or something. Then he said, 'Let's have no further phone contact. I'll call you in a month,s time, just to show you I'm a human being.' I was stunned.

'I told him, 'You're right. In the big scheme of things, it's not that important. It's just a job. If I do lose my job, it was worth it.'

'I ended the conversation on good terms, but I was angry and disappointed at his attitude and uncaring lack of support and sympathy.

I expected him to take some responsibility for our problem which suddenly became my problem.

'I thought about resigning to protect him. I felt sorry for him because of the speech he made about what he'd been through with the British papers. But I was frightened, I was depressed, I felt completely alone and I had no support.'

The betrayal evoked bitter memories of Lisa's troubled past. On leaving the police, she sued the force for lack of care over her mental health problems, but lost the case and was driven into bankruptcy.

She briefly studied law at James Cook University in Cairns, Australia. Then she met a stewardess and thought the job sounded fun. But the hard work and long hours did nothing to ease her depression, for which she still takes medication.

Now, after her fling with Fiennes, she is alone and faces losing her job. Her family have been critical of her and over the past week, since the story first emerged, their communication has been punctuated by fierce rows.

Now Lisa is even more wary of men. 'I've never been lucky in love,' she said. 'I just choose the wrong people. My last relationship, with an Italian flight steward, ended in June.'

Yet bizarrely she insists that, given the chance, she would make love to Fiennes in the lavatory again. 'It must sound crazy,' she said, 'but I wouldn't miss that experience for anything.'

She has convinced herself that Fiennes did care for her, however briefly, and that 'the experience was a lot more than just about sex'.

Does she feel used? 'No,' she insisted. 'We were both fantastically attracted to each other. I am sure he cared about me.

But she pauses, twisting a ring on her finger, as if for the first time considering the more brutal alternatives. 'Then again,, she said, +he is a very good actor.'

And she concedes that she was stung by his failure to support her story about the contact lens. It was a lie that might have helped her keep her job. 'I am upset by his betrayal,' she said. 'He is a millionaire movie star and I'm a struggling air hostess on £12,000 a year. I have financial problems and nothing to fall back on.

'He could have written a letter giving a version of events which the airline would have been forced to accept.

'What will I do now? Who knows? But I will bounce back. I always do. Maybe I'll finally take some time out to find out what I want and who I am. I should have done that years ago.'

Compelling story! I do take exception to Lisa's statement "'I was a bit shocked that he didn't wear a condom. Looking back, I think of it as dangerous behaviour and hypocritical given that he was going to India to talk about AIDS." - she should be just as shocked at her own behaviour for continuing the sex when her partner wasn't wearing a condom.

Also, her original statement denying the whole thing - she says he followed her in the bathroom, uninvited, and she had to convince him to leave. Nothing like making the guy sound like an aggressive perv.

She had a brief, totally fun encounter and it's too bad it turned out rather cruel for her.

Ralph's hostess is sacked
February 19, 2007 01:53pm

QANTAS has sacked the flight attendant at the centre of a mile-high sex scandal involving actor Ralph Fiennes. Lisa Robertson was suspended after allegations emerged that she had sex with the British actor in an aircraft toilet during a flight from Australia to India on January 24.

"Qantas Airways announced today that flight attendant Ms Lisa Robertson's employment contract to operate on Qantas aircraft had been terminated," the airline said.

Ms Robertson initially denied having sex with Fiennes, claiming that he followed her into the toilet and "became amorous". However, in an interview published over the weekend, Ms Robertson admitted to the encounter, and to later spending the night with the actor in his hotel room in India.

"At first I denied it because I was desperate to keep my job and I didn't want to hurt Ralph," she said in Britain's The Mail on Sunday newspaper. I know some people will think it's disgusting and I'm not proud of what I did - it was inappropriate behaviour - but I don't regret it."

Fiennes' media manager Sara Keene said the star was seduced by Ms Robertson. "She initiated the encounter," she said. "This woman seduced him on a plane. She was the sexual aggressor."

Ms Robertson told Britain's The Mail on Sunday newspaper she had been starstruck when she recognised Fiennes on board QF123 from Darwin to Mumbai.

The 175cm blonde stewardess, who quit the NSW police force after 14 years because of post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, said she and Fiennes flirted and the actor suggested he join her for a chat when she took her break. It was then, in the curtained-off crew area, that the two began kissing and undressing, until scared that they would be caught, Ms Robertson led Fiennes to the lavatory.

"Ralph was a great lover and I thought if I was going to get the sack, it would be worth it,'' she told the paper. "I knew it was against the rules and wrong but I didn't care."

FIENNES CAUGHT IN 'POOL ROMP'

English actor RALPH FIENNES incurred the wrath of a Belgium hotel boss after he reportedly frolicked naked in a swimming pool with four women. British newspaper The Sun reports THE ENGLISH PATIENT star, 44, and his female companions disturbed guests at the Hotel Tuilerieen in Bruges. Hotel manageress PATRICIA HOMBLE says, "I wasn't happy about it." Fiennes is currently in the stunning Belgium city filming comedy IN BRUGES, which also stars COLIN FARRELL and BRENDAN GLEESON. Last month (FEB07), Qantas flight attendant LISA ROBERTSON was fired from the airline after she admitted she had sex with the actor in a lavatory during a long-haul flight in January (07).

Sleazy History

RALPH Fiennes may want to get an AIDS test. Lisa Robertson, the former Qantas stewardess who says she had quickie sex with the star in a business-class toilet, once earned up to $2,000 a night as a call girl, Australia's Herald Sun reports. Roberston, 38, told the paper her tricks-turning was linked to a long battle with depression stemming from her years as an undercover cop. She said she also worked at a brothel immediately after Qantas suspended her for the Fiennes incident because "I couldn't pay the rent and I was too proud to ask anyone for money." Fiennes' rep didn't get back to us. [More on Fiennes: Cindy Adams, Page 14.]

blink.gif Wow. That's, er, impressive. I've known people who have done that, but they were 20-25 years younger. He's really something; I would at least expect more discretion.

I'd probably still be strongly tempted to hit that, though. With protection. unsure.gif tongue.gif

Ellen & Ralph

ELLEN Barkin, who was so hot and bothered in "Ocean's Thirteen," might be getting some relief with Ralph Fiennes. Late Sunday night, our spies caught them at the Mercer, "holding hands and cuddling before going up to his room." A week earlier, they had been "full-on making out," also at the hotel. The ex-wife of Ronald Perelman should be aware: Fiennes was warned to take an HIV test after he had unprotected sex with a Qantas stewardess on a flight to India. Reps for both didn't return calls.

It seems like that is the case. Theemperor has long indulged my excessive interest in Ralph Fiennes; normally, I do not swoon over any celebrity except Paul Newman. biggrin.gif Last year theemperor even willingly accompanied me to see "Faith Healer" (excellent performance, by the way!). He joked that I should go wait by the backstage door, this was my big chance, etc. Little did theemperor know that this was one situation where I might have had a legitimate shot at turning the fantasy into a reality. blink.gif That should be exciting, but instead I find it creepy.

Lohan performance voted worst in online poll
Moviegoers slam actress for ‘I Know Who Killed Me’ role, ‘Georgia Rule’

MSNBC.com

NEW YORK - As if 2007 could get any worse for Lindsay Lohan, now this: Moviegoers tagged her with the year's worst performance by an actress.

Fifty-eight percent of voters in an online poll by AOL's Web site Moviefone gave Lohan that dubious honor for her turn as a woman escaping a sadistic killer in the box-office flop, "I Know Who Killed Me."

The poll, which tallied more than 3.8 million votes, had more bad news for the starlet, who recently spent a brief stint in jail for drunken driving and cocaine possession and also attended voluntary rehab.

Another of Lohan's films, "Georgia Rule," finished second among voters for biggest waste of $10 spent on a movie ticket.

The No. 1 biggest waste? "Norbit," a slapstick comedy starring Eddie Murphy, whose performance in the movie was the runaway pick for worst by an actor.

Voters were given five choices in each poll category. Two box-office smashes were voted the most worthy of the price of a ticket: The blood-soaked ancient war epic "300" edged out the sci-fi extravaganza "Transformers," 28 percent to 26 percent.

"Transformers" stars Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf were named best on-screen duo, barely beating out Michael Cera and Jonah Hill, the nerdy leads of the comic coming-of-age romp "Superbad."

"Superbad" made more voters laugh out loud than any other film, registering 37 percent of the tally, ahead of the 28 percent for the bawdy pregnancy comedy "Knocked Up." Both comedy blockbusters were from producer Judd Apatow.

Sexiest babe went to Fox of "Transformers," while hottest hunk went to Johnny Depp, from "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Ralph Fiennes' dark turn as Voldemort in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" earned him best male villain honors. Angelina Jolie won best female villain for playing the mother of the demon Grendel in "Beowulf."

Voters gave Matt Damon the nod for best two performances for "Ocean's Thirteen" and "The Bourne Ultimatum," the latter of which easily nabbed year's best sequel.

KATE TAKES OVER FOR NICOLE

January 9, 2008 -- NICOLE Kidman's loss is Kate Winslet's gain. On Monday, Page Six was first to report that Kidman had to drop out of producer Scott Rudin's movie "The Reader" due to her pregnancy. Now, insiders tell us Winslet has agreed to star opposite Ralph Fiennes in the picture in which "a young man's decades-long obsession with an older woman in Germany runs headlong into a war crimes trial, where he learns an awful truth," as its publicity describes it. One source said, "The role was originally written for Kate, but because it was supposed to start filming in the fall, when she was working on 'Revolutionary Road,' she had to drop out. Nicole was then hired, but her schedule kept getting pushed back and now she's pregnant, so the role went back to Kate." Reps for Winslet and Rudin, whose "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" are both nominated for Golden Globes, couldn't be reached for comment.

Fiennes Fights West End Blackout To Perform

British actor RALPH FIENNES has been hailed a hero for his latest West End stage outing - after a power cut left him performing in complete darkness.

The English Patient star was preparing for his leading role on the opening night of God Of Carnage at the Gielgud Theatre in London on Tuesday night (25Mar08) when the blackout hit the city’s theatre district - halting the performance by ten minutes.

But Fiennes proved his artistic integrity by taking to the stage with only the gleam of an emergency backstage light to view his path - wrapping up to cheers of admiration from the bemused audience.

Musical impresario Sir Cameron Mackintosh, the theatre’s owner, later thanked the audience for their patience, joking that "he hadn’t shortchanged the (electric) meter."

However, the play’s translator Christopher Hamilton, didn’t find the dark-plunged first night funny, insisting he felt "suicidal" when the performance was temporarily postponed.

He says, "The English quite like all that and the audience got right behind it. I think we’ll get the sympathy vote."

Fiennes: 'I Feel I'm In Witness Protection'

Joseph Fiennes
has admitted that his life has changed drastically since moving to Los Angeles.

The actor relocated to the US last year to marry model Maria Dolores Dieguez and star in the television series Flash Forward, in which he plays an FBI agent.

Speaking to Now, Fiennes said of his character in the show: "He's a man who is intent on not having to live in the hell that he sees. He's a recovering alcoholic, which is a painful backstory for him.

"His life is now back on track. He's got a wonderful family. He lives for his child and his wife, and to see that taken away devastates him."

Fiennes also revealed that he is still adjusting to his new life in California.

He added: "I feel like I'm in witness protection. I've got a new wife, a new bank account, a new car and a new home. It's been exhilarating, but also exhausting."
