With the long run of NBC's hit "Friends" winding to a close, Courteney Cox Arquette says she's ready for a new challenge: motherhood.
Like her small-screen character, Monica Geller, Cox Arquette been trying to have a child, the actress tells Barbara Walters in an interview slated to air on ABC's "20/20" on Friday night, the Associated Press reports. Cox Arquette says she has tried in vitro fertilization, and actually gets pregnant easily, but has had "many miscarriages."
The 39-year-old actress married David Arquette , 32, her "Scream" costar, in 1999. Although she says they'd consider adopting a child, she added, "I do want his genes, and I would try probably a surrogate before that."
"We're not panicked about it," she adds in a USA Today interview. "A lot of times people say as soon as you relax you'll have a kid. I'm not worried about it.''
The actress tells the paper that the couple are "committed to our great relationship. We're committed to growing and changing, and we give each other a lot of freedom," Cox Arquette says. "We have problems, don't get me wrong. But we would be in therapy and get it Fixed." She adds that they went to therapy "for a long time" before they got married.
Cox Arquette also is working with her actor hubby as co-executive producers on the new "Mix It Up," a design series on WE: Women's Entertainment that will take two people who live together and spend no more than $2,500 to come up with a style that works for them both.
The serial renovator has bought, redone and sold five houses in L.A. since 1986, the paper notes -- and although Cox Arquette says she will never sell the couple's Malibu beach house, her current home in the Hollywood Hills could wind up on the block at some point.

Did anyone else catch the interview?
They came off as a really nice couple. Walter kept calling Cox "Monica" throughout the whole interview. I did like that Cox made Arq clean up his act before they got serious (which he did)..she was very emphatic that she has zero tolerance for that stuff. I thought it was very cool for an actor to come out and take a stand like that on national tv.

I had forgotten about this, but it sure seemed like David was a bit bummed about his acting carear, and Courtney kept telling him to pick what he wanted to do, not to accept anything he was offered. They could afford for him to be choosie.

Courteney Cox Expecting?

Costume and set designers on Friends could soon find themselves working overtime to conceal Courteney Cox Arquette's budding belly.
According to Us Weekly, the sitcom star is pregnant with her and hubby David Arquette's first child.
The happy tidings reportedly came from Arquette's brother, Alexis, who let slip the family secret while taping Sharon Osbourne's talk show on Monday (it airs next month).
That's great news for the couple who shared their conception woes with 20/20's Barbara Walters two weeks ago. In her effort to become a mom, Cox told Walters she has had "many miscarriages."
In vitro fertilization was the couple's latest option, though they weren't averse to the idea of a surrogate mother or adoption, but only as a last resort.
"I do want his genes," Cox told Walters, "and I would probably try a surrogate before that?but then, absolutely, adoption."
How this bodes for her alter ego, Monica, remains to be seen. The high-maintenance Friends character and TV hubby Chandler Bing have been exploring adoption this season after being unable to conceive.
Depending on Cox's due date, the real-life pregnancy may or may not become an issue producers have to deal with. Taping wraps early next year because the actors negotiated for a truncated 10th and final season with only 18 episodes.
Of course, all this could be moot since Cox's rep isn't commenting. "When they're pregnant and ready to announce it, they will," the publicist told USA Today.

Courteney Cox and hubby David Arquette looked oh-so-happy for their at-home interview with Barbara Walters on "20/20," but clashed big-time just moments before they went on-camera -- battling over boots!
Trouble erupted when Courteney emerged from the bedroom wearing brown knee-high boots, and David snapped: "You're not going to wear those, are you? They look ridiculous!" Furious, Courteney told "Mr. Fashion Plate" to butt out. David persisted, but his angry spouse dug her boot heels in and refused to change! Barbara's producers started to sweat, fearing anger and tension would mar the interview -- but when the camera's red light blinked, the Arquettes lit up like Hollywood's happiest couple!

Oh, and Alexis Arquette, brother of David Arquette, who was apparently left with one stiletto-clad foot in his mouth after he mistakenly reported on The Sharon Osbourne Show that his sister-in-law, Courteney Cox Arquette, was pregnant.
"It's not true, and I don't know what the hell I was thinking," Arquette told me. "I was out of my mind. Sharon was great, but they are going to cut my part out of the show, because I was misinformed. She's not pregnant. I got it wrong. I really did. I feel horrible...I hope it happens for them, because they're both great."

Courteney Cox has found a way to fill her spare time post Friends. The star is expecting her first child with wacky hubby and fellow thesp David Arquette, E! has learned.
No other details were released by the couple's publicist.
It's great news for the camera-friendly twosome, who met on the set of 1996's Scream and have been married just under five years. The couple has talked publicly about their infertility woes and just recently denied a report that Cox was with child.
Rumors of a pregnancy began when Arquette's brother Alexis let slip the potential family secret while taping Sharon Osbourne's talk show in October.
Cox's publicist rushed to deny the story and the segment was re-edited before making it to air to exclude the announcement.
Just weeks before Alexis' baby bugaboo, the duo had revealed their conception woes to 20/20's Barbara Walters. In her effort to become a mom, Cox told Walters she has suffered through "many miscarriages."
Cox said the couple had begun trying to conceive via in vitro fertilization. If that failed, Cox said, they might consider a surrogate mother or adoption, but only as a last resort.
"I do want his genes," Cox told Walters at the time, "and I would probably try a surrogate before that?but then, absolutely, adoption."
The only possible problem that remains for Cox will be hiding her budding belly on Friends --her character Monica and TV hubby Chandler Bing have been exploring adoption this season after being unable to conceive. But with shooting on the series' 10th and final season scheduled to wrap soon it may not be an issue.

Latest: Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette are expecting a baby boy, according to the Hollywood rumor-mill. Friends star Cox, 39, this week revealed she is pregnant with her first child, after a number of unsuccessful attempts to conceive. Although neither Cox or Arquette have revealed details of the unborn baby's sex, the actor's sister Rosanna was spotted in Los Angeles last month shopping for blue baby clothes - prompting speculation Cox is carrying a son. It's not the first time a member of the Arquette family has let slip details about pregnancy - David's brother Alexis announced the pregnancy during an American TV interview with Sharon Osbourne in October, three months before it was officially revealed.

Arquette Angry at Intrusive Photographers

Actor David Arquette is furious paparazzi photographers won't leave his pregnant wife Courteney Cox alone. The 33-year-old actor is shocked at the lengths photographers will go to in order to snap the Friends star - and finds it hard restraining himself from attacking the nosy snappers. He complains, "The spotlight with the baby has been worse than anything in the world. They've been so relentless, like blocking her in the car and the craziest things. It takes everything to just not throw a brick through the car window."

First Pictures of Baby Coco

Former Friends star Courtney Cox and husband David Arquette have made the first picture of their baby Coco available to the media in return for their daughter's future "privacy". Cox, 40 and Arquette have released the photo of their 10-day old baby - taken in their Los Angeles garden - to raise money for charity and deter scurrilous paparazzi from clamouring to photograph her. In a statement, the proud parents explain, "It is our wish that by making this photograph available we will protect the privacy of our daughter." Coco was born in Los Angeles hospital after Cox went through more than 12 hours of labour.

Courteney Cox Births Production Company
Friday Jun 25, 2004 8:10am EST
By Stephen M. Silverman

First came a baby for Courteney Cox and David Arquette ? daughter Coco, born June 13 ? and now, the couple are stepping up their output with a new production company.
The actors have launched a company they're calling Coquette, and the former Friends star has signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. TV, the production company behind her hit sitcom (and which, like PEOPLE, is part of Time Warner), according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Among the projects Coquette reportedly has in development: The Fall and Rise of Taylor Kennedy, a drama with HBO interest that would star Cox and have Nick Cassavetes writing and directing; Dirt, a drama for FX; and Midnightly News, an unscripted half-hour comedy, which is expected to be sold to FOX.
"It is a natural progression for us, at this stage in our careers, to be moving toward development and production in both television and film," Cox, 40, tells the trade paper.
The couple made their TV series producing debut with Mix It Up, a home-decorating show for WE: Women's Entertainment, co-hosted by Thea Mann, a former casting agent who will serve as Coquette's head of development.
"We got our feet wet with ... Mix It Up, which is going into its second season and enjoyed that process so much we decided to formalize our commitment by forming this company," says Arquette, 32.
