ALL the talk of Rihanna being the "new Beyonce" has clearly gone to her head.

The R&B starlet began throwing her weight around at Nottingham's Oceana club after playing the city's Hallam FM Arena on Monday. Like a true diva, Rihanna demanded the VIP section be cleared, champagne on the house, and burgers all round. When staff politely pointed out that they weren't a fast-food joint, the stroppy 18-year-old - whose hits include Pon De Replay and SOS - ordered her flunkies to get a takeout.

Oceana's deputy manager Barry James tells us: "Rihanna was an absolute nightmare, she was being a right diva. "She turned up unexpectedly and her management ordered us to clear the entire VIP section. They wouldn't let anybody within about five foot of her.

"Then she demanded burgers for all 17 of her entourage and when we explained we weren't a burger bar she sent someone out to McDonald's.

"Rihanna and her people also expected free Dom Perignon champagne and vodka all night. In the end we had to ask them to leave if they weren't going to buy any drinks at all - at which point they dipped in their pockets.

"We wouldn't have minded if she hadn't been such a nightmare."

R&B beauty Rihanna has defended the speedy release of her latest album, as she prepares for her third LP in two years to hit shelves.
The singer insists record label bosses at Def Jam are so sure of her talent, they will continue to bombard the charts with her singles and albums. She says, "It's a nonstop pace, very speedily, and Def Jam does not play, that's all I can tell you. "We just keep going and going - it's fun, we make sure that we have fun while we do it. "My sound has changed. It's a lot edgier than the rest of the stuff that anyone has heard from me before. I'm singing about different things, it's a lot sexier." An industry source just called and told me that Beyonce is threatening not to show at this year's MTV Movie Awards because Rihanna is scheduled to appear as well. I guess there is some truth to the Rihanna-Jay Z romance after all.

I'd like to imagine a confrontation between Beyonce and Rihanna at the awards starting off with B. saying, "That's it, bitch. You're out of the band." And Rihanna goes, "What band? Rihanna’s Childhood Struggles

What an interview! Rihanna confessed to watching her father struggle with a crack addiction as a young child. Thankfully, he quit that horrible habit for the sake of his family. Now, her life has made a turn for the better and has future plans of beginning a swimsuit or clothing line. Either way, this girl has a huge future ahead of her.
On her family:

“I knew that my mom and dad would argue when there was foil paper with an ashtray. He would just go into the bathroom all the time. I didn’t know what it was. But he knew that to get closer to his kids he had to cut that out. And he did.

“My mom raised me to be a child and know my place but also to think like a woman. She never held back from me in terms of being too young to know certain things, so I am very mature for my age. In this business you have to work with the things that get thrown your way — the good, the bad and the ugly. “My family keeps my feet on the ground so I don’t get too ahead of myself.”

On her life philosophy:

“Believe in yourself. A dream is but a dream. But if you want it to come true you really have to fight and pursue. I had no intention of being an entertainer only in Barbados. I always looked to the big picture. I pursued my dream and it came true.”

On her passion to sing:

“Growing up, I always sang. But no one was pushing me to do it. It was something that I wanted to do. So I developed a passion for it, fell in love with music and developed my own style.”/p>

On future plans:

“I would like to probably start some companies like a make-up company, a clothing line or maybe a swimsuit line.”

Rihanna rocks my world

I am soooooooooooooooooo glad to have a break from drawing Paris. I feel like I've been in heiress detox all day. I drank three cups of green tea, didn't read any blogs, and plugged my ears when I heard her name mentioned on CNN. As part of my recovery today, I thought it would be nice to create a pretty painting of a celebrity I like.

I am intrigued by the Barbados songstress Rihanna. She looks so perfect, like she was created in photoshop. I like her songs, I like her videos, and from interviews I've seen, I like her. I appreciate that somehow, miraculously, there can be a pop star whose exposed crotch I haven't seen, isn't in rehab, isn't getting in fights with other stars, and who isn't in prison. Amazing.

Even Aliens Love Planet Earth



It's Live Earth all day today in like a million cities or something. The aliens were represented with the hottest alien of them all, Rihanna. Rihanna has vowed her ten-date UK tour in December is "gonna be awesome" and said that she is looking forward to playing for her British fans again. Rihanna shrugs off Hartnett rumors



NEW YORK - Rihanna continues to shoot down rumors that she hooked up with actor Josh Hartnett.
"This is what really happened," the 19-year-old singer tells Allure magazine. "He and my management, they have each other's contact information. I went to (the New York club) Pink Elephant, and he came by. All of a sudden, the next day, I'm seeing that we were kissing and hugging up each other."

"You can't even go out with a friend who's a celebrity and have a good time without people making (bleep) up," Rihanna says in the magazine's January issue. "Well, at least he's good-looking, right?"

Rihanna said: "Fame is lonely. At first, I was on an adrenaline high - this is my dream. I'm actually doing it, it didn't phase me that I was alone, that I wasn't with the people I love. But after a while it gets repetitive and that is when you think,'Oh wow, I am sitting in a hotel room once again, just me and the television.'

"When you are in the spotlight, people are like, 'What do you have to worry about?' They forget that the success is one great aspect of your life, but behind that there are problems, there are dark sides, there is loneliness and unhappiness."

Rihanna was at Macy's in NYC today whoring out her umbrella collection. She's just making that money. I'm a little disappointed that the umbrella isn't covered with her picture with the words "ella ella" written all over it and that it doesn't play her song when open it followed with a voice-over telling you that her album is in stores now. Her marketing team is slacking.

The alien princess is looking darling as always. I just want to pinch her cute cheeks and then kick her in the shins. I'll ignore the fact that her shoes don't match her make-up which really bothers me. What kind of homo is styling her? Her new hair is very Zac Efron, very alter boy.

RiRi threw up her hands like "What's wrong?!" Lovers quarrel in front of Beyonce. Jay was probably feeling Beyonce's laser stares on him and he knew there would be hell to pay. All the Knowles women would be on his ass like 3 parrots on one cracker. RiRi and Jay-Z also kept their distance while accepting the award.

People are looking into this too much. RiRi's powerful alien grasp was too much for Jay. She was hurting him. He had Beyonce's laser beam eyes burning into his head and then he had RiRi's alien claw breaking his bones. I would have kept my distance too. Shit, I would have run out of there and caught the next flight to Honduras.

RiRi was involved in a minor car accident after she left the Grammys last night. ExtraTV reports that RiRi was inside her car when it was rammed by another car. Actually, Beyonce probably sent Solange out to do her dirty work. Solange always gets caught up in the drama. Beyonce promised her that she could sing back-up on her next track. It's good to see Beth Ditto even though she looks like one big Nerf ball. I'm also a little weepy that she didn't bring it all out for the Brit Awards and by "all out" I mean show her ass. I'm sure she will by the end of the night when she's had too many Fuzzy Navels. That dress will be on the floor and I probably will regret what I wished for.

Barbados honors singer Rihanna

Barbados has named Rihanna as an honorary cultural ambassador for her native Caribbean island.

Prime Minister David Thompson made the announcement at a rally Thursday night in the capital, Bridgetown, to honor the 20-year-old singer, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

Thompson said the government also was recognizing Rihanna's contributions by giving her a "piece of the rock" — a plot of real estate in the exclusive Apes Hill area of St. James parish.

Other honorary ambassadors for Barbados include Obadele Thompson, an island-born sprinter who won the bronze medal in the 100 meters at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Rihanna burst onto the music scene in 2005 with her debut album "Music of the Sun." Her megahit "Umbrella," released last May, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed there for seven weeks.
