Okay, wait a minute. I thought it "sucks to be Minnie Driver"? Pretty sad state of affairs for your Hollywood career when no one mentions it when Minnie sleeps with a married man, and Cammy gets all the press!

    Brittany Murphy

Oh Brittany. Poor Brittany. But, if Anne Heche can recover her career, anyone can.

It sucks getting old. Just wait. Your mind feels 25 forever and your body looks like it has lived every moment you've been in it. Advertising campaigns become mysterious. Then it dawns that you're not in the target audience anymore! Even though you now have money to spend! You see a hot guy and have to remember that you're old enough to be his mother! Wow, MC. Very accurate description. Anyone notice all the senior health care and incontinence advertisements that use phrases like "right on" and "groovy"? I realized with horror that the hippies are retirement age!!

Thanks Soho! And while I'm here, I'm so bummed about Adam Carolla's quote because I think that society accepts the prejudice against fat people too readily. And I admit, when I used to get mad at someone who was overweight, that was the FIRST insult that entered my head. I'm working on it.....

Thanks everyone, for your input, I do appreciate it. Bobby, I would say that "anger" is a pretty strong word in this situation because, as was pointed out, this is merely a blog. When I stop and think about it, I have never felt personally attacked, so all's well in my world. Okay, now someone needs to get down to the real business at hand and answer my question in the Lindsay thread about WHAT WAS ON THAT VIDEO! I'm one of those who couldn't open it! Regards to all of you!

Oh, I assure you I am not being tongue in cheek at all. Nor am I in any way diminishing what homosexuals, and (in my opinion) to a lesser degree, minorities, have to endure. I learned a long time ago, through personal experience, that you can't explain the subtle slights to a class that doesn't have to put up with the things you do (my own is being a woman in the corporate world, and my experience was trying to explain, to a man, how demeaning it was that women were always being held to do the menial chores at the office, such as make coffee, taking minutes, covering for the receptionist at lunch, etc. The man's attitude was: what's the big deal about making coffee? This from someone who never had to make coffee, but would be horrified if he was asked to. Anyway, you may think that is stupid, but it isn't to me) To summarize: I think you can't know what someone experiences unless you walk in their shoes, and therefore I TRY not to make judgements about the validity of claims of those who feel persecuted. But the politically correct, liberal crowd is much more virulent in expressing their opinions than the more conservative among us. And I've received SEVERAL private messages from folks on this board that agree with my views, but are afraid to express them because they are attacked. Just because I am white, conservative and Christian doesn't mean I "shove my beliefs down your throat." I don't. I honestly don't care about anyone's sexual orientation, religion or race. I have beliefs that center around the conduct of people amongst each other. Rosie may be a lesbian, but she's one mean, obnoxious bitch, and SHE is accountable for her actions, not Elisabeth. Being a lesbian doesn't give her special privileges, right?

Okay, in regard to all comments on Elisabeth being stupid: Elisabeth: Graduated from Boston College in 1999 Rosie: Dropped out of Boston University after 1 year. Now I'm not saying that a college education makes you smarter, but you can't say it makes you dumber. Both have done things to give back to their community (Elisabeth taught in Belize for a period, and Rosie's charities are well known because she talks about them incessantly) Someone needs to explain to me why it is wrong to slur "minorities" and homosexuals: but it is open season on blondes, Christians, conservatives and heterosexuals, to name only a few. Just sayin'.

Sorry folks, I'll just come out and say it. My views are far closer to Elisabeth's than Rosie's. So have at it, call me a mofo or whatever, I don't care.

    Charlie Sheen

Who was it (WC Fields? Groucho Marx?) who said that he is suspect of anyone who would want to be his friend? I think this applies to Charlie Sheen: any documentary looking for CHARLIE SHEEN as its spokesperson... red flags should be flying.

It will be VERY interesting to see how Rosie blames Elisabeth or Barbara for the certain fall out from this video. It reminds me of my joke with my husband: anytime ANYTHING bad happens to his ex-wife because of her stupid decisions, I am somehow at fault. And I'm talking things like DUIs, cats dying, white laundry turning pink, etc. The best part of this video: gone is any delusion that leaving was Rosie's idea!

This is the most amazing piece of stupidity I have ever seen. I'm with you, Cruzin: Wow. Infantile. I almost had to turn it off when Rosie talked about how people in Broadway shows have a sense of comraderie and cover for each other, blah blah. Yeah, Rosie. It's Elisabeth's job to cover for your caustic, nasty personality. I'm still listening as I write this.... I'm in the "questions" from fans section. Seriously, it's like slowing down to look at a 10 car pile up on the freeway. Oh man, I'm so done, one quesion just specifically blamed Elisabeth...

Agreed. I seemed to notice though...things have settled down on the board for a bit...I can't imagine why. Yea, me neither.... Maybe the answer is obvious ( I am out of the loop), but can I ask why things are calmer?? We need something really cool to snark on,.... where is that Andrew Morton book????

Gotta say, the kilt pictures (that is what that is, right?).... don't know many guys that can pull that off, but this guy sure can.

Have to laugh at the Alicia Silverstone move! It only makes Elisabeth look better!

    Rosie O'Donnell

I agree with you totally! Me too. But my final word on Rosie: I used to like her because she seemed to have a lot of heart. It seems like ever since she came out, it's been "game on." I could care less about her sexual orientation. Consider this: why is she so mean all of a sudden? My observations in life are that happy people don't feel the need to be so defensive and ballistic. Shouldn't she be HAPPY?? She's got a life partner and kids she adores, so what's up? And who cares what a ridiculous turkey like Donald Trump thinks of anything? But obviously, his comments stuck. Too bad. I'd like to see the old Rosie back. Rosie isn't suited to politics anymore than most of us are, it would be nice to have her stick to what she's best suited. And by the way, I thought Elisabeth did a damn good job of standing up for herself. I would have been in tears.

    Justin Timberlake

Where is that "who don't you get?" thread when you need it? I've NEVER seen anything even remotely attractive about this guy. The short hair is better than the hideous 'fro of yesteryear, but still.

    Rosie O'Donnell

I'm so glad Rosie is gone. Donald Trump is a joke himself, but he got it right: Rosie was just plain loud and mean. The fact that she brought up "poor little Christian, hetero Elisabeth" (or whatever) shows that the things Donald said really DID bother her, and she decided to take it out on Elisabeth. Why are Elisabeth's opinions less valid than Rosie's? Because Rosie is PC? No one can say shit about Rosie without being accused of being a "hater" and homophobic. Rosie is a pig because Rosie is a pig. It's a bummer because I used to like her alot, before she decided to become a professional victim.

    John Mayer

Okay, is it me, or did Ted out John Mayer as two old blind vices, as a golden showers boy: and as the guy who has sex to his own music? I tried to find the BIs, but had no luck...

    Roseanne Barr

I love Roseanne. I enjoy her old shows much more now that I'm a parent. Her shows, and the old Cosby shows. I can TOTALLY relate to Bill's frustration about not being able to get grown kids to MOVE OUT!

For the record, she absolutely SUCKED in Dancing last night. It was pathetic. The judges fell all over themselves to praise her, and she got the same scores as Ian Zeiring, who, by the way, was awesome, even if they didn't show some major mistake he made toward the end.

I've never voted before, but I split my votes between Ratzenberg and Miss USA-or-whatever. I figured they had the least chance of getting a lot of votes, so I wanted to ensure they got more than the Golddigger. Did any of you see when she was "making funny faces" (cross-eyed and cheeks puffed, for crying out loud) at the camera? What a friggin loser.

They do kind of have that with judges. (I've only watched occasionally). But the beauty of Heather's position is that anyone who criticizes her would be deemed cold and heartless. She is, after all, an amputee . It's like she has a golf handicap going in. If I were the other contestants, I'd be pissed. Everyone has to work their asses off for that show and Heather will always have a reason for not turning in a perfect performance. It's just wrong. I agree, it would be politically incorrect on all sides to critisize her. that is why it is up to the audience. And for those of you who haven't seen the show, it really is pretty amazing and entertaining. There is always an emotional underdog (Jerry Springer was downright beloved by the time he got voted off, and rightfully so)... I think the producers think it will be Heather this year. Here's to voting for anyone but her.

I've never voted on Dancing with the (ahem) Stars, but I'll vote for EVERYONE ELSE to get her ugly mug off that show. Chit Chat Campaign anyone?
