Ah, he must have limited his account when the tweet took off, as they were public at first.

Funny, it feels like 16 months to me since we heard. Happy for them! I had wondered if she'd want to give birth in Barbados but I guess it's easier if she can do it in the US.....(I mean for citizenship, actually, not at all saying anything negative about actually giving birth in Barbados!!)

Rihanna gives birth, welcomes first baby with boyfriend A$AP Rocky https://pagesix.com/2022/05/19/rihanna-gives-birth-welcomes-baby-boy-with-boyfriend-aap-rocky/ Gosh, doesn't seem like it's been 9 months. Stupid pandemic makes time all wonky for me.

    Celeb Acts of Awesomeness

Steph Curry finished his bachelor's degree this year, 2022 from Davidson (also in NC! I have a couple friends who went there) Originally he was class of 2010 but clearly his basketball career led him astray. He finished online. Looks like online classes & the pandemic were great tools to help celebs finish their college educations!!

I should put this in music.....Wynonna and Brandi Carlile singing The Rose (a HUGE favorite of my childhood!!) at Naomi's remembrance celebration. Damn.

I've been reading this royal jewelry site for a few years now (I also read a royal hats blog 😉) Photos of the Queen looking supremely happy with her horses again. https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2022/05/sparkling-royal-jewels-at-the-royal-windsor-horse-show-finale.html#more-39761

She set herself up for this when she said she'd serve until she dies. Netherlands queen abdicated when she was tired of it and her son was ready and the entire family seems happy. ER2 was scarred by her uncle's abdication (and, more likely, her mother's lifelong reaction to it - including blaming her husband's rather early death on it, I believe) so there's no way she would consider. Sad, truly.

I mean, I know it’s a lifetime job, but how many of them live this long. I feel like it’s almost torturous to expect this old woman to do these things. Just let her go play with her horses and dogs. I think they tried to do that with the earlier statement that basically said don’t expect her to attend anything anymore, just be pleasantly surprised if she shows up to stuff. But then the press continues to speculate over every single event anyway. I mean aren’t people normally trying to convince their 70-year-old grandparents to take it easy? Can you imagine forcing your grandparents out in full regalia every day in front of thousands of people. I wish at this point she would just essentially let it go to Regency so she could get a break.. I don’t know if she would enjoy the break though.

OMG, off to check out fares to England this summer (maybe fall? 😉 ) I want to see the Queen's jewels on display - Windsor & Buckingham Palace! Bet they'll be so crowded though. https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2022/05/the-queens-royal-jewels-to-be-displayed-to-celebrate-the-platinum-jubilee.html

The Queen probably won't attend many of "her" Jubilee events, due to her health (Whatever it is - if it's her back & mobility only & they - horribly - don't want her seen/photographed in a wheelchair - or if it's other stuff going on - hell, she IS 96). Sad (esp the garden parties, which she is said to quite enjoy - no idea why they couldn't reschedule one to Windsor and set her up in a chair in a tent and let her participate in whatever way she can!) BUT she did make it to the horse show today! The woman knows what she loves!!! Chuck & Wills - you do the Parliament, that's boring! I'm saving my energy for the horsies - they're better than politicians any day 😉 https://twitter.com/royalfocus1/status/1525061318776172547?s=20&t=-1T-UaIqRpFHHJyz4xJj8w

I think this is awesome (and I had a hard time finding a good thread for this 😉) Anthony Anderson finished his undergrad degree - spurred on by his son being accepted at Howard, he finished his course requirement online and graduated this month! https://www.celebitchy.com/766591/anthony_anderson_graduated_from_howard_university_30_years_in_the_making/ Mostly I've seen athletes doing this (a former basketball player where I work finished his degree 15 or more years after he started and attended commencement last week!) I know Leah Remini is starting her degree (NYU). I've seen a bunch of other actors talking about taking courses during the pandemic (and it's driving me crazy I can't remember who I just saw recently on tv who'd studied policy - didn't say she'd done a degree, but....) I think it's cool! Whether it's showing your kids you can finish what you start, or doing more courses because they interest you or you want a new career direction, I'm all for celebs going to college!!

Possible to sniff liquid ammonia to elicit tears or possible that Amber Heard is considered on the A- list?????

    Johnny Depp

ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 05/06 **3** It was not coke that the A- list actress was sniffing in court, it was a liquid ammonia that was allowed to dry on the tissue, which would allow her to cry more easily. Does anyone know if that's even possible?!?!

Another country music legend has gone forward: Mickey Gilley at the age of 86. https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/country-music-legend-mickey-gilley-dead-at-86/ar-AAX1Sji?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=2416abe3bfa04b5f87f4b4ce9b9ddc83 God bless you and his family always!!! Holly P.S. My most favorite songs from him are "That's All That Matters To Me" and "Paradise Tonight".

    Roe vs Wade

Thanks. I normally don't engage either, but I'm in a specific situation I must with an 80 year old privileged man.
  22. Hoyaheel

    Roe vs Wade

Banning abortion is religious discrimination (for Judaism). There are a lot of examples of how the Bible doesn't mention life begins until the first breath (eg after birth). And how the only mention of abortion is how to provide one (with "bitter waters"). But I generally ignore my religious conservative family discussions on this topic - I had to block on FB years ago anyway. US law believes life starts at birth. You don't get to drink at age 20yrs 2.5 months, you drink at 21. Vote at 18. drive at 16. Etc. [I just saw this argument on twitter - I don't actually like it but....it made me think differently at least!] I generally do not engage because I'm not going to change their minds. I will say I disagree and restate my bodily autonomy and freedom to make my own health care decisions. Their religious arguments don't sway me either, best to avoid if I can.

    Roe vs Wade

I know we all pretty much have the same political positions on this board, so no point in saying why this situation is horrifying. However, I have many hard core Republican family members that are spouting this cut & paste comment I've seen a lot: My question to members of this this - what is your response to this? Mine is "It's a clump of cells, not life. But if you feel that strongly about it, will you yourself personally adopt some of these babies that women will be forced to carry to full term if this passes?". Would love to see what your responses would be.

    Met Gala 2022

It didn't fit - that's why she had the fu shrug - to cover the lacing or pins or whatever was holding the non-functioning zipper in place. I mean, originally Marilyn was sewn into the dress. And that silk isn't made anymore because it's too dangerous (flammable). I read way too many archivists and costumers horrified on twitter, agree it was just a bad ego-driven decision. (ego on KK's part AND Ripley AND the Monroe estate who ble$$ed this - there's more interest in Marilyn now than in years and that just means more $$)

    Met Gala 2022

It kills me that they let Kim wear Marilyn's actual dress for even five minutes. Historic dresses should be kept in a museum and not worn. Wearing them ruins them. The body oils, make up, etc. will degrade them. Plus she stepped on it at one point, and I heard that even with the massive weight loss her rear end still didn't fit into it so god knows what they did to get it on her. I'm with the many costume historians that are outraged by her being allowed to wear the dress at all. I also didn't think it looked good on her (Marilyn she is not) and the hair was atrocious.

    Met Gala 2022

I just see it as another example of her huge huge ego.

    Met Gala 2022

Guess I'm the minority here. I thought the dress looked great. Not a fan of the hair/makeup either, but I thought the dress looked good.
