  1. But he did make a public campaign out of the issue. In October 2013, West told Ryan Seacrest, “There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. … and collectively we’re the most influential with clothing.”

How in the world can Kim Kardashian be intriguing? She's had her hoo ha displayed in a sex tape, she's been married 3 times, she posts allegedly non-doctored selfies of herself (not herself and her baby, just herself) nearly every other day, and she supposedly "donates" her clothing for sale on eBay (after sewing in smaller size tags) for charity and only gives about 10% of that money to a charity that pays it's top 7 earners between $212K and $422K. How is she intriguing, Kanye? Can ya formulate some words and explain? :3huh:

  2. That's a great book, Serendipity!

I'm in a bit of a reading slump right now ... Can't seem to find something good :/

Finished the book and really loved it. So much, in fact, that it's been hard to start another book because I'm not ready to leave the vibe of Shadow behind. After a couple of weeks I went for a fun-read mystery, Jezebel in Blue Satin by Peter S. Fischer. Good narrative (I kept hearing Dick Powell's voice as the lead character) and colorful, which is likely due to the author also having being a screenwriter.

Th is a sequel to Shadow of the Wind.

The Angels Game - I just opened it today and began reading it on my lunch break! I love how this author can draw me in to the story in just a paragraph or two.

  4. It pains me to admit that I know this, but Justin Bieber is in town for a little vacay with his girl Selena. They rode segways through some fields and then stayed in a seaside resort. Well, the daughters of a local mucky-muck got wind of his stay and wanted to see if they could spot them, so the girls went down to the beach below the resort and sure enough, they were walking along the sand. Selena was in a blonde wig. The Biebs realized they were recognized and he and Selena took off running... and Selena's blonde wig fell off! Classic! No word on whether the two girls grabbed it for sure-fire spending money on eBay.

  5. Shadow of the Wind, by Spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It was written in 2001 and translated to English in 2004. It's so descriptive in the way it's written that it took only a few paragraphs before I got that "it's drawn me in" feeling.

The best way to describe it is from the book flap itself:

"Barcelona, 1945: A city slowly heals in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, and Daniel, an antiquarian book dealer’s son who mourns the loss of his mother, finds solace in a mysterious book entitled The Shadow of the Wind, by one Julián Carax. But when he sets out to find the author’s other works, he makes a shocking discovery: someone has been systematically destroying every copy of every book Carax has written. In fact, Daniel may have the last of Carax’s books in existence. Soon Daniel’s seemingly innocent quest opens a door into one of Barcelona’s darkest secrets--an epic story of murder, madness, and doomed love."

  6. This one went over most of my friends' heads (and actually, now that I read what I wrote I'm not surprised), but one year I dressed in a flowing, art nouveau type gown, tied a long scarf around my neck and on the end tied it to the spokes of my bicycle tire. I was Isadora Duncan.

    TMZ

Lindsay Lohan may have been reaching in the wrong direction last night because it looks like her hand was going straight for a wine bottle.

The pic was taken at a Hollywood Hills home where Lindsay was hanging out before attempting to catch a red eye back to NY. Lindsay got to the airport too late and missed her flight.

There are no photos of Lindsay actually clutching the bottle or drinking but the evidence is ominous.

TMZ has learned Lindsay sent her sober coach packing. The coach had stayed with LL in NY after she left rehab, but has now returned to Cali full-time. We're told LL told him she can do it on her own now.

Have to say, if someone is going to the trouble of probably hiding in the bushes and taking suggestive photos of Lindsay maybe or maybe not going for a wine bottle, why stop there unless she really wasn't drinking?

  8. TMZ

Amanda Bynes' mom is dropping her bid to get a permanent conservatorship, but not because she's turning her back on her very ill daughter ... it's because she already has the ammo she needs to protect her.

Amanda's mom was slated to go to court Monday to make the temporary conservatorship permanent. But here's the deal. Amanda is currently on an LPS hold -- translation, doctors have a tighter rein on Amanda than her mother would have with a conservatorship.

And there's a twist. Doctors have given Amanda's mom the power to make medical and financial decisions for her daughter under the LPS hold.

The mom has already exercised her power by getting Amanda admitted long term to UCLA Medical Center.

Bottom line. There's no need for a conservatorship anymore, so she's withdrawn her petition.

And finally, and sadly, we're told there has been no real improvement in Amanda's condition.

Wow, LPS conservatorships are serious business. What a downfall for Amanda.

  9. The LAPD closed out its investigation last night, and as TMZ first reported, cops say they had a face to face with Shelly. They did not indicate if they probed as to whether Shelly was being held against her will.

I'm feeling cynical today. Was this cop a Scientologist?

I highly doubt that cops make enough money to be scientologists

Top step pay for LAPD beat officers (not including OT) is $85K. Detectives, $115K+, Chief, $250K+. Not exactly the highest of rollers, but apparently LAPD allegedly has some ties to the Scientologists.

Apologies to your eyes - this is white font on a black background and if you read it, you'll still be able to see it when you close your eyes.

  10. Missing adult cases are interesting because the person is an adult and can stay away from whomever they want. It gets more complicated if the missing person is mentally unstable. I would guess that LAPD made contact (probably with Shelly, maybe not - remember when there were pics of Tom Cruz holding hands with a "pregnant," sunglassed, glove-wearing "Katie?" Wasn't her, but someone dressed up sto look like Katie and mislead the public) and the adult woman told them she was fine and not being held against her will. And she was probably spoken to in the company of others (Scientologists) so her answer may not have been candid or truthful.

I like Gov Marley's thought - maybe the cop was a Scientologist.

  11. honest to god she has to be the least attractive woman on so many levels. and i agree he doesnt strike me as good lay.

I loved her before too much plastic surgery ruined her face:
