Brooke Shields’ mother, Teri, was reportedly checked out of her nursing home on Thursday by National Enquirer journalists looking for a “tabloid story,” the star claimed to People. Teri, 75, has dementia and was reportedly found next door at a restaurant in Old Tappan, New Jersey, later that day talking to a reporter. “I intend to take every lawful action against all who were involved or who authorized this despicable act,” Brooke said in a statement to People. “For her safety, she has temporarily been in a senior living facility, a very difficult decision for me,” the star continued. “Late Thursday afternoon, I was alerted by Old Tappan Police that my mother had been signed out of the facility by two reporters of the National Enquirer … who falsely claimed they were friends of hers.” Brooke went on to call the alleged actions “reprehensible and disgusting,” claiming that “they then drove my 75-year-old mother around looking for a tabloid story. As anyone who has a parent who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s, it is one of the most difficult experiences you can go through as a son or daughter.” Old Tappan Police Department Captain Thomas Shine told the mag that Teri “wasn’t harmed in any way shape or form” when they found her at the restaurant with what he calls “some form of journalist, I think a freelance journalist.” Officers were called to the nursing home at 3 PM on Thursday after Teri had been checked out, he added. “It was more along the lines that she had been allowed to leave, based upon their protocol or policy,” he said. The journalist “did sign her out and was allowed to leave by personnel,” he continued, adding that “the part we’re investigating here is who allowed her to leave the facility. It appears that there were some permissions that were given for Mrs. Shields by the family, be they written, be they verbal – we’re investigating – to allow her visitation for a variety of different reasons.” Reportedly, no charges have been filed as of yet. Spokespersons for the National Enquirer and the Old Tappan police did not immediately return inquiries when contacted by Access Hollywood.

This was one of the best season finales I've ever seen. I think Miles was right and they created the Incident like it has always happened. Chang lost his hand during it, and as far as can I remember he lost it during the Incident since he was fine on one station orientation video and he had a prostetic arm in the Swan video. Obviously they are still going to built the Swan(and Radzinski is still going to blow his brains out in it) if we keep going with the mindset of whatever happened, happened. They are either taking a break because their people have told then it's really bad publicity, or they are taking a break because her people finally managed to talk some sense into her. I'm afraid it's the first option.

Mekhi Phifer on Chris Brown: "People Make Mistakes" Los Angeles (E! Online) – Chris Brown's friend and onetime movie costar Mekhi Phifer says no matter what happens between Brown and Rihanna, he wishes "them both the best." While not making any apologies for Brown's alleged assault, Phifer thinks his age, 19, was a big factor in what went down between the two singers. "People make mistakes—and while I don't condone what happened that night, you know, what Chris did to her—I remember being young, 19, and at that age it seemed like everything was so over-the-top, and everyone's so passionate about things at the age," Phifer told us at this weekend's World Poker Tournament Invitational at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. Phifer and Brown costarred in the 2007 dramedy This Christmas. Phifer was also an executive producer of the flick, which told the story of a family that reunites for the holidays for the first time in four years. Phifer says the Grammys eve incident will likely impact the singers' careers, but no one can predict how much and in what ways. "I think this whole thing will affect him, and I think it will affect her," he said. "With both of them, their fan base is mainly women and kids, so I don't know what kind of example that leads, but like I said, I wish them all the best." Phifer has not spoken to Brown since the alleged assault and subsequent arrest, but says he has a "circle of people" to lean on. Phifer hit the three-day poker event because proceeds from the tournament benefited the former ER star's charity, the Vine Group USA, a nearly 10-year-old organization that provides educational assistance throughout Africa.

I don't want to be a big old cynic here, but how long until those pictures make it onto the internet? I don't really care for Rihanna as a singer, but man, poor girl. It sickens me that there might not be any charges filed against him and no matter the reason(not buying the herpes story either) this should never have happened.

They sure do.. Hopefully Barbara Walters does not come calling and his practiced sad face does not bail him out. AND I hope she does not stick around. Absolutely, I hope she packs her bags and never get near him again.
