  1. Not anouncing divorce yet... but doesn't look promising...

"Marc Mezvinksky, the Stanford grad-turned-investment banker who married Chelsea Clinton last summer, is taking a few months off to hone his skiing technique.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, Mezvinksky left his job at New York-based hedge fund G3 Capital before the holidays and has been hitting the powder at Jackson Hole, Wyo., ever since. But it's OK, maritally speaking - Chelsea plans to fly in for a visit every few weeks or so.

G3 Capital must have one heck of a vacation benefit.

Traditionally, a young man becomes a ski bum before beginning his "real life" - a serious job and marriage. He rents out a house with 12 buddies, sleeps on a couch and works as a lift attendant or "pearl diver" (dish washer) in return for a season pass and beer money.

Mezvinksky's trajectory of banker to married-man-with-famous-wife to ski bum presumably guarantees more comfortable accommodations without scrubbing pots. Still, leaving your bride of less than a year alone in your Fifth Avenue apartment for months doesn't look good.

Someone might get the impression the marriage is going downhill.

  2. (PEOPLE) -- Charlie Sheen isn't being treated in a traditional facility for his latest round of rehab, relying instead on professionals who'll help him in private, his manager tells PEOPLE.

"Charlie has put together a team that he trusts to help get him sober once and for all," says Mark Burg, who is also a producer of "Two and a Half Men."

Sheen, 45, began treatment over the weekend after more widely reported partying and a trip to the hospital with abdominal pain.

His highly successful show is now hiatus during his rehab. Burg says that CBS and Warner Bros., the studio behind the show, will "work around Charlie's sobriety schedule."

"Everybody hopes his recovery is quick and new episodes are back on the air as soon as possible," says Burg.

  3. Sources close to Lohan tell us ... Lindsay is "worried" about Sheen because his most recent bender shows "obvious signs of addiction" ... something Lindsay knows about all too well.

But after Sheen decided to check himself into a treatment center Friday afternoon, Lohan is confident he can get his life back together ... if he commits himself to sobriety.

We're told Lindsay "understands the problem of having the wrong people around and wants Charlie to understand that he needs to surround himself with positive, sober people."

  4. Lame:

Move over, Jenny McCarthy! Months after splitting with McCarthy, actor Jim Carrery, 49, has eyes set on someone else apparently. According to sources close to the popular actor, he is dating a woman that is 25 years younger than him. The young lady, who apparently stole the heart of the actor, is none other than 24 year old hottie, Anchal Joseph. Never mind if you did not know her, because now, she will become more famous for being linked with Jim Carrey. etidbits.com

  5. "2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love...."

    Wow.

    How sweet.

I'm sure that Sandra Bullock was thrilled to read that they year when her heart was ripped out and stomped on in front of the entire world - not to mention when she had to get every STD test in the book - was the best year of her ex'es life. Deeeelightful.

  6. This is a really juicy piece of gossip when you take it in context. Melissa Etheridge is now dating her ex wife Tammy Lynn Michael’s former best friend, who served as the “best woman” at their commitment ceremony in 2003. (Tammy Lynn and Melissa never legally married when it was possible before Prop 8 passed, but they did have a traditional-type wedding.) We heard all sorts of drama about Melissa and her ex when they broke up last year. Michaels complained on her blog that Etheridge wasn’t providing enough support for her to feed and house their now four year-old twins, and Etheridge’s lawyer countered that his client was providing $2,000 a month and paying all the bills. When you consider how wealthy Melissa is, that really isn’t that much. Last year, Tammy’s lawyer told In Touch that Tammy suspected Melissa was cheating. He said, “There were all the usual signs. Strange comings and goings and lots of days and nights absent.” Now we may know who the other woman is.

[Melissa Etheridge] is “hot and heavy” with Hollywood producer/writer Linda Wallem, the creative force behind the hit cable TV series “Nurse Jackie,” according to an insider.

“Linda has been talking constantly on the set about how she and Melissa are in love and how they’re in a committed relationship,” the insider said.

    - From Celebitchy

Melissa and Linda - who are both 49 and were born on the same day, May 29, 1961 - have known each other for years. Linda was the best friend of the singer’s ex partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, according to one of Tammy’s friends.

When Tammy and Melissa exchanged wedding vows in 2003 in a lavish ceremony at Dick Clark’s Malibu estate, Linda was in the wedding party.

“In lesbian terms, Linda was the ‘best lady,’” the friend said. “Now she’s taken Tammy’s place.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, January 24, 2011]

So did Melissa wait until she ended things with Tammy before taking up with their mutual friend? From the way Tammy explained Melissa’s behavior before their split, it’s doubtful.

Meanwhile Melissa’s new girlfriend might create a sitcom in which Melissa will star:

Linda is planning to write a sitcom for Melissa, described as a reverse “Will & Grace,” where the singer would portray a gay teacher living with a straight man.

And the pair want to collaborate on a musical play that Linda is developing.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition]

We haven’t heard much lately about Melissa and Tammy’s court battle for custody and support. It looks like Melissa has moved on while she’s left the mother of her children high and dry.

  7. I think someone in the Kennedy family or their entourage decided this miniseries didn't show the Kennedys as suficiently saint-like for their tastes and put political pressure on the History Chanel to have it pulled. The Kennedys are now a big Brand, valuable not only to themselves but also to the Democratic party, Massachussetts, ets, so there are lots of reasons to protect it. Things like misogyny and drug use must be swept under the rug at all costs.

  8. Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin have called it quits.

As first reported by Us Weekly, the Golden Globe-nominated actress' rep confirmed the couple's breakup to New York Post's Page Six on Monday; they first began dating in 2002.

"The split was amicable, and they remain close friends," Kunis' rep said.

According to a source, the couple went their separate ways months ago but decided to keep it quiet while Kunis, 27, promoted Black Swan.

The actress has been open about her fear of settling down with Culkin, 30, telling BlackBook in December 2009 that the prospect of marriage didn't appeal to her.

"Not to say that I don't believe in it, but it's just not something that's important to me," Kunis said of tying the knot. "But I will have children. I'm too selfish to have them now, but when I do, I don't feel like I need to be married. I need to have a person in my life who will care for me and my children -- nothing else."

  9. Celebrated British actor Pete Postlethwaite has died.

The 64-year-old passed away in a hospital in central England on Sunday, longtime friend Andrew Richardson told England's Press Association.

Postlethwaite had been battling cancer, he said.

The award-winning thespian had appeared in movies and television shows for years, but gained international fame as Mr. Kobayashi in 1995's "The Usual Suspects."

He followed the role with praised performances in numerous films, including "Brassed Off," "Romeo + Juliet" and "The Shipping News." He most recently appeared in last year's "Inception," "Clash of the Titans" and "The Town."

Director Steven Spielberg called Postlethwaite "the best actor in the world," and cast him in two of his movies in the 1990s, "The Lost World" and "Amistad."

In 1992, Postlethwaite was nominated for an Oscar for his performance opposite Daniel Day Lewis in "In the Name of the Father." He received the Order of the British Empire in 2004.

    LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian engaged

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian got engaged over the holidays, her rep tells People. Rimes, 28, sported a large diamond ring on a Malibu beach Monday. During a sitdown with ABC’s Robin Roberts that aired last month, the couple, who met filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights while both were married, said they hoped the fact that their romance continued a year and a half later could turn their affair from a tabloid story to a love story. Both Cibrian, 37, and Rimes, however, said they wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t: “Well, I can’t change their minds. Nothing I’m going to say is gonna change it. I do know that, and I have accepted that,” Rimes said when asked how she’d respond to people who consider her a homewrecker. “It happens every day to so many people. And if I take away my album sales, my awards, and you have just another couple — you have two couples whose marriages didn’t work, who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love. And never ever was I thinking of hurting someone.”

Cibrian shares custody of two sons, 7 and 3, with his ex, Brandi Glanville. Rimes’ ex, Dean Sheremet, announced his own engagement last month.

  13. (Reuters) - Actress Natalie Portman is engaged to a ballet dancer and choreographer and expecting her first child with him, People magazine reported on Monday.

The 29 year-old actress met the French choreographer, Benjamin Millepied, during the production of her newly released movie, "Black Swan," which has earned her Oscar buzz.

Millepied, born in Bordeaux, France, is a principal dancer and choreographer at the New York City Ballet.

In "Black Swan" Portman plays a New York ballerina whose obsession with technical perfection takes a heavy toll on her mind and body.

  14. David Thewlis and actress Anna Friel have split up after nine years of being together. They have one child, a 5-year-old daughter named Gracie.

Thewlis, 47, is best known for his role in the 'Harry Potter' series as Remus Lupin; Friel, 34, played Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles on TV series 'Pushing Daisies.'

The Daily Mail reports the couple have been apart for the last six months due to acting commitments. A source told the newspaper, "Things have not been great for a long time and they have tried to keep this quiet to protect everyone ... there are other issues at hand that have made them realize the relationship was over."

One of the 'other issues' may possibly actor Joseph Cross, 23, who Friel was spotted kissing last December. At the time Friel denied any romance and said that Cross was just a friend. Cross was Friel's co-star in the West End play 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.'

Even when Cross moved into the couple's Hollywood home in April, Thewlis was quoted as saying, "Joseph is a good friend of mine. I have no problem with him staying at my house."

A source close to Thewlis and Frield added: "They do care about each other very much, and the most important thing now is that they both continue to be the best parents they can be for Gracie."

Thewlis and Friel will be next seen acting together in the upcoming film 'London Boulevard,' which also features Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell.

  15. "Yet another Hollywood couple is calling it quits.

"Nip/Tuck" star Dylan Walsh filed for divorce on Friday from actress Joanna Going, his wife of six years.

Photo gallery: This year's biggest Hollywood splits

According to court documents, Walsh, 47, cited irreconcilable differences, and seeks joint legal and physical custody of Stella, their 7-year-old daughter.

The actor will be paying spousal support to Going, 47.

It's the second marriage for the actor, who was married to "The Office" alum Melora Walters for seven years.

  16. I didn't know what thread to put these in so I figured this would be most appropriate.

    from eonline:

    "Dear Ted:

Just read that Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are divorcing. Might his Vicey habit(s) be partially responsible for the split?

    Dear Dexter Dunzo:

Well aren't you a little detective yourself! That would be yes. More to come. And I don't mean in a Blind Vice this time, either."

and from Lainey (I assume it's about Michael C. Hall and Julia Stiles):

    About that breakup

I mentioned yesterday that there are a few more details about one of the recent splits announced in Hollywood this week. Turns out there was someone else: his love interest this season on his tv show. Their chemistry was so crazy and so evident to everyone that writer and producers, seeing it play out on set, actually cranked up their sex scenes to capture it for show. Her career has seen a resurgence since.

Eventually the two fell in love. They were together, very close, at a Halloween party in New York this fall hosted by a famously controversial writer (this isn’t a super important detail) and those who observed them that night are not surprised now that he’s ended it with his wife.

Neve Campbell is “doing great” in the wake of her marital split being made public.

The ‘Scream’ actress – whose petition to divorce John Light after three years of marriage was filed several months ago but only revealed this week – insists she is not struggling with being single again and is looking forward to spending the festive season with her loved ones.

She told UsMagazine.com: "I'm always doing great. What will I be doing in the holiday season? Spending time with my family and friends. I'm really looking forward to that this year."

It was revealed this week that Neve cited "irreconcilable differences" with her English actor spouse as the reason behind the separation, which she filed documents for five months ago at Los Angeles County Superior Court.

She also wants to block the court from awarding him any spousal support, although the pair reportedly remain on good terms.

A source said: "They're still really close friends, and it was a very amicable divorce."

It is the second marriage split for the Canadian actress.

She broke-up from her first husband Jeff Colt after three years of marriage in 1998.
