  1. Collin Farrell is surprising

This one didn't surprise me. I thought the rumor was she lost her virginity to him in the middle of a party on a pool table when she was like 16? Maybe I'm mis-remembering the rumor. I'll try to find a link somewhere. After I heard that, I thought to myself, "No wonder she's so messed up."

I remembered this too when I saw her list. It was on the BI Forum:

    QUOTE (broke463 @ Dec 28 2006, 08:39 AM)

    has to be lohan...

a friend of mine was in LA this year and met a lady out one night who is in PR...she said that lohan was wasted at the bar one night and opened up to her. the woman said that lohan told her that she lost her virginity on a pool table in the middle of a party to colin farrell when she was 14. some of the details are off (maybe to make it a more interesting story) but it's too uncanny not to be true!

it made me really sad when she told me...i mean, in front of other people!? who would take advantage of a girl that young like that? oh yeah...maybe brett ratner.

The original BI from Page Six was this (as mentioned, Brett Ratner was the guess):

Which action director is still bragging to friends about his night of passion with a now-super-starlet on his pool table when she was only 16?

  2. Probably the most amazing child to ever be born to anyone, ever. Second only to Blue Ivy, of course.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Welcome Baby Daughter!

She's here! Kim Kardashian has given birth to a baby daughter, a hospital source confirms to Us Weekly. The E! reality star welcomed the tot with beau, Kanye West, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, Calif. Originally due July 11, the star couple's new bundle of joy arrived a bit early, and as a special (early!) Father's Day gift for West.

"Kim had her baby," a hospital source tells Us exclusively. "She's five weeks early. Kim got sick last night and had the baby early."

The source added, "They're all doing great and amazing!"

    More here

(I kind of hate myself for posting this.)

  3. From TMZ today:

    REESE WITHERSPOON ARRESTED

'You're About to Find Out Who I Am!'

Reese Witherspoon pulled her celebrity card out while her husband was getting arrested for DUI, telling the officer who ended up busted her, "You're about to find out who I am."

The arrests went down in Atlanta early Friday morning. Cops say they spotted Reese and her husband Jim Toth's car weaving in and out of lanes, so they pulled them over.

As officers dealt with Jim, Reese allegedly started acting up, telling cops, "Do you know my name?" The officer answered by saying, "No, I don't need to know your name."

Witherspoon then came back with, "You're about to find out who I am ... You are going to be on national news."

During Jim's arrest, Reese allegedly became ornery, demonstrating visual and verbal frustration over how long it was taking to arrest her husband. At one point, she got out of her car and the officer ordered her back inside. When she got out a second time, he arrested her for disorderly conduct, a municipal ordinance.

They were both taken to jail, booked, and released a short time later.

According to Variety, which broke the story, Toth's blood alcohol level was .139.

In Reese's defense maybe she played the celeb card because she had as much to drink as her hubby. Just sayin' ...

Edited to add Variety link with more details.

  4. Wasn't sure if I should post this in TV or movies... I probably chose the wrong place. Regardless, I'm so excited!

Funds are being raised on Kickstarter for the "Veronica Mars" movie. The total they are trying to raise is $2 million, and as of now are up to $1.8 million.

    From TVLine:

After nearly six years of wishing, hoping and dreaming, Veronica Mars fans can take one final, big-screen trip back to Neptune — provided that everyone chips in to get a feature film follow-up made.

As first reported by EW.com, series creator Rob Thomas and frontwoman Kristen Bell have launched a Kickstarter fundraising campaign that, if at least $2 million is collected by April 12, will guarantee the production and distribution of a Veronica Mars movie.

“Kristen and I met with the Warner Bros. brass, and they agreed to allow us to take this shot. They were extremely cool about it, as a matter of fact,” Thomas says on the Kickstarter page. “Their reaction was, if you can show there’s enough fan interest to warrant a movie, we’re on board.

“So this is it. This is our shot,” he stresses.”I believe it’s the only one we’ve got.”

The way Kickstarter works, for the uninitiated: People pledge dollars toward the funding of a project. Depending on the pledge point, “rewards” are available. In this case, $10 gets you a PDF of the shooting script, $25 gets a T-shirt thrown in, with $35 you’ll also get a digital copy of the movie before its limited theatrical release, and so on.

As Thomas notes, if just 80,000 of Mars‘ 3 million viewers chip in the most common Kickstarter pledge of $25, boom — LoVe is in the air!

If $2 mil is raised by April 12– when Bell has a window available to film it — the movie happens. If the goal is not met in time, you are charged not a penny and we say goodbye to Neptune forever

  5. GREAT article about how Cruise was once COS's golden boy but is now hurting more than helping.

From New York magazine's Vulture. Wayyy to long to post, read it here.

I pulled a few interesting paragraphs:

But then the Church pushed Cruise harder. According to [author Janet] Reitman, after the actor’s marriage to Nicole Kidman, Miscavige became frustrated by her indifference to Scientology. During the two-year period when the couple was under virtual lockdown in England on the set of Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, Miscavige was annoyed by his distance from the Church, both physically and emotionally. In response, Miscavige is rumored within the Church to have engineered the couple’s divorce, using the Church’s hold on Cruise to pry him away. More damaging still, Miscavige reportedly masterminded Cruise’s dismissal of his longtime publicist, the legendary Pat Kingsley, in favor of someone more responsive to Scientology’s demands — Church member and Cruise sister LeAnne DeVette.

    [...]

While Scientology was a subplot in the Cruise-Kidman split, it is the central story line to the TomKat story. So much so that a blanket denial by Cruise attorney Bert Fields was issued, in which he declared that “The Church of Scientology played absolutely NO ROLE in the divorce settlement talks at all. Period.” At the end of this, whatever truth may emerge, the damage has been done. It will be a very long time before anyone on the outside sees Scientology as just another harmless fad celebrity preoccupation again. And the irony is that Tom Cruise, the Golden Boy who was supposed to be the Church’s game-changer, the friendly face of Scientology, is now perceveived by many to be either a brainwashed dupe or a controlling Church henchman.

  6. Really good article about Scientology and the Cruise/Holmes divorce. Way too long to post, but well worth the read:

    Edited to fix broken link.

  7. The Observer sort of outed Chace Crawford.

Here's the beginning and end of the story:

At a crowded movie premiere in Midtown recently, The Observer witnessed a young movie and TV star—a dashing young man who’s been involved with several starlets despite whispers about his close relationships with other men—sitting for the entire party in close conversation with a well-groomed gent, even as his co-stars circulated. As we passed, the plus-one stared us down, as if to say, “Step off,” or perhaps, “Don’t you dare write about this.”

    ....

If he’s in fact gay, that’s a lesson Chace Crawford—the dashing, engrossed young man at the premiere—may do well to heed.

  8. I got the same warning the past two days. It said Fanchitchat had malware on it from a website originating in Russia. I don't remember the site other than it had the .ru at the end of it.

However, much to my glee, I didn't get the warning today!

  9. This article I posted yesterday has been taken down off the E! website. Lainey mentioned it today.

Exclusive! What Caused X-Men Director to Bolt From Hollywood?

    Today 12:01 PM PDT

UPDATE: Legal counsel for Matthew Vaughn strongly denies that his client had an affair with January Jones, or is the father of her expected child. We're also assured Mr. Vaughn does currently have laryngitis.

    _________

When Mad Men star January Jones announced she was pregnant April 28, everybody started asking: Who's the dad?

Nobody—January, in particular—is talking. On the record, that is.

Off the record, several sources from January's new film, X-Men: First Class, directed by Claudia Schiffer's British husband, Matthew Vaughn, say odd happenings occurred on the set, including a "very close" relationship with Jones.

Did they have an affair, and is Matthew January's baby daddy? Reps for January and Matthew aren't saying. But here's what we do know:

According to multiple knowledgeable X-Men sources, Vaughn and Schiffer, who were renting a house on Foothill Road in Beverly Hills, "abruptly" left town at roughly the same time Jones made her surprise baby announcement in April, even though the couple was tentatively scheduled to stay on through May.

"[Matthew] told us something about their house being renovated and they needed to get back," says a top-level X-Men source, who was directly involved in editing the summer flick, which opens June 3.

However, a representative for both Schiffer and Vaughn says the departure was not only always planned, but, also due to their children's school schedule, and that finishing up the mutant-franchise flick was unaffected. Another source on the film confirms that Vaughn's travel schedule doesn't seem to have adversely affected the film's scheduled opening.

But this is where things get weirder:

Both the Vaughn/Schiffer rep, as well as another production source (Fox, which is releasing the sequel, would not comment) said there would be no X-Men premiere, other than a "cast screening" in New York, which took place yesterday—January, among several other cast members, did show for the screening.

But the rep tells us Matthew could not attend the New York screening because of a "severe" case of tonsillitis.

Miraculously, though, Mr. Vaughn still seemed quite the chatty Cathy for X-Men interviews on the same day. His health seemed to be in tip-top shape, as the Brits would say.

Also healthy was Vaughn's time spent with Jones on set, say our X-Men insiders. Multiple sources from the set insist Jones and Vaughn were "very close" throughout shooting, as we have stated.

To which the Schiffer/Vaughn spokeswoman replied: "Matthew had a very good working relationship with all the actors during the making of this film."

Something's not adding up here, and it's not just Vaughn's dubious throat.
