    Kelsey Grammer & Camille Donatacci

Another Kid for Kelsey EOnline.com by Bridget Byrne Aug 30, 2004, 2:05 PM PT Just what the doctor ordered: a baby boy. Former Frasier Kelsey Grammer and his wife, Camille, have announced the birth of "a happy and healthy son." Jude Gordon Grammer was delivered by a surrogate mother at 4:11 a.m. Saturday in Sacramento, California, weighing in at 7 pounds 11 ounces. The Grammers already have a daughter, Mason Olivia, born in October 2001, also via a surrogate mother. As with Mason's birth mother, the identity of Jude's surrogate was not disclosed. Grammer, 49, is a triple Emmy winner for essaying neurotic shrink Dr. Frasier Crane in Cheers and Frasier . Like his former TV alter ego, Grammer is twice divorced: He and first wife Doreen Alderman split in 1990; he and second missus Leigh-Anne Cushany divorced in 1993. Grammer also has two other daughters: Spencer, 19, from his marriage to Alderman; and Greer, 12, from his relationship with makeup artist Barrie Buckner. Kelsey married the former Camille Donatacci, who turns 36 Thursday, in August 1997, after they met on a blind date the year before. She is an ex-Playboy Playmate and Club MTV dancer who now teams with her husband to speak out on irritable bowel syndrome, which she suffers from. Kelsey, who ended his 11-year run on Frasier (and his 20th overall as the character) in May, will next appear on television this Thanksgiving as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge in NBC's new version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, costarring Jason Alexander and Law & Order's Jesse L. Martin. Additionally, Grammer's Grammnet production company is responsible for the sitcom Girlfriends about to begin its fifth season on UPN, and he's producer and host of Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show, a hit in England, scheduled to premiere on Fox in January 2005.

    Matt Damon and Wife

histar.comMatt Damon is great friends with his girlfriend Luciana Barroso's five-year-old daughter, but insists he is not taking over the "daddy role". Damon brought aspiring interior designer Barroso, her mother and Barroso's daughter to Sydney last weekend for the Australian premiere of The Bourne Supremacy. Damon explains, "Without talking too much about her, because she's five and she didn't sign up for this, what I could say is that I am definitely not playing daddy. "She's got a great father, you know? The two of them split, but they're great parents in their own right." But the Oscar-winner admits he can relate to the child, because his own parents divorced when he was young.

    Lost Discussion

Kristin of E!Five New Fall Shows You Are Going to Love!#1 Choice:Lost (ABC)Wed.; premieres Sept. 22What It's About: Matthew Fox. Sweaty and sexy.Oh, sorry. Did you want me to say more? Well, this is the show everyone's been raving about, a small-screen series that looks and feels like a big-screen feature. It centers around plane-crash survivors who are stranded on a deserted island--including Matthew Fox (Party of Five) and the girl I'm expecting to be the biggest breakout star of the season: Evangeline Lilly. What You Need to Know: Lost is from JJ Abrams, the mastermind behind Felicity and Alias, who directed such a heart-pounding, compelling pilot for Lost--reportedly the most expensive pilot in TV history!--that it scored him a gig directing an itty-bitty movie you may have heard of: Mission: Impossible 3.And speaking of good people...did I mention how you will love Evangeline Lilly? She came from nowhere--okay, Vancouver really, but hadn't done a single oncamera role before Lost. By scoring the role of a lifetime as Matthew Fox's leading lady, she's following in the footsteps of Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner as JJ Abrams' next female protégé. It'd be easy to hate her, except she's oozing with charm and humility."Getting this part has changed my world, my life's upside down," Evangeline told me at an ABC party. "At times, it's exciting, and, at [other] times, scary. But the only emotion I can define that has never changed is gratitude. I know I'm out of my league." You'll know what a joke that is when you see it.Bottom Line: Lost is the best new show of the season.

DOWN ON BROWN Page Six FOXY Brown, you've worn out your welcome at the Louis Vuitton flagship on Fifth Avenue. A fed-up staffer called us Friday while the rapper was throwing a tantrum inside the store to plead for us to expose Foxy's abominable behavior. "She comes in here all the time and yells at people, curses at us, snaps her fingers at us. She's just awful. We've all had it." Foxy also has a habit of returning anything she buys if she doesn't get a "celebrity discount."

    Avril Lavigne

Alleged Stalker Targets Avril Lavigne Monday Aug 30, 2004 8:00am EST By Stephen M. Silverman CREDIT: INFGOFF.COM A man accused of harassing Avril Lavigne's parents and violating a court order by trying to contact the Canadian pop star has been charged with felony stalking. Prosecutors claim James Speedy began his obsession in 2003 by writing the pop star, and then followed by writing her parents once he discovered where they lived, the Associated Press reports. "He sent his letters by FedEx and complained when they were not answered," deputy prosecutor Janice Albert said in papers filed Friday in Snohomish County Superior Court. "He sent wine, photos, CDs and requests for contact. They never responded." According to Albert, Speedy acknowledged in a June 2003 letter to the family that his behavior was comparable to a stalker's. A month later, Canadian police found Speedy parked in a car near the Lavigne residence, Albert said. In another letter, which he allegedly referred to as a "courtesy notification," he wrote to say he was in Lavigne's hometown of Ontario but promised not to drive by her parents' house, spy on them or do "anything creepy." Despite a Canadian anti-harassment order, Speedy contacted Lavigne's agent this past March about the possibility of attending her Seattle-area concert so he could "knock fists" with Lavigne. Speedy was released on bail following his April 7 arrest. His arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 17.

    Jerry O'Connell & Rebecca Romijn

Romijn-Stamos Linked to O'Connell imdb.com Stunning actress Rebecca Romijn-Stamos has reportedly embarked on a new romance with Kangaroo Jack star Jerry O'Connell. The blonde beauty, whose husband John Stamos recently filed to divorce, has been spotted on the set of O'Connell's American TV show Crossing Jordan on numerous occasions, prompting speculation of a hot new relationship. A source says, "The first day Jerry brought Rebecca on the set, he literally paraded her all around to meet everyone. Each time he introduced her, he'd beam and say, 'Isn't she beautiful? Look show beautiful she is!' She blushed, but you could tell she loved the attention." O'Connell once dated former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. I liked Giuliana DePandi & Jerry O'Connell as a couple.

    Diva Behavior Reports

From the Daily News I'm obsessing over the interview with Thandie Newton in the latest issue of Trace magazine. First of all (you'll have to imagine the snaps), she doesn't even want an Oscar, okay? "The Oscars mean nothing to me now," she says. "After 'Beloved,' I realized that a lot of people in the Academy just don't get to watch a lot of the movies that come out." Newton, who left icicles on my notepad after my own brief encounter with her, addresses rumors that she's perceived by African-Americans as being cold. "It might be because I'm English and educated." Brrr! "It may also be the accent and the very cool sophistication people see in me." Double brrr! She concludes, "Emotionally I'm a chameleon, and when I'm presenting myself in a formal way, it may seem rehearsed. I guess I carry some of my mum's spirit with me, and perhaps African-American audiences can sense that bottomless African sadness in me." So remember, the next time you're called out for your attitude, just blame it on your "bottomless African sadness."

    U2

Achtung, Baby! New U2 Release SetEOnline.comby Josh GrossbergAug 23, 2004, 10:00 AM PTNov. 23 is going to be a beautiful day for U2 fans.Bono and the boys have announced plans to release their still untitled album in the U.S. then, a day after it drops in the U.K. The first single, "Vertigo," will hit radio on Sept. 24, while a video for the song will debut in October.U2's 11th studio album, produced by Steve Lillywhite, is the follow-up to their multiple Grammy-winning 2000 disc, All That You Can Leave Behind. Besides "Vertigo," other song titles rumored to be on the Irish rockers' set include "Tough" and "Full Metal Jacket."The band has been previewing tracks to select music industry types, and the buzz has been tremendous. Time magazine's Josh Tyrangiel says the new CD "is just full of confident, expansive guitar rock from the masters of the form. All the old tricks--the Edge's echoing guitar notes,Larry Mullen Jr.'s martial snare--still work...[bono] has enormous assuredness, and the occasional cracks in his voice make the bad-relationship songs (and, as always, there are quite a few) darker and more dramatic."U2 fan site @U2 quotes VH1 Senior Vice President Bill Flanagan saying, "It's the best album they have ever done. It's going to knock [listeners] out." And British rock writer Neil McCormick tells Hot Press magazine that "Vertigo" "is like the early U2 pumped up in the 21st century, a really exciting record."The album's release will apparently not be impacted by the disappearance of early version of the album. A compact disc containing unmixed versions of the tracks went missing from a recording studio in Nice, France, in July, prompting worries that the songs could be leaked to the Internet, potentially costing the quartet, arguably the most popular rock band in the world, and its label, Interscope, millions in lost revenue. With French investigators still not finding what they're looking for, Bono told London's Daily Telegraph that the group may try and head off such a disastrous leak by making the album available early as a legal download on Apple's iTunes should file-swappers get their hands on it."If it is on the Internet this week, we will release it immediately as a legal download on iTunes, and get hard copies into the shops by the end of the month," the singer said. "It would be a real pity. It would screw up years of work and months of planning, not to mention f--king up our holidays. But once it's out. It's out."A cursory scan of the major music-swapping sites haven't turned up any of the MIA tracks. For now, the album will be on shelves--and iTunes--in November, with a U.S. tour slated for the spring.

    Bette Midler

Liz SmithNY Post BETTE MIDLER called in to pump her returning "Kiss My Brass" concert, which plays Radio City Music Hall Oct. 13-17. "Maybe I should call it 'Kiss My Brass Again!' " she said. "It's not really different from what it was before, just sort of 'fluffed up' to keep things timely in terms of current events. I change numbers sometimes. People remember 'One for My Baby,' which I did on Carson's last show, so I give 'em that. I go with how I feel. I regale my audience with the vicissitudes of my career, which I consider an ongoing art project which I must comment on; the good times and the many, many disasters.""Oh, but Bette, you've had mostly great times; they outweigh the bad," we said."Yes, you're right, I've been blessed," she said. "But complaining is funnier."Midler seemed downright emotional when I told her that her 1991 movie, "For the Boys," had been on TV a lot recently, and that it was great. (Bette garnered an Oscar nod for this tale of a TV star-USO entertainer, but the box office was weak.) "You're kidding? It's been on? A lot? Oh, that's so great. You know that was a heartbreak, but . . . I guess I have to be grateful it's there to be seen." We spoke of Donna Summer, who was such a sensation at last year's Hulaween bash to benefit Bette's fabulous New York Restoration Project. (This year's event happens Oct. 26 at the Marriott Marquis.) "Was she the greatest, or what? I want to bring her back again. She is the dearest, sweetest person. And that voice! It's from God." (Indeed, when Summer opened her mouth to sing, the audience gasped ? it was a disco world again.)Midler's latest Restoration Project was the building of the first boat house on Harlem River Drive, which will include all sorts of special activities for local residents.Any movies in the works? "Scripts come in, and I look, naturally. I think 'The Stepford Wives' turned out well, though it was a rough shoot, I won't lie."Rough how? "Oh, it just was, you know . . . my focus is the Restoration Project, my concerts and records, like the Rosemary Clooney CD. Movies are great. But I have plenty to do."

This poor guy is going to kill himself soon.... EOnline.cm Tab Fab You Don't Know Dick: Reportedly grief stricken over the death of friend Rick James, ever erratic Andy Dick acted like a super freak at several NYC hot spots, according to the Globe . At Suede, Dick reportedly first tried to kiss everyone he met and later was seen rolling around on the bathroom floor before finally bawling his eyes out in the dishwashing room. The next day at club Plan B, he let the bad times roll by alternately kissing and slapping male and female strangers. A source there says, "He was obviously obliterated," though he was lucid enough to skip out on a $300 tab. The jag continued this week at club Butter, according to the New York Post, with Dick projectile vomiting under the table on the $200 jeans of a female music editor. Sounds like Andy's up for the lead in a Courtney Love biopic. You go, hurl!
