    Brandy

This is from the report from TMZ from the 1st page of this thread: It happened at 10:30 AM on December 30, 2006 on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Brandy was driving her 2007 Land Rover at 65 mph and did not notice that cars in front of her had slowed considerably. We're told Brandy's vehicle struck a 2005 Toyota. The Toyota then hit a 1989 Toyota. The 2005 Toyota then slid sideways and hit the center divider. As the 2005 Toyota came to a halt, it was struck by a 1988 Acura.

I thought I read that it just wasn't this woman's car stopped on the freeway (as in a breakdown). Traffic had slowed, but Brandy failed to recognize it. That is negligence, pure and simple. This same accident just happened again in LA on a freeway near me and it was the same scenario. Traffic had slowed, a guy in his truck wasn't paying attention, slammed into a row of cars and killed someone. That is more than a simple accident and there should be consequences.

    Rosie O'Donnell

FOX News.com Rosie O'Donnell Will Probably Leave 'The View' Wednesday, January 10, 2007 By Roger Friedman Rosie O'Donnell — quite rightly, I believe — has had enough of Barbara Walters and "The View." I am told that she is not likely to renew her one-year contract when it ends in June and will leave the crazy talk show after boosting its ratings higher than ever. Sources say that Rosie feels that the backstage antics at "The View" "are completely dysfunctional." O'Donnell, who's got plenty of money and lots of outside interests, simply doesn't need to be there. I am told that her contract was for "one school year" and that ends in June. But ABC might feel differently, given that O'Donnell has made "The View" bigger than ever. It's conceivable that the network brass will prevail — either buying out or retiring Walters and convincing O'Donnell to stay as the show's moderator. Ironically, oddsmakers would have guessed that Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Rosie's political and ideological opposite, would have been the one to cause O'Donnell the most pain at the show. But it turns out that Walters, the woman who chose O'Donnell for the job in the first place, surfaced as her backstage enemy. The tension between Walters and O'Donnell surfaced yesterday, first when Page Six reported that the pair had a fight about the Donald Trump-Miss USA saga just before the show went on air Monday morning. Then later yesterday, a letter from Trump to Rosie was leaked, in which Trump told O'Donnell that Walters, essentially, had betrayed her to Trump and acted disloyally. Whether or not this is completely true is irrelevant. But this — not the public façade she's carefully crafted — is the Barbara Walters I've seen in action over the years. The first indication of this was seen earlier last year when she ditched the unpopular Star Jones in a most unceremonious and ungracious way. That should have been some indication to everyone that Walters was capable of just about anything as she struggled to preserve what's left of her crumbling fiefdom at ABC. According to my sources, the Trump letter wasn't the first piece of correspondence in this story. Walter apparently sent O'Donnell a letter over the Christmas holiday that wasn't particularly supportive either. O'Donnell told friends she couldn't believe Walters' take on the situation. How this leaves "The View" for the rest of the TV season remains a mystery. O'Donnell isn't going to quit, and Walters can't fire her without ABC's approval — and she won't get it. The show is already lacking a fifth correspondent, and without O'Donnell — who replaced Meredith Vieira — it doesn't have a marquee name as moderator. Of course, we'd love to hear what Joy Behar is saying off camera about all this.

    Daniel Craig

Haven't seen Bond yet, but I thought he was damn sexy in Layer Cake. I don't remember if he was ripped or not - there is just something about him. Definitely wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers

    Daniel Craig

I think he's neither a looker or ugly. But when you see him on film (I haven't seen Bond yet, but have seen him in others) he is smokin' sexy. A lot of "pretty" boys can never achieve that level of animal magnetism that Craig projects

I agree. Craig is better than the material and I look forward to seeing him in something other than Bond. He was fabulous in Layer Cake.

    Oddly Enough

And the most requested funeral song is... Tue Oct 3, 9:48 AM ET LONDON (Reuters) - James Blunt's "Goodbye My Lover" is the song most requested at British funerals and remembrance services, closely followed by Robbie Williams's "Angels," according to a survey released on Monday. Research for the Bereavement Register found just over a half (51 percent) of people ask for a specific song be played at their funeral and 79 percent have talked with family and friends about possible song choices. The survey of 5,000 people also uncovered some unusual final choices for the final goodbye with rock songs like "I'll Sleep When I am Dead" by Bon Jovi, competing with classical tracks and soul. "The top 20 really shows how far we have come in terms of saying goodbye. Gone are the days dirges of yore, instead we are seeing contemporary music that is easier to relate to," said Mark Roy, founder of the Bereavement Register, which removes the names and addresses of people who have died from databases to reduce junk mail. "Everyone has a favorite song that means something very special to them, often connected to a particular time and place. When the song is played this can be a very emotive reminder of that person," he said in a statement. Although fashions change there have been some consistent favorites over recent years like "Wind Beneath My Wings" at number four and "Candle In The Wind" -- a reworked version of which played at Princess Diana's funeral in 1997 -- which was at number six. Many of the songs represented the different ages of the deceased. Songs like "Danny Boy" (number 11 in the list) tended to be played at the funerals of the elderly while S Club 7's "Reach For The Stars" (number 20) was more usual at children's funerals, the survey showed. Others in the top 20 included "Knocking On Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan and, perhaps unexpectedly, Fame's "I Want To Live Forever." The top 10 requested songs were: 1 - "Goodbye My Lover" - James Blunt 2 - "Angels" - Robbie Williams 3 - "I've Had The Time Of My Life" - Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley. 4 - "Wind Beneath My Wings" - Bette Midler 5 - "Pie Jesu" - Requiem 6 - "Candle In The Wind" - Elton John 7 - "With Or Without You" - U2 8 - "Tears In Heaven" - Eric Clapton 9 - "Every Breath You Take - The Police 10 -"Unchained Melody" - Righteous Brothers.

    Kathy Griffin

Janet Charlton Last Laugh We could hardly wait to get our hands on the new issue of Frontiers because we heard there was Kathy Griffin scoop in it. Sure enough, there was one of Kathy's "main gays" on the cover. Remember her two "best gays" that were prominently featured in the first season of her show "My Life on the D-List?" Before the series even aired they had been banished from her life. After ten years of friendship. Handsome Tony Tripoli revealed WHY. He insists it had NOTHING to do with the fact that they were not paid to be on the show. He says the friendship didn't end over one specific argument - it was what he calls "A blossoming lack of kindness and gratitude" on her part. (We suspect it COULD have something to do with the way she treated her husband Matt.) Tony says "I want to live in a world with a little more kindness." Tony has a role on new series Fashion House and he might be amused to hear that Kathy was seen last weekend flying ECONOMY on Southwest to Oakland where she took the SHUTTLE (no limo) to her show in Napa.

Wahhhhhhhhhh  I was thinking last Friday that they need to defeat the Ori and move on; they're becoming the Bori. I agree. I'm quite bored with the Ori. I honestly like Atlantis better but that's probably b/c I haven't watched SG1 from the beginning so I'm not as invested in it.

    Sci Fi TV

Sci Fi Wire Death Comes To Galactica Ronald D. Moore, executive producer of SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica, told fans that the upcoming third season of the hit SF series could see some fatalities among the characters. "Oh, there're some changes in the air," Moore said at the 64th World Science Fiction Convention, or WorldCon, in Anaheim, Calif., over the weekend. "We're going to lose some people this year. Not all of our friends are going to make it all the way." Moore declined to be specific, but said that the show's writers have finished breaking the story arc for the end of the upcoming third season. Moore added that the upcoming season 2.5 DVD set will include a special 90-minute version of the episode "Pegasus," which ran only 60 minutes in the original broadcast. In addition, fresh material in the form of specially filmed "webisodes," Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance, will air on SCIFI.COM's SCI FI Pulse broadband network twice weekly, starting Sept. 5. The two- or three-minute shorts will serve as a lead-in to the new season and, although not essential to the plot, will enhance the viewing experience. Moore was joined at WorldCon by executive producer Mark Verheiden, supervising producer Michael Taylor, story editor Anne Cofell Saunders, producers David Weddle and Bradley Thompson and SCIFI.COM senior vice president Craig Engler in screening a trailer for and talking about the upcoming season. When asked whether the show was still true to his initial vision, Moore said he felt it was on track, but that there had been surprises along the way, from both writers and actors, that made both the storyline and the characters richer. "One of the great things about writing for Ron is you do feel empowered to try things, and it doesn't have to be ... what was in the story outline," Weddle said. "I'm sure many of you remember in season two, where Callie shoots Boomer. That was never in an outline. That wasn't a planned moment. ... [Writer] Toni Graphia called Brad [Thompson] and [me] one day and said, 'You know, I think I want Callie to shoot Boomer.'" Moore agreed: "There's nothing like reading a script and being surprised," he said of his reaction to the change. "It's the experience of watching the show." Season three of Battlestar Galactica begins airing Oct. 6. Galactica will air Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. —Nephele Tempest

    Hilary Swank

National Enquirer - Mike Walker SWANK FINDS SHOULDER TO CRY ON Who needs DR. PHIL!?! HILARY SWANK found a hunky shoulder to cry on after taking more flak than Hezbollah for spilling the beans on estranged hubby CHAD LOWE's substance abuse in a "Vanity Fair" cover story - the Academy award-winning actress was spotted in tight embrace with KEANU REEVES, her co-star in "The Gift." Insiders say they arrived separately at LA's The Little Door restaurant and wine bar, and instantly tangled in a monster hug that lasted a minute-plus. Then the we're-just-friends couple sat at an out-of-the-way table, and Keanu put her hands in his and pulled them close. Hilary looked on the verge of tears, but Keanu kept lifting her face gently - comforting her and saying everything would be fine. After about an hour, Hilary gave her former leading man a hug and kiss, then split. Published on: 08/01/2006

    Sci Fi TV

Televisionary BBC Three Ignites "Torchwood" BBC Three has announced that it will make Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood the "centerpiece" of its fall schedule, launching the "sci fi crime thriller" series in October. No plans are currently in place to import the series Stateside, though our neighbors to the north will be able to catch Torchwood on CBC. Spinning off of one of Doctor Who's most memorable characters, Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), Torchwood will be set in present day Cardiff (that's Wales to you lot) and will surround a group of covert criminal investigators called the Torchwood Institute, an organization commissioned by Queen Victoria and tasked with investigating alien technology. The team will be headquartered at The Hub, located beneath Cardiff Bay, the site of the TARDIS' landing in "Boom Town" and the location of the rift discussed in "The Unquiet Dead." Created by current Doctor Who writer/producer Russell T. Davies, Torchwood stars John Barrowman as bisexual time traveller/con man Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as former police officer Gwen Cooper. Astute Doctor Who fans may remember Myles from the Who episode "The Unquiet Dead," where she played the role of the similarly named Gwyneth. (Whether Gwen and Gwyneth are the same character has yet to be confirmed, but the fact that Myles' previous Who episode dealt with the rift adds credence to that theory.) Joining Barrowman and Myles are Bleak House's Burn Gorman, who will play Torchwood Institute medic Owen Harper, and Absolutely Fabulous' Naoko Mori, who will reprise the role of Toshiko Sato from the Doctor Who episode "Aliens of London." Doctor Who writer/producer Russell T. Davies has written the first of thirteen episodes. He'll be joined on the series by writers Chris Chibnall, co-creator of Life on Mars, and P.J. Hammond, creator of 1980s cult classic Sapphire & Steel (which starred Mori's Absolutely Fabulous castmate Joanna Lumley), among others. Torchwood is, of course, a clever anagram of Doctor Who and was originally used as a codename for the current incarnation of Doctor Who, before taking on a life of its own during the series. I can only hope that we here in the States will eventually be lucky enough to watch Torchwood, though I'm still waiting for an official announcement about when Sci-Fi will air the second (sadly, Eccleston-free) season of Doctor Who.

I'm watching Eureka. I have to admit I don't love it. I like it enough to keep watching, but I was a bit let down with the pilot. I did enjoy last night's episode more so I hope it'll grow on me. The lead actor does look like Mark Valley who played Keen Eddie (and is now on Boston Legal). And I really like the mother of the autistic child.

    Kathy Griffin

Janet CharltonTWO LESS BELLS TO ANSWERStand by for more Kathy Griffin gossip! First we must remind you that we are crazy about Kathy and our affection for her is in no way diluted by her juicy scandals. We've always considered her something of a "stand-up gossip" - as opposed to just a standup comic. We relate. Anyway, we just found out what happened to her two "main gays," Tony and Dennis, who were prominently featured in the first season of "D-List." We've heard the guys wrote jokes for Kathy to use on the red carpet and were inseparable buddies. In fact, we ran into the threesome at the Cher concert at the Hollywood Bowl last year and they were very chummy. But after the first season the guys got tired of not earning money and asked to be paid. They quickly learned that Kathy is the ONLY person paid on that show. And it wasn't going to change. (As we told you, money is VERY important to Kathy. ) The guys didn't want to do the second season free and the friendship was abruptly OVER.

I can't remember either. It was the Teri Hatcher story that bumped someone else off who had already been scheduled. I have it home, I can look later today and figure it out.I wonder if Hilary bumped Sheryl Crowe? I would have much rather seen her on the cover. Gee - read about an artist that has survived breast cancer (and Lance Armstrong) or read about Hiliary outing her poor husband's drug habit. Maybe Hilary could have dinner with Kathy Griffin and find new ways to emasculate their men.

    Kathy Griffin

Janet Charlton (consider the source, although she did have the inital story right)Since we revealed that Kathy Griffin was PRETENDING to reconcile with her exhusband Matt Moline on her reality TV show My Life on the D-List , we've learned a LOT more! Way more than Kathy is likely to reveal on Larry King! Let's backtrack. Last September while filming season one, Kathy learned from her bank that SOMEONE had been using her ATM card and draining one of her bank accounts.Money is VERY important to Kathy - friends consider her frugal. An investigation proved it was her own husband Matt. He had been quietly withdrawing $500 - the limit - every day for many months. What was Matt's problem - was it drugs? Another woman? Gambling? None of the above. Kathy was so upset she sent the D-List cameras home and filed for divorce. "She's not quite the victim she appears to be" revealed an insider. Apparently when Kathy married Matt she told him "I will never support you - you have to pay half the bills." Matt found himself caught up in Kathy's busy schedule - she hates to travel alone and wanted him with her at all times. He had no time to run his computer business and couldn't earn enough money to pay his bills. (When they went out to dinner, Kathy expected HIM to pay.) So he started robbing Peter to pay Paul. He took the money from Kathy and paid his bills and spent the rest on her! The network wanted her married on the show and that's why Matt returned for season two. It was all ACTING - they pretended everything was okay. Insiders feel the reason Kathy recently revealed Matt's thievery was to boost her show RATINGS. He is described as "humiliated - a broken man." Ironically Kathy hopes they can remain friends! It's a real soap opera and we hope there's a happy ending for both. Meanwhile, we're not going to miss an episode of D-List.
