    Kathy Griffin

TV Squad Here's why Kathy Griffin is divorcing her husband Posted Jul 5th 2006 1:57PM by Bob Sassone Because he stole $72,000 from her. That's the claim that Griffin made to Larry King, in an interview that has already been taped by hasn't aired yet. She says that her ex-husband Matt, who has been featured in her Bravo reality show My Life On The D List, was sneaking into her wallet while she slept and stealing cash and her ATM card. Yikes. The divorce actually became final in May, so maybe we'll be seeing that coming up on the show soon. It's interesting because in her last standup special, she told the audience that they were separated but were working on getting back together. I guess this was the last straw? This also comes after news that Janet Charleton broke, that Griffin and her husband haven't been living together and the scenes of him living in the home on the Bravo show were staged to make it look like he was still living there.

    Hilary Swank

Here's the CNN article. Why is she throwing him under the bus by disclosing this? Swank: Husband's addiction hurt marriage Couple confirmed split in May Wednesday, July 5, 2006; Posted: 12:44 p.m. EDT (16:44 GMT) Manage Alerts | What Is This? NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank said the breakdown of her eight-year marriage to actor Chad Lowe was partially due to the substance abuse problem he had been battling. Swank, who won best actress Oscars for her performance in "Million Dollar Baby" and "Boys Don't Cry," confirmed in May that the couple had decided to end their marriage but gave no reason for the split. Swank told the latest edition of magazine Vanity Fair that she was shocked when she found out about Lowe's addiction, which contributed to their marriage's slide. "I don't want to make it seem like that's the sole reason [for their breakup]; there were other factors," Swank told the magazine, which arrived on newsstands on Wednesday. "But that just kind of blew it open; it made me look at things a lot deeper. "It's an enormous obstacle to overcome and he's doing it. He's living a sober life. I know how difficult it is and I'm really proud of his sobriety." Swank, 31, did not give details on what substances were abused by Lowe, who works mostly in television and whose career has been overshadowed by Swank's, as well that of his better-known older brother Rob Lowe. Swank and Lowe, 38, married in September 1997. She said she initiated the divorce but it ended up being mutual.

    Matthew McConaughey

Mike Walker - National Enquirer MCCONAUGHEY'S CRAZY FOR A GOOD CONGA LINE Still crazy after all these years, MATTHEW "Bongo Boy" MCCONAUGHEY literally stopped traffic on busy Santa Monica Boulevard when he boogied out of club Zanzibar during Afro-Cuban Dance Night, pumping his fists and kicking his legs high — leading a conga line dozens of people long across the street as horns honked and drivers shook their fists! Totally unintimidated, Bongo Boy just waved and kicked, kicked and waved — then slowly snaked his konga line of koo-koo kidz back into Zanzibar! Published on: 06/30/2006

    Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks Into Army's Ranger Hall of Fame AP FORT BENNING, GA. — Actor Tom Hanks was inducted Thursday as an honorary member of the U.S. Army's Ranger Hall of Fame for his accurate portrayal of a World War II Army Ranger company commander in the movie "Saving Private Ryan" and for his continued commitment to honoring those who served in the war. Besides his role in "Saving Private Ryan," Hanks was cited for serving as the national spokesman for the World War II Memorial Campaign, for being the honorary chairman of the D-Day Museum Capital Campaign, and for his role in writing and helping to produce the Emmy Award-winning miniseries, "Band of Brothers." Hanks, who was unable to attend the induction ceremony, becomes the first actor to receive such an honor. Each year, the Army's elite Ranger units and regimental associations nominate a small number of Ranger Hall of Fame candidates, who are then scrutinized by a selection board. All but honorary inductees like Hanks have to be graduates of the Army's grueling Ranger School at Fort Benning, or they have to have served in a Ranger unit. The latest 17 inductees were mostly career soldiers, ranging from generals to sergeants. The only civilian was U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall, whose district is in the middle Georgia, including Macon. Marshall is a decorated Vietnam War veteran, Ranger school graduate and member of the House Armed Services Committee.

    Ellen Pompeo

National Enquirer SECRET REASON GREY'S ANATOMY BEAUTY IS SCARED TO GET MARRIED By RICK EGUSQUIZA There's a secret reason why Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo hasn't wed her longtime love — his criminal past! Friends say the 36-year-old actress — who plays Dr. Meredith Grey on the hit ABC medical drama — is proceeding with caution when it comes to hunky beau Christopher Ivery, 38, because she can't forget the felony conviction that sent him to jail for more than a year. "Ellen loves Christopher to death but she can't help feeling that there may be someone else out there better suited for her," a pal told The ENQUIRER. Chris' criminal past wasn't that important to Ellen when she was a struggling waitress, but now that she's on one of the top-rated TV shows, her feelings have changed as she thinks about her future, says the pal. "She's had a few of her co-stars try to set her up on dates with some well-known bachelors. Ellen declined the offers for now, but she's having second thoughts. "Marrying a guy with a criminal past is just not something she envisioned for herself." In 1994 Christopher pleaded guilty to postal theft and credit card fraud. He served 14 months in prison. "If she hasn't married Chris by now, it may never happen," said the friend. "She owes it to herself to find Mr. Right and not settle for a man she's having second thoughts about."

The dvd release for Alien Nation is titled "The Complete Series". It's 6 double sided discs. What haven't been released are the 4 or 5 movie specials that followed after the series was cancelled (thanks once again FOX). It aired in 1990-91 season. Could it be that long ago? Time flies.

One more slightly sci fi show (more in the vein of the XFiles) - Miracles. It aired on ABC in 2001 I believe. It got jerked around the schedule and then cancelled. It starred Skeet Ulrich who played an investigator into supposed miracles for the catholic church. Great show so of course it was treated unfairly and canned. I have the dvds of its one and only season and would watch them again tomorrow.Any one else remember this show?

    Paul & Stella McCartney clan

NY Daily News Day stripper: Sir Paul's wife in porn-pix report Paul's McCartney's estranged wife posed for hard-core pornographic pictures in Germany before she became a famous fashion model, a London newspaper reported today, accompanying its story with some racy photographs. According to the London Sun, Heather Mills "was snapped in a string of lurid scenes for a hard-core German book" back in 1988. One photo in the book shows Mills naked and smothered in baby oil as she performs a sex act on a male porn star, the paper wrote. In other pictures, Mills appears to act out bondage scenes with whips, handcuffs and edible underwear. The paper said many of the images "are too explicit to print in a family newspaper," but it posted several shots of a topless Mills on its Web site. Mills, 38, and McCartney, 63, announced last month that they were separating after four years of marriage. The couple has a 2-year-old daughter.

About BSG - it took me a while but now I'm totally into it. I still love the original as well. I don't get why the vipers fire bullets and why Commander Adama has to answer a phone. I mean they are flying in friggin' space ships after all. :)I am a late fan to SG-1 so I don't like it as much as Atlantis which I've watched from the beginning. The only reason I started watching SG-1 was b/c Ben Browder and Claudia Black (both from Farscape) joined the cast.I have the first 3 seasons of Babylon 5 burned on dvd and need to sit down and watch them sometime before I get the rest of the seasons. I have heard so many good things about it. I've heard since I like Farscape, I'll like Babylon.Another sci fi show that I loved when it was on was Alien Nation. Don't know if anyone remembers that one, but it was quite good. It's also out on dvd now.Too much to watch, not enough time.

    FAQ: Warning System Setup

If I could add something - I know sometimes spirits get a bit high on message boards. It happens. What I try to do (and I don't always succeed) is to ignore a poster who I feel is aiming their ammo my way. It's sometimes not worth the effort to get into with some people b/c that's what they are looking for. So before you PM princess or myself, how about taking a deep breath, take a step back, and see if you can just let it go. Now if it's something really bad, of course PM us, but if it's just a squabble, try to be the bigger person and walk away. Also, if you are not involved in a squabble, but see one developing, you could always step in (nicely of course) and ask people to cool off. B/c if princess or I have to step in, it will cool off one way or another.

    Star Jones

NY Daily News Jones & Reynolds a wrap? A source says Al Reynolds and Star Jones (above) may be headed for a split. The official word from the couple is that all is well. But another source says they could be close to splitting, with Star considering a divorce lawyer. The couple has been under scrutiny since their November 2004 wedding, which made headlines for the freebies they solicited from sponsors. And stories that Reynolds dated men before walking down the aisle led many to question whether it was a match made in heaven. Jones' future as a co-host of "The View" also looks less than secure, especially since her nemesis Rosie O'Donnell was announced as a replacement for Meredith Vieira. Star was absent from her chair Friday, and "View:-eurs are noticing that she has been mentioning Al less on-air lately. A rep for Jones said: "This story is absolutely ridiculous and untrue. Star and Al are very committed to each other and their marriage."

I think the "Charlie is evil" thing is also coming from the fact that Chalie saw a distraught Locke (in the first hour) and basically wound him up by telling him about Desmond.

Finally finished the episode and I'm with MMM - I wasn't blown away by it. To be honest, I found the first hour a bit boring.I can only hope that Michael is gone forever and that the actor gets another series so I won't have to hear about him or "his boy" again.I never liked the hobbit and now he's an evil hobbit? Annoying.I did like the hatch blowing up. I liked that Desmond's girlfriend is still looking for him. And I'm not sure Desmond is dead. I don't think Locke or Ecko are either.Jin, Sun, and Sayid were sadly underused yet again. Maybe next season with Jack, Sawyer and Kate (the alpha members of the group) with the Others, we'll get to see more of the group.I'll still be tuning in next year!

Only watched the first hour so far, but still hate Michael. He only mentioned "Waaalllltttt" one time (if I was paying attention) so he wasn't AS annoying as he usually is. :)Seeing Jin, Sun and Sayid together made me realize that they have been somewhat missing from the past several episodes. I could use more of them and less of Michael.

    Sci Fi TV

4400 Returnees Revealed Ira Steven Behr, co-creator of USA Network's SF series The 4400, told SCI FI Wire that the series will bring back guest stars Peter Coyote and Jeffrey Combs in the upcoming third season, but that fans may have to wait a bit to see the resolution of last season's cliffhanger, which featured the mysterious reappearance of Billy Campbell's Jordan Collier. "We're gong to tease this a little longer, partially because Billy Campbell is on a tall ship cruise around the world as a crew member, not as a passenger. He's up there in the riggings," Behr said in an interview earlier this year. "[but] it will be worth the wait, that's all. We've come up with an idea for him that I think is very good, and the way you saw him at the end of last season, with that beard and that hair, I think, is going to play a part in his character, so that might give you some idea." At the end of last season, fans saw what appeared to be 4400 leader Collier on a beach, though he was supposedly assassinated earlier in the year. Behr added that the new season will bring back new regular cast member Karina Lombard as Alana Mareva, who was introduced as the love interest of Joel Gretsch's Tom Baldwin last year. "I think she's going to be in 10 out of 13 episodes playing Alana, Tom's lover and 4400 member," Behr said. "And I think that relationship and her abilities are going to have a big impact this season." Next season will also see the return of "the equally lovely and talented Jeff Combs, who I worked with numerous times in the past," Behr said, with tongue in cheek. Combs, who worked with Behr on various Star Trek projects, will again play Kevin Burkhardt, a brilliant but troubled scientist who played a key role in last season's finale. And former series regular Peter Coyote, who played the nefarious NTAC chief Dennis Ryland, makes an appearance. "He's in for a nice couple of episodes," Behr said. "Peter came back last year at the end, in those two episodes, and he ... scored hugely. He was in what could be an unsympathetic role, I'd say, and yet made it so cogent and so clear and his point of view was so well-stated that you just want to see more of him. ... We're not going to see Dennis Ryland back as the head of NTAC. Those days are certainly gone. But he will still play a decisive role in the series, and I think that he'll have a lot of fun." The 4400 returns with 13 new episodes starting June 4. USA Network is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM. —Patrick Lee, News Editor

The Mirror By Fiona Cummins, Showbiz Reporter HEATHER Mills is so devastated over her split from Sir Paul McCartney the stress has put her back in a wheelchair. The 38-year-old suffered a relapse from leg surgery she had four weeks ago, brought on by the collapse of their marriage. Friends said Heather has hardly slept since breaking up from Macca, right, two weeks ago and has been in floods of tears. One added: "She's in a very low place." WORRIED friends of Heather Mills last night said they fear her devastating split from Sir Paul McCartney is damaging her health. The 38-year-old is back in a wheelchair after a relapse following surgery on her amputated leg, brought on by stress from the break-up. She has hardly slept and has been in floods of tears since the couple's marriage collapsed. One friend said: "We're very worried about her. She's at a very low ebb both emotionally and physically. She is unable to walk and is in a wheelchair. "She is in so much pain She's in a very low place. When you're an amputee, and in particular when you've had a revision amputation, you can be on crutches for a few days and then have to go back to a wheelchair depending on how the day goes. "She's now spending most of her time in a wheelchair so draw your own conclusions." Heather had the operation four weeks ago when a metal plate in her pelvis used for her new false leg shifted. The friend added: "She's incredibly vulnerable at the moment and deeply stressed. She's had a major operation and is recovering from that. "She's a feisty girl and to find that's she immobilised and going through a marriage break-up, is incredibly difficult. "She's been in floods of tears and is also having problems sleeping but her friends are rallying round. "A revision amputation can leave you very physically under par. She'd been on crutches but she now needs a wheelchair. "She's had a new leg fitted and any prolonged pressure makes it blister. "She had hoped to be mobile again by next week but now she is taking it day by day. The stress has made it so much worse." Heather is being cared for by her sister Fiona and a tight-knit circle of friends. Macca, who has not seen his wife since they split more than two weeks ago, is said to "extremely concerned" about her health and has been calling her regularly. The couple are also said to have discussed their two-year-old daughter Beatrice. Her friend added: "Paul has been very supportive over the phone. She and Paul are determined to keep things amicable for Bea. When they married, they had every reason to think they would be together for ever. It is devastating for her." The couple have yet to discuss with lawyers their divorce. Heather could claim up to £200million from his £825million fortune, but is expected to settle for £50million in a quickie divorce. On Wednesday, the former Beatle confirmed the Mirror's exclusive story that 63-year-old Macca and Heather were to split after four years' of marriage. She has cancelled the launch party for her new book, Life Balance, published next Thursday - which gives guidance on how to improve your life. In it she says accusations that she is a gold digger were "worse than losing my leg". Heather admits she has a bad temper and is not a good communicator. She writes: "I held back on what I wanted to say in case I hurt someone's feelings, which led to me becoming frustrated and expressing myself impatiently."

Futon Critic Friday, May 19, 2006 USA ACCELERATES DIGITAL DRIVE Released by USA Special Episode of "The 4400" Debuts on YAHOO! TV New York, NY May 19, 2006 In a cable channel first, a special episode of USA Network's hit series "The 4400" will premiere exclusively on Yahoo! TV (http://tv.yahoo.com) as a Web offering for one week prior to its digital run on usanetwork.com and its broadcast debut on June 4. With the success of The 4400 last summer, USA Network and its production partner CBS Paramount Network Television recognized the importance of familiarizing current, lapsed and new fans with the franchise via "The 4400 Special: Unlocking the Secrets" -- a powerful new, one-hour special capturing all of the big storytelling moments from seasons one and two. As a way of maximizing sampling and viewership, USA will employ an atypical rollout strategy by launching through digital distribution outlets before its broadcast premiere. "The 4400" special will debut and have an eight-day exclusive run on Yahoo! TV May 21st followed by video streaming on usanetwork.com and scifi.com on May 29th. The show will make its television bow beginning June 4th, across three NBCU broadcast outlets - - USA Network, SCI FI and Bravo. USA Network will also expand "The 4400" content on usanetwork.com, one of the website's largest communities, by creating a "Central Intelligence" for all things related to the series. The expansion will include web exclusives such as audio pod casts, weekly character blogs, weekly writer and producer blogs, behind-the-scenes interviews, character back-stories and preview clips. The centerpiece of the site will be Maia's Interactive Diary, which is thematically linked to the show and its characters. Created by Glow Interactive, the same creative force that developed the enormously successful interactive Monk's Mind Game, Maia's Interactive Diary will help viewers find clues to the mystery of The 4400 on a weekly basis.

I have to get this off my chest. I can't stand Michael. I - can't - stand - him. I don't care about him. I don't care about Walt. If he screams "Waaalllltttt" one more time I'm going to put my fist through the screen. Why is Sayid the only one left with any sense? Doesn't Jack think it's a bit strange that Michael has a list for who gets to go on this little rescue mission? What exactly does Claire see in the Hobbitt? Not too recently, he kidnapped her baby and now she's making nicey-nice with her.
