  1. Carter plays off Fox’s Wonder Woman slam

Younger actress previously called TV icon a 'lame superhero'

"Who trashes Wonder Woman, right? What is there to trash?” Lynda Carter said.Access Hollywood Access Hollywood

    updated 17 minutes ago 2010-11-11T19:00:36

Lynda Carter isn’t paying too much attention to Megan Fox’s rip of her iconic Wonder Woman character.

After Fox previously called Wonder Woman a “lame superhero,” claiming she had no interest in stepping into the red, white and blue outfit and gold wristbands for David E. Kelley’s upcoming reboot, Carter simply shrugged off the critique.

“To be honest with you, I was really offended,” Carter told "Access Hollywood Live’s" Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday morning, before breaking out in laughter. “No, I’m teasing.

“I thought that her comment — she just didn’t really get it. Like, who trashes Wonder Woman, right? What is there to trash?” Carter added.

While Fox may be a household name in the fanboy sector, Carter said she wasn’t necessarily familiar with the young actress’ work.

“I didn’t really know anything about her. I think she’s beautiful and I think she’s got a certain look and everything, but shoot — you can’t get a job if you’re trashing it already,” the 59-year-old actress said.

As for what makes Wonder Woman such a beloved character that has stood the test of time, Carter suggested it was because the everyday woman could relate.

“I think there’s that secret person in us — all of us women have that secret self — and, you know, she kicked butt. She was the first of her kind. When I played the role, I didn’t want her to think that she had all that — she was just really approachable,” she explained. “Either you wanted to be her, or you wanted to be her best friend.”

When it comes to who should step into the role for Kelley’s upcoming TV reboot, Carter said she has spoken to the producer — but has been sworn to secrecy.

“I spoke with David E. Kelley and he told me all kinds of secret things, but I can’t tell you any of them! I promised!” she smiled, when asked if she knew who would be a good fit for the role. “I asked David E. Kelley what he wanted me to say when people asked me, and he said, ‘Tell them to be patient.’”

  2. I'm not sure I want her to procreate at this point in her life....She seems a little reckless to me. Hopefully she will go the Christina and Nicole route and not the Britney route.

ETA: Of course, I was not asked and my opinion is frivolous.

I'm on the same page with you. I like her...her performances and the things she says. Don't know about her becoming a parent with her wildness.

  3. Dina Lohan admits Lindsay is an addict

Unlike previous interviews on TODAY, where Dina Lohan has been unwilling to admit that her daughter Lindsay is an addict, Dina, in an exclusive interview with Matt Lauer on Monday, said that she understands what Judge Elden Fox made clear last October when he sentenced Lindsay to rehab until Jan. 3.

"Yes," she is comfortable admitting Lindsay is an addict, Dina told Lauer. And the reason she’d been unwilling to admit as much before was because Lindsay had to admit it first. “As a mother it wasn’t for me to come and tell the world about her problem ... I wasn’t in denial. It was for her to come to her evolution. As a mother we protect. Now I’m happy and relieved myself.” (Lindsay on Sept. 18 tweeted that she had an addiction problem, after failing a court-ordered drug test.)

Dina said that Lindsay, who is being treated at California's Betty Ford rehab facility, is "happy, relaxed."

"She’s just a different person. She’s been in a couple facilities, but this one to me has really changed her."

Dina also said that Lindsay, too, has a greater understanding of her addiction issues. "Yes. This teaches you that you are (an addict). Being so young, the admitting of that, can only help her sobriety in the future."

And as for that future, what will it hold? Dina said that Lindsay wants to get back into film, but things will be taken "one day at a time.

"I don’t have a crystal ball,” Dina said. “I pray hard. She wants to start her own (rehab) facilities, help other children. She’s so public that I think we can only be positive and look to the future to help other families."

David Arquette crying after sex, and more oversharing

Finally, something to distract us from Charlie Sheen's allergic reactions: David Arquette's latest episode of oversharing on Howard Stern's radio show.

Arquette told Stern Wednesday that separating from Courteney Cox was difficult, and so was having sex with someone new. "After the first girl I slept with ... a few days later ... I was, like, crying. It was the end of all the intimacy I shared with my wife. It was like a new thing. It was like ... putting that away."

Arquette later admitted to Stern that he'd also bedded an Australian woman he met at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and that he would not date Jennifer Aniston. His overarching message though? He is still "f----- in love with my wife," he told Stern.

  6. HELLO!

Exclusive: Joan Collins opens the doors to her London home for the first time

    11 OCTOBER 2010

Her name is synonymous with style and glamour, qualities that enduring acting legend and author Joan Collins believes are sadly lacking in today’s stars.

Opening the doors of her sumptuous Belgravia home for the first time ever in this weeks’ HELLO! - issue 1145 - the 77-year-old has something to say.

She tells the magazine that, with the notable exception of one famous modern day actress, there are no real beauties in Hollywood these days.

"I have to say, there aren’t that many good looking actresses around today. I mean, there’s Angelina Jolie and there’s… Angelina Jolie," says the famously outspoken stage and screen icon, who is married to theatre director Percy Gibson, 44.

"Jennifer Aniston is cute, but I wouldn’t call her beautiful. I think that is why Cheryl Cole is so popular, because she is just so pretty and the public are starved of gorgeous people.

"When I was young, everybody on screen was gorgeous."

The size 10-12 star, who reveals a hidden passion for collecting 18th century drawings of camels, says her secret for staying in shape is ‘portion control’.

"People eat far too much these days and I’m very aware of the penalties of putting on weight," she says.

"If you eat junk, you look like junk. People say, ‘It’s not my fault, it’s my glands’. It’s not, it’s greed!"

  8. Kim Kardashian would be 'down for some hookups' in New York

    By Tim Nudd, PEOPLE.com

    October 5, 2010 4:37 p.m. EDT

"This couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me to just get out of my life and start anew," Kardashian says.

Kim Kardashian won't say no if friends want to set her up on dates after moving to New York

She and Kourtney are heading to the east coast to establish a new Dash clothing store

"Kourtney and Kim Take New York" premieres in January on E!

(PEOPLE.com) -- Now that she's moving to New York for her new E! show, Kim Kardashian says she's thrilled to give the single life a real chance -- and won't say no if friends want to set her up on dates.

"I never have really given it a shot to be single," the reality-TV star, who turns 30 later this month, tells Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. "I tried to play that role, but I really wasn't single. And now, I'm really officially on my own, and I'm in a whole different city."

Since splitting with boyfriend Miles Austin and arriving in the Big Apple to film "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," a new series premiering in January on E!, Kim says lots of her friends are trying to play matchmaker.

"Everyone is now trying to hook me up," she says. "In a way, since I hate meeting new people and I hate that first-dating thing, it's kind of reassuring to know, 'Okay, this [person] knows them, so maybe they're normal.' "

Whether or not she finds her one true love, Kardashian could be in the mood for romance as she and her sister establish a new Dash clothing store in Gotham. "I'd be down for some hookups," Kim says.

Whatever happens, it's great to have a change of scenery, anyway. "I am so excited," she says. "This couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me to just get out of my life [in Miami and L.A.] and start anew."

  9. Meanwhile, I saw a movie I loved and I think you would, too. No car crashes, explosions, vampires, special powers or ammunition but had a great script excellent acting, will remind you what you are happy and unhappy to miss about Boston - heck, the rating at RottenTomatoes is 97%!

Go, see "Social Network" - it's wonderful and probably needs ticket sales as there will be no merchandising opportunities from it. Fit it into your schedule as soon as you can, chances are it'll be gone all too quickly.

Thanks, I am hearing good things about this movie. I will be honest and say that a movie about Facebook (with Timberlake in the cast)...didn't pull me in, initially. But I think I will give it a shot, primarily because it is David Fincher.

  10. Watched the movie, Easy A this past week.

I have to say...this is a surprisingly great film. Normally I do hate every film...but I think this was my second favorite film this summer after Inception. I recommend that people check it out. I thought it paid a tremendous amount of respect to the late, great, John Hughes (it was a bit of a tribute).

Emma Stone...she's going to be the next Julia Roberts...or even a bigger star. She rocked in this flick.

Check it out...I think it's also time to put a best film of Summer Poll as well.

  11. Cheating Rumors: Did Demi and Ashton Get What They Deserved?

    By Catherine Donaldson-Evans

Buzz that Ashton Kutcher has been cheating on his wife Demi Moore has left many fans dismayed. How could it be? The celebrity couple has seemed so in love, so happy, so publicly affectionate, so devoted to each other. They've been hailed as a shining example of a marriage that works in Hollywood, and one where the wife is 15 years older, no less.

But not everyone is shocked and saddened by the idea that Demi and Ashton may be on the rocks. In fact, some are grumbling that the actors -- with their insatiable hunger for attention and eagerness to flaunt their relationship -- are getting exactly what they deserve.

The infidelity rumors just may be the stars' comeuppance, the bashers say, for all those nauseating photos and love notes they've relentlessly posted on Twitter.

Take the early September pictures Moore, 47, tweeted of herself frolicking around in a bikini. Or the Twit pic of Demi and her 32-year-old "hubby" blissfully lying in bed on their fifth wedding anniversary.

Both came within days of Star magazine running two stories about a supposedly straying Kutcher. One quoted an eyewitness who claims to have seen him kissing a blond 20-something near a restaurant bathroom. The second hinged on an interview with 21-year-old chef Brittney Jones, who says she and Ashton had sex while Demi was away in France filming her new movie 'LOL.'

"All along, Demi was told it would never work, that he's going to cheat," Star quoted a friend as saying. "When she finds out that it happened, she'll be devastated."

Celebrity life coach and relationship expert Patrick Wanis doesn't think Demi and Ashton deserve to be trashed by the tabs. But being as open and in our faces as they have been about their love hasn't helped.

"Ashton and Demi make it worse when they are exposing lots of details about their life, because then they are becoming a part of our household," he tells PopEater. "We think we're a lot closer to them than we are ... When you are public, you're inviting people to make comments."

What fuels the frenzy is the sense of entitlement many people feel toward celebrities, Wanis explains. The more stars go public with their every move, "the more people think they own you. You're part of their family," he says.

The pair has presented a united front since the affair allegations surfaced. Shortly after the stories broke, a Twitter photo emerged on Moore's page showing only the couple's elongated shadows, with the metaphorical caption, "Hubby and I standing tall!"

The more recent public displays are only the latest in a very, very long string of public displays put on by the couple. Once, they tweeted from different rooms in their house about plans to have dinner and sex. On another occasion, they wrote about their naked workouts. And while they were at a wedding last year, Kutcher snapped a photo of his wife bending over in a white bathing suit and posted it on Twitter.

"Watching my wife steam my suit while wearing a bikini," tweeted Kutcher alongside the picture. "I love God!"

    And the list goes on.

Sickening? Yes. The silly PDAs have even reportedly offended Moore's three kids. But does that mean Demi and Ashton should be battered about by the tabloids, whether the rumors of an affair are true or not?

Maybe. Especially since they've taken to Twitter to address the scandal.

"I think Star magazine calling me a 'cheater' qualified as defamation," Kutcher wrote on September 1. "I hope my lawyer agrees."

Two minutes later, he added, "STAR magazine -- you don't get to stand behind 'freedom of the press' when you are writing fiction."

When will a Twitter addict ever learn?

It isn't just online that they're falling all over themselves to prove the rumors wrong. During public appearances since the scandal broke, the couple have fawned over each other even more than usual. And if you're not familiar with their antics, that's an awful lot of fawning.

Privately, however, sources have said they're "angry" about the stories and have told those close to them not to ask questions, according to PEOPLE magazine.

Some suspect the pair's age gap has finally taken its toll.

"Somehow, I thought it was going to come back to haunt them," a source told PEOPLE. "He got married young, and, as crass as this sounds, never seemed to have his fill. [but] they seemed super committed."

Still, maybe the critics are right. Maybe Demi and Ashton have only themselves -- and all their gushing and tweeting -- to blame.

As for how the saga will unfold, don't worry. You're sure to find out soon enough ... as long as you keep checking Twitter.

  12. Stress lands Wyclef Jean in hospital

Wyclef Jean was hospitalized over the weekend at an undisclosed location due to "symptoms of stress and fatigue,” Jean’s rep told CNN. The musician has since been released, and his rep added that Jean “will be fine – just needs the space to recover.”

The 37-year-old has had “an extremely grueling three months–truly an exhausting eight months, since the earthquake when he recommitted himself to our homeland and his passion for our people,” his rep explained further in a statement.

The former Fugee “is currently suffering the effects of lack of sleep and stress, global travel, even the endless public eye, and has asked that his fans and supporters bear with him for the next several days as he regains his physical health and stamina.”

Jean is planning to head back to work a week from today, and “will be back out in front of the crusade to rebuild Haiti and his pledge to make it even better for business,” according to the statement.

The artist announced his intent to run for president of Haiti in August, but was deemed ineligible. Jean officially ended his bid for presidency last week. In a statement, he said fans can expect a new album, "If I Were President, the Haitian Experience," in February.

  13. Lindsay Lohan's Lawyer Threatened by Michael

9/26/2010 2:37 PM PDT by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, worked miracles running back and forth to court Friday to spring her client from jail, but it wasn't good enough for Michael Lohan. TMZ has learned daddy Lohan left a voicemail and texts on Holley's phone, threatening to "blow you out of the water."

Sources tell us the voicemail -- left earlier in the week -- also threatened to "dig up dirt" on Shawn, as well as Lindsay's business manager, Lou Taylor.

Michael left two text messages on Holley's phone Friday after the court hearing, telling her she should do Lindsay a favor and quit. In another text, Michael claimed Holley and Taylor were destroying the Lohan family.

Michael went nuclear at the Bev Hills Courthouse Friday morning after Judge Elden Fox threw Lindsay in jail. Fox's decision was reversed later that day after Holley filed an appeal, and Lindsay got out of jail Friday night.

We're told Holley, who could not be reached for comment, will not seek a restraining order.

    It's just Michael being Michael.

UPDATE: Michael tells TMZ, "It's true. I said those things ... but it’s spun. I wasn’t knocking Shawn for working all those hours ... I was knocking the fact that I told them to do this [send Lindsay to rehab] a long time ago. Just now they’re listening."

  14. Lindsay Lohan Reportedly Aiming For Early Jail Release

But L.A. Sheriff's spokesperson tells People the starlet won't be released until her October hearing.

    By Mawuse Ziegbe (@mawuseziegbe)

Lindsay Lohan has returned to jail, an increasingly familiar place for the troubled starlet. However, the actress is reportedly trying to leave her new digs as soon as possible. Radar Online reports that Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, huddled with Judge Elden Fox and the deputy district attorney on Friday (September 24), hours after the actress was sent to jail for the second time in three months.

"Lindsay's lawyer is asking that bail be set," a Lohan source told the website. "Shawn Chapman Holley contends that Judge Fox must grant Lohan bail pending the probation-violation hearing on October 22."

Lohan was sent back to prison after she admitted to failing a recent drug test. According to the requirements of her release after rehab, a positive drug and/or alcohol test is grounds for additional jail time. Judge Fox denied the "Freaky Friday" actress bail and she was handcuffed and taken into custody. Lohan is expected to remain locked up until her hearing next month.

Lohan's lawyer did not respond to MTV News' request for comment at press time.

Although Lohan's legal muscle is apparently pulling out all the stops to get her released early, authorities maintain the actress won't be sprung until her next court date.

"Ms. Lohan cannot be released early because this isn't a jail sentence," L.A. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told People. "She's being held by court order until her hearing on October 22. She will be held in the same conditions as her last stay, in a keep-away unit."

She may not be headed for an early exit, but her entrance into prison is similar to her last visit. "She's now being processed through, she's going to go through the same physical and mental evaluation," said Whitmore, who noted that, "for the safety and security of the entire jail system," Lohan will be separated from her fellow inmates.

In July, Lohan served 13 days of a 90-day jail sentence over a probation violation stemming from a 2007 DUI conviction. She followed up the jail time with 23 days in a court-ordered rehab facility, less than a third of her 90-day sentence.

  15. Michael Lohan: Lindsay Shouldn't Return to Jail

    Credit: GSI Media

    Friday – September 24, 2010 – 1:11pm

Michael Lohan is outraged that his troubled daughter Lindsay has been sent back to the slammer.

"I'd rather be in jail than my daughter today," he told UsMagazine.com after Friday's shocking ruling. "Jail is not good for anybody."

He told Us he wishes Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox had sent the 24-year-old actress -- who has admitting failing at least one drug test - to rehab instead.

Said Michael, "She has not gotten the help with her addiction yet."

He lashed out at the actress' attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and manager Lou Taylor, whom he said got his daughter released early from inpatient rehab at UCLA Medical Center on Aug. 24. (Prior to rehab, Lindsay served nearly two weeks in jail in her three-year-old DUI case.)

"They are destroying my daughter's life," he said. "It is a horrible situation," he added.

He said that he hoped "God would come into her life and touch her."
