  1. Report: 'Two and a Half Men' shuts down for the season

    By Anna Chan, TV Editor

Uh oh. Looks like Charlie Sheen's wild radio rant on "The Alex Jones Show" Thursday is having a really negative impact.

Gossip site TMZ.com reports that the hit CBS show is immediately stopping production for the rest of the season, even though Sheen was originally scheduled to return to the set next week.

"Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of 'Two and a Half Men' for the remainder of the season," the network said in a statement.

In case you missed it, the troubled actor said some pretty nasty things on Jones' show. He called "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre a "turd" and made it clear that he didn't think the wildly popular show could survive without him. "Do what you're gonna do -- I'll go make movies," he said in the interview.

But that's not all. Sheen continued his rant by making a few comments to TMZ: "I violently hate (Lorre)," the actor said. "He's a stupid, stupid little man and a (expletive) punk that I'd never want to be like. That's me being polite."

  2. Is Kathy Griffin Dating...the Old Spice Guy?!

    Wed., Feb. 23, 2011 2:50 PM PST

by Marc Malkin and Brett Malec

Looks like Kathy Griffin may be spicing up her life.

I'm told that the outspoken funnylady has been spending some serious time with—ready for this?—Isaiah Mustafa.

    Yup, the Old Spice Guy!

Have things actually turned romantic between the two? Read on to find out...

A source tells me that Griffin and Mustafa first met months ago. Maybe it was back in August at the Creative Arts Emmys, where they did a joint interview on the red carpet with our own Kristin Dos Santos? Not longer after that, Griffin tweeted a pic of the two of them with the post reading, "A gift from me 2 u. Here I am with the super hot Old Spice Guy. Feel free to photoshop ur face over mine."

Our source says they started spending more time together within the last month or so. The source wouldn't describe the relationship as "romantic," but says, "They're getting to know each other."

Mustafa's rep tells me, "Isaiah said they are just good friends and have a blast hanging out." The former football player was most recently linked to Scream star Neve Campbell.

Mustafa was not only spotted at Griffin's Trevor Project benefit concert in L.A. in December, but the two were also together earlier this month at Cher's final performance of her Las Vegas show. I actually saw them at the Sin City airport the following morning hopping on a flight back to L.A.

Mustafa was also with Griffin at the Grammys last week. Then last night, they were spotted sitting together and chatting at the Costume Designer Guild Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Wonder what Griffin's Alaska pal Levi Johnston thinks about all this.

  3. Judge to Lindsay Lohan: 'You will be going to jail' if case is settled

    February 23, 2011 | 9:33 am

Judge Keith Schwartz said Wednesday at Airport Courthouse that he will send actress Lindsay Lohan to jail if she accepts a deal offered by prosecutors.

Although terms of that deal were not immediately made public, Schwartz said Lohan would have to plead guilty or no contest to charges. Prosecutors have alleged that she stole a necklace from a Venice jewelry store.

"This case does involve jail time -- period," Schwartz said. "If you plead in front of me -- if this case resolves in front of me -- you are going to jail. Period. It may be an issue as to amount of time."

Schwartz said that if Lohan rejects the offer the case will be set for a preliminary hearing in front of another judge. She must decide by her next court date on March 10.

Schwartz said he plans to treat Lohan like any other "John Doe" or "Jane Doe." He did say that he suspects Lohan and her attorney, Shawn Holley, will reject the prosecution's offer.

The last time Lohan appeared before Schwartz, he had warned her not to push her luck.

"You're no different than anyone else," Schwartz said at the time. "If you violate the law, I will remand you and set no bail, and your attorney won't be successful this time."

Lohan has been charged with stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store. The felony grand theft charges are by far the most serious she's faced, and if convicted, could bring her significant jail time. Lohan has pleaded not guilty.

Law enforcement sources told The Times that the case against Lohan includes store surveillance video showing the actress wearing the necklace. Paparazzi photos taken days later also show the actress wearing the necklace. The case file also includes statements from people who were inside the store at the same time as Lohan, said the sources, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because the case was ongoing.

Lohan has been in and out of court and rehab over the last two years. She spent three months at the rehab center in Rancho Mirage under orders from Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox, who spared the actress jail time in October after Lohan had tested positive for drugs while on probation in a DUI case. If she is convicted in the necklace theft, she would serve jail time for that crime and also be eligible for additional detention for violating her probation.

Riverside County prosecutors said they are still considering whether to file charges against her for allegedly shoving an employee at the Betty Ford clinic last year. The employee reported that Lohan had assaulted her but has since said she does not want to press charges.

  4. Lindsay Lohan cited for speeding Monday in West Hollywood [updated]

    February 23, 2011 | 8:38 am

Lindsay Lohan, whose court troubles have been well-documented, had another brush with the law Monday in West Hollywood. [updated at 10:52 a.m.: An earlier version of this post had Lohan getting the ticket Sunday at 9 p.m.:]

The "Mean Girls" and "Herbie Fully Loaded" star was in the 400 block of San Vicente Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. when L.A. County sheriff's deputies clocked her going nearly double the speed limit -- 59 mph in a 30 mph zone, said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

It was not immediately clear what Lohan was doing in the neighborhood, but she was cooperative and cited for speeding, Whitmore said.

Lohan was scheduled to appear at the Airport Courthouse on Wednesday for a hearing in connection with the alleged theft of a $2,500, "one-of-a-kind" necklace from a Venice jewelry store.

  5. D.A.'s Offer: Six Months in Jail for Lindsay

41 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Sources connected with the Lindsay Lohan case tell TMZ ... the offer Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers made to Lindsay's lawyer in chambers was SIX MONTHS in jail.

Judge Keith Schwartz said in open court he had a feeling Shawn Holley would pass on the D.A.'s offer. That's because Lindsay will not accept jail time -- at least not now.

But here's why we're almost positive Lindsay will eventually cop a plea. She is going to jail no matter what.

The judge ruled Lindsay's preliminary hearing and probation violation case will be heard at the same time. At the end of the preliminary hearing, if the judge feels it's more likely than not that she stole the necklace, Lindsay will be thrown in jail immediately while she awaits trial on the grand theft case.

So even if Lindsay is ultimately found not guilty at trial, she'll still be in jail for the probation violation.

Short story ... it's likely Holley will plead guilty or no contest on behalf of her client, and then hope the judge gives Lindsay less than 6 months.

  6. Judge to Lindsay: If You Plead, You're Going to Jail

6 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan just got the word from the judge -- if she accepts a plea bargain, she WILL go to jail.

TMZ broke the story this morning ... the judge will throw Lindsay in jail if she accepts a plea bargain.

Judge Keith Schwartz told the famous defendant bluntly, "I don't care that you're Lindsay Lohan."

Judge Schwartz did not say how much jail time Lindsay would do if she cops a plea.

And, Judge Schwartz wants a psychological evaluation that will help him understand what makes Lindsay tick and what particular sentence is appropriate.

The judge explained ... if Lindsay pleads guilty or no contest, it will be an automatic admission she violated her probation.

And the judge announced what TMZ first reported ... Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers made a formal offer to settle the case. Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, will noodle over the offer before deciding, but the judge indicated Lindsay's probably not going to accept the D.A.'s offer. As we reported, Meyers wants significant jail time.

If Lindsay doesn't accept a plea, she'll stand trial and if she's found guilty she could get 1 year in state prison.

Lindsay is back in court on March 10. She has the option of pleading guilty and basically throwing herself at the court's mercy.

  7. Dina Lohan opens up on Lindsay's 'lifelong struggle'

Actress' mom said she knew 'early on' that daughter had addiction issues

Dina Lohan told ABC's "20/20" on Friday that Lindsay is facing “a lifelong struggle with addiction,” but she believes her daughter no longer drinks. Access Hollywood Access Hollywood

    updated 2/18/2011 5:35:24 PM ET 2011-02-18T22:35:24

Dina Lohan embarked on a media blitz on Friday, opening up in a series of interviews about daughter Lindsay Lohan and what she says is her daughter’s “lifelong struggle with addiction.”

Despite her continual legal issues, Dina feels that her 24-year-old daughter has turned a corner in her life.

Dina Lohan embarked on a media blitz on Friday, opening up in a series of interviews about daughter Lindsay Lohan and what she says is her daughter’s “lifelong struggle with addiction.”

“Betty Ford was life changing for all of us. I mean, I’ve put her in a couple of rehabs over the years, and, you know, it’s not about the rehab, it’s about where she is personally in her sobriety and her growth. She’s matured considerably,” Dina told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday.

Dina revealed that she’s uncertain how Lindsay will fare against her felony grand theft charge, where she’s accused of stealing a necklace from a jewelry store.

“I’m not convinced about anything because the system is the system. I’m a firm believer in the system, but anything can happen, especially in [Hollywood],” she said.

In a separate interview with Chris Cuomo on “20/20,” airing Friday night, Dina said Lindsay is facing “a lifelong struggle with addiction,” but she believes her daughter no longer drinks.

“I think she’s gonna be OK,” she said in the interview airing Friday at 10 PM on ABC. “She’s a young girl struggling. You know, she’s not perfect. … She’s learning as she goes, but she’s learning under a microscope, so I can’t even imagine how that is.”

According to Dina, Lindsay’s problems began in 2004 when she moved to Los Angeles.

“I knew early on, I just didn’t tell anyone about it. It was a personal situation,” she continued. “I saw it visually, what was happening. You know, I’m around my children. I was around Lindsay a lot, and I saw what was happening. I grabbed the bull by the horns and tried to get her help immediately.”

Adding, “I never thought it would be this — the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level. It’s been really hard on my family, harder than anything.”

..Early Friday morning, Lindsay was photographed with ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson leaving Hollywood hotspot Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel.

Later on Friday morning, Samantha Tweeted, “watching grey’s anatomy-my fav show- @lindsaylohan sleeping next 2 me- should i wake her up to let her know her mom is going on GMA? #why ?”

Lindsay is currently out on bail on a felony grand theft charge in Los Angeles and is due back in court on Feb. 23.

  8. Justin Bieber On Health Care: U.S. System 'Evil'

    First Posted: 02/16/11 09:51 AM Updated: 02/16/11 10:04 AM

Justin Bieber has taken the United States by storm, but if he gets sick, he may find himself retreating back to Canada -- and not just for the home-cooked meals.

Bieber, a 16-year old popstar who was nominated for two Grammys and saw his bio movie make $30 million this weekend, covers the new issue of Rolling Stone. In addition to talking the usual trappings of fame -- the music, the tour stories, the girls -- the magazine asked him to wade a bit into the political waters. At least on one major issue, he already has a fully formed opinion.

Asked if he wanted to become an American citizen, Bieber made clear his love for Canada -- and its health care system.

"You guys are evil," he told the magazine, out on February 18th. "Canada's the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don't need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you're broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard's baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby's premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home."

It's a surprisingly astute observation for the a 16-year old superstar singer, whose life mainly consists of recording, touring, appearing and otherwise working. But then, few 16-year olds have met President Obama, something Bieber has done twice, including at the White House Easter Egg Roll. He has Obama daughters Sasha and Malia to thank for that.

But while the point is moot because he doesn't plan to vote in the United States, his health care stance and chumminess with the President don't necessarily make him a sideline supporter of the Democratic party.

"I'm not sure about the parties," he said. "But whatever they have in Korea, that's bad."

So at least he's not for dictatorships.

There is at least one issue that he tacts to the right on: abortion.

"I really don't believe in abortion. It's like killing a baby?" And as for extenuating circumstances, such as rape? "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."

The stance should come as no surprise, as Bieber was raised by a very religious born-again Christian mother, Pattie Mallette, and has not been afraid to share his beliefs with fans.

  9. Barbra Streisand regrets 'Glee' remark

Barbra Streisand was among the performers and presenters at Sunday's Grammy Awards.

    By Ree Hines

Stand down, Gleeks. Despite Barbra Streisand’s seemingly dismissive comments last week, the living legend insists she doesn’t have a problem with the hit song and dance show.

On Friday, Streisand responded to the question of whether or not she would ever appear on “Glee” by stating, “Not if I can help it." But by Sunday, Babs was singing a different tune.

“When asked if I would ever appear on ‘Glee,’ I should have said, ‘You never know.’ It was wrong to say, ‘Not if I can help it,” Streisand explained on her website. “What I meant was that I’ve been overwhelmed preparing for my performance on MusiCares, the Grammys, recording a new album, and starting a new movie. So I couldn’t take on any more work, and besides that, I wasn’t asked.

(Note to “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy: ask her already!)

In addition to clearing up the earlier statement, Streisand went on to praise the show that so often references her work.

“I’m so honored that a lead character on ‘Glee’ (Rachel Berry) is so admiring of my work,” Streisand said. “In my speech at MusiCares, I thanked them ‘for exposing young people to music they might otherwise not hear today: Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Darren Criss…you’re all so gifted.’”

  10. On her being single, I think she likes it. I don't think she really wants kids (and you don't need a partner for that), and she may like being able to have fun but not be around someone all the time.

I agree wholeheartedly, but I'd respect her a hell of a lot more if she'd just own that stance publically.

In her interview on The View yesterday, she said no to kids and said she hasn't dated anyone in a year.

ETA: That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if she shows up tomorrow with a secret husband and batch of kids. There is a lot of contradiction in Hollywood.

I can't recall her ever really commenting publicly on any of this in a proactive way. I think the media beats the crap out of her because of her single, dumpee status, and contrast that to Brad and his sick situation. I imagine she wishes people would STOP talking about it. I'm sure she would like to find love again, and it can't be fun having all of your bad dating decisions mocked. We've all had them.

I didn't get married until I was 35, so, yes, Bobby, I did feel the "what's wrong with her" vibe, and it is hurtful. But yes, I did/do look at men in the same way. That being said, there is a big difference in the perception of the carefree bachelor versus the desperate old maid.

Well, I see a lot of women are doing a heck of a good job of being carefree bachelorette's these days. At the least that's the perception. ;)

Jen STILL comments on Brad in the media (I just posted an article of her discussing meeting Perez Hilton and how she STILL communicates with Brad). She can do something about that and request interviewers never bring it up or even decline to answer questions about him. I know that for certain, because publicists of celebs dictate what can or cannot be discussed whenever an actor or actress is doing press for a movie.

  11. Ugh, I hate it when guys judge women for being single. Yep, every woman is desperate to be married, so an attractive woman who isn't married must be nutso. For sure. It's particularly ludicrous when the woman in question has been divorced - seems like it would be even more likely that a woman whose major serious relationship failed would be a bit more jaded about marriage and relationships. (no offense, BobbyD - we're on the same page about most of this, this issue is just a pet peeve of mine). Admittedly, the movies Aniston chooses don't help this: so many of them have her playing roles that completely feed into that stereotype. I think Jennifer Aniston may well be nutso, but not because she hasn't had a long-term relationship post-Pitt.

I liked two, maybe three, Aniston movies: Picture Perfect (cute, harmless, and perfect for her age and persona at the time) and Office Space. The Good Girl and Bruce Almighty were ok. I don't think the problem is romantic comedy vs. drama (although I can't recall the last well-written romantic comedy I've seen). And I don't think the problem is Rachel Green. The problem is that she is choosing abysmal scripts over and over and over. Maybe that's all she's offered, dunno.

Actually, she's doing fine. Marley and Me did well, no? The Break-Up did ok. Not everyone gets to be Julia Roberts (bleh) or whoever else the blockbuster flavor-of-the-month is. Some people just have to be successful working actresses who sometimes are in a movie you kind of like, or a movie you wouldn't pay for in the theater but that you'll watch every time it's on HBO.

But horror? Really? What: Leprechaun 8?

Is it not perfectly natural for both men and women to wonder (or judge) why someone isn't married or with someone? It's hard for me to believe that most men and women don't normally do it when seeking a potential mate. I think it's normal in society. Me and my buddies said something was up for her to be single. That leaves it open to various reasons( and not just batshit implications, lol)...she doesn't want to be married, dating the wrong people (John Mayer, wtf?), not over Brad, high standards, or can't find a mate. I don't see a problem with those thoughts...because in our male experiences, women often look at us the same way. Usually it's how many kids, why no kids, are you gay, don't want to be married, too broke, etc.

No offense taken, but I think it's a normal thing to wonder what's going on. Couldn't that also be looked at as a compliment, when us men see an attractive woman who appears to have it going on and our thoughts drift to that she probably would have no problem getting someone...so what's going on? A lot of women do it to us, trust me. :4biggrin:

It's ok, if people think she's doing fine. I'm in the business side...and her numbers don't match that. She's not a draw...and doesn't have a big fanbase to open a flick. People went to Marley & Me, because it's a well known story about a Dog (they could've had anyone in her role). What role has anyone seen of her where they can actually say, she was excellent in it? (Maybe The Good Girl?)

I think she should try something else. Not completely sold on with her in Horror, either. Unless she could follow Sara Michelle Gellar or Naomi Watts in those Japanese Horror remakes.

  12. Lindsay Police Report Pokes Holes In Jeweler's Story

2/10/2011 6:08 AM PST by TMZ Staff

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The police report detailing how Lindsay Lohan allegedly stole a $2,500 necklace from an L.A. jewelry store shows two puzzling inconsistencies in the jeweler's story -- inconsistencies that could help Lindsay beat the rap.

According to the report, obtained by TMZ, the jeweler first told cops Lindsay had been in the store three times before the alleged theft -- looking at the necklace in question. The next day, the jeweler changed her story and said it was actually a ring Lindsay had been eyeing on previous visits and never looked at the necklace.

And there's another inconsistency. According to the report, on January 23, the owner told cops, "The surveillance video revealed that as Kaman [owner] was talking to Lindsay's male friend, Lohan reached up to her neck area with both hands, removed the store necklace, and placed it inside her black Chanel bag."

But the next day, the owner changed her story, saying Lindsay walked out of her store with the necklace around her neck. The reason for the inconsistency -- the owner claims she reviewed the video on a different monitor the second time and saw it differently.

The jewelry store owner's credibility is crucial because Lindsay claims the owner loaned the necklace to her.

  13. I like her. I saw her on The View today, and thought she was funny and charming. I do think she tips off her own publicity, and she has made millions doing it.

I like her movies (well most of them), and I really don't care if I see Rachel over and over again. It is what she is good at, so I'm not sure why it is bad to stick with what you know.

I do hear you(even though I dislike her). I figured she could've gotten something on TV (specifically HBO or Showtime) and have a career like Sarah Jessica Parker. She might've reached a whole wider audience or fan base. However, I do believe she belongs on TV. But like u said, if it works for her...fine.

Me and a couple of guy friends were discussing how she is ok looking(would hit it in a minute) and for her to still remain single after BP...something's going on.

  14. Should Aniston have stuck with television?

Actress hopes audiences will 'Just Go With It,' but she's forever Rachel Green to many

Jennifer Aniston stars with Adam Sandler in romantic comedy "Just Go With It." But is she still just playing Rachel Green from "Friends"?

    By Michael Ventre

    TODAYshow.com contributor TODAYshow.com contributor

    COMMENTARY

Once she was one-sixth of “Friends.” Now she is 100 percent Jennifer Aniston. Yet in the public’s mind, the math gets a little fuzzy.

Movie fans will see her in the romantic comedy “Just Go With It” alongside Adam Sandler. Some will look at her and see Rachel Green, her character on the megahit NBC series. Others can put a little distance between her and Rachel.

(TODAYshow.com is a part of msnbc.com, which is a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC Universal.)

But there don't seem to be many who can completely separate Aniston from Rachel. And that’s the rub.

“I think she’s playing the same character from ‘Friends’ over and over again,” said Chris Nashawaty, senior writer for Entertainment Weekly. “It’s a tricky thing with her movies. She’s made a bunch, they do OK at the box office, and some do really well. The problem is most don’t get great reviews. I suspect this Adam Sandler movie will be one of those.

Don't miss these Entertainment stories Sony Pictures Should Aniston have stuck with television?

Former "Friends" star is hoping that audiences will "Just Go With It," but she'll forever be Rachel Green to many.

“The bottom line is whether she’s a good actress. I would say she’s a good TV actress. She obviously had a role on ‘Friends’ that was iconic, a character that people related to and was beloved. But you can’t reproduce that character over and over again or you’ll get diminishing returns.”

Story: Jennifer Aniston turned down 'SNL' for 'Friends'

“Friends” ended in 2004. Before it did, Aniston made two films that suggested first-rate things were ahead in her big-screen future. She was Joanna, love interest to Ron Livingston’s Peter, in writer-director Mike Judge’s brilliant 1999 spoof of white-collar cubicle angst, “Office Space.” And she earned sparkling reviews in “The Good Girl,” a 2002 comedy-drama about a store clerk seeking love.

But lately she has appeared in a series of romantic-themed pictures that drift back to Rachel territory, such as “Rumor Has It ...,” “The Break-Up,” “Management,” “Love Happens” and “The Switch,” with varying degrees of commercial success and almost universally tepid critical reaction.

She has taken some chances in between. She starred alongside Clive Owen in “Derailed,” a 2005 thriller. She had a role in Nicole Holofcener’s 2006 ensemble piece, “Friends With Money.” (“I found her lovely and fun to work with,” said the director.) She co-starred with Owen Wilson in “Marley & Me,” in which both took a backseat to a nutty pooch. And last year she and Gerard Butler frolicked in the action comedy “The Bounty Hunter.”

Yet for the most part — for better or worse — it’s been difficult for her to shake the shadow of Rachel. In some ways, that’s a positive because Aniston banked plenty of good will during the 10 seasons she appeared on “Friends.”

“You know why people pay so much attention to her is that we’re really rooting for her,” said Grae Drake, film critic for movies.com. “Jennifer Aniston has so many people on her side (because of) ‘Friends.’ She’s so funny and talented that we want her to be good. It kills us when she’s not good, or she’s not in a vehicle that’s good for her. I really take her work personally.”

    No more rom-coms!

But even someone who admires the actress as much as Drake does would like to see her stretch a bit. “Personally, I’m done seeing her in romantic comedies,” she said. “I think that’s also Jennifer Lopez’s problem. I’m done with these romantic comedy cookie-cutter things. I think she (Aniston) should go outside the box.

“Let’s get her in an old-school horror film. Put her in something unexpected.”

Some of the issue centers on any actor’s penchant for playing themselves, or bringing significant amounts of themselves to roles. Wendy Girard, one of the top acting coaches in Los Angeles, said that is natural and understandable.

“Every actor has to bring himself or herself to a role because that’s all you’ve got,” she said. “You’re the instrument. But if you study and work hard and develop, then you get into your capacity to explore character. Not just the charming social side of your personality but the vast dimensions of all of humanity that are encompassed in literature. That’s where training comes in.

“In a feature film, you start from scratch. You’re creating a new character. With a TV series it’s the same thing over and over, just different situations.”

The opinions of average movie fans on Aniston’s career and talents vary:

From Rick Suvalle of Los Angeles: “I loved her on ‘Friends,’ but she can’t pick a movie to star in to save her life.”

From Elizabeth Korecky of Newport News, Va.: “Personally I prefer her in more serious roles than the comedy stuff she’s doing a lot lately. She simply doesn’t have a comedic face.”

From Carol Strahlendorf Vega of West Milford, N.J.: “Like her, don’t love her. I think she is an OK actress, not award-winning — but entertaining in the right role.”

From Joan Schlecter Gruskin of Southwest Ranches, Fla.: "Saw the worst movie in a long time: ‘The Bounty Hunter.’ She starred in it. Really awful."

After “Just Go With It,” fans who want to see her embark on a radically different career path may have to wait a bit. She has two more comedies set for release. One is “Horrible Bosses,” in which she stars opposite Jason Bateman in a story about three friends who conspire to kill their mean managers when they realize it’s the only way to true happiness; and the other is “Wanderlust,” in which she and Paul Rudd play a couple who seek out a more bohemian lifestyle.

Bottom line: The movie jury is still out on Jennifer Aniston.

Said EW’s Nashawaty: “She’s making safe choices, but they may end up being bad choices. She needs to show she can do something else.”

  15. Judge CRUSHES Lohan -- 'Don't Push Your Luck!'

2/9/2011 2:07 PM PST by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan was just remanded into custody -- following a STRONG warning from Judge Keith Schwartz -- "You're no different than anyone else ... please don't push your luck."

Moments after Lohan entered a not guilty plea in her felony theft case -- the judge came down on her like a ton of bricks ... telling her "things will be different" this time around because she's on the hook for a felony.

During the hearing, Judge Schwartz said Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and prosecutor Danette Meyers, were going to meet to possibly reach a plea bargain.

Lohan -- alongside attorney Holley -- was then remanded into custody ... and is currently being booked.

Judge Schwartz set her bail at $20,000 -- but warned, "If you violate the law, I will remand you and there will be NO BAIL."

The judge also revoked Lindsay's probation in the DUI case and set bail at $20,000 -- so total bail is $40,000.

Lohan was also ordered to refrain from contacting the jewelry store during the case, after Meyers said someone had sent the store owners flowers, which kind of freaked them out.

UPDATE 2:48 PM PT: Lindsay has posted bail.

  16. Charlie Sheen: 'I'll Pay the Crew'

2/9/2011 12:30 PM PST by TMZ Staff

Charlie Sheen has notified members of the "Two and a Half Men" crew that he will pay a portion of their salaries for the two weeks the show has been down ... if CBS and Warner Bros. agree to pay the remaining portion.

TMZ has confirmed ... Charlie is saying he is ready to come back to work next week to complete the season. We're told Charlie is upset that Warner Bros. and show creator Chuck Lorre have not offered to pay the crew for the downtime, so he's made an offer to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries if Warner Bros. and CBS each pay 1/3 as well.

A CBS exec tells TMZ ... no one on the show is ready to go back to work on Monday. We're told under the best of circumstances the show will come back at the end of the month, assuming Charlie can handle it.

And the CBS exec adds, no one has asked the network to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries for the downtime.

A Warner Bros. exec would not address Charlie's financial offer but told us ... "We sincerely hope that Charlie's rehab is going well. We hope that he is healthy in the very near future and we look forward to the return of production of 'Two and a Half Men.'"

  17. I dunno, Bobby. It's the old double-standard. Charlie Sheen is on a television show that basically glamorizes his behavior, and RDJ has a human appeal that Lindsay entirely lacks. And I doubt indies pay what Lindsay needs. I've said it before: look at Dana Plato.

You legal eagles out there: any chance LL could be tossed in the slammer today? Or will it have to wait until Feb 25 if it happens?

Great analogy about Dana Plato..but her career was over long before she got put in the slammer and eventually succumbed to her demons (not in the prime of her career). She only had Different Strokes. Lindsay has more credits...the experts constantly say she has more talent and was very marketable as well...not just a TV actress with one hit show. She was in Mean Girls and Freaky Friday...with decent performances.

There are directors/producers out there who are still willing to put her in movies(Tarantino admitted it...Joel Silver, Robert Rodriguez (Machette) Sure she may have to take a pay cut for indie flicks and get some heavy insurance...but that doesn't mean she's done. She also can do Dancing With The Stars or a Reality show (Dr. Drew)...don't forget those werer actual offers she had gotten.

So it's a much wider media base then what Dana Plato had during her time...if she was still alive today, she probably would've wound up on Celebrity Rehab.

  18. Sadly...I don't think her career is over. Even if she goes to jail, even if she continues this deviant behavior. Someone will step in and still hire her...indie projects. But she will be hired. It's a business where having a prison record, drug problems, don't matter. She's also young.

I have to repeat what I hear from my co-workers when they say, look at RDJ and Charlie Sheen.

  19. Nancy Grace Can't Believe Lindsay Lohan Isn't in Jail

By Rob Shuter Posted Feb 9th 2011 11:31AM

Nancy Grace may not be surprised that Lindsay Lohan isn't behind bars right this second, but that doesn't mean she isn't infuriated by it. The 'Swift Justice' host and no-nonsense prosecutor tells me there's a "two-tier justice system" in place that affords celebs with a whole different set of rules.

"I believe celebrities get into so much trouble because they think the rules don't apply to them," Nancy said. "It think it becomes instinct that they can do, say whatever they want, and there's no repercussions."

The 'Mean Girls' star may actually have bitten off more than she can chew this time, and she's being charged with felony grand theft for allegedly swiping a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store last month. A couple weeks after taking the necklace, a friend dropped it off at a police station, and Lindsay's dad told me he thought she was loaned the merchandise. Sketchy!

"She's on video! She goes in the store without the necklace. She comes out with the necklace," she said, amazed. "I don't know about you, but when I make a return, it's directly to Target. I usually don't send it to the LAPD!"

Nancy said the fact that Lindsay wasn't immediately "thrown down on the asphalt" outside the store and prosecuted within days of the incident is directly tied to her being a celebrity.

"Let's just say you send a black girl into that same jewelry story, or an educated person or a poor person, they come away with a $2,500 necklace, honey, and they would be thrown down on the asphalt and dragged by their feet back into the store and prosecuted."

If convicted, LiLo could be sent to a California state prison with a maximum sentence of three years behind bars. She's currently on supervised probation for a past drunk driving conviction, and the judge overseeing her case told her in October that she would be sent to jail for 180 days if she violated her probation rules before her next court appearance, which is set for Feb. 25.
