  1. Yeah, but Neil is an extraordinarily gifted comedy actor. T.R. is puppy dog cute, and so-so as a dramatic actor. I think those things have far more bearing on where their careers are now than their sexual orientation.

    I agree.

I personally have no problem sexually fantasizing about an actor who happens to be gay vs one I believe to be straight. Cause my chances with either are slim to none. Desn't affect my fantasy life. If a role is well written and the actor is good - to me that's a far better indicator than sexual orientation of whether or not I "buy" a person as that character.

I loved NPH in the short-lived show with Tony Shaloub where he was an editor and Shaloub was a writer - total opposite from his Monk role. I love NPH in everything he's ever been in, quite frankly ;-)

Bulldog on Frasier- always hitting on Roz. Great character role. I do think there's far more flexibility in who is hired for a "character" role than a romantic lead. Which is annoying.

While there is no doubt NPH is talented and gifted(I was not doubting that). But reality check, how many leading man roles(outside of Kumar) have u seen him cast in since he came out while he was on the show? He has done a great enough job on the Emmy hosting gig....probably should've gotten the Oscar hosting gig over James Franco.

My company is in no hurry to cast him in anything leading man-wise (sadly) for our films. So it's still going to be a while, unless he pops up in something independent.

I need to correct that it was "T.R. Knight" was the actor's name..and I thought he was a good actor...he was nominated for an Emmy on Grey's Anatomy before he left. This business doesn't necessarily recognize or cast the most talented or gifted actors for roles... the cast of Twilight, anyone? :4biggrin:

  2. Gwyneth Paltrow advises, enrages working moms

    Gwyneth Paltrow, typical working mom

    By Rebecca Dube

Hey working moms, are you stressed out? Overworked and busy? Well, millionaire movie star Gwyneth Paltrow knows just how you feel.

Yes, Paltrow has done it again: given everyone "a massive case of the stabbies," in the words of TheFrisky.com. On her web site, GOOP, she claims a reader e-mailed her about balancing career and motherhood. (Just a theory: Gwyneth got one of those "Moms: Make $$$ working from home!" e-mails and mistook it for a personal entreaty.) It got Gwynnie thinking about "other extremely busy working mothers I know." Oh yes, she said other -- as in, other extremely busy working mothers like her, the fabulously wealthy movie star wife of a rock star. Just so we can all see how it’s done, she gives us the run-down of a typical “manic” day in her life.

Long story short: Get kids off to school, work out, shower, rehearsal for Country Music Awards, dress fittings, phone calls, make cupcakes with kids, put kids to bed, girls’ night out. God, it’s like she looked into my day planner… and my SOUL!

Gwyneth has, predictably, drawn criticism for thinking that her extremely privileged life bears any resemblance to that of an ordinary working mother. However, her GOOP essay includes some fascinating nuggets, including these three Gwyneth facts:

    1. She has a time-travelling portal in her kitchen. According to her "day in the life," her 4.5-year-old son Moses wakes at 8 a.m., and she needs to leave the house with Moses and 6-year-old Apple at 8:20. These are the things she does in 20 minutes: makes eggs and toast for Moses, "followed by a spoonful of lemon flavored flax oil," gets children dressed, packs and finishes decorating shoe boxes filled with toys for less fortunate children (their mothers probably don't give them lemon flax oil). And they make it to school on time! The laws of time and space bend before the will of mighty Gwyneth.

    2. Magical elves drive her car, clean her house and watch her children at night. She's quite the multi-tasker in the car, answering e-mails, conducting interviews and doing voice exercises. "Fellow drivers looked on a bit bewildered," she reports. Maybe she means the fellow who IS her driver looked bewildered. But there's no mention of a driver or servants, nor of babysitters when she leaves home for a "girl's night out." Then again, maybe she leaves her 4- and 6-year-old children home alone to go party with the girls, because she's just gangsta like that.

    3. She understands multitasking. "Did dance aerobics for 45 minutes then all of the butt lifts and the like. Rushed upstairs to have a shower, doing my post workout stretch while the conditioner was doing its magic on my hair to combine activities/save time." Wait, you stretched your butt muscles WHILE conditioning your hair?! Have the MacArthur genius grants all been given away this year? She has so much to teach us.

  3. These people need to watch Barney/Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother and tell me again how an audience won't buy a gay actor playing straight. If someone can do it on TV where people see it weekly on their home TVs, they'll accept it in a movie theater.

Well...P, in all honesty he did kinda, sorta, come out after he had been on the show. If he had come out before...don't think he would've gotten the job. I love me some Doogie...but, he was employed first.

Does the name, T.R. Mcknight ring a bell?

  4. Jane Lynch: Studios Won't Cast Gay Leading Actors

    First Posted: 01/13/11 05:12 PM Updated: 01/13/11 05:37 PM

America fell in love with Jane Lynch on 'Glee,' but the gay rights advocate doesn't think America is ready to fall for gay romantic leading actors.

Speaking to the website AfterElton.com on Wednesday, Lynch said that studios are hesitant to cast gay people in the role of leading actor and actress, at least in romantic films, because they don't think the audience could handle it.

"I don't know when or if that will ever happen. I think because since most of the world is straight -- and maybe we'll get to a place where this will happen -- most of the world is straight and we want the audience to project their hopes and dreams for love and romance onto those actors," Lynch said. "And if it's not in some way possible, maybe never probably, in their mind that it could never happen, then they're not going to do it. You know, most people are straight, and I think that's probably why."

Calling Hollywood a business, Lynch reasoned that people want to love and desire leads from afar, and wouldn't be able to trick themselves into thinking it was possible to be with an actor or actress if they were gay in real life.

That said, Lynch doesn't think that she's been discriminated against, per se.

"Look, I've never -- as far as I know, it's been behind my back if it has -- I've never been turned down for a role because I'm gay. I'm a character actor, and that's probably why. I don't find Hollywood, in my own experience, to be homophobic," Lynch continued. "Have I ever been turned down? I don't know because you never know when you don't get something or why you didn't get it. But I do think the straight folks will continue to play the straight roles."

Actor Rupert Everett in December agreed with Lynch's premise on gay leading actors, but went a few steps further, calling Hollywood conservative and homophobic.

  5. Oh, Boy...a day in the life of Gwyneth (as told by Gwyneth) :vomit2: :

    http://goop.com/newsletter/112/en/

    Gwyneth’s day on November 4th, 2010:

When I got downstairs this morning at the crack of whenever, the coffee machine said “ERROR 8” and wouldn’t let me make the cup I had been dreaming about. This begs the question: is it odd to dream yourself to sleep thinking about the next morning’s coffee? Not a good beginning. Got Apple all fed and dressed in her uniform and ready to go but no sign nor sight of Moses at 8 am and we have to be out of the house by 8:20. I went up to arouse the little man from slumber and he quite happily got up and crawled into my arms. We got downstairs and I made him a quick breakfast of eggs and toast followed by a spoonful of lemon flavored flax oil that I try to remember to give them both every morning. Getting everyone into the car on time was a challenge; we’re going through a phase where no one seems to be responding to me (“Time to put on your shoes” … No response.) It is the school Christmas toy drive deadline today so before jumping into the car, we pack up and finish decorating the shoe boxes with toys, toothbrushes, hats, scarves, books, etc, for the school Christmas toy drive. Once the kids really understand that the toys go to children around the world who will not be as fortunate as they are this year, they very sweetly take trips to the playroom adding their own toys and books to the boxes. Somehow managed to get to school just as the old-fashioned bell rang. Moses was a bit teary today so I hung around and watched him through the window. Periodically he would check to make sure I was still there. When all was well I dodged off as fast as possible but was still late to the 9 am workout. Did dance aerobics for 45 minutes then all of the butt lifts and the like. Rushed upstairs to have a shower, doing my post workout stretch while the conditioner was doing its magic on my hair to combine activities/save time. Dressed quickly and rushed downstairs. On a less manic day, this would be my couple of hours in the office to work on GOOP, come up with ideas, write/edit and go over scheduling, travel, whatever else I have going but I have no time so I just pop the old cabeza in to see if there are any deadlines or fires that need putting out. When I am given the all clear I rush out the door, headed to rehearse with a band to prepare for the Country Music Awards which are just a week away. I’ve never performed live before so I’m preparing for this as if it were the Superbowl, which, in it’s own way, it is. I’ve been having voice lessons with my teacher, Carrie Grant, every day and rehearsing with an amazing London-based band. This will be my fourth and shortest rehearsal of the week, as the day is so full, but I am excited to get in there and see everyone. Had to do my vocal exercises/warmups in the car, sooo not a good look. Fellow drivers looked on a bit bewildered. Rehearsed with the band from 11:30 to 12:30 and then scooted back out to the car and had kind of a big interview on the phone while trying to subtly check/reply to well-overdue email. Got home and had a fitting with super stylist Elizabeth Saltzman for the upcoming Nashville trip (what to wear, what to wear?) from 1-2. This is my 4th out of 5 fittings for this trip. We tried on a myriad of dresses and outfits, and I had b.o. by the end of it from wrestling with all of those dresses. I have six looks I need to choose for the trip; there’s the radio press conference upon arrival, the red carpet for the Country Strong premier, press interviews, a Sony Music VIP dinner, the red carpet for the CMA’s and the outfit for my performance! We manage to finalize all of the looks for the (very nerve wracking) trip. At 2 pm I head into my office with a nice cup of tea for two hours of phone interviews. I am doing lots of these this week, but today’s session is only two hours. I call country radio station after country radio station speaking to some of the nicest and friendliest DJ’s on the planet. Thursday is the one day of the week that I do not pick my kids up after school. They go straight to an activity and I am able to really maximize work stuff. I always feel a bit guilty (obviously) about it, but it means I can focus fully on them when they get home instead of trying to do two things at once. At 4pm, my weekly owners' and managers' call takes place for the Tracy Anderson Method with our brilliant CEO Stephanie Stahl taking the lead. I basically listen and try to learn. Kiddies burst through the door and play in my office while I finish up, just drawing and hanging out and of course playing Plants vs Zombies on the iPad, their obsession that I have to limit like crazy! What up, gamers. Then downstairs to make cupcakes for tomorrow’s bake sale. It is ‘Bonfire night’ in the UK tomorrow and the bake sale is to celebrate and to raise money for charity. We decide on vanilla cupcakes with pink icing and green icing (from Tate’s Bakeshop cookbook with the icing from American Desserts cookbook). At 6:30 pm we all get in the bath and it’s hair washing night for the kids (every other night—never popular). Then back downstairs to check on cupcakes and have a visit from an auntie and uncle. The kids indulge in a super sugary cupcake before bed but I don’t feel too bad because they had a brown rice stir fry for dinner with baked sweet potato on the side. It’s all about balance! My night to lay with Mosey so I tuck Apple in, say a prayer and go into Mosey's room for a story, foot massage and quiet time. As soon as all was quiet, I rushed downstairs to grab a blazer and some blush and flung myself in the car for girls night. Lovely dinner and great conversation. 11:29 pm now, exhausted and ready to do it all again tomorrow!

    Gwyneth’s time saving tips:

1.Schedule your time well. When I know what I am doing from hour to hour I get more done. Write it all in the day’s calendar, what you want to accomplish and in what time frame.

2.Focus on the task at hand. Be thorough.

3.I cook a lot, especially on the weekends, so I like to plan a rough menu for the whole weekend and get the food in on Friday. Obviously stores and websites that deliver make this a dream. In London I use Ocado. Also James Knight, my favorite fishmonger, will deliver. Having all of the ingredients means I'm prepared even when I don't think I am.

4.I always lay the kids uniforms and school things out the night before once they are asleep. When it’s quiet I can check the "kid list" for show and tell items to bring in, consent forms, ballet kit, etc, so that the morning is less of a scramble.

5.The school run is a great time to return calls (in whichever direction that the kids are not in the car) so don't forget your hands-free device.

  6. Arianna Huffington in Airplane Blackberry Flap

    by Kim Foley MacKinnon

    Posted Jan 11th 2011 11:17

Arianna Huffington, author and columnist who runs the popular online site the Huffington Post, was met by Port Authority Police officials at New York's La Guardia after ignoring crew orders to turn off her Blackberry on a United Express flight from Washington's Dulles.

After Huffington's defiance, another passenger confronted her, leading to both of them being questioned by police after the flight landed. Both were released without being charged, reports the New York Post.

The other passenger was identified as Ellis Belodoff, 53, of Plainview, N.Y. Belodoff got up from his seat in protest of her continued chatting and texting, sources tell the Post, and ignored warnings to stay in his seat as he leaped up to complain.

"Hey, lady! Don't you speak English?" the man allegedly heckled Huffington. :4biggrin:

Jen Friedberg, spokeswoman for the Port Authority Police, tells FoxNews.com, "She was asked to turn her phone off by flight attendants and she did. The guy felt she didn't turn off her phone in timely manner."

Friedberg says when the on-board altercation continued, the flight crew contacted Port Authority Police in New York and they sent officers to meet the plane.

"The crew did alert our police when it looked like there was a fight brewing, but by the time they landed our police just spoke to them," she says. "She didn't get escorted off the plane by police. She was in the first row, she would've gotten off the plane first."

As for repercussions, "They both had a talking-to," says Friedberg.

Mario Ruiz, Huffington's spokesman, says "There was a passenger who seemed upset. Arianna thought he didn't like the snacks. Guess not. Maybe he was an iPhone fan. As you know, the battle between iPhone lovers and BlackBerry users can get pretty heated."

In another recent case of a famous person using their Blackberry when told not to, actor Josh Duhamel was escorted off a US Airways Express plane in December for texting.

  7. Vanilla Ice Reveals Why He Broke Up With Madonna

By PopEater Staff Posted Jan 11th 2011 05:15AM

Rapper Vanilla Ice revealed in an interview that he dated Madonna in 1991. It was "exciting" to be in a relationship with an older woman, and she was a "great lover," he told 'News of the World,' according to Digital Spy. He was 24 years old, and Madonna was 33 at the time they were dating.

Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, ended it when Madonna published her 1992 coffee-table book 'Sex,' which featured intimate photographs of the couple and images of her with other men.

"I broke up with her after she printed that book because I was hurt to be an unwitting part of this slutty package," said the 'Ice Ice Baby' rapper. "It was disgusting and cheap. We were in a relationship, yet it looked like she was screwing all these other people."

He goes on to say, "I thought she was taking pictures and running round naked because she was like that. Then when the book came out I was so embarrassed and ashamed. It was a porno. She threw me in like I was a product off a shelf, and I didn't appreciate it. That was it, and I ended it. She said she didn't have sex with these men, but it looked like she was."

Ice is currently participating in the U.K. reality competition 'Dancing on Ice.'

  8. Kim Kardashian dumps Kris Humphries for Kanye West?

Our little JC of the Year may be in the off season of jersey chasing. It appears Kim Kardashian has left New Jersey Nets Kris Humphries for Kanye West. Kardashian and Kanye have been linked together in the past, but Kardashian has always denied the rumors saying they are just friends…. until now.

During an interview for her upcoming music project, Kardashian spoke about collaborating with Kanye, “”I think I’ve just been having a lot of fun.” Kardashian’s younger sister Khloe added, “That’s because they’re boning!” Kim Kardashian didn’t deny the rumor and instead said, “That came out of Khloe’s mouth, not mine!”

While Kardashian has been most recently linked to Humphries, her fourth athlete in the past year, she told Glamour Magazine, “It’s easier to just be single and not have a relationship. How do you get to know someone on a reality show? Some people think that they can handle it, and then they really can’t.”

  9. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes May Boycott Oscars Because of Anne Hathaway

By PopEater Staff Posted Jan 10th 2011 02:45AM

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may boycott the Oscars, as they are reportedly upset with Anne Hathaway, who will be co-hosting the ceremony this year. The Daily Mail quoted a source saying, "Tom and Katie don't want to have to cross paths with Anne."

Hathaway allegedly upset Holmes when she impersonated her in a comedy sketch on 'Saturday Night Live' in November. The source said that the couple used to be friends with Hathaway and supported her when she split from her then-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, in 2008.

The source continues, "Katie feels they were really supportive at a difficult time, so she feels let down that Anne took to national TV to make fun of her. Anne didn't even warn her it was going to be on TV." Watch the SNL skit after the jump.

The source added that the whole thing left a sour taste with Cruise.

A spokesman told the Daily Mail that the 'Mission: Impossible' actor has yet to decide whether he will be attending the Oscars. "It's too early to confirm – it depends on shoot schedules."

Hathaway, 28, along with James Franco, 32, will host the 83rd Academy Awards show Feb. 27. They will be the youngest tandem of Academy Award hosts ever.

  10. Country Strong: Why Paltrow Isn't America's Sweetheart :4biggrin:

By Mary Pols Friday, Jan. 07, 2011

In the unfortunately weak Country Strong, Gwyneth Paltrow plays country-and-western singer Kelly Canter, an alcoholic. She struts, sings, swills, sleeps around and in some truly perilous acting moments, intended to be rich with metaphor, cradles an orphaned baby bird. Anytime an actress steps this far out of her comfort zone, without a strong script to support her, she has to hope audiences are on her side. And they might be, if this were Sandra Bullock, say, or perhaps Jennifer Garner. But this is Paltrow, the American actress whose achievements seem to have piled up in reverse proportion to the goodwill she inspires. If there's an opposite of America's Sweetheart, she's it.

How did this happen? Things started off so well. Paltrow earned deserved praise for films like Emma and Sliding Doors and took home an Oscar at 26 for the winning Shakespeare in Love. A decade ago she was cool enough for Wes Anderson to cast her in The Royal Tenenbaums, playing the aloof and miserable Margot. Now that character seems to have leached over into the public perception of Paltrow herself.

Envy would be the first suspect. Paltrow came to Hollywood as a wealthy insider (her mother is Blythe Danner; the father she lost to cancer in 2002 was director Bruce Paltrow) and dated Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck before marrying British rock star Chris Martin. She has two adorable children, and though 38, she is capable of carrying off shorts with 2-in. (5 cm) inseams. She seems perpetually at her physical peak, which gives her a vibe reminiscent of Dorian Gray. She pals around with Mario Batali, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Even her Spanish is pretty.

When word got out that she'd be making a guest appearance on Glee in November, Gleeks viewed this as an invasion; the woman Britain's Daily Mail once called "the blonde bore" seemed more likely to be a slushie thrower than a kindred spirit to the glee club's misfits. She then proceeded to turn in such a solid performance as a suspiciously perfect substitute teacher (a spoof of her own image; clearly she has a sense of humor) that even her detractors had a hard time denying she was great. Still, the praise had an edge: the New York Times noted that her performance all but erased the recent perception of her as a "smug, unbearable scold." Note the all but. The woman who is clearly one of life's winners can't seem to get ahead in the public-opinion polls.

Is the problem that Paltrow appears superhuman? Actually, no. Thanks to her two-year-old lifestyle website, Goop.com (she's said Goop is an old nickname), we know just how human she is. For instance, she sometimes feels compelled to starve herself on miso soup, greens and tidbits of protein for a week to "detox." On Goop.com we can watch a video of her making guacamole for her children Apple and Moses and see that it is no more magical or complicated than when we make it. We know that looking as she does requires her to work out at least 90 minutes a day six days a week, often accompanied by a personal trainer who used to train her friend Madonna and is now Paltrow's business partner. We know she likes to shop locally and that she enjoys a bargain (Goop tip: Spanish Cava is much cheaper than Champagne) as much as she does a "cozy" $1,095 spike-heeled winter boot. Like any celebrity, Paltrow lives behind glass, but her authorship of Goop takes the tint off her windows. It's like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous narrated by the rich, famous and self-congratulatory.

When someone like Chelsea Handler tells Paltrow, as she did during a November interview, "I love you," the words carry more than a hint of "I know I'm bucking a trend here." Handler went on to rave about Paltrow's singing and even suggested she make an album. Paltrow graciously accepted the compliment. But if she needed it, it didn't show. A lack of humility may be the issue — that and the dangers of taking your act cross-platform. The very existence of her website suggests Paltrow assumes we are eager to sit at her knee. She has said she wants to share the wealth of opportunities she's had — from talking novels with Christy Turlington to staying at the best hotels — and she does, magnanimously, in e-mail newsletters signed, "love, GP." The implication is, Of course you'd like to be me. Her lifestyle-guru identity, combined with the cookbook she's got coming out in April, suggests Paltrow aspires to be an object of emulation, an Oprah with an Oscar.

Yet pop culture has cast her not so much in the role of helpful nurturer as in that of the mother-in-law you will never be good enough for. She slings that guitar around like a champion in Country Strong, and when Kelly's onstage, she bravely and astutely taps into the necessary narcissism of a big-time performer. But neither Paltrow nor writer-director Shana Feste ever make us understand this troubled character in full, and the personal satisfactions and triumphs of Paltrow (those legs!) cast a long, distracting shadow. When Kelly's manager-husband James (Tim McGraw) tells her young love interest Beau (Garrett Hedlund, in a performance as alluring as Brad Pitt's in Thelma & Louise) that Kelly "doesn't travel light," he's referring to baggage both literal and metaphorical. He might also be talking about Paltrow.

  12. Lindsay Lohan Case Referred to District Attorney

1/6/2011 2:14 PM PST by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned ... Lindsay Lohan's fate is now in the hands of the Riverside County District Attorney, who will decide whether to charge her in the Betty Ford brouhaha with the former staffer.

The Palm Desert Police Department has turned its investigation over to the D.A., who will decide whether to charge Lohan with battery.

The case would be an uphill battle, because alleged victim Dawn Holland says she will not cooperate and does not want Lindsay prosecuted.

No word on when the D.A. will make a decision.

  13. Lainey reported that earlier in the week, Scarlet Johanssen was visiting Sandy at her Austin restaurant. I agree with Lainey that Ryan & Sandy are friends now, and that since Sandy is friends with Scarlet too - likely won't hook up with Ryan......

Or maybe Sandy will hookup with ScarJo? Mmmmmmmm....

  14. Bloody Nose From Drunken Stunt Sent David Arquette to Rehab, Report Claims

    Published January 06, 2011

    FoxNews.com

David Arquette went into rehab soon after partying so hard he busted his nose on the floor while trying to do "the worm" at a trendy LA club.

Before checking into the Betty Ford Clinic over New Year's weekend, the 39-year-old actor fell flat on his face and bloodied his nose while trying the break-dancing move at Trousdale right after Christmas, Page Six has learned.

Arquette showed up in Miami days later with his face black-and-blue, and refused to take off a Lone Ranger-style mask that barely hid his red, swollen and bruised face.

Still nursing his heartache over his split with his wife, "Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox, Arquette returned to LA for New Year's Eve and spent late nights at Hollywood strip club Crazy Girls.

A source told us, "David has not handled the split well. He's been drinking heavily and just went wild. At Trousdale, he got wasted and tried to do the worm, but ended falling on his face and smashing up his nose. There was blood everywhere. And he's been spending a lot of money at strip clubs. He ended up a total mess."

Ebert on Huck Finn Controversy: ‘I Should Have Shut Up’

Roger Ebert caused a stir yesterday when he took on the controversy over censored words in a new edition of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, tweeting, "I'd rather be called a N***** than a Slave." After the commentariat noted that Ebert probably wasn't speaking from his own experience, he conceded today, "You know, this is very true. I'll never be called a N***** or a Slave, so I should have shut the **** up."

That's definitely the word in the sentence you would have used your asterisks on, right?

  16. Lindsay's Battery 'Victim' to Cops: 'Back Off!'

1/5/2011 5:10 PM PST by TMZ Staff

The former Betty Ford employee who filed the battery report against Lindsay Lohan thinks the Palm Desert Police Department is out of line by gunning for LiLo, and thinks cops should "back off."

Dawn Holland, who was fired from Betty Ford after the December 12 altercation, tells TMZ, "Lindsay has got enough to deal with as is ... they just need to back off and let it go."

Holland is suspicious of the Palm Desert cops' motive, saying they seem to be going way out of their way to nail Lindsay.

Holland adds, "Jail is not going to rehabilitate her."

  17. Cops: Lindsay Under the Influence at Betty Ford

1/5/2011 9:22 AM PST by TMZ Staff

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Palm Desert Police Department officials believe Lindsay Lohan was under the influence of drugs or alcohol while at Betty Ford.

As TMZ first reported, the PD believes Lindsay committed violations of her probation -- apart from the alleged December 12 battery. Sources say the cops believe Lindsay was under the influence of drugs or alcohol -- which would be a violation of her probation in the Beverly Hills DUI case. And they believe she violated probation by refusing to submit to a breathalyzer.

The former Betty Ford staffer who filed the battery complaint against Lindsay -- and then said she didn't want Lindsay prosecuted -- has told TMZ she believed Lindsay was under the influence of alcohol on the night of the incident.

It's curious that Palm Desert cops are weighing in on a probation violation outside their jurisdiction.

But Shawn Chapman Holley tells TMZ, "I had numerous conversations with Betty Ford counselors and doctors and it was never suggested by anyone that she ever drank or used drugs."

Holley adds, "Her discharge letter is totally consistent with that."

  18. Does she really thinking moving into the place right next to her ex will make Sam come back to her?!?!?!

P, I'm not entirely buying that they are broken up...at least until I see Ronson packing up and moving out.

The other issue is...isn't Lohan moving next door a person who she was involved with during her addictive "past?" Is this part of the therapy to be back around the same folks?

  19. Palm Desert PD Gunning for Lindsay From the Get-Go

1/4/2011 10:50 AM PST by TMZ Staff

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the Palm Desert Police Department was rabidly trying to get Lindsay Lohan arrested just days after her altercation with a Betty Ford Center staffer.

Sources say a police lieutenant contacted L.A. County Deputy Probation Officer Barbara Parker shortly after Lindsay's December 12 run-in with Dawn Holland, asking her to come to Betty Ford and arrest Lindsay for violating her probation. When Parker told the lieutenant it would be premature to take such drastic action, we're told the lieutenant began arguing with her and it got "extremely heated."

We've learned after the call, the lieutenant's boss called Parker to apologize.

As TMZ reported earlier today, the police are now saying Lindsay violated her probation by committing a battery. What's interesting is that it's for the L.A. County Probation Department and ultimately a Beverly Hills judge -- not the police in Riverside County -- to conclude if Lindsay violated probation.

Sources tell TMZ ... the L.A. County Probation Department will take no action against Lindsay unless she's convicted of battery in Riverside County. So she skates...I bet.

  20. David Arquette Enters Rehab

    Sunday January 02, 2011 08:15 PM EST

After a tough couple of months, David Arquette is seeking help.

The actor, who separated from wife Courteney Cox in October, has entered a rehab program, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The rep had "no further information," however a source says the actor needs help with alcohol and other issues.

"He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable," says the source. "He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out."

During a recent interview on Howard Stern's radio show, Arquette, 39, said that his psychologist, whom he sees once a week, believed he was having a "nervous breakdown," and the actor confessed he'd been "drinking a lot."

"Everybody's worried and concerned about me," he added during the interview. "When I drink, I become a maniac."

A source told PEOPLE recently that Arquette, who is dad to 6-year-daugher Coco with Cox, 46, was having trouble managing the separation.

"He's just not handling this situation well," the source said. "He's really depressed.

TMZ.com first reported that Arquette had entered rehab.

  21. Matt Leblanc: 'Friends Reunion Would Be Sad'

    December 28, 2010

Matt LeBlanc has ruled out a “Friends” TV reunion because he can only imagine such an idea would be sad.

The actor, who played clueless Joey in the hit sitcom, is still in touch with his Friends castmates and he’d love to meet up for a party to reminisce, but he can’t imagine a storyline that would bring the sextet back together. He says, “What would the story be? We all get together and what? Have coffee? It would be almost sad. It’s better to just imagine what those characters are doing now.”

LeBlanc just wants to be left with the memories of his time on the show, which ended in 2004 after a 10-year run. He adds, “Friends was this magical, cool thing, like lightning in a bottle, and I feel superfortunate to have been part of it.”

Actually, I think he's right. It WAS cool in its time. Bringing it back WOULD be pathetic. Good for him.

    I agree.

Besides, I'm sure they will all be supporting their great grandchildren on the residuals. Well, maybe not Aniston. ;)

    Meee-OUCH! :4biggrin:

My point for posting is that I think they all could use some work right about now. Don't be all high and mighty, Matt. Maybe he shouldn't have brought it up in the first place.
