  1. I have given up on:

Prison Break: Wentworth is a hottie but the story lines got SO unbelievable and dumb.

Fringe: Good concept but something about it couldn't keep my attention

90210: Can't stand the main girl (Annie?) - her acting is terrible

Heroes: I got so lost with what was going on, who was good, who was bad, etc.

  2. Also flipping through a really fun book "Fashionable Food: Seven Decades of Food Fads." Three-P salad anyone (peanuts, peas and pickles!)??? I love books like this about American culture and how our preoccupations in areas like food or entertainment reveal larger societal issues.

Have you read "Finding Betty Crocker" by Susan Marks? It tells about how General Mills invented an everyday housewife who gave out cooking tips in the 50's. People thought she was real - there was a radio show and TV shows. It's a pretty interesting book.

  3. Finished up the "The Eyre Affair" really liked it. It was a bit strange, out there and quirky. Some reviews have likened it to a "grown up Harry Potter type book" or "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy type book". If your an English lit buff or "Jane Eyre" fan..you might want to give it a try...although it did take a few chapters for me to get into it.

I've read that and I just finished the next one in the series, "Lost In A Good Book." It took me a while to get into the first one too because I couldn't figure out all of the weird stuff in her world, but once you get into it, it's not bad. The second one is a lot like the first.

  4. I've read through E in the Sue Grafton series and I'm still kind of iffy on whether or not I like them. I keep hoping with each book that she doesn't have the same 4 pages with the details on Kinsey's background and how she lives in the apartment with the baker landlord. We know that by now! I just pick them up when there's nothing else at the library.I read My Sister's Keeper this summer and it is very good. After reading that, I picked up Perfect Match by Picoult and liked it too. I really like her writing style.I just started Angels & Demons on Monday, and so far I like it.

  5. I like the show too. My husband thinks she's stupid, but she cracks me up!She talks about how she loves to hang out with gay guys ~ did you guys notice who was at her game night with all of the gays? Lance Bass! Isn't he rumored to be gay?

  6. I was surprised that Jack is married..but did he Actually say "I do" hmmmmmm So I guess no romance with Kate if he's married????

I'm wondering if maybe his wife died. He's never mentioned being married, which is strange, and he seemed really intent on saving Boone. Maybe something happened to her and he couldn't save her that time.Once Boone fell off the cliff, I figured he would die, but he was my favorite eye-candy! I got a little misty eyed during the scene where everyone is looking at the baby and Jack has to go talk to Shannon. :( Does anyone else always call Jack "Charlie" 'cause that's who Fox was on Party of Five? I always confuse people when we are talking about the show!

  7. I missed part of the dialogue from last night. Help. Why were Locke and his father having surgery? What did Locke's mother tell him after the surgery? Why didn't his father want to see him at the end? Did they ever say what happened to cause Locke's paralysis? Thanks:)

They never explained Locke's paralysis. His mom told him that the father has always known where Locke was. She needed money so he (the father) paid her to go up to Locke. He wanted Locke to "find" him through the private eye and said that the kidney donation needed to seem like something that Locke thought to do for his newly found father. The dad basically just used him to get his kidney then abandoned him again.

  8. I had to go back and watch the episode (gotta love Tivo!) and Hurley was on the TV in the background. It showed him waving to the camera and getting into the drivers seat of a car.I couldn't figure out why Jin left Sun either. I was sure after the clip where his father told him to start over, that he would. Cydonia - the camera seemed extra shaky to me too. It was very annoying!
