    Ashlee Simpson Joining Melrose Place Spinoff

    CW's buzzed-about Melrose Place spinoff has a new tenant: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

     

    According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will play a lead character named Violet, "a bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl and recent L.A. transplant who has come to town with a secret."

     

    The trade reports that her character resembles the blond, budding-Southern-belle starlet Sandy Harling, played by Amy Locane on the original Fox series.

     

    This isn't the Simpson-Wentz's first stab at acting: She stars on the March 18 episode of CBS' CSI:NY and regularly appeared on WB soap 7th Heaven.

     

    Meanwhile, original Melrose Place star Courtney Thorne-Smith -- who played recovering alcoholic Alison Parker -- says she hasn't been asked to be on the show.

     

    "The show is for the next generation," she tells Usmagazine.com. "They don't want us old fogies."

     

    Her tips for the Simpson-Wentz and the new cast?

     

    "Just enjoy it!" she tells Us. "I just wish I'd had more perspective because I could've relaxed more. We had a great time. It was so intense and so fast. I didn't have the perspective to really enjoy what was happening."

     

    "I ran into [Melrose Place alum] Marcia Cross in the park the other day with her kids who are so cute," she added. "What a time warp! It was 15 year ago, and here we are with our babies in the park!"

     

     

    I saw her on CSI NY. She played a maid who came upon a dead body. Next to the dead body was a bag of drugs. So, instead of calling the cops, she stole the drugs and tried to sell them.

    Cyrus Wrote Song To Punish Jonas

     

    MILEY CYRUS wrote her recent hit 7 THINGS about ex-boyfriend NICK JONAS - to punish him for breaking her heart.

     

    The Hannah Montana star goes through the song listing seven things she hates about an ex-lover.

     

    The track was long rumoured to be a musing on Cyrus' relationship with Jonas, but the singer/actress has always denied writing it about the teen star.

     

    But in her upcoming memoir, Miley Cyrus: Miles To Go, the 16-year-old finally admits the internet gossips were right about the subject of the song.

     

    She writes, "(I wrote it to) punish him, to get him back for hurting me (but the song is) about forgiving, not forgetting. It’s hard to imagine that our love is a story with an end. But you know, at least I’m getting some really good songs out of it.

     

    "(The day we broke up was) the hardest day ever. Deep down I know we weren’t being our best selves. And that was what I wanted - and thought I deserved - in a relationship."

     

    Cyrus is now dating model Justin Gaston.

    The Daily Mail featured these truly stupid $3,600 shoes that are quickly becoming all the rage with celebrities. The shoes were designed by Briton Antonio Berardi and Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman and Posh have already picked up a pair.

     

    Briton Berardi said this about the shoes, "When you walk, it is almost on tiptoe. You look really dainty." No, you look like an idiot.

     

    Fishsticks, Uma and Posh should save themselves the embarrassment of being photographed falling on their heads and give me the $3,600 instead. In exchange I will gladly slap the shit out of them in private. Same effect without the public shame! It's a win-win.

    Emma Watson to Star in Period Drama

     

    (FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) — Emma Watson, best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, is attached to star in the period drama Napoleon and Betsy, as a noblewoman trapped on a British isle who falls in love with a man in exile. Scarlett Johansson, who had previously been attached to the role but dropped out because the character was skewing younger, remains on board as a producer. Watson hopes to shoot the movie this fall, before filming on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince begins in 2009. (Hollywood Reporter)

    Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston raised eyebrows with their behavior at L.A. Fashion Week. According to onlookers, the young couple’s “sexual behavior” towards one another shocked the crew backstage.

     

    An eyewitness alleges that Cyrus, 15, and Gaston, 21, “were all over each other.”

     

    The ‘Hannah Montana’ star and her mother watched Gaston walk the runway. As he passed Cyrus, sources say he winked and blew her a kiss. Cyrus allegedly returned his loving gestures by seductively licking her lips.

     

    Another source claims that Cyrus told friends that “she was probably staying at Justin’s tonight and that they were going to skip the after-party and have a party of their own.”

     

    Is she under the delusion she looks sexy doing that? Because NO. Not to mention the fact that she's still only 15 years old.
