Kath 153 Report post Posted June 27, 2010 Zac Goldsmith ups the ante as his poker girl moves in By Katie Nicholl Last updated at 11:29 PM on 26th June 2010 Zac Goldsmith is living with Alice Rothschild, the heiress who is believed to be the real reason behind the breakdown of his 11-year marriage. The news comes just weeks after Zac and his former wife Sheherazade, who have three children – Uma, ten, Thyra, eight, and James, seven – were granted a ‘quickie divorce’. Sheherazade, 36, cited adultery as the reason for the split. Zac, newly elected Tory MP for Richmond, has been keeping his love life quiet but I can reveal that the handsome 35-year-old is now sharing his Richmond home with his sister-in-law – Zac’s brother Ben is married to Alice’s sister Kate. There was speculation about the nature of their friendship when The Mail on Sunday discovered Zac was secretly visiting Alice, 25, for poker sessions at her house two years ago while he was still married. At the time both said the relationship was platonic. ‘Zac and Alice are very much an item,’ says a family friend. ‘Ever since his relationship with Sheherazade broke down, Zac has been living in a flat in the grounds of his mother’s West London home in Richmond. ‘It’s so private no one has cottoned on to the fact that Alice is there all the time. She has a house in West London, but more often than not she’s with Zac. They have been very covert and make sure they aren’t seen together.’ Reports that surfaced this month suggesting the relationship was on the rocks after they attended a charity dinner, but did not sit together, have also been dismissed. ‘They were in Spain together last year and plan to return this summer for a holiday,’ I’m told. ‘At some point Zac knows he is going to have to go public with Alice.’ When he does it will no doubt be painful for his estranged wife. But another friend insisted: ‘It won’t be a surprise for her.
