The game of royal residence musical chairs continues, as The Independent reports that King Charles is set to offer the Sussexes an apartment at Buckingham Palace—a suite of rooms that, in a weird coincidence, once belonged to Andrew. This will allow Harry, Meghan, and their two children Archie and Lilibet to have a home base in the U.K. where they can stay when they visit—which is increasingly rare and likely to remain so as tensions continue between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family. The outlet reports that Charles sees the Buckingham Palace apartment offer as an “olive branch.”

Didn’t they just spend millions of their own money to cover the rehab they did on that place? That’s cold. I can see telling them they don’t need it since they live overseas, but I hope if they did put out  money that they get it back. 

I finally saw it. Unbelievably formulaic, but can’t help it, I enjoyed it. Husband is voting for it in our family oscar contest 😂 It sucks that Tom turned out to be so creepy. The Val Kilmer stuff was very touching.

I kind of hope she’s just like, nope. This is what it actually looks like when most women have a kid. But then again… maybe she is?

She really does.i had the same reaction just skimming through this thread to get to the bottom. I thought it was Lisa Marie. I’m honestly not clear on the biological parentage of any of them. I don’t know if it was ever made clear. Not that it matters, but we are chitchatters afterall!

How/do we think the fashion rules have changed now that the queen has died. Were pantsuits allowed before (I legit just don’t remember seeing any, but I just don’t pay attention)? Will they be able to can the pantyhose and nude polish? Will they change it up or anything?

My husband and I watched the first episode of Interview and I just didn’t like it enough to come back. Maybe if there was nothing else to do, but I have options.

I think she had a known drug problem, was depressed, and had a family history of early death from heart disease. I also think she had a past with the very shady and secretive Scientology and we live in a conspiracy theory society. So if I were a gossip columnist with wobbly sources, this would be an easy blind to manufacture and fill space under the protection of “just asking questions” cover. That’s not to say it COULDN’T be true, just that it’s a freebie for blind items writers.

Same. I feel he is well intentioned, and I think you can both try to help yourself and simultaneously help others. Is he horribly naive and clueless, yes. But it seems like he means as well as he can and that he’s honestly trying to know better/do better. Which is more that I can say for others in that family. And I KNOW it’s one sided, but boy does his feeling for Camilla line up with what I want to feel about her.

Teenager and I have watched the Netflix show while she was home on break. She wanted to read the book too. I used one of my audible credits for myself, but she wanted the print version to take back to school and share with her roommates. I ordered it online for in-store pickup and we went to my small suburban DC store today. The lady at the counter said they had 65 preorders and she said basically everyone who came to check out today either bought a copy or was picking up a hold. We saw a bunch of people picking them up from the in store display. It was definitely the hot commodity in my local shop.

I only just started watching yesterday. I was waiting for my daughter to get back from school. I basically agree with what witchkitten said. All of the bad stuff can be true, but they can also be exasperating. At least in his case, I feel like because of his insulation, it is nearly impossible for him to be really self aware this early in the “freedom” but I give him credit for trying so hard. And I think she would be more like able if she were a little more honest,  it I think some of that comes from the intense defensiveness. She’s obviously a very smart and ambitious (in a positive way) woman who, in the grand scheme of things, wants a nice life that makes things better for others when possible.
 

I honestly wish them nothing but the best. I will say that a lot of the constant nagging doubt I have of them (and i have a lot) gets lessened every time I read something like the Jeremy Clarkson article in the Sun. That was absolutely vile. What on earth has she done that is remotely worse than a serial killer who murdered her own stepdaughter. And the violent misogyny just so out in the open in a national publication by a public figure who was just with Camila. Makes me really think about how much damage this current reign will do to the royals overall. Goodwill for that very tiny old woman really held off a LOT of shit.

That’s just horrible. The video was hard to watch. What a scary thing to have to face. 

I occasionally would catch some of Days in the afternoons during lunch until it went to streaming this fall. He was working pretty recently but looked quite I’ll and was pretty much always seated in scenes.

On another note, not dead, but at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony yesterday Duran Duran was inducted and they announced that their original guitarist, Andy Taylor, has terminal cancer (ETA I just read the actual letter and it says Stage 4, not terminal, but it’s still not curable and I would imagine the very recent change in his ability to travel isn’t a good sign) and was unable to travel to the ceremony. 

So I guess they got the sneaky quiet divorce and it’s already finalized? 

Got it. But rereading the blind, it seems like there are actually two people in it, right? The recent song release by a “singer” and then the new one that’s not that bad, but still bad. So Rihanna is the second one. Who is the first? 

Did I miss something happening to her that would make a change in her voice? Illness or something? I kind of don’t get where the BI is coming from.

Nothing wrong with getting busy but for a woman who has had some poor choices of spontaneous “true love” this feels like maybe a little rushed. Especially since there was a blind about a woman desperate to keep her new husband who was planning a house and insta baby to make sure he would stay that we all thought was her. And this is not that husband. I know media coverage is wicked so I often just hope, especially now that I’m mom to young adults, that these people have good parents and friends and mental health practitioners so these situations aren’t as bad as they seem on paper.
