  1. Robin Williams: ‘I Feel Like a Cow’

ROBIN Williams feels like a cow following his lifesaving heart surgery.

The Old Dogs star went under the knife a year ago to replace a failing aortic valve. Surgeons used a valve from a cow’s heart to fix the problem and now Robin believes he has some unusual bovine traits.

“I have a cow heart and the best thing about being part cow is that I can crap when I walk now,” says the actor.

“But I find it hard to eat beef. It’s like I’m one of them!”

Williams, 58, recently revealed how his satellite navigation system keeps trying to send him over the side of a bridge.

“The other day I was driving and half way across the Golden Gate Bridge this thing told me to turn right!” Williams said. “Other times it will tell me to turn now when I can see there is nothing to turn into other than a wall. I hate that thing.”

  2. Lonely Child Hilary Swank

Hilary Swank's friends were banned from playing with her at school. The Oscar-winning actress - who grew up in a trailer park in Bellingham, Washington - was shunned by her classmates because their parents didn't want them socialising with someone from a poor background.

She said: "I grew up feeling like an outsider because we had no money, so I understood 'classism' at a young age. A lot of parents didn't want their kids playing with me, even though the kids didn't care."

The 35-year-old star was forced to spend her spare time reading and watching movies, where the characters became the closest thing she had to friends.

She explained: "Because I experienced that, my friends became characters in books or movies. That's what I could relate to. The first three movies I remember watching - 'The Elephant Man', 'The Miracle Worker' and 'The Wizard of Oz' - were all about outsiders facing adversity."

However, Hilary feels as though her film career - which has seen her win two Best Actress Academy Wards - has helped her finally fit in.

She explained to Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: "The fact that people I admire so much have embraced me with the awards means that I don't feel like such an outsider any more. I've grown up and experienced a lot in life, and have travelled and seen the world. What I recognised was that I wasn't alone and everyone has that feeling. But my job brings me so much joy, I'm always on the film set thinking 'How did I get so lucky?' I don't ever want to take it for granted."

  3. Ringwald Was 'Saved' From Hollywood

Former child star MOLLY RINGWALD is convinced her decision to develop "interests outside Hollywood" saved her life because it stopped her falling into drug addiction.

Ringwald landed her first TV role at the age of 11 in sitcom Diff'rent Strokes and went on to find fame in John Hughes' 1984 movie Sixteen Candles, which propelled her into the spotlight.

She became known as one of the 'Brat Pack' in the 1980s after appearing in a string of teen dramas, but unlike many of her co-stars, Ringwald avoided the temptations of the party circuit and never suffered from drug or alcohol addiction.

The actress, now a 42-year-old mother of three, insists she was too young to follow her older actor friends into bars as a teenager and is adamant her decision to focus on her hobbies instead "saved her life".

She tells Britain's Grazia magazine, "Unlike most of the others (members of the 'Brat Pack'), I was the same age as my characters. So when they were out carousing, I couldn't get into a bar.

"I was encouraged to develop interests outside Hollywood and I think it saved my life. I knew that if I got involved with drugs it would never stop. I had self-preservation."

And Ringwald admits she feels sorry for young stars in Hollywood today - because they seem unable to avoid the temptations of the industry.

She adds, "I feel badly for teenage stars these days. They seem to get burned out so quickly."

  4. Tracy Morgan Quit Booze After Chat With Son

Tracy Morgan promised himself he'd never drink alcohol again after his son shamed him with questions about his DUI arrest three years ago.

The Cop Out star had to wear an ankle bracelet that monitored his alcohol intake after he was found guilty of drink driving, and his disappointed son took time to tell his dad how he felt.

The tough chat made the 30 Rock regular determined to quit booze for good.

He recalls, "That was rock bottom... My oldest son is looking at me (and he said), 'What are you doing? What if I started drinking and driving, would that be cool?'

"That was the last time, that was it... I don't even think about it. If I go to a club or to a restaurant, I don't focus on what I don't want... I want a sosa (soda) water... I focus on what I want." The actor is back on the big screen later this month with his new movie Cop Out, which sees him team up with Bruce Willis.

Directed by Kevin Smith the movie follows a veteran NYPD cop whose rare baseball card is stolen. Since it's his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, he recruits his partner to track down the thief, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster.

Hugh Hefner is considering getting married. The 83-year-old Playboy founder admits he is happier than ever with 23-year-old girlfriend Crystal Harris and hasn't ruled out making their union official.

When asked about whether he would consider marriage, he told E! Online: "It's certainly possible. I certainly care enough for her. I certainly love her enough. We'll see.

"All I want is for the relationship to be as happy as it is. I'm having more fun than I did when I was 20."

It seems as if the media mogul - who has been married three times - has had change of heart as he previously vowed never to tie the knot again.

He said recently: "I haven't had a lot of luck with marriage. I don't have a good track record and I don't want to screw this one up."

"They've been hanging out with a lot of the other Playmates and they see these girls traveling across the country to do promotion. They would like to be doing that, too."

  10. Catherine Zeta-Jones Writes To Judge

Catherine-Zeta Jones and Kirk Douglas have written to a judge to ask for Cameron Douglas to be given a lesser sentence. The Hollywood veteran, who is Cameron's grandfather, and his actress daughter-in-law - who is married to Cameron's father Michael Douglas - have sent a heartfelt letter to Judge Richard Berman defending his character and asking the judge to be lenient when he hands down his punishment to the 31 year old for drug possession and dealing.

The 93-year-old actor wrote: "I remember when he played a part in the movie 'It Runs in the Family' with me and Michael in 2003. He was a natural. We were so proud.

"Of course, as his grandfather - by the way he calls me Pappy (never grandpa) - I am prejudiced. I was shocked when he got in such a mess... I am convinced that Cameron could be a fine actor and a person that cares for others. I hope I can see that happen before I die. I love Cameron."

Cameron is facing a possible 10 years in jail after pleading guilty in January to possession and dealing methamphetamine and cocaine from a Manhattan hotel last July.

The 'Chicago' actress personally urged the judge to help rehabilitate him rather than punish him for his actions.

Her testimonial wrote: "My stepson is a caring, considerate, worthy human being, but nevertheless, the disease that for years he has tried to combat, did take over again.

"What is wrong is wrong, but may all these positive attributes prevail, so that a facility that he is positioned in will help rehabilitate him."

The letter also included a note from Cameron's mother Diandra - who divorced Michael in 2000 - in which she spoke about her son's recent "enthusiastic" change in demeanour.

She added: "Cameron's arrest has brought all of us life lessons, most of all Cameron. As painful as it is for a mother to have to watch her son go through an ordeal such as this one... for the first time in my life I see my son enthusiastic about his life."

Cameron is currently being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City, ahead of his sentencing on April 27.

The letter also contained personal messages from other family members.

“I do tend to gesticulate a lot when I talk but you just can’t do that when you’re shooting in 3-D because every movement is magnified,” explains Mila. “It took a lot of effort for me to keep still.

"It's funny. The longer I have been in the business, the more I realised how important it is to have other things in my life. She told more! magazine: "For me, I wrote a lot of my songs in my hot little apartment and I didn't think much of them - but then I started playing them in front of people and they were singing the songs back to me louder than I was singing them. So yes, I would say it's all going pretty well."

  25. Insecure Katy Perry

Katy Perry has "moments of insecurity".

The 'I Kissed a Girl' singer - who is engaged to British comic Russell Brand - admits she is often shy and unsure of herself even though she has a huge pop career and famous fiance.

She explained: "Even the most confident people still have their moments of insecurity. And even though I may come across as loud and bubbly and brimming with confidence, I can be a shy girl too."

However, the 25-year-old pop beauty - who is known for her skimpy outfits and energetic stage routines - fights through her insecurities for her fans.

She told more! magazine: "For me, I wrote a lot of my songs in my hot little apartment and I didn't think much of them - but then I started playing them in front of people and they were singing the songs back to me louder than I was singing them. It gives you goosebumps on your arms. It might sound cheesy, but I could swear that every artist would say that's the most validating thing. Everything I do, I know it is for the fans and they are the reason why I exist."
