There’s been a sense Fergie’s been getting lined up to take the fall by certain members of the press over the last few days; I wouldn’t go out of my way for him. i also doubt that him stepping back will leave a gaping void, but Charles might be pleased given he wants to trim the monarchy when he’s king - this is his chance to show losing minor members doesn’t have an impact.

I think the idea that Andrew just can’t fathom that being royal wont get him out of this isn’t too far off the mark. His entire life is one of unearned privilege; you see it in the way he complains about his kids not being funded by the crown! i could well see that being accountable for his actions (in the way his older brother as future king has to be, at least nominally, due to the scrutiny on him) isn’t something he’ll ever have had to do.

perhaps Prince Philip threatened to take people out for a drive and that was enough to keep them in line until now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47186875

Yeah I read that too. I think the main thing is that Doria is included. I like that Harry and Meghan pointed out they aren’t the first to spend Christmas away from the Queen - William and Kate get the same crap from the press when they’ve chosen to go to her family. I like that they are including their wives‘ families, as it never seemed right to me that before this, marrying into the royals seemed to mean never spending your holiday with your parents again. mind you I’d solve that problem by abolishing the monarchy totally so they’d probably prefer I kept quiet. ?

It’s just been announced that Andrew has recorded an interview with the BBC on the Epstein situation in which no questions were vetted...so this will be interesting! I assume he was still allowed to prep for them in advance. (Newsnight is the BBCs flagship news programme and is probably the flagship for the U.K. as a result.)

As long as the British taxpayers aren’t funding it, I would not be pleased ?

Nah that’s just going from having to stand next to Theresa may to having to go stand next to BoJo.

Who knew you were out with me and my friends last night? You’re a sound cunt right enough. ?

It is, but I wouldn’t say the most common usage is in the way Charles allegedly used it. It’s more used like a description, ie, “you’re a cunt”, which could be an affectionate statement or not depending on the context!

I only know because my employer has a location in Hereford and I've visited a couple of times, so I knew roughly where it was...but I then had to google the other!

Herefordshire is the county near the border, Hertfordshire is not just one letter difference!

I didn’t see but I think one of the mothers of the page boys/bridesmaids was in that colour - perhaps that was Jessica Mulroney?

He really has his brother and sister is law to thank for that, three kids have taken the pressure right off him!

I cant work out if Meghans earrings pair to the pendant her mother is wearing. Edit: after many zooms, I dont believe they do. Also apparently Harry picked flowers for the bouquet!

I am enjoying a royal wedding where it’s clear the contents are what the couple want rather than being bound by traditions. William and Kate never had this freedom, so there shouldn’t be comparisons.

The veil has the flora of all of the commonwealth countries incorporated - Meghan knows exactly what she’s doing. And the tiara is queen mary’s, on loan from the Queen.

Queen has gone lime green with purple, she doesn’t mess about! Meghan’s mother looks good and I like Camilla’s hat.

Beatrice and Eugenie are both disappointing - although the shapelessness of Eugenie’s dress makes you wonder in light of the pregnancy rumours. It looks too big for her.
