Good for her for making a choice based on where her son thrives most......

    Oprah Winfrey

    1) I think it's wrong (but everyone does it...) to make inflammatory remarks about Oprah to publicize your own [insert whatever you want attention on] 2) I agree with Rosie that the relationship OPrah & Gail have does seem like a couple (gay OR straight) that's been together forever 3) Why does it bother Oprah so much? Do you think it's because of the "gay" angle, or because Rosie is publicizing her own talk show at Oprah's expense? See - I think that's the more heinous crime in OPes' eyes......

    Kate Moss

Plenty of people have oodles of money and manage to live out of the limelight -their money allows them to live out of the limelight. Kate is full of shit as she seeks out the attention..... I admit I find it adorable that Lila wants to be a chef!

    TAR - Amazing Race

She was SOOOO anoying! She did NOT give southern blondes a good name last night - lived up to many stereotypes, unfortunately. I have major fears of heights - those bungee jumping challenges would be tough, but I wouldn't join the race saying "I won't do it" - if I ever were on TAR, I'D DO IT. If I were him, I might have actually pushed her down the slide. But I'm glad he didn't - he's more mature than I am, apparently ;-)

    What year is it???

What if that's not an option? Or too expensive? It's the point that people should do the jobs they're hired to do.....

    What year is it???

Pharmacists now have moral clauses where they can refuse to dispense birth control, among other items. What happens if I live in a town with one pharmacy, have no transportation to another town (I live in the rural south - this isn't an exaggeration for many people) and the pharmacist in my town refuses to dispense my prescription? I don't have other options. But apparently I'm SOL. And this thread should be moved to the Open forum, not celeb gossip, so I'll send Princess a message.....

    TAR - Amazing Race

I was shocked by how nice he was about her and their life in his post-elimination speech - so once again I assume it was editing in the first couple episodes to make him look like more of a jerk than he really is?

    The Origin of Suri

Yeah, my opinion on this has changed repeatedly for 3-4 years. That's a lot of mental energy I've devoted, and I recognize how sad that is I waver on if she actually was pregnant. If she was - she totally gave birth months earlier than April.

    Miley Cyrus

She didn't know she was supposed to tip unless she was eating inside? What the hell kind of made up logic is that? The kid wasn't raised well - you learn about tipping from your parents (seriously - I had to teach my husband all about it, it just wasn't something his parents taught him - and they still stiff wait staff when we go out so we try to pay....) As for Walmart clothing - no, I don't wear Miley Cyrus stuff, but their Norma Kamali knits are great, and I have some really nice organic cotton t-shirts from there too. Gak!

    The Origin of Suri

I voted for Hartnett & Holmes, but I have to add (in that annoying way I have) that biological parentage doesn't mean that Tom Cruise isn't her father - for all his faults (and there are many) I do believe he is involved in the daily lives of his kids - so he's their dad, regardless of whose sperm was involved in their conception.

    Russell Brand

Yes, I think I have to agree. I have NO idea why I find him sexy, but I do. He would be what Lainey calls my ShameFuck (Ed Westwick is hers....)

    Biggest Loser - Families

I was watching something on DVR while cooking and the show ended, hubby just flipped to regular tv without seeing what was on - was Biggest Loser and someone was crying and I'm now forbidden from watching tv shows where people cry all the time (I don't normally watch it but it was a weigh-in and I wanted to see what the average weight they were losing was....)

TV shows that you USED to watch

I don't think there are any shows I've stopped watching this season. I'm picky in the beginning of the season - we "audition" new shows to see which we want to keep on the DVR schedule :4biggrin: But I can't think of any that have dropped off. I dropped Greys Anatomy & Private Practice last year - I was recording and never wanted to watch them, so that told me something.....

    Diva Behavior Reports

Really? I think he only deserved to be fired if his restaurant has a specific privacy policy in place. Was it smart? No, but I don't think it's a firing offense unless he broke an explicit rule. He got stiffed and he bitched about it. It's not slanderous or libelous.....

    TAR - Amazing Race

Montana. But, you know, close ;-) I did like how he said they don't have much sushi in Montana, but dad sure managed to scarf down his wasabi bomb just fine. And the son did great herding the geese!

    TAR - Amazing Race

My husband and I made predictions for the winners of the show - he said the Harlem Globetrotters and I said Cheyne & Meghan. As usual, there are annoying couples and couples we like. We "play along" at home - I am always the one to do the food challenges because I can eat anything. So I think the wasabi bomb would have been fine - I like wasabi (though I don't generally use that much) I think the problem was most people ate too slowly and the heat caught up to them and made them ill - they need to shove it down faster, swallow without chewing much. That's my "professional" opinion :-) We're (hopefully) going to Vietnam next year for our 10th anniversary - I have LONG been looking forward to eating my way through the country!!!

    Emma Watson

That makes so much more sense. Hilton is an idiot

    Antonio Banderas & Melanie Griffith

I don't know at all, I'm just guessing - she was maybe trying to deal with this with her doctors (the use of the pain meds for her surgeries) and presumably she had been going to meetings of some sort (AA, NA) or seeing a therapist/counselor and maybe it wasn't enough....

    Antonio Banderas & Melanie Griffith

Maybe she was doing outpatient work?

    Heidi Klum

Depends on the family relationship I guess. For a lot of women, having "grandma" on hand every day would lead to a lot of tension - in which case, having a nanny with no family history could be better for family harmony. I see no problem with having assistance in raising your kids - grandparents, nanny, daycare, etc - as long as the parents are involved as well, why not have help if you can afford it?

    Eric Dane & Rebecca Gayheart

She looks pulled pretty tightly and sort of seasick.....

    Sci Fi TV

OK, am loving Torchwood Children of Earth. I haven't finished it yet though - have watched one and two. Was searching for naked JOhn Barrowman screen captures (episode 2!!) and found a great Youtube video from DVD extras - John singing Anything Goes - I love that song & musical, and also John Barrowman. So Youtube just sucked me in for a good 45 minutes searching for other videos of him singing :4biggrin:

    What are you reading?

I just finished Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. I really enjoyed it - it was a very quick read, and I found myself wishing it had been an epic. The style of storytelling was interesting - broad strokes (skipping over lots of time) mixed in with minute details. Sort of a hodgepodge. But I liked it!

    Sci Fi TV

I guess it's like the Twilight crap - marketed at a different demographic...(I'm speaking in generalities here - but I think most of us posting are a little older than teens?) We actually want a decent plot, not just nifty special effects? Although I freely admit I like some of the cheesy - I prefer my scifi with humor, not drama, and that tends to be more on the cheesy side....
