Long rumored, but apparently in his new memoir, Boris Johnson talks about QEII's bone cancer in her last few years...

As a long time Days of Our Lives fan (I only stopped watching in 2022 when they moved to streaming only 🤑) Drake Hogestyn died, age 70 😞
-
Looks like everyone enjoyed the holiday season - HOW MANY pregnancies have been announced this week? Are we up to 5?
-
Shannen Doherty, age 53 😪 It's been a rough summer so far.

Dr. Ruth has died, age 96. She was a role model & icon to me. (my nickname in high school was Dr Ruth 😉

Refusing to tip staff, esp when an invited guest and it's expected, is so horribly tacky. Ick. I was (am?) prepared to be supportive of the way Victoria has built her career - she works her ass off. Literally (sorry 😉) But man, you have to tip service industry workers.

As someone who get season tix to the touring Broadway shows at the local(ish) performing arts center, I am here to say that TOO MANY things are given the musical treatment these days, and 90% of them aren't worth it. I have NO INTEREST in seeing Richard Simmons and/or his story on stage.

I think they should just long term date and spend whatever family time together and work time apart. He clearly needs space to do his work, and she loves/needs to be the center of attention. I think they love each other but are fundamentally ill matched to spend all their time together. But that doesn't mean they couldn't have a long term wonderful relationship that might look different from others. I just don't think JLo especially is willing to do something like that, that might mean something like (a favorite line from a song) "live close by, and visit often".

Meh. Funeral plans for monarchs are CONSTANTLY updated. Just like news agencies keep obits of famous people updated too.

Wait- is the casting couch supposed to be Wintour as well as the first one, the magazine? I have a hard time reconciling those details with the way Anna works...

I'm not sure I could make it through. Last year, I read Jennette McCurdy's I'm Glad My Mom Died and wow, barely made it through that (which is both more broad AND more narrow than the Quiet on the Set documentary, of course, though linked). I've also heard it's extremely well done, so I'll probably try sometime.

Kate releases a video (FINALLY) announcing she has cancer: I wish her all the best for a quick recovery. But oh my how KP has screwed this up over the past few weeks.
-
Yep, at this point (65 days since she was seen?) there is SOMETHING going on - either she refuses or she absolutely cannot be seen. I don't know what I believe right now. But I don't believe she had a normal surgery with recovery - I think there's a mental health component, a legal component (did Will hurt her? Or is she negotiating her divorce?) etc....
-
Fuck cancer. But also, imagine Kris Kristofferson waiting to spit on his grave. (if you don't know, look up what Kristofferson had to say about good ole Toby - never fails to make me laugh). And, well, I'm a Chicks fan, so I'm not losing sleep tonight.

The gossip on twitter (and celeb*tchy) is getting unhinged. Intimate partner violence, coma, possibly died yesterday at Sandringham (many british media wore black and had been crying - but not about Charles/cancer, about Kate dying?) Harry coming to UK not about Charles/cancer but about being regent for George as William won't take throne if/when Charles dies. I mean, I love to read a good conspiracy theory too, but yikes.

Lots on celeb*tchy seem to think bowel resection

And today, Piers Morgan announced (on air?) that it was Charles AND Kate....

I think Travolta and Kelly had a MUCH better relationship than Will & Jada, even if John is gay or bi. They seemed to LOVE each other, even if I didn't see them as having a great sex life. Not everyone needs or wants that, who knows. I'm feeling more ok about the Travolta marriage. But then, I always thought they loved each other. I have never had the same loving feeling about Jada & Will. I think their relationship has always been more transactional.

Her memoir out soon, on Today show, admitting they "divorced' all but legally in 2016.
-
Yeah, that one made me sad. Also saw that Costner's (awful, terrible, no good asshole) divorce was settled. I've been on vacation so catching up on all the gossip....I was in England so all I heard about was fucking Russell Brand. Or should I say, "assaulting" Russell Brand.....

Charlie Robison has died, age 59, cardiac arrest and other issues 😞 https://countrynow.com/charlie-robison-renowned-texas-country-artist-dies-at-age-59/ As his sister recommends, gonna intersperse some of Charlie's music with my ongoing Jimmy Buffett In Memoriam playlist.....

My corrupting uncle introduced me to Jimmy Buffett music in 1985, took me to my first Buffett concert in 1988. His death (4 year battle with Merkel cell carcinoma, rare skin cancer) hit me hard. I had a LOT of family and friends text me over the weekend to see how I was doing, which is funny (I introduced Buffett's music to all my friends, took so many people to their first concerts) Listened to a lot of Buffett music this weekend, happy I got to enjoy the music for so long. 💗💔

Serena had #2! And apparently so did Rihanna. https://apnews.com/article/serena-williams-baby

You're clearly not GenX 😉 We're all in our feels about Sinead. (with a performance name like "Sinead O'Connor, you didn't know she was from Ireland??? Never heard her speak, didn't see her on SNL in 1992? OK....)

Ok, to be fair, there are more remembrances of the queen as I read the magazine. But still 😁😒
