I'm about to go on vacation (TOMORROW) and am in the second week of reading The Path Between the Seas by David McCullough--history of the Panama Canal (guess where we're going on vacation ) I just finally finished the French episode and have started the Americans. Page 240 of a 600 page book. I'm a very fast reader but this is taking some time! I have lots of other books packed for vacation to read as soon as I finish this.

I think at least a little bit is the facial expression she's making at the moment that photo was taken--looks like she's grimacing or scrunching her face up, creating more lines than are there naturally in repose.

Lainey (who screwed up and said it was Chace Crawford....But then said Chuck Bass....) says they just were out together & nothing happened. I'm sort of inclined to believe that --maybe some flirting, having fun at a concert or a bar or whatever. Not a relationship.....

I LOVE those W shots! I think Hathaway can get away with some outrageous editorial styling! Of course, she can look boring as crap on occasion, but I think she's has a very interesting look--not at all the standard beauty queen--that allows her to pull off the interesting & exotic on occasion.

I think that Suri is much cuter now than she was in her "first" year. I think Violet Affleck was much cuter in her first year and a half than she is now. I think Shiloh is cuter now than she was at birth. So all celebrity babies vary over time in my opinion

I absolutely agree with that. But ultimately, I find her attention grabbing ploys lots more interesting than many other actresses, so I'm ok with it

Why does the media always pit the women against each other though? Why is it Team Angelina or Team Aniston? Why do we vilify Sienna and praise Rosetta? Maybe Rosetta is a total bitch and that's why Getty wants a divorce. I have NO idea (I rather doubt Rosetta is that much of a bitch, actually, if she's as popular as it seems among a certain Hollywood crowd, but I'm trying to make a point and I'm having a hard time gathering my arguments ) If Balthazar and Sienna and THEIR MOTHERS were all together on that boat, who am I to say that what she did was wrong? Sure, discretion would have been nice. But I don't really expect that out of actors & actresses And no, not too many rosebushes in our yard. Some, yes, but I don't prune those without clothing on. Mostly--I started because my tomato plants are messy (I always forget to pinch back) and overgrown and whenever I'd walk by or try to weed or pick tomatoes, I'd get green from the leaves everywhere. Much easier to just garden naked, then shower

Which is exactly why I don't have a problem with it. If she was comfortable doing it around her parents, why would I care? [speaking as someone who gardens naked on a regular basis--we live in the middle of nowhere and I don't have any neighbors to shock ] Some people (mostly americans) have the oddest set of "morals" I've ever encountered.....Blood & guts & explicit violence = just fine. But normal bodies without clothing? Oh my god, it'll ruin the children Vilify that female body!!!

No, I don't have a problem with her dating Getty OR being topless. I don't think being a single woman in her 20s and sleeping with a few famous guys makes her a slut. I don't like that word because there's such a HUGE double standard in accepted sexuality between men & women As for Sienna's acting, I'm a fan because I loved her in Keen Eddie. Like Jennifer Aniston, send her back to television (I rather enjoyed Casanova as well.....It's ok that I have no taste in movies, right?)

Sorry, no, Babble series is Meg Cabot chick-lit cutesy quick read stuff. Karen Essex (Stealing Athena) was historical fiction and really good, and there are other books she has written. There is a thread in this forum on Historical books, if you want to see what we recommended there. We might have veered off to historical romance But I love historical fiction (though I do tend to read mostly romance or mystery, there are other authors I really enjoy in the genre! I was a history major as an undergrad )

Just finished Stealing Athena by Karen Essex--overlapping history (fictional) of Mary Nisbet, Lady Elgin and her husband (Lord Elgin--he of the infamous Elgin Marbles) and Aspasia, courtesan of Perikles of Athens (who commissioned the marbles/the Parthenon). Very good book. I like well researched historical fiction, so I'll have to look at her other novels as well http://www.karenessex.com/books.html Next up--quick read by Meg Cabot, Queen of Babble (quickly followed by a couple of other Queen of Babble books in the series if it's any good--if not, straight back to the library )

Well, "W" is a fashion magazine, not a "woman's" magazine, so she doesn't have to look real--she just has to look interesting I think it's an interesting cover....And I'm kind of sorry I dropped my subscription

He has kids of his own--I don't know that he wants more, but I don't think he has issues being around kids of other people, since they did bring his kids with them on a couple of outings too....
