  1. I watched the procession of the coffin (I keep wanting to say casket so I need to look up the specific differences...) from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall this morning. I love the intricate staging and logistics - how one officer collects the bearskin hats of the pallbearers so they don't get in the way as they move the coffin,  just silly little details that the military has mastered like no one else. Seeing which family members were there. Contrasting Anne's sensible shoes (she was walking, good for her! First princess ever, loving it!!!) and then the stilettos of Kate & Meghan & Sophie (Camilla also has more sensible low-heeled shoes on - I would definitely be THAT royal 😉 ) The camera was focussed on Charles & Camilla as they walked away after the ceremony, but you could see curtseys in the background - I do believe that "upstart American" Meghan had a deeper & more graceful curtsey than the POW 😉

  2. My best friend is bummed at the timing. She lives in Scotland (Aberdeen, just sold house and moved to near Glasgow) but she's in England this weekend/part of the week helping watch her nephews - she's missing the Scotland and England opportunities to pay her respects in person, which she wanted to do for history. (she's American)

  3. 11 yeah, don't doubt it, so what? Kate too.... [if I could live to 96 AND look as good as Elizabeth did, way until the end - her skin was perfection! - I'd probably smoke too!]

7 ugh, nope, don't believe it

9 if this is Andrew, that I would believe. That's why I think Charles will always support him, hating it as he does (and/or Andrew is WELL taken care of in Queen's will and Charles just has to ignore him)

7 (7 again? Fakey Fakey Fakey, you suck) EVERYONE in media had their "when the queen dies" items ready. Given that family, esp Harry & Meghan - you know they've talked about it. Most people talk about what happens when family dies, and when your family is rich and/or famous? Those discussions have import and consequence - so she's probably been talking about it and a podcast wouldn't be too much more effort.

  4. Today, I learned that King Charles III's favorite dog breed is a Jack Russell terrier and I couldn't be more surprised. I'd think that breed would just dig up his lovely gardens.....I also learned that the Queen had a cocker spaniel at her death. I knew about the 2 dogs Andrew gave her after Philip died, but she had another 2, and one was a cocker. Interesting. She really did love the animals more than her children....

  5. Agree I'm sad, but I've been a "fan" for years. Sounds like a weird way to say it but I'm not sure how else to describe - I'm not a royalist or monarchist but love the history and jewels, so....

Also can't believe he went with Charles III - in addition to the whole dog thing, the first 2 Charles didn't really do well. The whole dog breed aside.....

Going to fashion shows is work for me was the answer. Good luck to the happy couple.

I mean, I can't remember if she is currently a brand ambassador but yeah, it IS work for her. Have I mentioned how much I hate Fakey? What a misogynistic fake blind.

  7. Unconfirmed rumor that Pippa Middleton named her 3rd child (a daughter) Rose. You know, the name of her BIL's mistress 😉

One of my uncle's named his 2nd daughter the same as a cat he had with his first wife. Some of us in the family could NOT stop laughing. (me especially as I had a relationship with that cat - my cat got her pregnant - intentionally per her owners - but they did it on MY bed. I was 11 maybe? Then I happened to be visiting my uncle & aunt when she had the kittens, which was amazing to see)

Anyway, Pippa has a 3 yr old boy, 1 yr old girl, and a newborn girl. Yikes, that's fast. But I guess if you get married a little later and want a big family, that's the only option.

  8. How blind could it be - she's been audtioning publicly for it her entire life. The switch from Beanie to Lea is a little messy, no matter how you slice it. Beanie was going to be great, more like the real Fanny. But she can't do the songs. (ironically, apparently the real Fanny Brice wouldn't be able to either) Her reviews weren't great, sales slumped, it sucked.

  9. Not about Monaco so not "eurotrash", but non-British royalty. Well, and BR question. So tomorrow is the big dinner for Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway's 18th birthday. Much looking forward to what tiara she wears (tradition of giving princesses tiaras when they turn 18, I adore royal jewelry blogs, my pandemic addiction) So the palace in Norway has released the guest list (some on twitter had been following based on everyone's individualy announced schedules ahead of that as well). She has godparents among many royal families, the Scandinavian country monarchies are quite closely related as well, looks to be a big turnout - and there happen to be quite a few princesses in that age range, so we're hoping to see MANY newly "tiarad" young women.

But no British royalty attending. This would have been IDEAL for Ed & Sophie AND THEIR KIDS. They do all the royal weddings & social engagements with the other european royals already, they have an 18 year old daughter! Who is, technically, as granddaughter of the monarch, a PRINCESS. No matter she doesn't use the title and her parents didn't want it. So why aren't they going? Not invited? Not their priority (I notice they're off soon on a "work" trip to Cyprus but surely this could have been fit into the schedule).

Seeing how many European royals go to each other's events, WHY aren't the Brits ever there????

  10. I thought most dispute the "boo" - I didn't hear it for H&M. On entrance to church, it was for Boris Johnson who went in just prior. On exit, only a couple people in the crowds trying to get it going and the rest confused by that. I honestly don't think the majority of the crowd would boo them. But they are being fed a pretty constant stream of crap from the tabloids. Much as I recognize the clear bias on the celebitchy site, I agree about the untamed vitriol that keeps coming out about team sussex.
