I have several gay friends in long term relationships that didn't get married a few years ago because they thought they didn't have to rush. They could take their time and plan a nice wedding like straight couples. Now they just want to get married, they don't care about politics. It's more upsetting to them that they can't do a quickie wedding in a narrow window of time, rather than wait for it to be this big political thing when the supreme court rules on it. They made inter-racial marriages legal in the 60s. We think it's nuts now that it was ever illegal. I think this issue will be thought of in the same way 50 years from now.
