I Like The Dog And That's About It

Posted Image

ScarJo and Natalie Portman are on the cover of March's W Magazine promoting their movie "The Other Boleyn Girl." That movie is basically an excuse for these two to butcher a British accent. They make Britney sound like the Queen of England.

No, it's not the Halloween issue. These two look like a more expensive version of every goth girl I went to school with. It's like a Hot Topic ad. Maggie the chihuahua is over it though. She's like, "Why am I stuck with these posers? Was the Dog Fancy cover already booked?"

Here's some quotes from the article:

ScarJo on tabloids: “You’re never going to find me at the Ivy. I don’t care how good the Cobb salad is. These tabloid magazines—I think they’re hideous and the downfall of society.”

I think your acting is the downfall of society, ScarJo. We're even.

ScarJo on monogamy: “I’ve been battered for saying that I don’t believe humans are monogamous by nature. The response was, like, ‘What a ho-bag!’ I didn’t mean that I don’t practice monogamy in my own life—of course I do! I’m not going to be in some tarty relationship. But I stick by what I said. I remember another time, I said I get tested for AIDS twice a year, and again that got spun as me being promiscuous. But I was single at the time, and I think it’s important to do that!”

What a HOBAG!

Nat on her public persona: “The only thing that’s a little bit annoying, is I feel that I come off kind of boring sometimes.”

Awww, I like Natalie. I know I'm not supposed to, but she's so damn pretty.

Nat on monogramy: “I’m into monogamy. But I’m not really into marriage right now. I sort of hate the legal aspect of it. What does the state have to do with it? Why are they making rules that say my lover can stay in the United States if they’re foreign or share my health care benefits because I’m straight—but if you’re gay, you can’t have that?”

Whatever you say Natalie. Just stay pretty and isn't ScarJo such a HOBAG!!?!

Scarlett Johansson unveils debut album

AP

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Actress Scarlett Johansson says Tom Waits has given the thumbs-up to her debut album, which features covers of 10 tunes written by the notoriously persnickety musician.

"Anywhere I Lay My Head" will be released May 20 via Atco/Rhino. David Bowie, whom Johansson met a party just prior to beginning work on the album, lends his distinctive vocals to the tracks "Falling Down" and "Fannin' Street," while Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and members of the band Celebration contribute throughout. The album was produced by Dave Sitek of the New York rock band TV On The Radio.

The album also boasts one original tune, "Song for Jo." Johansson said she initially considered making an album of standards, but the project slowly morphed into a Waits-dominated affair. "His melodies are so beautiful and his voice is so distinct," she said at a news conference Tuesday.

"I sent him some of the early, early recordings, and he said, 'Go ahead,"' she added. "I've heard he's very pleased."

There are no plans for Johansson to perform live in support of the project, but she says she'd be intrigued by "getting everybody together," perhaps at a festival, at some point in the future. "It would be a missed opportunity not to."

Portman, Johansson in 16th-century drama

AP

Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson transformed themselves into Henry VIII's second wife, Anne Boleyn, and her sister in "The Other Boleyn Girl" — helped by costumes that, Johansson said, were "characters in themselves."

The movie, based on Philippa Gregory's book of the same name and directed by Justin Chadwick, debuted Friday at the Berlin film festival, where it screened out of competition.

Portman stars as the ambitious Anne Boleyn, who became Henry's second wife and eventually was executed. Johansson plays her little-known older sister, Mary, who was Henry VIII's mistress before her sister married the king (played by Eric Bana).

The stars said they were helped by the costumes from designer Sandy Powell, who won Oscars for her work on "Shakespeare in Love" and "The Aviator."

"It wasn't like I went to set every morning ... and was like, I can't wait to be corseted," Johansson told reporters. "But the costumes really aided in a way — they were kind of characters in themselves."

The outfits provided "a constant reminder of the restrictions placed on women at the time," she said. "You can't even move your arms, and everything is very statuesque and you have this giant skirt around you, and it's interesting how that changes the way you interact."

Portman said the costumes were "definitely helpful in creating the characters" and argued that the figures' story and emotions remain relevant to the modern world.

"Human emotion doesn't change," she said. "I think that's one of the hard things for us to imagine — how history might have been sexy, gossipy, glamorous."

Bana: No ego clash in film with Johansson, Portman

BERLIN (Reuters) - Eric Bana insisted his co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman got on famously and that all three actors were able to raise their game in "The Other Boleyn Girl" with a friendly competition to out-do each other.

The Australian who plays England's King Henry VIII in the film that made its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on Friday went out of his way to quash any notion there was any clash of egos or friction between high-powered young Americans.

"Why is it that people in the media hate the idea that actors working together is possibly true?," Bana said at a good spirited news conference after Johansson and Portman had been heaping praise on each other's acting talents.

"I hate to break it to you but actors really do love each other. It's a crazy job and we put ourselves in vulnerable positions. I don't care if it sounds corny but it's true: you're part of a brotherhood, and protect each other.

"And they indeed do get along really well."

Yet there are sparks between the two in "The Other Boleyn Girl," adopted from a best-selling novel by Philippa Gregory about the 16th century king and his second wife Anne Boleyn -- the mother of Queen Elizabeth I who was beheaded in 1536.

Portman, who plays a scheming Anne Boleyn, and Johansson, her sister Mary, vie against each other for the affections of King Henry -- Mary is his mistress and Anne becomes his wife.

"People keep asking if the rivalry was real but it was the opposite because we just liked each other so much," said Portman, 26. "It was such a rare opportunity to work with an actress my age who I much admire."

Johansson, who corrected Bana by calling it a "sisterhood" of actors, chimed in that Portman, who excels as a sinister character in the film, kept apologizing for being so mean.

"Natalie was apologizing all the time. She'd say 'I'm sorry for stealing your baby' or 'I'm sorry for that'," said Johansson, 23. "I said 'Don't worry. Let's get dinner later'."

Bana, 39, and Johansson said they all thrived on the competition during filming, which director Justin Chadwick took to many historic locations to give his cast an extra bit of inspiration. Chadwick said he was lucky to get the trio for his first film.

"It really was challenging," Johansson said. "It was a very healthy competition among all of us to raise the scene to the next level and keep the energy up. It was impressive every day.

"You can't be selfish as an actor and say 'I'm going to do this all for me and I don't care about the rest of you because my performance is going to be great'," Johansson said.

"That won't work. You see how your performance makes their performance better and it means so much to be able to have this kind of a sisterhood with other actors."

Bana, who gave the German media a treat by speaking a few lines in polished German, said there was nothing unusual about Australians and Americans playing historic English characters.

"Casting should be open to people from different nationalities," he said, before joking: "I think that as Australia is part of the commonwealth I felt it was my right to play this character."

Natalie, She's Going To Eat Your Head!

Posted Image

The lovely and gorgeous, Natalie Portman, posed with some crazy hooker at the Berlinale Film Festival premiere of "The Boleyn Girl" in Berlin tonight. ScarJo's head looks like it was raped with a dog brush. Natalie can do no wrong. Well, she is wearing hotel curtains over Salvation Army lingerie, but she is still beautiful. As long as she keeps her trap shut and doesn't start blabbing about how she's so smart and shit.

They are really pushing this movie. I'm still not sold. If I wanted to hear bad accents I'd watch Julia Roberts in "Mary Reilly" again. Although, Eric Bana is a tall drink of Ovaltine. He's probably the only good part.

Natalie Portman Lays a Big Ol' Kiss on Scarlett Johansson

Posted Image

It sounds really hot. Maybe it was possibly hot in real life and photos just don't do the moment justice. But, the shots out of Natalie Portman smacking lips with Scarlett Johansson at the premiere of their movie, "The Other Boleyn Girl," are a little disappointing to me. It looks like an awkward nervous 13-year-old kiss. Natalie looks like she is trying too hard to look hot for the cameras, and Scarlett looks all "Tee-hee, I'm pulling a Paris," which I bet leads Natalie to share a nice smooch with Scarlett's teeth.

The co-stars have become quite close friends over the past year, and Natalie confessed to W magazine that she is worried she comes off as boring. Perhaps this act was a way for Natalie to show everyone that she can be spontaneous and fun, or maybe Scarlett just wanted to make boyfriend Ryan Reynolds feel a tinge of jealousy. Whatever the motive -- I'd say mission accomplished!

Eric Bana Pours Water on the Cat Fight Rumor

Posted Image

Eric Bana, who stars with Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman in "The Other Boleyn Girl," dismissed the rumor that there was any sort of rivalry going on between the two female leads in the film. Sky News Online reports that Bana indicated that both women pushed each other to deliver the best performance possible and that it was merely friendly professional competition.

I could see the two clashing because they do seem to have such different personalities, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised to see the movie's publicity machine spinning this yarn to get us to see the movie.

Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson Not Connecting Lately

Posted Image

Here's Ryan Reynolds gracing "TRL" with his "Definitely, Maybe" co-stars Elizabeth Banks and Abigail Breslin. Abby better enjoy it while it lasts. Have you seen Haley Joel Osment lately? Awkward. There's word that Ryan and ladyfriend Scarlett Johansson aren't vibeing like they used to. Sources say the two of them are barely together due to their crazy schedules. Even though the two of them made appearances at the Berlin Film Festival, it was on different days and they missed each other.

A source says that "they haven't spent more than a day in the same city in months." I seriously don't know how the fiery hot ones date anyway. They're always on planes or on the set or at awards shows or film festivals. How do you have time to make sweet love? My off time would be spent napping and getting drunk. That's some stress!

Natalie Portman Is Fixated On Scarlett Johansson's Mammaries

Oh, what people won't say to shill a movie. Natalie Portman stars as Scarjo's sister in "The Other Boelyn Girl". And she's in heat over Scarjo's boobers. Nat and Scarlett Johansson look a little off here. Maybe it's the lack of any UV light in their present situations. I know they had to play Henry VIII's wives or some crap, but damn, I can see through them. I know there wasn't Mystic Tan back then, but they look like they've been chained in a cellar. About Scarlett's breasts, Nat says, "Seriously, I would really want to grab Scarlett's breasts. She's got beautiful ones." If you're into that sort of thing.

Here are the two lovely ladies at a special screening of the flick in NYC yesterday. Zac Posen has become all sorts of dashing. I'm liking the tie, the flower, the kerchief. I can even deal with the gray shoes and black suit. I don't really know how to match clothes that well, and he's a fashion designer, so he must know what he's doing.

Photos from a special screening of 'The Other Boleyn Girl' featuring John Driscoll, Vanessa Carlton, Zac Posen, Tory Burch and Natalie Portman:

Win a 'Special' Night With Scarlett Johansson

LOS ANGELES — Scarlett Johansson may only have eyes for Ryan Reynolds, but for one night only, the "Other Boleyn Girl" star is prepared to party with a different date.

The humanitarian hottie is taking her philanthropic passions a step further and has put herself up for auction to raise funds for Oxfam America — giving the average American the chance to accompany her to the highly anticipated June premiere of "He's Just Not That Into You." The book-based flick also stars Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Long and Ben Affleck.

Click here to make your bid.

But before the winner starts rubbing shoulders with Hollywood royalty, he or she will have to be treated to extensive services before a chauffeured car comes by with Johansson waiting inside. Sigh. (Well, would you want to be seen with Scarlett without a little "assistance"?)

Also in the name of charity, you and a guest can get your "Sex and the City" fix by attending the movie premiere and meeting the reportedly single Kristin Davis or hang out with "Bridget Jones" star Colin Firth at the "Mamma Mia" premiere in London.

"If you are the kind of person that always wanted to see middle-aged men in tight spandex trying to sing, then this is the film for you," Firth said.

Scarlett Johansson Is For Sale

Oh wow, I really do love this look on Scarlett Johannson. The actress is totally rocking the whole buxom ice-princess look. Very alluring. The young actress is flaunting her goods on the red carpet, which can only help the auction currently being held on eBay for a date with her to the premiere of her film, "He's Just Not That Into You." The premiere is set to take place in June and the winner will take a chauffeured car with Scarlett, and will go home with a hand-written note. The auction launched this morning and all proceeds go to Oxfam.

And you can see a peek of the brightly-colored tattoo that Scarlett's currently rocking on her forearm, which may or may not be a temporary thing. I really hope it's a fake, but I can't decide if that would actually be more embarrassing.

Funny, we didn't think they’d have the same sense of humor. Donny Osmond shared a laugh with 'College Road Trip' star Martin Lawrence at the movie's Hollywood premiere.

Rumor has it that Scarlett Johansson is moving in with beau Ryan Reynolds, much to the ire of her mom.

We hear the buxom blond shlepped her stuff into Reynolds' L.A. pad, but Mama Johansson thinks that at just 23, her baby girl is too young to cohabitate with the 31-year-old Reynolds. Reps for Johansson didn't return calls.

Johansson Snubbed Musical Role

SIR ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER was left devastated after Hollywood actress SCARLETT JOHANSSON snubbed a starring role in his hit musical adaptation of THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

The musical maestro fell for the screen starlet's vocal talents after he spent hours on the roof of an exclusive Los Angeles hotel practicing show tunes with her.

And he was eager for the Lost In Translation star to take the lead role of Maria in the musical - insisting Johansson is a "natural star" for the stage.

However, their musical rendezvous was left tarnished - after the star had to decline the part due to her busy moviemaking schedule.

The musical mogul tells Britain's Heat magazine, "She certainly has the voice to do it. She's terrific, a natural star for musicals."

Love on the rocks for Scarlett, Ryan Reynolds?

The Scoop

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have been quietly dating for about a year, but reports of their relationship being on the outs are becoming more frequent.

According to the Australian press, “Scarlett and Ryan have hit a rough patch after he dared to broach the subject of marriage and kids. Scarlett is younger and has no desire for a husband or family just yet.”

Also, reports that Johansson moved into Reynolds’ Los Angeles home aren’t true either, according to sources. “Scarlett hasn't moved in full time. She has just moved in so when she stays over she has some belongings there. She is very much focused on her career and is filming three movies back-to-back this year.”

Ryan and ScarJo were lovers, but . . .

By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa | Thursday, April 10, 2008 | http://www.bostonherald.com

Word from spywitnesses is that “The Proposal” star Ryan Reynolds and his galpal, Scarlett Johansson, had a bit of a lovers’ spat in the Financial District the other day.

According to Someone Who Was There, the Tinseltown lovebirds were walking on Arch Street down by the church and having a raaather heated discussion.

“The Ryan guy was clearly being a baby,” said our spy. “She kept grabbing his arm and he’d yank it away and she’d keep saying ‘Ry, come on, Ry. Stop.’

“He kept switching directions on the sidewalk like he wanted her to leave, responding over and over, ‘Roger that!’ - whatever that was supposed to mean.”

The hostilities ceased when the couple noticed that there was a photographer trailing them.

“He grabbed her hand and stormed away,” said our snoop.

Reynolds, of “Definitely, Maybe” fame, is in town filming “The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Jo was in town visiting him.

And if you believe the tabloids - and who doesn’t - there has been some trouble in lovelyland for the Tinseltown twosome. Word is, the couple is going through “a rough patch,” because Reynolds, 32, wants to tie the knot and his galpal is just 23 and very focused on her career at the mo.

“Scarlett is younger and has no desire for a husband or family just yet,” a source told London’s Daily Mail.

Guess you could say she rejected The Proposal.

Scarlett Johansson Says She's More Than A 'Brazen Harlot'

By WENN

Scarlett Johansson hopes her new album of dark Tom Waits covers will give her critics pause for thought because she's so much more than a "harlot" who looks good at film premieres.

The pretty actress can't understand why some people think she's just like the characters she plays in films or the roles she takes on in print ads. And she thinks Waits' moody songs - and her interpretation of them - will give her a new edge.

She tells Spin magazine, "I have platinum blonde hair, and I'm extremely curvy: I pour myself into a dress and show up and strut my stuff at premieres. Of course I expect people will have certain ideas but it's weird if people associate the fact that I sell handbags or wear a bikini with who I am when I wake up in the morning.

"People think I'm going to be some brazen harlot, but I'm not out there with every Tom, Dick and Harry or catching hepatitis."

"People think I'm going to be some brazen harlot, but I'm not out there with every Tom, Dick and Harry or catching hepatitis."

Uh-huh. And blowing some guy in an elevator on Oscar night doesn't signify because his name wasn't Tom, Dick or Harry. Stating that she blows guys to get roles isn't relevant because, doubtless, their names weren't Tom, Dick or Harry either.

She does photo layouts, movie roles and red carpet appearances selling her tits and ass. Then she whines, endlessly, about how people perceive her as a brazen harlot. This isn't the first time she's bitched and moaned about it. Hello? Earth to Scarlett! She can't have it both ways. If she wants to be seen as more than T&A, she'll have to cool it with the T&A. As it is, she wants to sell it as hard as she possibly can and then complain that people bought it. Stupid cow.
