I’m not surprised about Demi Lovato. She seems to have a lot of mental health issues, particularly with regard to self image. She struggles with an eating disorder and her relationship with Wilmer Whatshisface from That 70’s Show sounded emotionally abusive. If rumors are true he’s a total predator. I hope she gets the help she needs.

The issue is fixed. Thank you!

Is the upgrade going to fix the apostrophe issue with the mobile site? If not, is there any way we can get a fix? I miss my apostrophes.

Meghan Markles family is awful on her fathers side. The only positive thing I can say about him is that he doesnt like Trump. I hope hes lying about Harry liking him, although I wouldnt be surprised. I kind of assumed most of the royal family is politically conservative. I just hate to hear about anyone liking Trump. Ugh.

I have no problem believing that Angelina Jolie is engaging in parental alienation. Those poor kids. Theyre the ones that will be hurt the most. I dont think Brad is a saint either but the kids deserve to have a relationship with both parents without interference from the other.

I like the name. Im happy for them.

I'm sure the dad is no father of the year given that he has two older children who are incredibly messed up, and he was estranged from Meghan for a good chunk of her childhood IIRC, but I do think the British press is being harder on him than he deserves. To my knowledge he hasn't done anything like his older children, and in response to the nastiness of the British press Buckingham Palace put out a statement asking them to stop so I don't think he's as bad as he's being portrayed. Again, he doesn't seem like a great father either but he and Meghan did form some sort of relationship after their estrangement and she does/did intend to have him walk her down the aisle.

Congratulations to the couple. I wonder who this child will resemble. I see both parents in George, but I see more of Kate in him. Charlotte looks so much like Queen Elizabeth. I don't see much Kate in her, or William for that matter but she clearly favors his side of the family. I loved the dress Charlotte was wearing to meet her younger brother.

I think of prenups as insurance (I didn't have to sign one because hubby and I have been together since before he had any assets so all assets are both of ours, IMO). You don't get auto insurance because you think you're going to have an accident, or house insurance because you think your house will burn down, but in case it does happen you want to protect yourself. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. ETA: I'm also sure that as a Royal he has to have some sort of legal agreement about finances and such before marriage. Either he has a prenup or he has some other legal documents that do the same thing.

Im not going to mourn Billy Grahams death. He was antisemetic, and IMHO did not deserve the praise he got. Not only was he antisemetic but when he was confronted by others he denied saying anything and was believed until nearly a decade later the Nixon tapes were released and he was recorded saying all sorts of vile things about Jewish people. https://www.google.com/amp/www.ajc.com/news/national/billy-graham-richard-nixon-tapes-the-one-time-graham-image-was-tarnished/DCj06gfORZJLYa30cLawWL/amp.html

Bristol Palin is a poster child for whats wrong with abstinence only sex education. It doesnt work as demonstrated by every single study on the subject. ETA: My apostrophes keep disappearing when I post from my phone. I swear they were in there.

I hadnt heard about this. How did he trick her into approving it?

I haven't seen any of the films in the top categories either. It used to be that the movies nominated were also the most popular movies. With the exception of last year, that hasn't been the case for a while. Granted, I have two small children and have seen only two or three movies in the last year (two of which I saw at home but were recent releases thanks to movies coming out fairly rapidly after release nowadays) but even before children I rarely saw more than one of the films nominated for Best Picture and often I hadn't seen any. I've heard good things about Lady Bird and plan on seeing it when I can rent it through iTunes/Amazon/etc.. The title of the movie is confusing though. When I first heard about the movie I thought it was about LBJ's wife (famously nicknamed Lady Bird) and I'm not the only one I know who made that mistake.

http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/matt-damon-opens-harvey-weinstein-sexual-harassment-confidentiality/story?id=51792548 This Matt Damon interview is just rage inducing. He is the perfect example of why sexual harassment and abuse has been allowed to go on for so long in our society.

Not Mr. Rodgers. Never Mr. Rodgers. That would be the most shocking for me. Obama and Jimmy Carter would be huge shockers too, and very very disappointing. I also hope Ian McKellen stays off the list. Of those who have so far been accused, no one has really shocked me except Cosby. Some of them were known to be sexual predators on this board (Weinstein and Spacey, for example) and none of the others were people I actively believed would never have sexually harassed anyone.

I'm not surprised but I also think something seems off too.

My husband and I were both disappointed by Wonder Woman. I expected to be incredibly moved because so many people loved it and said it made them cry and I felt nothing. I found it all very predictable. I'm glad Brett Ratner is out though.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I & II
witchkitten replied to princess's topic in Theater Chatter
Our theater ran out of season tickets this year (the package that included Hamilton) so I thought I wasn't going to get to see it, but we were still able to get seats for a couple hundred each, which is expensive but not outrageous. I have friends in Los Angeles who said the only tickets left were the $600 seats. Although, I think initially there were less seats available when I first looked. The seats we got weren't there when I looked before they came to our city. I don't know where the new seats came from. -
Agree completely. It's been long rumored that Gwyneth Paltrow was cast in Shakespeare in Love because she slept with Weinstein. I believe her part was supposed to go to Winona Ryder. ETA: Also, I see a lot of actors and actresses are defending themselves by saying "I never saw any of these behaviors", which is probably true. I doubt Weinstein was raping women in front of A-listers, and I find it plausible they didn't know all the details, but they knew he was crossing the line even if they didn't know how far, and for them to pretend like this is some shocking revelation is ridiculous.

Of course, along with all of the voices condemning Weinstein we have Donna Karan defending him by victim blaming: http://pagesix.com/2017/10/09/donna-karan-defends-pal-weinstein-says-harassed-women-may-be-asking-for-it/ And here's a story about how Weinstein, with the help of Matt Damon, killed an exposé of Weinstein for the New York Times in 2004. http://www.celebitchy.com/552841/matt_damon_helped_harvey_weinstein_shut_down_a_nyt_expose_in_2004/
