Sounds like he may be forced into retirement against his will as many of his charities are evaluating his sponsorship. from the Guardian online. KPMG ends its backing for Prince Andrew's mentorship scheme Accountancy firm not renewing sponsorship, it emerges, after much-criticised TV interview Haroon Siddique and Anugraha Sundaravelu Mon 18 Nov 2019 14.27 ESTLast modified on Mon 18 Nov 2019 20.05 EST Shares 231 The Duke Of York at a Pitch@Palace event in 2015. Photograph: WPA Pool/Getty Images The accountancy giant KPMG is not renewing its sponsorship of Prince Andrew’s entrepreneurial scheme Pitch@Palace, it has emerged, in the wake of his much-derided interview in which he defended his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke of York has been heavily criticised as having shown neither contrition nor sympathy for Epstein’s child victims in the BBC Newsnight interview and his suitability as patron to scores of charities and organisations has been called into question as a result. On Monday, after it was reported by Sky News, Buckingham Palace confirmed that KPMG, a founding partner of Pitch@Palace, a mentorship scheme for budding entrepreneurs, was no longer involved, its contract having ended in October. Advertisement The accountancy firm refused to comment but the prince’s relationship with Epstein – and Virginia Giuffre (formerly Roberts), who says she had sex with the duke when she was 17, a claim he denies – has been under renewed scrutiny since the billionaire financier was arrested in July. The previously convicted child sex offender killed himself in prison in August. The palace said a full programme of Pitch@Palace events would continue. However, the organisation’s webpage listing its supporters, which previously included KPMG as well as the likes of Air Asia, Bosch, Standard Chartered, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, Bank of China and Barclays, had been taken down. Another partner, AstraZeneca, said it was reviewing its involvement in the scheme. A spokesman for the pharmaceutical company said: “Our three-year partnership with Pitch@Palace is due to expire at the end of this year and is currently being reviewed.” The insurance company Aon confirmed it had asked after the BBC interview for its logo to be removed from the Pitch@Palace website, where the firm was described as a global partner. But it said that its name should never have been on the webpage in the first place as it has never been involved in the scheme in any capacity and was at a loss as to how it had been included. Most of the charities and other organisations to which Prince Andrew has given his patronage, or with whom he holds some other role, remained tight-lipped on Monday, offering neither support nor condemnation. Prince Andrew used the N-word, former No 10 aide claims Read more However, the Outward Bound Trust, founded in 1941, said it would be holding a special meeting to discuss the allegations against the prince, formerly a trustee but now a patron of the charity. A spokeswoman said: “We are coordinating an additional board meeting that will take place in the next few days. On the agenda will be a discussion of the issues raised by the interview given by Prince Andrew on Saturday.” Profile Who was Jeffrey Epstein? Show Power2, a charity which works on equipping children and young people aged 13 to 21 with life skills and which counts Prince Andrew as a patron, suggested its position might change depending on future developments. It said: “Power2 is conscious of the Duke of York’s recent TV interview, subsequent media coverage and previous statements from Buckingham Palace regarding the Jeffrey Epstein allegations. Our position is unchanged for the present: we will continue to monitor the situation closely.” The Council of British Schools said it was aware of the recent publicity but insisted the prince had given “valued support” since becoming a patron in 2011. The organisation added that it “continues to be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults worldwide”. Another charity helping young people, the Peter Jones Foundation, set up by the Dragons’ Den panellist, said of its patron: “The palace has issued an emphatic denial and we have nothing further to add to this statement.”

I think a longish break for Harry and Meghan will be good all around. I feel like I need a break from them and I used to like them. I’m not into comparing the wives, it’s nothing to do with Kate, I just know the Sussexes have tried my patience lately.

While it is somewhat better now, I know this still happens. It makes me sad to see the damage caused by not allowing people to be themselves. Who knows that the trajectory of their relationship might have been, but imagine if that relationship being true to itself might have led to a time when Whitney and Bobby didn’t happen the way it did. That was a toxic relationship if ever there was one. Trying to “protect” people has caused so much pain. https://people.com/music/robyn-crawford-breaks-silence-whitney-houston-love-affair-memoir/ Whitney Houston's Best Friend Robyn Crawford Breaks Her Silence on Their Love Affair in New Memoir

I have two teenagers, one away in college. We get our moneys worth on our Netflix, Prime and Hulu! If it were possible to burn out streaming, like you used to be able to wear out VHS tapes, no one could ever watch Gilmore Girls again until my daughter gives up on it.

My Husband can not eat garlic. I grew up with an Italian father. It is the single hardest cooking issue we have, and I had a child with a life threatening dairy allergy. I love garlic. Love it. Love it. That diet would be so bland. But I’m seriously thinking about the breakfast and tea and Prosecco additions! That was a fun article.

I can’t find it now because I saw it when I was killing time in line earlier today. There is a pretty lengthy twitter thread about Jeff Goldblum and basically saying he’s the next one about to get “Me Too-ed.” It started from a thread about James Franco’s acting school. I’ll try to find it again, but curious to see if it really breaks.

    The Celeb Price of Fame

Just in the last week I read a similar article about Michael B Jordan (maybe I read it here). He said it upset his mom and he didn’t want to do it anymore. And honestly, I’m glad because I have never recovered from his time on The Wire. It literally makes me tear up thinking about it. Something about him as a kid actor was just so vulnerable and real. I remember thinking we would see him again.

    Official 2019 Divorce Poll

That’s a good guess. I’m going to admit that will make me a little sad. I don’t have a particular love (or hate) for either of them, but I kind of liked the idea of them making it this far after NO ONE thought they’d be married long. Some times I just want to root for the underdog, especially since they have a kid. I really have no logical explanation for wishing them to stay together, I just do.

Has anyone watched the new episodes? I got my teenager to binge the old show with me this summer. We finished the movie the day they announced that season 4 was dropping early. We finished that last night. Lots of controversy about it online but don’t want to spoil it for anyone who might still be watching.

Game of Thrones - no spoilers

https://pagesix.com/2019/05/28/kit-harington-checked-into-luxury-rehab-for-stress-and-alcohol/ Kit Harington checked into luxury rehab for stress and alcohol By Mara Siegler, Emily Smith and Sara Nathan “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington secretly checked into luxury rehab for stress and alcohol use ahead of the show’s ending, which “really hit him hard,” multiple sources have exclusively confirmed to Page Six. Exhausted Harington, 32, who played Jon Snow on the hit HBO series for eight years, has been at luxury Connecticut health retreat Privé-Swiss for nearly a month, arriving weeks before the show’s finale on May 19, Page Six has learned. The British actor has been undergoing psychological coaching, practicing mindful meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy to combat stress and deal with negative emotions at the facility, which costs over $120,000 a month. His actress wife, Rose Leslie, 32, whom he met on the set of “GoT” and played Jon Snow’s Wildling companion Ygritte, is being “extremely supportive,” we’re told. Kit Harington and Rose Leslie in “Game of Thrones”HBO A friend told Page Six of Harington, “The end of ‘GoT’ really hit Kit hard … “He realized ‘this is it — this is the end’, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, what next? “He’s in the clinic predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol. “His wife Rose is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet.” A rep for the actor told us, “Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues.” After eight seasons following his character Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen on their separate journeys, then finally as a couple, in the final episode, “GoT” fans saw Jon stab Dany – the woman he loves – to death in the heart to save the realm. The episode broke TV records, with 19.3 million viewers tuning in. A “GoT” behind-the-scenes documentary titled “The Last Watch” released at the time of the finale showed Harington breaking down in tears and holding his hand to his mouth in horror at the moment he first learned his character would kill Dany. The actor became totally choked up during a table read with the entire cast, where the actors were led through the finale script for the first time by show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington in the “Game of Thrones” finaleHelen Sloan/HBO Harington later said of that emotional moment, “I was very shocked and surprised at certain events,” during a “Late Show with Jimmy Fallon” appearance, “and then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried.” The actor has been allowed the freedom to leave the facility for breaks over the past month and has been seen by locals in Connecticut heading to a fitness and wellness studio, plus a local book store. On the same weekend of the “GoT” finale, he was spotted at RJ Julia Booksellers in the small town of Madison, Conn., telling staff he was on “holiday” in the area, according to local reports. One resident who has repeatedly seen the actor in recent weeks on his trips out of the facility told us, “Kit looks really good and appears to be very focused on his health and wellness. “I have personally seen him out in the community many times. I think it’s wonderful that he is taking time to take care of himself – more people should.” Harington has been open about his struggle as the show turned him into a huge international star and admits he sought therapy after learning Jon would kill Daenerys. He recently told Variety his lowest and “darkest” point came as he became the focus of the show as Jon was killed and then came back to life. Kit Harington as Jon SnowHBO “It wasn’t a very good time in my life,” he said. “I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world when actually, I felt very vulnerable. I had a shaky time in my life around there — like I think a lot of people do in their 20s.” “My darkest period was when the show seemed to become so much about Jon when he died and came back,” he explained. “I really didn’t like the focus of the whole show coming onto Jon. “When you become the cliffhanger of a TV show, and a TV show probably at the height of its power, the focus on you is f—–g terrifying. “That was a time when I started therapy and started talking to people,” he said, “I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone.” He also told Esquire in April that he had a “full-on breakdown” after filming his final scenes for “GoT” and that he felt he was “being skinned” taking off his Jon Snow costume. “My final day of shooting, I felt fine … I felt fine … I felt fine … then I went to do my last shots and started hyperventilating a bit …Then they called ‘wrap’ and I just f—-g broke down. It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again.” He added, “But the weirdest bit was when we came off set and they started taking the costume off and it felt like being skinned … It felt like they were unceremoniously for the last time ripping off this character.”

I absolutely love the pictures from Kate’s garden at the flower show. There’s one in particular, George and Charlotte sitting on the bridge with their feet splashing in the water. I just LOVE that they are real kids. Not just buttoned up little show pieces. I love that they have been able to keep that part of childhood for them. I know they, especially George, have a “higher calling” but I think being regular kids as much as possible is so healthy for them and will only help them relate to the people. I think Diana would be so happy with her family.
