This ends my large bump therory. I think I secretly preferred the thought that they tricked everyone so they could get some peace and quiet for a few weeks, but oh well. Knowing how much Harry values his privacy (or really devalues the paparazzi) and knowing he has zero chance of being king, I hope everyone gives the kid some space. Harry and Meghan are doing their job being public figures but eventually Archie will be like Prince Michael of Kent - cousin to a monarch and anonymous to a good percentage of the world. Let him have some time to be normal. For some perspective on Archie’s relative place, here’s Prince Michaels data: He is currently 48th in the line of succession to the British throne, but at the time of his birth was seventh in the line of succession. Because there aren’t many siblings, I don’t think Archie will drop that far, but still... and hey, FDR was one of Prince Michaels godfathers. Learn something new!

I was totally on board with the “she’s more pregnant than they are admitting.” Her bump was huge really early on. Her disappearing before the birth and the refusal to release the birth certificate do nothing to prove to me that the baby couldn’t have come earlier than they said. I’m not. A huge conspiracy theorist, so it’s probably not the case, but it isn’t certain to me that it’s not either. Like, if three years from now they admit the baby was born a few weeks before they said, I’d not be shocked.

Sorry for the duplicate post. The site is being weird. Princess, Mountbatten-Windsor is the (I guess unofficial?) last name of Queen Elizabeth’s family. Mountbatten for Philip and Windsor for her. I’m digging deep into my Duran Duran era Anglophilia today.

My understanding (very tenuous) is that grandchildren of the monarch are entitled to be styled Prince/Princess but Edward and Anne declined for their children. George, as the heir is entitled but Charlotte and Louis are not. However before George was born the queen extended that courtesy to all of Williams kids as they are the kids of the heir. Not sure what happens after Charles takes over. I think having so many generations of heirs is confusing protocol! google agrees with me except that it’s only grandchildren of the male line, but I’m pretty sure the Queen offered it for Anne’s kids and she said no. The part about William’s kids is relevant because once the succession rules were changed (before George was born) he could have been a girl, heir to the throne, but not a princess. . For the most part, the titles and styles of a Monarch’s descendants are determined by the Letters Patent issued by King George V in 1917. Under these LPs, the style of ‘Royal Highness’ and title of ‘Prince/Princess’ is granted to: children of the monarch grandchildren in the male line the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales Several additional LPs have been issued since then, which make some alterations to the original LPs: 1948 – King George VI issued LPs declaring that all children of then-Princess Elizabeth would be styled as HRH and titled as Prince/Princess. I think if Trump goes, Pence will be implicated enough to make him unsustainable in 2020. It would be even better if he just went outright (Nancy for the win) but I don’t think that will happen. They shut down LaGuardia today, so the pressure is really on for the shutdown. This is just not sustainable. My husband is a contractor whose company is still funded (for now)but we know so many people out of work and freaking out. This nightmare can’t end soon enough.

It’s weird how many articles there are about them planning for their big wedding (which keeps moving) while only barely acknowledging that they are already married. Someone’s forcing a narrative there. Whether it’s the press or the family, I don’t know.

I’m on goodreads. I usually set my challenge to 52 and finish with somewhere between 70-90. This year I just finished 52 last week. Slow reading year for me too. I just finished The Woman in Cabin 10 and am currently on the Witch Elm and Turtles All the Way Down (dont judge, I use my teens as an excuse).
