McCartney to Donate to Minefield CharityAP A charity backed by Paul McCartney and his estranged wife has canceled a fundraising gala after the former Beatle said he would not attend, British newspapers reported. The event, set for Oct. 11 in Los Angeles, was intended to raise money for the Adopt-A-Minefield campaign, the Daily Mirror said. Heather Mills McCartney helped found the charity. Adopt-A-Minefield declined to comment on the reports Friday and would not say whether the event had been canceled. British newspapers reported that McCartney was considering making a donation to the organization to compensate it for the cancellation. Stuart Bell, McCartney's spokesman, confirmed that McCartney would be making a donation, although he declined to comment on the exact sum. McCartney, 64, and Mills McCartney, 38, announced their separation in May after four years of marriage. They have begun divorce proceedings in an increasingly acrimonious split. The couple have a 2-year-old daughter, Beatrice. The former Beatle announced his decision not to attend the gala in July, saying in a statement that he would not be able to attend "given the current circumstances." Last year's gala in Los Angeles, hosted by the couple, raised some $3 million for minefield clearance and the rehabilitation of land mine victims.

http://seriouslyomgwtf.blogsome.com/2006/0...ses-nude-again/I hope this link can be easily viewed...but yep...she has posed nude again, at one of their favorite properties, while Sir paul was away!! She is unbelievable!!!

I am SO on Paul's side and things like this are bound to upset the Brits...Paul's potential jury, if it goes to that. She is such an idiot. Doesn't she know that those old photos made her look like a skank? New naked photos are NOT good in the least for her. Paul can just say she's unstable, and everyone will immediately believe him -- I believe that they already do. Her settlement keeps dropping and Paul is just watching the debacle. This is getting GOOD.

A trashy psycho, but she'll be a RICH one! I mean hes worth, what, a billion pounds? Even if she were to get 5% of his net worth, she'd get 50million pounds, which is about $100US, non? I'm very much on his side in this divorce BBBUUUUTTTT I also do think that he was an old idiot himself for marrying her. What was he thinking? Even his kids loathed her, and he went ahead with it anyway. This is a typical old-guy-trying-to-relive-youth situation, which so often goes wrong, wrong, wrong. May this be a cautionary tale for all the other old rich fogies out there who think that that they kind find ever-lasting love with much-younger women. Ugh.

Well, I know people might rate the US dollar as a strong currency but to say $100 US = £50 million is stretching things a touch is it not ? :)

Sadly, the US $ is not worth much here in England. Current exchange rate is about 1.9 USD to 1 GBP. So £50m is close to $100m!

HEATHER'S HOLIDAY A FREEBIE

Page Six

September 6, 2006 -- HEATHER Mills can thank her ultra-rich Hollywood pals for her quality time in the Hamptons this past weekend - she had the use of a stunning oceanfront home in Amagansett and didn't pay a dime for it, Page Six has learned.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Mills was shelling out close to $80,000 for a weeklong Hamptons rental so she could be near Beatrice, her 2-year-old daughter with Paul McCartney.

But in fact, McCartney's soon-to-be-ex-wife had been in Los Angeles doing business last month when her close pal, producer-director Dennis Erdman, whose credits include "Gilmore Girls" and "Grosse Pointe," offered her use of the Amagansett home he shares with his boyfriend, Darren Star, creator of "Sex and the City," for the long Labor Day holiday.

"We are working on many animal campaigns together, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to further discuss some of our plans," Erdman, an avid animal rights campaigner, told Page Six.

"The additional plus is that Paul was going to be with Beatrice in Amagansett, and therefore Beatrice could see Heather, as well. Heather discussed this with Paul and he was totally supportive about Heather coming to stay with me and share time with Beatrice.

"In fact, a couple of times, he dropped her off . . . and one time with a child's bike in the back [of the car], so Beatrice and Heather could go bike riding."

Erdman said Mills got Beatrice for the first half of the day and McCartney got her for the second - "and she always spent the night with Paul, since that was his week to have her."

Meanwhile, Beatrice was said to be doing fine and "she is not traumatized" by the bitter public McCartney-Mills divorce battle, which has included accusations of lock-changing and phone-tapping.

"Paul and Heather shield her from it. She does cry now and again . . . just like every 2-year-old child," according to Erdman. In thanks for the lovely weekend, Mills stocked her host's fridge with a load of vegan goodies.

Sir Paul McCartney is set to offer a £40 million divorce settlement to his estranged wife.

The former Beatle will pay the large sum over 20 years in return for Heather Mills' agreement that she will not speak publicly about their marriage.

A source told the News of the World: "They are thrashing out a deal which would amount to between £30 million and £40 million over 20 years and there will be strict conditions.

"Heather must reveal nothing about their personal lives - no books, no TV specials. She has one hell of a story and Paul wants a settlement to make sure it never comes out. Heather has no intention of telling it because she knows it would only hurt their daughter Bea, but it would always be lurking in the background.

"Any breach of the conditions would allow him to stop the payments - so basically he has control of Heather for the rest of his life. There's a long way to go but it looks like that will form the basis of the settlement."

FIRST EX BLASTS HATED HEATHER

HEATHER Mills shouldn't get a dime out of her soon-to-be-ex Paul McCartney, her bitter first husband says. "We have both been Heathered . . . If she took out of the marriage what she put in, she would walk out with minus a million bucks," fumed Alfie Kamal, who was married to Mills in the late '80s before he says she ran off with a ski instructor. He told the London Evening Standard: "Our marriage lasted just under two years . . . She ran off lots of times. It was a bit like the Runaway Bride. I used to think she had a permanent pair of sneakers on under her shoes . . . You get to a point where you start to hate her and hate the way she is." Meanwhile, Donald Trump has also weighed in on the split, which could yield Mills as much as $400 million of Paul's fortune, urging couples to get a prenup. "I know I sound like a broken record but . . . get a prenup . . . I don't care how much you love your fiancé. It's just idiotic to get married without one. Trump says on his Trump University blog. "Don't believe me? Ask Paul McCartney what he thinks. I know he wishes he had one."

Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow are reportedly trying play matchmaker with their single parents, Sir Paul McCartney and Blythe Danner.

The fashion designer and Oscar-winning actress, who are close friends, think McCartney, 64, and Danner, 63, would be perfect for each other because they are close in age and both lost spouses to cancer.

A source tells Britain’s Star magazine, “Gwyneth’s mom is much closer to Paul’s age than (his estranged wife Heather Mills) was, and Gwyn and Stella are practically best friends.

“They would love it if their parents hooked up — and believe me, they’ve talked about it.”

Paul "Doing Fine" Post-Heather

E! Online

In the midst of tabloid rumors, lock-changing snafus and a potentially costly divorce battle, Paul McCartney has remained relatively mum about his split from Heather Mills McCartney, instead relying mainly on lawyers and publicists.

But on Monday, he briefly broke his silence.

During a press conference in London touting his new classical album, Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart), the former Beatle told the media that he's "doing fine" when asked how he's been coping with the breakup.

Without going into detail, McCartney said he was "okay" and offered a glass-half-full take.

"Life beats you down occasionally," he said. "But I am the eternal optimist. No matter how rough it gets, there's always light somewhere. The rest of the sky may be cloudy, but that little bit of blue draws me on."

McCartney was quick to divert attention back to his craft. "I'm enjoying music," he said. "It's something I love to do. It's something that sustains me. So I'm enjoying it, finishing this project off and also the next one."

He then lobbed what could be perceived as a backhanded dig at Mills McCartney, telling the press that the album honors the memory of his first wife, Linda. He said he started the album when she was alive and, out of grief, put it on the backburner after she died of breast cancer in 1998.

"I took a year or so before I could get back into it," he said. "The interlude in the middle is a particularly sad melody and is what got me going again. Her spirit is very much in this. It would have been her birthday yesterday so it's very appropriate."

McCartney added that the album's lyrics were inspired by what he calls the important things in life.

"When I came around to thinking, `what do I want the words to say?' I just wrote down a whole load of things that interest me about truth, about love, about honesty and about kindness. Stuff that I thought was important in life," he said.

McCartney's recollections of his second marriage are likely to be much less nostalgic.

In May, the couple announced their breakup, claiming the dissolution of their seven-year marriage was quite amicable. Since then, it's taken a turn.

In August, police were called to McCartney's estate after Mills McCartney was seen scaling the walls after discovering the gate locks had been changed. The former model laughed off the incident, calling it a misunderstanding and saying she was just visiting the couple's two-year-old daughter, Beatrice.

Prior to that, McCartney froze the couples' joint bank account after his estranged wife reportedly withdrew more than 1 million pounds in less than a month. Things have apparently become so touchy that he reportedly filed a complaint against her for absconding with three bottles of cleaning solution from his Sussex home to clean her nearby office.

With her husband a beloved figure, Mills McCartney has suffered the brunt of the public criticism since the split. She's been accused, among other things, of participating in pornography and posing for risque photos in her early modeling days, as well as acting as a high-priced hooker in her early 20s, a charge that brought even McCartney to her defense.

Still, she may be laughing all the way to the bank. Because the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement, she may stand to pocket nearly $1.6 billion of McCartney's hefty fortune.

It's likely to be a battle royale on the scale of the Prince Charles-Princess Diana divorce. In fact, Anthony Julius, who represented Diana, will stand up for Mills McCartney, while Fiona Shackleton, Charles' legal attack dog, will rep McCartney.

As for the new album, McCartney's fourth classical effort will be released Tuesday by EMI Classics. His prior three were 1991's Liverpool Oratorio, 1997's Standing Stone and 1999's Working Classical.

Sainsbury's give Mucca the boot

By ROBIN PERRIE

and LYNSEY HAYWOOD

September 26, 2006

HEATHER Mills was booted out of a Sainsbury’s supermarket at the weekend — because she was once a teenage shoplifter.

The estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney had dropped in on the store while visiting pals in her native North East.

But a staff member recognised her and refused to let her in, saying she was banned for crimes committed more than 20 YEARS ago.

The humiliated ex-model stormed off as stunned shoppers looked on.

And to make things worse, last night it appeared shop staff had got it WRONG.

Sainsbury’s bosses said she wasn’t banned from any of their stores and was welcome any time.

Heather, 38, hit trouble while visiting the Savacentre in Washington, Tyne and Wear, with a bodyguard. One shopper said: “A woman worker went up to Heather and stopped her going in. She said, ‘Excuse me, Heather, you know you’re not allowed in there, you know the situation’.

“Heather replied, ‘For Christ’s sake, that was years ago. Do you honestly think I’m going to shoplift now? I’ve moved on from there’.

“But the woman wouldn’t budge. Heather walked away, head down. You could tell she was horrified.”

Heather, dubbed Lady Mucca over her porn pics past, told in her autobiography Out On A Limb how she stole supermarket food in her teens.

She wrote: “By ten I was an old hand. Pinching food was really quite easy, I discovered.”

Her ordeal is the latest blow in a traumatic few months since her split from ex-Beatle Sir Paul, 64. She is trying to land half the rocker’s billion-pound fortune.

A Sainsbury’s spokesman said: “We can confirm Heather Mills McCartney would be most welcome to shop in any of our stores.”

SIR Paul has snubbed Heather by dedicating his new classical album to late first wife Linda. He said Ecce Cor Meum contained her “spirit”.

Paul McCartney Says He's 'Doing Fine'

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2006 09:00AM EST

By Tim Nudd

He's in the middle of an ugly divorce from Heather Mills, but Paul McCartney said Monday that he's "doing fine" and that his musical work "sustains" him in difficult times.

McCartney, 64, spoke at a press conference in London for his new classical album, Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart). Asked how he's faring these days, he said, "I'm doing fine. It's okay. I am enjoying music. It's something I love to do. It's something that sustains me."

The new album was inspired by McCartney's late wife, Linda, who died of breast cancer in 1998. "It was started when Linda was alive," he said. "It has a lot of my feelings for her in it.

"When she died it stalled me and it took a year or so to before I could get back into it," he continued. "And the interlude in the middle, the sad melody, is what got me back into it. So her spirit is very much in this. It would have been her birthday yesterday, so it's very appropriate.

The press conference came to an end when a reporter asked about a story that had appeared in the morning's newspapers, apparently quoting McCartney as saying he found it hard to cope with his split from Mills.

McCartney said, "Now wait a minute. You're a little renegade, coming out of the corner here. I haven't read the Daily Mirror today. Have we someone breaking away from the script? I think we have."

Mills and McCartney separated in May after nearly four years of marriage. They have a 2-year-old daughter, Beatrice Milly. They have hired the same attorneys who represented Prince Charles and Princess Diana during their 1996 divorce.

Heather's supermarket shoplifting shame

26.09.06

Heather was refused entry to a supermarket for shoplifting as a teenager

The shameful past of Heather Mills came back to haunt her again on the weekend - when she was refused entry to a supermarket where she shoplifted as a teenager.

According to The Sun newspaper, Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife was told by a member of staff at the Sainsbury's store in her hometown: "Excuse me, Heather, you know you're not allowed in there, you know the situation."

Despite her protests the ex-model was not allowed into the shopping centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear, where she had stopped off with a bodyguard.

Heather, 38, whose alleged past as an escort girl was exposed earlier this year, told the staff member: "For Christ's sake, that was ten years ago. Do you really think I'm going to shoplift now? I've moved on from there."

In her autobiography Out On A Limb, Heather admitted how she stole supermarket food as a young child. She wrote: "By ten I was an old hand. Pinching food was really quite easy I discovered."

But Sainsbury's bosses have said Heather was not banned from any of their stores and was welcome at any time.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm Heather Mills McCartney would be most welcome to shop in any of our stores."

HEATHER Mills may have split from Paul McCartney, but she's not lonely. She takes her personal trainer, Ben Amigoni, everywhere and even sprung for his $7,500 seat next to her on a recent London-to-L.A. flight, the London Evening Standard reports.

LONDON (Reuters) - Former Beatle sought on Friday to cash in on his name by registering it as a trademark for use on everything from waistcoats to vegetarian food. In addition to vegetarian items, he is also seeking permission for the name on meat, fish, poultry and game.

The application has been made by McCartney's company, MPL Communications Ltd, and if successful will give it the exclusive right to use of the name McCartney on clothing, footwear, headgear and a variety of other goods. The full application specifies such disparate items as articles of fancy dress, overalls, waistcoats, hosiery, dressing-gowns, bath robes, sports clothing and swimwear.
