Disney unveils new schedule

'Old Dogs,' 'Hannah Montana' set release dates

By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK

With the writers strike resolved, Disney is the latest studio to rejigger and give more shape to its release calendar through 2009 and the early part of 2010.

The Mouse House has staked out opening dates for a cluster of films, including laffer "Old Dogs," filmmaker Walt Becker's follow-up to sleeper box office hit "Wild Hogs." "Dogs," with a cast including John Travolta, Robin Williams and Seth Green, bows April 10, 2009. "Wild Hogs" opened in spring as well.

In a counterprogramming maneuver, Disney's "The Hannah Montana Movie" will debut May 1, 2009, opposite 20th Century Fox's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

Looking to Thanksgiving 2009, Bruce Willis futuristic cop actioner "The Surrogates" will unspool the weekend before the holiday on Nov. 20, 2009.

During the WGA walkout, studios weren't in a position to begin to round out their slates for 2009 or move pictures around, since they couldn't be sure how fast the production pipeline would be up and running. The majors are relatively confident that a new deal can be struck with actors without a walkout this summer.

Last week, Paramount made a number of changes, including moving J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" from Christmas to May 2009.

Disney is the second studio to make a multitude of changes.

Disney rejiggered release dates for several titles, including action-adventure "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," which will now open June 16, 2009, instead of July 10, 2009.

The move means that "Prince of Persia" will open ahead of Par's "Transformers 2" (June 26, 2009) and "Ice Age III" (July 1, 2009) versus bowing in their wake.

As a result of claiming May 1, 2009, for "Hannah Montana," Disney moved 3-D animated pic "G-Force" out of that slot to July 24. That's the second 3-D title, as well as the second toon, to bow on that date after the Weinstein Co. horror entry "Piranha 3D" and New Line's animated adventure "Planet 51."

The Mouse House also has decided to make Isla Fisher-Hugh Dancy romantic comedy "Confessions of a Shopaholic" its 2009 Valentine's Day release, instead of Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy "The Proposal," which will now be released Sept. 25, 2009 vs. Feb. 13, 2009, when "Proposal" debuts.

Disney dated two other films: Sci-fi family adventure-comedy "Race to Witch Mountain," starring Dwayne Johnson, will bow March 13, 2009, while Tim Burton's 3-D remake of "Alice in Wonderland" will unspool a week later on March 19, 2009.

In another tweak, Disney retitled two films: "South of the Border" (Sept. 26) becomes "Beverly Hills Chihuahua," while "High School Musical 3" (Oct. 24) becomes "High School Musical 3: Senior Year."

Meanwhile, Paramount has made an additional tweak on top of last week's changes, moving back D.J. Caruso's Shia LeBeouf thriller "Eagle Eye" one month from Aug. 8 to Sept. 26. That gives Par some breathing room now that it's releasing DreamWorks' Ben Stiller laffer comedy "Tropic Thunder" on Aug. 15.

On the specialty side, the Weinstein Co. announced this week that it will bow 2008 Sundance acquisition "Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden," the Morgan Spurlock docu generating plenty of buzz, on April 18.

Zac Efron Admires How Idol Contestants Handle Fame

PEOPLE

Sure, he loves the music, but Zac Efron says he tunes into American Idol for its star-making potential. “[The show] deals with regular people who really have a dream and like to perform,” the High School Musicalstar tells MTV.com. “I have such admiration for those guys — they go literally from zero to 60 in a matter of days and they handle it like champs … I couldn’t have done that: go to the peak of your fame within a month of starting.”

Not just a casual viewer, the L.A. resident says in past seasons he’s gone down to check out the show live. “A few years ago, I went, like, almost every week,” he says. “It’s a completely different experience live. You really get to see who is a good singer, and who can really captivate a crowd. And you can tell it’s really influential on the judges’ decisions.”

As for those judges, “I tend to agree with Simon most of the time,” he says. “But my favorite judge, just because I know her, is Paula — she’s a real sweetheart.”

Zac Efron's Boy-On-Boy Action

Posted Image

Doesn't this totally look like we found it on the side of an Abercrombie & Fitch shopping bag? This is reportedly a picture of Zac Efron (that came to us via Towleroad) giving a young, nubile, shirtless pal of his a friendly kiss on the cheek. We're not saying that this is anything more than circumstantial evidence of Zac's...curiosity, but we'll let you be the judge of what exactly this proves...or doesn't prove.

This Is So Not Zac Efron.....Or Is It?

Posted Image

A lot of you skanks have been sending me this photo that is claimed to be Zac Efron giving cheek love to another dude. I just don't see Zac Efron here. I see two lovely lipstick lesbians sharing an intimate moment. Wait, maybe it is Zac then! Well, if it is him then he's so not gay. No self-respecting gay would be able to kiss up on someone else when there's that much clutter in the background. Look at that shit. They need Niecy Nash to come in there and clean house!

Zac Efron Gets Trapped

Posted Image

Zac Efron is currently filming a movie in the UK, and decided to get a bite to eat at the "Copperfields" restaurant. It was here that he was soon spotted by a bunch of girls just outside the restaurant, whose teen heartthrob radar had just gone off. Eventually, the crowd of people grew so large that the police had to escort Zac out.

However, before he had to head out, Zac managed to pose with the owners of the restaurant (pictured here). The baby and the father look mildly confused about the situation, which I find infinitely amusing. And I'm guessing that it does rain in England as much everyone says because everyone in the picture appears to have wet hair.

Hmm, I wonder if we could somehow figure out a way to make teen heartthrobs smell like bombs, so that we could start using adolescent girls to help sniff them out at the airport. It would probably be less expensive than dogs because I'm sure they'd do it for free.

I got an e-mail the other day from one of Zac Efron's alleged ex-boyfriends. I took a screen shot of the e-mail and below is the senders (shown above) message.

I never thought I would be writing to a blogger but since another of Zacs boyfriends already stepped up to the plate I will too. I dated Zac back in his Summerland days for a a few weeks while he was still struggeling with his sexuality. We then ran into each other in July 2007 and dated from then until November. He broke up with me on the steps of the Virgin Megastore with no warning. He's a confused guy who has a lot on his plate. I have no bad feeling toward him. Going out with a celebrity isn't a picnic. I'll attach a pic of me. We've met. Do you remember me?

Oh, the gays...

Efron Stays Quiet Over Split Fears

Hollywood star ZAC EFRON refuses to divulge intimate details of his relationship with VANESSA HUDGENS, over fears he’ll look foolish if they split up before his gushing words are published.

The High School Musical heartthrob insists he’s deeply in love, but concedes relationships are wildly unpredictable - and he’s determined not to look stupid should their romance end.

He says, "I don’t want to be another 20-year-old actor talking about my relationship.

"I want to keep that private - sorry. All I can say is that Vanessa’s a great girl. And I’d hate to say more about it because by the time this interview comes out, it may or may or may not be relevant."

She's a fantastic girl and we're totally in love but I don't want to talk about it because by the time this magazine hits the stands, we might be broken up.

What is this guy, 12 years old? Nevermind, just another closeted gay man learning his way around his prison.

Efron: 'I Was A Nerd In School'

Zac Efron has revealed that he was a nerd in school.

The High School Musical star said he worked hard in lessons and was never considered cool like his character Troy Bolton.

He told Now: "I wasn't the skater dude or anything. I tried really hard in school. I got good grades. I was in advanced classes so, if anything, you'd probably call me a nerd.

"Seriously, I was the short kid in high school. I didn't get much attention from the chicks. I was, like, 5ft 6in tall. But as soon as I left and started working, then I started to grow up a little bit."

The 20-year-old added that his fans' parents tended to ask him for photographs on behalf of their daughters, saying: "The parents are the ones who want the pictures! The girls are too shy. I can pretty much go anywhere - I just have to wear sunglasses. But there's no way that I'd avoid my fans. I like making them happy."

High School Musical 3 is currently filming in Utah.

Disney Star Hudgens Working On Adult Album

Singer/actress VANESSA HUDGENS is desperate to follow in the footsteps of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL co-stars ZAC EFRON and ASHLEY TISDALE with her upcoming album IDENTIFIED.

Hudgens, 19, who plays Efron's love-interest in real life and on-screen, hopes the solo project will catapult her career into a more adult direction - although she admits the album isn't a full departure from her Disney roots.

She says, "It's definitely more grown-up. But not to the point where I'm singing, 'I'm so hot! I'm so hot! Boys want me. I'm so hot!'"

Hudgens came under fire when nude photographs of the star were leaked online last year (Aug07).

Zac Efron's Cancer Visit

Zac Efron took time out from filming his latest movie to visit a boy dying of a rare cancer.

The 'High School Musical' star decided to surprise 13-year-old Connor Steventon - whose disease affected his body's soft cells, muscles and fat - while shooting 'Me and Orson Welles' in the Isle of Man last month.

Connor's mother had contacted Zac's management after hearing he was on the island as she knew it was her son's dying wish to meet his idol.

Tracy Steventon is quoted by Isle of Man Today (iomtoday.co.im) as saying: "About six weeks before his birthday I thought, 'He is going to be 13, what can I do that's really special?' He had everything, didn't want or need anything and was mad about 'High School Musical'.

"When I saw that Zac was coming over I knew we had to get them to meet. I thought we would have a 'High School Musical' party and asked Zac to come and surprise him.

"When Zac came to our family home, Connor's little eyes nearly fell out of his head."

Zac met Connor on March 1, but sadly Connor died just 18 days later.

Connor's mother has started the charity Connor's Causes to raise money for other terminally-ill children.

Miley! Abigail! Zac! Top Teens Take The Bank In Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

They haven’t even graduated from high school yet, but already a ton of teens are making big bucks in Hollywood.

Miley Cyrus is one of the top earning stars still in school. According to People, at just 15, she’s earned $17.5 million from her tour alone. And with her big screen release, “Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert Movie,” netting around $65 million, Miley will surely be able to afford plenty of her shopping weakness – Electra bikes, People reports.

At just 14, Angus T. Jones is already a TV veteran, having spent almost half a dozen years on “Two and a Half Men.” As a result, he reportedly takes home a hefty paycheck — $1.2 million a year, People claims.

And he’s not the only one bringing in the big bucks. Tyler James Williams, 15, from “Everybody Hates Chris,” reportedly also makes the same amount.

In the movie world, Abigail Breslin, 12, and Dakota Fanning, 14, earn salaries in the millions for each film they appear in.

Breslin reportedly cashes checks for $2 million a picture, while Dakota can take up to $4 million a project. But, People reports that neither girl has lavish spending practices. Abigail earns just $11 in allowance each week, while Dakota gets no allowance at all.

As for the older stars – as in just old enough to have graduated high school — Daniel Radcliffe, 18, is a top earner.

People reports that he’s expected to earn $50 million for the final “Harry Potter” films, while his co-stars, Emma Watson, 18, will bank $4 million, the same figure 19-year-old Rupert Grint is expected to fetch.

R&B star Chris Brown, 18, dances away with about $18.2 million a year.

Over in TV land, Hayden Panettiere, also 18, nets around $30,000 per episode of “Heroes,” but her product endorsements kick her end of year total up to around $5 million.

And Zac Efron, at just 19, will reportedly take in $3 million for “High School Musical 3.”

Oct 18, 2008 AT 09:14 am

imnotobsessed.com

Can you IMAGINE? Zac Efron is about to make $10 million dollars. $10 MILLION DOLLARS for accepting a role in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie! Disney bosses want to groom Efron to eventually replace Johnny Depp as the star of the franchise, and they are offering him $10 million to star alongside Captain Jack Sparrow in the next installment of the blockbuster film series.

"Disney knew that Zac was reulctant to do any more High School Musical movies. He had already said there was ‘no way’ he’d return as Troy. So the Disney brass came up with an offer he couldn’t refuse."

From Star Magazine, as reported by Celebitchy:

"Q: Do you Google yourself?

Efron: Yeah, I do. I like to read the blogs. I love the discussions online. They’re hilarious. I try not to look that often, because it can either give you a big head or tear you down."

So, Zac, we know you're probably reading this. And trust me, we will all stand up and cheer when you come out of the closet. Seriously, dude! You might lose a few fans, but you'll gain a ton of respect, too!

Vanessa says Zac Efron is a good kisser

She also told Ellen that he sometimes drinks raw eggs for breakfast

Access Hollywood

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron made two “High School Musical” movies without kissing, but in the third installment of the Disney franchise, their characters, Troy and Gabriella, finally have their first kiss — and Hudgens, who is also Efron’s real life girlfriend, said the 21-year-old actor is no slouch when it comes to the smooch.

During an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” that aired on Friday, DeGeneres asked Hudgens the question millions of “HSM” fans wish they knew the answer to.

“He’s a good kisser, I assume?” DeGeneres asked.

Hudgens attempted to stay mum on the subject, but DeGeneres was not about to let her dodge the kiss question.

“Well, you’ve got to say yes!” DeGeneres continued.

“OK, yes, fine,” Hudgens smiled.

“You can’t not answer that question!” DeGeneres told the “HSM” star.

In addition to Efron’s smooching skills, Hudgens revealed Efron’s affinity for certain raw food.

“What does he like for breakfast? Is he a cereal guy?” DeGeneres asked.

“More of an eggs kind of guy,” Hudgens said. “If he’s feeling lazy, he just drinks them.”

DeGeneres questioned if drinking raw eggs was safe.

“Not most of the time, but every now and then,” Hudgens added.

DeGeneres also got to the bottom of another burning Efron question — which Efron hairstyle is best?

“Do you like his hair kind of gelled back or kind of on the side with bangs?” she asked Hudgens, adding, “I kind of like it side bangs just kind of lose.”

“Like yours right now?” Hudgens said.

“Yeah, I want anything that looks like me,” DeGeneres said with a laugh. “I like it just floppy bangs.”

Hudgens on the other hand likes Efron’s new gelled look.

“I like (Zac’s hair) back,” Hudgens said.

“With a lot of gel and stuff in it? Doesn’t it feel icky in your hands?” DeGeneres wondered.

“It’s kind of solid,” Hudgens told DeGeneres.

“High School Musical 3: Senior Year” opens in theaters everywhere Oct. 24.

Efron Wants to Travel The World Unnoticed

Zac Efron wants to travel the world unnoticed.

The actor - who shot to fame starring in Disney's tween movie franchise High School Musical - is desperate to take some time out from his fledgling career, but fears his fans wouldn't give him a moment's peace.

"Sure, I'd love to take a year off and travel the world under the radar," Efron tells British newspaper The Sun. "I would love to do it really low key.

"I wouldn't need to stay in fancy hotels or anything; I just want to explore - but I don't know how I'd do it.

"Would I shave my head to try and go incognito? Ha ha! I'm not telling."
