Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves are expecting a child, the actor announced Tuesday on his Web site.

 

"My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together," McConaughey writes. "It's 3 months growin in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far. We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life."

 

McConaughey adds: "Wish us the best, keep us in your prayers, and God bless evolution. Thanks for being fans of me and my work and now this new and miraculous chapter in my life, as me and Camila and our child do our best to just keep living."

 

PEOPLE's "Sexiest Man Alive" from 2005 signs his message, "Wow, McConaughey."

 

McConaughey, 38, met Alves, 24, a Brazilian model whose family moved to L.A. when she was young, more than a year ago. Since then, they have been together constantly – and often in the Ocean – riding the waves last year from Australia, where he filmed Fool's Gold, to the Bahamas, where he shot the comedy Surfer Dude.

 

"He is euphoric. He couldn't be happier," says his rep Alan Nierob.

 

Longtime McConaughey pal Mark Gustawes, who is producing Surfer Dude, says the couple are "incredibly happy."

 

"I can only hope that one day the love I have with the woman carrying my child is equivalent to the love Matthew and Camila share," says Gustawes. "That's a tall bar. In my opinion, the child will be raised with more love than it knows what to do with."

Matthew McConaughey plans to embrace the chunk for his next movie role. While his lady's belly gets big, so will Matt's. T-Rex Matt will play an over-the-hill bar brawler in new movie The Grackle. Matt said he will have to let his usual work-out routine go, so he can put on a few pounds.

 

He said, "My character... needs to be bull strong but meaty. Watching it happen will be fun. There should be some funny stories in the tabloids because I'll still have to go out and get my belly tan."

McConaughey Confesses to Hudson Crush

 

 

Matthew McConaughey would have made a move on co-star Kate Hudson if she wasn't married when the couple made "How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days."

 

The movie hunk was quizzed about his feelings for Hudson by the actress herself during a recent TV interview to promote the pair's new film, "Fool's Gold," and he confessed he had a crush on her while they were making the 2003 romantic comedy.

 

Hudson asked, "Do you think if I hadn't been married (to Chris Robinson) on 'How To Lose a Guy,' you'd have gone in for the kill?"

 

A visibly stunned McConaughey paused before confessing, "If we were both single back then, sure."

 

Hudson admits she and McConaughey often behave like a married couple when they're working together.

 

She adds, "We can tell each other when we can't stand each other. I can run and grab him and go, 'I love you so much' and then I could tell him he's driving me crazy."

Matthew McConaughey has been around NYC promoting that "Foolio's Gold" shit and he's looking so clean. He looks like he actually bathed a few times. I don't like it. Matthew McConaughey is being all sexy for this Dolce & Gabbana commercial for their new fragrance and few things are more precious than his little smile at the end of the commercial, where he's supposed to be surprised to find that the paparazzi followed him into his living room, where he's lounging shirtless and enjoying some television, as if to say, "Did y'all really just take a picture of me shirtless? Quelle surprise!"

Matthew McConaughey's shirtless antics have not been for naught. The well-toned actor has received some esteemed recognition from a journalistic entity for his efforts. Matthew was named by In Touch Weekly as their number one pick for their list of "Hollywood's Hottest Chests." He was followed by David Beckham, Hugh Jackman, Jesse Metcalfe and Andy Baldwin. And I don't really pay too much attention to those last two, but I have to heartily agree with the addition of Hugh and David to that list.

Matthew McConaughey is ready to be a father now that he's whittled down his life to what matters most. "A year ago, I got my life down to one big backpack. I just did a big spring cleaning and said, 'What do you really need, McConaughey?' I attacked the little things that don't matter."
