They are inspiring and always doing different, interesting things so I remember how to be a person by being around them.” If thats what she said & she wasn't misquoted, my opinion of her just went down! "I don't want to ever be working just for money because then you are no different than a prostitute," says PortmanThat is the actual quote from the paper. The interview is a very good one with her. I think Ms Wells is deliberately interpreting her comment out of context. I get the impression what she means is that she doesn't just want to work for money and it be just ABOUT money, like the life of a prostitute is. That she wants to work for fun and for what she can learn from the roles. She's talking metaphorically. She wants a better experience than her work just being about money. Nowhere does she mention any actress or anyone else. Read the article, you'll see. So the quote from Ms Wells (who's notorious for getting her facts muddled up and misinterpreting) that she says 'many' - she doesn't. She doesn't mention the word 'many'. Sadly, her comment has left her open to attack by people like this who've read it as an attack on all other actresses. It's also worth noting that when most people talk of 'you' they're often talking of themselves. Be wary of what you read as quotes from other quotes because they're almost always embellished. The actress will be seen completely naked during torture scenes in the the historical drama Goya's Ghosts, which focuses on revered artist Francisco Goya. Portman plays Goya's muse, Alicia, who becomes embroiled in a scandal after she is accused of being a heretic by a monk. It is not the first time Portman has stripped off for a movie role. She previously exposed her body in the complex romantic drama Closer, which also starred Jude Law, Julia Roberts and Clive Owen, but the explicit scenes were eventually cut. The 24-year-old actress, who appeared in the three Star Wars' prequels, has previously admitted she is uncomfortable being a sex symbol because of her role in 'Leon'. Portman shot to fame aged just 12 years old by playing a young Lolita-esque orphan who befriends a hardened assassin in the critically acclaimed 1994 movie. Although the role won her universal acclaim, the actress admits she found it disturbing that some men lusted after her - even though she was a child. "I had a bad experience when Leon first came out. According to Hollywood.com, Karen Allen who played Indie’s love interest Marion Ravenwood in ‘Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc’ accidentally let it slip that Portman was a contender. After a screening of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Allen said: "I just heard Natalie Portman was cast as Indy's daughter." In fact, Portman seems to be so annoyed, that tonight on Access Hollywood, Natalie Portman's spokesperson set the record straight, and revealed that, in fact, the nude torture scene is performed by a nude body double, and not Natalie at all. "It is a Body Double, and the double is in profile and shadow. You see nothing." So there you have it. You can go cry in the corner now. You won't be the only one. She was fabulous in Closer and nudity wasn't required in that film because it was mainly about the dialogue of the characters. But I can see where she was coming from. I saw Closer on opening day and there was a whole gaggle of teenage boys hoping to catch a glimpse of some boobage. Needless to say, they didn't care for that movie at all. Needless to say, they didn't care for that movie at all.Disagree...Slightly..The gaggle of boys didn't help her get an oscar nomination(since the academy has a gaggle of old farts) and Closer was somewhat of an arthouse hit, how many gaggles of boys made that possible? She was semi-nude in that movie..and they cut out the sex scenes...she knew initially the character would call for nudity. That's where I think she's a bonehead...you take a stripper role...and you know there will be some nudity, and she did it...but made the director cut it. Most character actors I know, know that some roles do demand nudity(I think she knows that to otherwise wouldn't have accepted Closer). I just think she's insane..but hey, it's her world. If you’ve never boycotted a movie, go ahead and feel free to do so with this movie. That will teach those Hollywood types to not toy with our emotions. Fuckers. If she's against nude scenes why even film them in the first place, and make a big stink about them? I aqree, she doesn't necessarily need them for her career, but nudity is a part of acting...and she's being uptight.Don't also forget that some roles do call for an actress to get nude(Gia, Monster's Ball, Dorothy Dandridge, Nell, Silence of the Lambs...examples of some, but many others). She was playing a stripper, so if she wasn't cool with nudity she should've passed on the role and let it be given to someone who understood the role and wouldn't flip out.
