Hilary Swank

Like I said, the In Style/Warner Bros. fete was hoppin’ with mostly hot celebs, from the Olsen duo to all the Desperate divas alongside Hollywood tough-ass hunks such as Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank.

Chad Lowe Talks About Divorce – and Moving On

Just a year after separating from wife Hilary Swank, Chad Lowe is moving on: He's got a new gig (as Deputy Chief of Staff Reed Pollock on FOX's 24) and a new leading lady: producer Kim Painter.

"She's a lovely person," the actor-director, 39, tells PEOPLE of Painter, 33, with whom he stepped out after the Golden Globes on Jan. 15. "It's a very new relationship."

Of course, his last relationship, with the two-time Oscar-winning Swank, was higher-profile, and some observers wondered whether her skyrocketing career hurt their marriage.

But Lowe says that's not true. "I was always proud of her achievements," he says. "It's true that I was less than inspired by the opportunities coming my way as an actor. But that in no way negated my support or admiration for all she's accomplished."

The couple separated after eight years of marriage, and announced in May they were divorcing. "It takes two people to keep a marriage strong," Lowe says, "but if one isn't willing to do the work then it's difficult to continue growing together."

In July, Swank told Vanity Fair that Lowe's substance abuse prevented them from being "completely solid."

"I was disappointed with her decision to go public with my sobriety," says Lowe. "But I don't deny that I had a problem and that it strained our relationship. Was this the reason it ended? No. I've been sober for nearly four years and have never felt better. (I'm) forever grateful to Hilary for her support."

Now, though, he's focused on his 24 role, which he calls "thrilling," and his relationship with Painter. "(We're) taking it very slow," he says, "and are just enjoying each other's company."

I always thought of Rob Lowe as the "good looking brother," but I saw Chad on Larry King last week, and he was so classy and professional and suddenly, for some reason, he's HOT now. :P Is it just me?

I prefer talentless skank. Go blab some more about your husband's personal life you dumb bitch. I can't wait to see you in your next white trash role where you get punched in the face and win your third Oscar. Edited by Babloo328

New Love, Job Got Chad Lowe Through 'Dark Period'

By Scott Huver

A new job on 24 and a new love have helped Chad Lowe put an unhappy chapter in his life – one that included the end of his marriage to Hilary Swank – behind him, he says.

"I was coming out of a very dark period, and it renews your faith," Lowe told PEOPLE Wednesday at a party he hosted in Culver City, Calif., for Kerry Max Cook's book Chasing Justice: My Story of Freeing Myself After Two Decades on Death Row For a Crime I Didn't Commit.

(The actor played Cook, a former Texas death-row inmate whose innocence was proven after 22 years in prison, on stage in the play The Exonerated in 2003.)

Lowe, 39, credits his happiness to both his new relationship with producer Kim Painter, 33, and his regular role as slimy political operative Reed Palmer on the hit FOX drama.

"Winston Churchill, I think, said 'The only way to get through hell is to keep going,' and I think there have been some nice rewards at the end of a very dark period for me," Lowe said. "The new relationship, a new job – that really fulfills me in a way I can't articulate."

He's especially grateful for the opportunity to act again. "This role has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. It came at a time when I needed it, badly. I needed to have work to focus on, and what a great character and a great show to be focusing my attention toward."

Lowe was also thrilled to be giving back to Cook, whom he has gotten to know closely. With Painter at his side, Lowe welcomed Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Richard Dreyfus and Cary Elwes, who've also portrayed the author and befriended him.

"They stayed in contact with me and wanted to know about me and how I was doing and what life was like for me," Cook told PEOPLE of his friendship with Lowe and the other stars. "Those are the ones that cared about what happened to me and cared about my story, so I became good friends with some of them."

And while Lowe said he could never compare his own experiences to Cook's, he understands how someone can emerge stronger after being tested by hard times.

"We all have challenges in life, and it takes a dark night to bring out the stars," he said. "I try to take as much as I can from life, whatever experience it is."

I am totally rooting for this guy and hope the next ten movies Swank the horse face makes fail miserably. She is a witch, and Chad is lucky to be rid of that waste of skin.

Now, there's a lot of hate going against Ms. Swank and for the most part it's deserved. I adored her in Boy's Don't Cry and found her to be competent in Million Dollar Baby. But, to ignore four other more deserving performances to reward a woman who basically uglied herself up to win an award (and started the trend for Best Actress) is egregious. Perhaps it's more the Academy's fault than hers. Her winning acceptance speeches don't help her case for me: "I'm just a little girl from a trailer park." It's similar to the nonsense Reese Witherspoon babbled about: "I'm just a little girl from Tennessee." Is it any wonder I hate both of them? Edited by Babloo328

I couldn't stand her back in 90210, and I don't like her now. Something about her that irritates me.

Heh. I know exactly what you mean. ;)

The fact that she's won two Oscars, when actresses like Kate Winslet haven't won any, really annoys me.

Movie star HILARY SWANK is so surprised by her Hollywood success she expects her "surreal" lifestyle to be taken away from her at any moment. The Oscar winner still finds it sobering when socialising with famous actors, reports website Moviehole.net. Swank says, "I never went in this business for the acclaim of it, or the dressing up part of it. I love people and stories, so all that is a side-effect that happened and still blows my mind. "Seriously, I walk by, and I see them, and I think I am in the wrong house. I go to these shows and I keep thinking, 'Who is going to come and pull me out,' because I don't know if I belong here, because it feels like me. It is just Hilary from this little town. I am like, 'How did this happen?' "Seriously, because all these people you look at around you inspire you. You watch your whole life in movies - to be nominated with Meryl Streep? I've watched Meryl Streep my whole life. It just feels very surreal - I guess that is the best way to put it."

Oscar-winning actress HILARY SWANK has no regrets about taking less-than-stellar bit parts after moving to Hollywood in the 1990s, because they taught her everything she knows. The 32-year-old eagerly accepted every role that came her way, including a brief part on TV show Beverly Hills, 90210. She tells Moviehole.net, "I never knocked a job and I took any job I could get, especially in the beginning and was never a snob about it - I still aren't. "But you look at a lot of people's careers - everyone kind of did that. You take a job where you can for a couple of reasons. One, you need to live, and you don't want to just be a waiter, but you want to make some money, but more importantly, I never knocked an opportunity to learn, and there was so much to learn. "Every bad movie of the week, every bad TV show, anything that I did, was preparing me for, hopefully, an opportunity that I was going to have. You know that great saying - the definition of luck is when preparation meets with opportunity."

Toothy Tale

HILARY Swank has landed a role she can sink her teeth into, or vice versa. The Oscar winner actually will play the heroine being hunted by vampires in the movie version of the John Marks novel "Fangland." Swank's production company optioned the book by the former "60 Minutes" producer. It is set at a TV news magazine called "The Hour," where bloodthirsty vampires roam the halls. The "Dracula" meets "Network" tale is said to reflect the sometimes hellish environment of the real "60 Minutes."

Perry, Swank in 'Motion' with indie comedy

Matthew Perry and Hilary Swank are set to star in "Laws of Motion," an indie comedy scheduled to begin production this month.

Perry plays a husband struggling with life in a repressive career and community, and with headaches caused by his free-spirited brother and sister. Swank will take on a supporting role as the all-too-perfect neighbor of Perry's harried character. She will also serve as a producer.

Ben Foster ("Six Feet Under") is in negotiations to play the brother.

Perry, best known for starring in TV's "Friends," saw his most recent film, "Numb," premiere at the recent Tribeca Film Festival. He received both a Golden Globe and SAG Award nomination for his role in TNT's "The Ron Clark Story."

Swank's recent credits include Paramount Pictures' "Freedom Writers" and Warner Bros.' "The Reaping."

She certainly is in shape, but that suit looks odd on her. For one thing, it needs straps. But it's like she's trying to be girly. So that begs the question - is she gay? She's always pinged for me.

^ exactly and she also does not seem nice. TO ME any woman that starts dating a man when the ink on his divorce is not dry is NOT a nice person.. Always raises an eyebrow or two.

She doesn't have one feminine bone in her very toned body. She is the least sexy "star" I have ever seen....AND she was a total SKUNK to her ex. I think it was in the worst possible form to come out and talk about his "former problem". I will never like her after that. It is like someone telling me about drinking when I have been sober for twenty years. That little worm she's with is in it only for the fame...look at his face when he's walking with her...he looks pained, and he probably has to think about root canals to bring him up enough to have sex with her. -_-

Don't Pose With Demi

http://www.dlisted.com/

Hilary Swank made the mistake of posing next to Demi Moore at the Miss Sixty show today in NYC. Beauty and the Beast! Seriously. I don't know what's going on with Demi Moore, but bitch is glowing. She can't act worth shit, but who cares when you look that hot. She made a pact with the devil, I swear.

Below are Maggie GyllenHAG, Hilary and Demi. You know Demi's telling Hilary, "Did you see GyllenHAG's lingerie photos? She's even fuglier than you! IMAGINE THAT!"
