Brawl out boy Pete Wentz & Ashlee's dad deliver hits at club

Celebrities turned on their protectors Sunday when Ashlee Simpson's dad, Joe, and her rocker boyfriend, Pete Wentz, teamed up to defend the pop songstress against a Vegas bodyguard.

The fist-fest erupted as the Simpsons and Wentz were trying to leave the Decaydance/GQ party at the Mirage's Jet nightspot.

Bouncers were willing to let Ashlee, Joe and Pete through — but they blocked the Simpson entourage, which included the Gym Class Heroes MC, Marc DeJesus.

"What are you doing?" yelled Wentz, demanding that his crew be escorted to a waiting SUV. "This is my [bleeping] car! I paid for this [bleeping] car!"

Tempers rose, and, before long, a security guard shoved Wentz, knocking Ashlee against a wall.

We watched as Wentz rushed to her aid. The Fall Out Boy bassist rained punches on the much-taller door sentries. Papa Joe also dove into the chaos.

"When somebody messes with my baby, then it's over!" Joe told us later, drawing his finger across his throat.

Happily, the sound and fury didn't result in any serious injuries, and the Simpson-Wentz group managed to leave.

Outside, Wentz stomped around and spat on the wall of the club. "[bleep] this place!" he screeched, vowing never to set foot inside again. (A Jet rep had no immediate comment.)

One fan tried to snap a picture of Simpson and Wentz after the melee, prompting Ashlee to lunge for the guy's camera. Wentz quickly grabbed her around the waist.

Joe, whose starlet offspring Jessica wasn't present, suggested that the bouncers are "just mad they make $12 an hour."

Yeah, let them get multi-millionaire daughters of their own!

I'm Sure You Were "There" For Her

Joe Simpson talked to FoxNews about why his little plastic dumplings, Chestica and Asshole, aren't like Britney, Lindsay and the others.

He said, "We have a real family. You can’t just put these kids out in the world and they’re on their own. I can remember a time when Jessica was singing at Madison Square Garden and her outfit ripped before she went on. We were there for her."

Um....Papa Joe probably weakened the thread so her dress would rip. I'm sure he was there for her. By "we" he means his fingers.

He also confirmed that Chestica's next album will be country music.

"Willie Nelson really likes her," he said. "We’re going to go down there and really get into it."

Get into it?! A threesome?! OH HELL NO. I gotta go wash out my eyes with bleach. I just didn't read that.

Joe Simpson Confirms Ashlee’s Nose Job

After more than a year of coy answers from Ashlee Simpson regarding her May 2006 nose job, her father Joe has finally confirmed that his daughter went under the knife.

In an interview with Fox News, Joe says he had no control over Ashlee’s decision to undergo rhinoplasty.

"Girls have their own ideas," he shrugged. "Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured."

Joe, who also serves as manager to Ashlee, 22, and her sister Jessica, 27, credits good parenting as the reason his daughters haven’t gone the way of Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears.

"We have a real family," he said. "You can’t just put these kids out in the world and they’re on their own. I can remember a time when Jessica was singing at Madison Square Garden and her outfit ripped before she went on. We were there for her."

And then there was Ashlee’s Saturday Night Live debacle.

"She’d lost her voice, and Jordan Schur [then the head of her record label] insisted she lip-synch," he said. "She’d never done it before. She didn’t want to do it. Anyway, she’ll never do it again. We just did a huge tour, and there was no lip-synching."

The former Baptist minister also denies claims that he’s a controlling father. "I don’t tell my girls who to date or marry or what to do."

He also has no hard feelings against former son-in-law Nick Lachey.

"I have nothing against Nick," he told me. "But they got married very young. I told Jessica, 'You’re going to hit an age when it’s all going to be clear to you — life that is — and you’ll know what you want to do.'"

Joe added: "I do blame 50 percent of their break-up on the media."

The Ashlee and Jessica Simpson Duet?

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson are set to duet, after Ashlee revealed they are currently writing songs together.

The sisters - who have each forged their own successful solo careers - have been writing songs together for years and are now considering teaming up in the recording studio.

Ashlee told E! Online: "We write well together. I can't say never, but she's definitely got her own style, and I have my own style. But who knows?"

The 'Pieces of Me' singer also lent her support to troubled singer Britney Spears, who has faced a barrage of criticism following her disastrous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month.

Ashlee - who was caught miming on her 'live' performance on 'Saturday Night Live' in 2004 - said: "To tell you the truth, I have not seen the performance. I was actually sitting upstairs, so I can't say anything on it-but I wish her the best.

"I think we all have our ups and our downs, and you have got to look for the positive side of things."

Ashlee and boyfriend Pete Wentz are reportedly engaged. The Fall Out Boy rocker is said to have proposed after his Live Earth performance in New Jersey in July.

Ashlee Simpson’s Face Injected with Collagen

Ashlee Simpson has regular injections in her face to keep her looking young,

it has been claimed.

The 23-year-old singer - whose father Joe recently confirmed she had

rhinoplasty to reshape her nose and help her breathing in April 2006 -

visits her plastic surgeon Dr. Raj Kanodia every month to have collagen

filler injected into her face, according to In Touch Weekly magazine.

A source close to the singer said: "She is determined to stay looking as

young as possible for as long as possible. The fillers get rid of any

wrinkles, and keep her face looking young, taut and smooth."

Ashlee has always refused to comment on her nose job, but previously

revealed she doesn't think there is anything wrong with plastic surgery.

She said: "I don't get bothered by people saying what they say. I'm a happy

person and I'm happy with my looks. I'm not an insecure person.

"I believe if somebody chooses plastic surgery it should be for themselves,

not for anyone else."

Killing The 80s

http://www.dlisted.com/

Ashlee Simpson had a birthday party a couple of weeks ago and it was 80s themed. You know it actually looks semi-cute and semi-fun, but coming from these twats it looks like a house of annoying. Pete Wentz looks stoned as hell! He's looking at me like I'm a french fry pie!

I will say that Jessica Simpson looks hot. Bitch should keep that looks. 80s hair is definitely the way to go. The higher, the better.

Ashlee Simpson Uses Botox

Posted Image

In Touch Weekly is claiming that Ashlee Simpson, 23, gets monthly botox injections in her forehead. In 2006, Simpson had plastic surgery to fix her nose. Dr. Jennifer Levine says:

When someone is smiling, certainly when they are smiling genuinely, you would expect a slight crinkle around the eyes, which I don't see...So I would have to expect that she has had some Botox to that area."

Surprisingly, Simpson's spokesperson denies this:

"Ashlee has never had Botox in her life. She credits her eyebrows to her makeup artist who is a whiz with the tweezer."

Yeah, I'm sure that's it. Tweezers. Tweezers and a gallon of virgin blood. Because unless her makeup artist is Harry Potter, I'm going to go ahead and say Botox. Last time I checked, tweezers don't make your forehead look like it just got ironed.

Bogus. You don't do it monthly. It lasts from 3-6 months. Seriously, you'd think they'd pay these morons to at least do their research.

Frozen in time: Botox over the years

From bad sausage to brow raiser, a poisonous path to pretty

By Diane Mapes

MSNBC contributor

Ashlee Simpson is getting “Botox at 23!” an In Touch Weekly headline screams. BFFs are vying for a chance to win a trip to New York — complete with a wrinkle-treatment consult — the grand prize in “The Botox Cosmetic Ultimate Girlfriend's Weekend Getaway” sweepstakes. Casting directors are complaining that “robotoxed” actors are no longer able to lower their eyebrows.

Have we all gone insane? How did we get to the point where celebrities actually require emoticons to frown?

It’s been 15 years since researchers first intimated we could eliminate those eye crinkles and forehead wrinkles by injecting ourselves with botulinum toxin and just five years since this beautifying little bee sting received its official government OK.

But the wrinkle-smoothing wonder that is Botox Cosmetic didn’t just spring forth like Athena leaping from Zeus’ ultra-smooth forehead. No, the “little neurotoxin that could,” as USA Today dubbed it in 2003, has a long, illustrious, and surprisingly lively history, particularly considering that whole immobilized muscle thing. Herewith, a few frozen moments in the Botox timeline:

The 1820s — The “wurstgift”

No one really understood the biological basis for food poisoning until Dr. Justinus Kerner began to study a batch of improperly prepared blood sausages responsible for the death of several dozen Germans. Kerner posited that there was something in the spoiled sausages that brought on the disease, something he called “wurstgift” (German for sausage poison).

Ever the dedicated scientist, Kerner even went so far as to inject himself with some of the stuff, but luckily, he didn’t transform himself into a monster like in those 1950s horror films (although he may have felt like it — botulism is pretty nasty business). Instead, his experiments and case studies led to a better understanding of the neurological symptoms of food-borne botulism (drooping eyelids, difficulty swallowing, muscle weakness, and if left untreated, paralysis and respiratory failure). He also offered up suggestions for treatment and prevention of food poisoning, and paved the way for today’s therapeutic use of the toxin.

The 1890s — Deadly funeral

More than 70 years after Kerner conducted his experiments, Dr. Emile Pierre van Ermengem of Belgium was asked to investigate an outbreak of botulism following a funeral dinner where three people died and 23 were paralyzed. (Apparently, somebody brought a bad ham.)

Van Ermengem, who had studied under Dr. Robert Koch (the guy who discovered the bacterial causes of anthrax, tuberculosis and cholera), was able to make a connection between botulism and a spore-forming bacterium he named Bacillus botulinus (it was later renamed Clostridium botulinum). A raft of studies followed and seven strains of botulinum toxin were eventually identified (A through G); four of them (A, B, E and F) would be shown to cause illness in humans.

The 1940s — Toxic temptresses

With the outbreak of World War II, the U.S. began researching biological weapons, including botulinum toxin (the nerve toxin produced by Clostridium botulinum), considered to be deadliest substance in the world. One plan, according to a 2004 article in Clinical Medicine (The Journal of the Royal College of Physicians of London), was to have Chinese prostitutes slip tiny toxic pills into the food and/or drink of high-ranking Japanese officers. According to the authors, a batch of gelatin capsules filled with botulinum toxin was produced, but the project was abandoned before the poison pills could be put into action.

The '50s and ’60s — Beneficial botulinum?

With the war over, researchers began focusing on the more beneficial aspects of this powerful toxin, particularly after Dr. Edward J. Schantz and his colleagues were able to purify botulinum toxin type A into crystalline form. In 1953, physiologist Dr. Vernon Brooks discovered that injecting small amounts into a hyperactive muscle blocked the release of acetylcholine from motor nerve endings, causing temporary “relaxation.” In the 1960s, ophthalmologist Dr. Alan B. Scott started injecting botulinum toxin type A into monkeys, theorizing its muscle-relaxing effects might help in the treatment of crossed eyes (or strabismus). Before long, botulinum toxin type A became the go-to toxin in research labs around the world (despite fears about its use in “germ warfare”).

The '70s and ’80s — The birth of Botox

In 1978, Scott received FDA approval to inject tiny amounts of botulinum toxin into human volunteers and soon, the results started rolling in. In the early 1980s, the eye doctor published a number of studies including a 1981 paper in the Transactions of the American Ophthalmological Society that asserted botulinum toxin “appears to be a safe and useful therapy for strabismus.” Additional research showed the drug’s benefits went beyond ophthalmology, providing patients with temporary relief from facial spasms, neck and shoulder spasms, even vocal cord spasms. In 1988, drugmaker Allergan acquired the rights to distribute Scott’s batch of botulinum toxin type A (or Oculinum, as it was then known) and a year later, the FDA approved botulinum toxin type A for the treatment of both strabismus and blepharospasm (spasms of the eyelid muscle). Shortly thereafter, Allergan acquired Scott’s company and changed the drug’s name to the compact, catchy “Botox.”

The 1990s — Botox is the new black

As research continued, other potential uses came to light. Bladder spasms, writer's cramp, excessive sweating, even cerebral palsy in kids all were alleviated — at least for a short time — by injections of the neurotoxin. But by far the most earth-shattering discovery came about by accident when Canadian ophthalmologist Dr. Jean Carruthers noticed her blepharospasm patients were starting to lose their frown lines. In 1992, she and her dermatologist husband published a study in the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology stating that though temporary, “treatment with C. botulinum-A exotoxin is a simple, safe procedure” for the treatment of brow wrinkles. Dermatologists from Hollywood to Hoboken immediately took note (and took advantage of this “off-label” use) and by 1997, Botox use spiked so high the country’s supply temporary ran out, causing panic among its devotees and prompting the New York Times to announce “Drought Over, Botox Is Back” once a new batch received FDA approval.

2000 and beyond – The good, the bad and the ubiquitous

With the new millennium, FDA approvals continued to roll in. In 2000, Botox got the FDA’s nod for the treatment of cervical dystonia (neck and shoulder spasms); in 2002, Botox Cosmetic (the frown-line fixer) got its official government go-ahead, greenlighting Allergan to begin a multi-million-dollar marketing campaign to boost its already healthy Botox sales, which had reached $310 million by the end of 2001.

Fast forward a year and the drug had been profiled in nearly 14,000 TV and print stories (in the U.S. alone), end-of-year sales had reached nearly $440 million and Allergan had proclaimed Botox Cosmetic one of the most successful pharmaceutical brand launches in the company’s 53-year-history. In 2004, Allergan received yet another FDA approval, this time for the treatment of severe underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis), but for most people, the therapeutic uses of this nimble neurotoxin were just icing on a pretty, well-preserved cake.

Before long, Botox began to show up at gyms, malls, spas, even cocktail parties; it became a staple of TV makeover shows, a suitable birthday gift for friends and family (especially new moms!), and the beauty secret of both presidential hopefuls and Poughkeepsie housewives. Not surprisingly, its popularity (and high price tag) inspired a number of knockoffs and bargain basement “faux-tox” became a favorite of scam artists and pseudo-medical websites.

By the end of 2006, Botox sales had soared past the $1 billion mark, with cosmetic uses accounting for about half of sales.

But as this wrinkle cure has continued to shoot up in popularity (it’s the No. 1 non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the country), a Botox backlash is also brewing.

The pretty poison has been used as a method of torture in "Nip/Tuck" and a murder weapon on "Law and Order: Criminal Intent." It’s been the subject of at least one addiction study and its misuse and/or overuse has brought new meaning to the words “poker face” and “joker face” and raised concerns about the training and/or technique of the folks who are doling out shots at malls and medi-spas. Even Ashlee Simpson has turned her back on it (Me, use Botox? No way!).

It’s revered, it’s reviled and it’s made us all just a little afraid of Joan Rivers. Yet, despite the occasional side effects (droopy eyelids, slopey eyebrows) and those countless frozen-faced stars, you have to admit — Botox is one remarkable little pinch of sausage poison.

Ashlee Simpson Mothers Injured Pete Wentz

Pete Wentz is getting some loving care from girlfriend Ashlee Simpson as he nurses his broken foot back to health.

"When I'm being hard-headed and I don't want to elevate it, she says, 'No, put it on the pillow!" he told PEOPLE at his bar, Angels and Kings, in New York's East Village. "When I try to get in the shower by myself and am going to end up falling on the hotel room floor, she's good at stopping me."

And while Wentz, 28, judged the "Vive le Karaoke" contest, sponsored by Hilfiger Denim and Nylon Magazine, he lamented his choice in foot braces – a black "rocker boot."

"I jumped off a ten-foot stack [of speakers] ... and I broke my foot," the Fall Out Boy bassist explained. Doctors told him he could either wear a "rocker boot" for six weeks or a "hard cast for three weeks."

"The rocker boot sounded really enticing," Wentz admitted, "But I didn't realize that it does not rock at all."

During the competition, Wentz gave celebrity photographer Jamie McCarthy high marks for his karaoke – 8 out of 10 for his "rock moves" and for "not using the photos where I look like I have a fat face."

He also mentioned that in Japan, where he first "embraced karaoke," he performed Metallica and Bon Jovi. "People go into it with no ego there. When somebody comes in and is really good, it is kind of a bummer. If you're crummy, just go for it," said Wentz. Simpson – by his side all night – chimed in that, if she were to take the stage, she would perform "Janis Joplin."

Not Desisting

ROCKER Pete Wentz has sent a cease-and-desist request to heavy metal band Neurosonic over their new song that bashes his girlfriend Ashlee Simpson, the group's frontman, Jason Darr, said at a Knitting Factory performance Wednesday night. The tune, "So Many People," pokes fun at Simpson's horrific "Saturday Night Live" appearance, during which she was caught lip-synching and ran offstage. Darr then invited the audience to dance a "jig" along to the song, just like Simpson did before she fled the stage that night.

OK! Magazine claims Rumer Willis and Ashlee Simpson are new best friends even though Rumer used to date Pete Wentz. Yup, Pete has weird taste. Obviously, he gets off on chins. Ash and Rumer were recently seen together at Central in Los Angeles.

“They danced together the whole time. If there was any jealousy over Pete, it’s certainly gone. They seemed like best friends.”

Hopefully, Ash was giving Rumer some plastic surgery advice. Although, I'm not sure plastic surgeons can shrink heads.

Wentz Denies He Is Banned From Simpsons' Christmas Dinner

Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz has dismissed reports he has been banned from joining his girlfriend Ashlee Simpson's family for Christmas, insisting the rumors are all false.

Simpson's manager father, Joe, was alleged to be displeased with his daughter's romance with the bassist and refused to have him spend time at his home over the holiday period.

Sources told Star magazine last week, "Joe was skeptical about the relationship from the start. ... There is a rumor that Pete tried to commit suicide, but with the news of his possible bisexuality, Joe blew his top."

But the rocker has denied any tension between him and papa Simpson.

In an e-mail to MTV.com, he says, "I think Joe gets a really bad rap in the press. He's always been nothing but nice to me.

"He even called me to let me know he expects me to show up for Xmas. So there's no truth to that (rumor)."

You think so? I know his band is big, but I always assumed that part of her appeal to him was that he gets more press from dating her than he would from someone less famous. Kind of like the Nicole Richie/Joel Madden thing.
