Flockhart and Ford's Aides Deny Engagement News

Publicists for Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart have fired back at stories suggesting the Hollywood couple is planning to wed. Representatives for Flockhart and Ford are denying a report the couple is engaged. Europe's Grazia magazine reported that Ford proposed on April 1. Flockhart's publicist says, "They are not engaged," while a representative for Ford adds, "It's not true." But Grazia is standing by its story, claiming Ford asked Flockhart's adopted six-year-old son Liam help with the proposal. A source told the magazine, "He coached Liam to run up to Calista and give her a rehearsed message - 'Mr. Ford is going to be my daddy.' Calista just laughed but it was no joke. Harrison then told her he wanted to marry her. She's thrilled about the proposal and so is Liam." Ford and Flockhart have been dating for five years.

Surfers In Shock

HOLLYWOOD is hitting the Costa Rican coastline, and the surfers are nervous. Vince Vaughn was seen partying at the red-hot Mal Pais Surf Camp and tooling around nearby Mar Azul a few days ago. Kate Moss and Matthew McConaughey have also visited. In addition, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Sting, Giselle Bundchen and Leo DiCaprio have supposedly looked at property in the area. Residents fear the infestation could destroy the area's natural beauty with new construction. "The roads are all dirt and there's not a lot here except great surf," said one nature lover.

Back To His Old Tricks

There's the teaser poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Viagra. They could've at least tried to age Harrison Ford just a fucking bit. I'm ashamed to admit that I actually love that Indy shit.

The newest Indy flick comes out in May and also stars Shia LaDouche, Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent.

They should've went for a homerun and brought Kate Capshaw back. They could've had her butcher "Anything Goes" again.

Remind Me, Which One Is Older?

I just can't tell anymore. Calista Flockhart needs to handle her situation. She is starting to look like Howard the Duck and it's not a good look. In the name of Ally McBeal stop the surgeries Calista. However, Harrison Ford is looking pretty dapper for being almost 125-years-old or something.

Here's these two oldie olsens at the Australia.com event last night.

I gotta say ~ these two have lasted so much longer then I ever would have expected! :o

Me too. I never thought they'd last. He must be doing his wife-at-home/hoes-on-the-side thing, as usual. (I know they aren't married but that's his M.O.)

He smokes a lot of weed. Could he be the joint smoking girl grabber from that BI?

Ted actually specified that Harrison was NOT imbibing at the Oscars and that's probably one of the reasons he was grumpy ;) So no, I don't think so. Unless he waited until late in the evening and TEddy C. didn't see him/have reports from later on......

Report: Indiana Jones to Bow at Cannes Film Festival

Harrison Ford had better send his tux from the Oscars to the cleaners. The star of the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – the first Indy adventure in 19 years – is going to the Cannes Film Festival.

Despite initial rumors that the movie would open this year's annual rite of spring in the South of France – to run from May 14-25 – the movie, which also stars Shia LaBeouf and original Raiders of the Lost Ark costar Karen Allen, is due to be screened out-of-competition in Cannes, as a special festival centerpiece, on May 18, reports Variety.

The movie opens in the rest of the world on May 22.

So far, no comment confirming the booking has come from Paramount Pictures or filmmakers George Lucas or Steven Spielberg, reports Britain's Guardian newspaper.

New 'Indiana Jones' trailer a smash hit

The Associated Press

Times sure have changed in the 19 years since Harrison Ford last donned the signature fedora of thrill-seeking archaeologist Indiana Jones. The viral spread of the trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is proof of that.

The trailer for the May 22 release has drawn highly enthusiastic responses in theaters. But it may have had its biggest impact online, on a younger audience that may not think of Ford, 65, as equal to today's spry action heroes.

After premiering Feb. 14 on "Good Morning America," Lucasfilm and Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures sent the trailer to the Web, plus movie theaters and TV stations around the world. Paramount estimates the trailer was seen more than 200 million times worldwide in the first week alone.

Harry Knowles, who runs the movie fan site AintItCool.com (his official title is Head Geek), says he first saw a bootleg version of the trailer online, then the official version online, and then saw it twice in theaters.

There were cheers in the theater when the familiar theme song kicked in, Knowles said, and comments on his Web site have been positive. "People generally really, really loved the trailer," he said. "Some people think it's a little more cartoonish-looking compared to the prior (films), with him whipping the lights and swinging on them and stuff. But at the same time, it seems that everyone is extremely excited that there's a new 'Indiana Jones' film. The excitement for it is palpable. It's much more aggressively anticipated than anything else that's coming out right now."

"The trailer caught on like wildfire, around the world, in all mediums," said Gerry Rich, Paramount's president of worldwide marketing, who's targeting moviegoers "from 8 to 80. The response has been sensational and it shows what technology can do when you have material that is so appealing to audiences."

Older audiences certainly remember Indy, but that's not the prime ticket-buying demographic. Thus the aggressive online campaign, which included what Paramount says is a record 4.1 million views on the Yahoo movie site in the first week and 2.6 million on the official IndianaJones.com site, the most ever for the studio.

"It looks to be THE highly anticipated movie of the summer," said Mark Mazrimas, marketing manager for independent theater chain Classic Cinemas. However, "this hasn't been on the screen for so long, (the challenge) is capturing the youth."

The brainchild of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, the franchise kicked off with "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981, followed by "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" three summers later. "The Last Crusade" was released in 1989, boosting the worldwide box office total to $1.2 billion.

Now, with the buzz sparked, Rich — who declined to make opening weekend predictions — just wants to keep fans' attention: "The (only) negative comment from people was that they have to wait until May to see the movie."

New 'Indiana Jones' trailer gets a widget

By Gail Schiller

March 19, 2008

NEW YORK -- When a second trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" premieres online this week, it should spread as fast as the first thanks to a widget.

Paramount is counting on the small, portable applications that can be posted on blogs and social networks to maximize the exposure for its trailers. The first "Skull" trailer, released in February, has racked up millions of views.

Paramount turned to widget provider Clearspring for "Skull," which will include a contest with the release of the second trailer. The two fans who manage to distribute their "Skull" widgets most will win trips to the world premiere of the movie and the chance to be red-carpet correspondents in footage that will be streamed onto the "Skull" widgets following the premiere.

"I think the reason that studios are excited about widgets is that word-of-mouth and buzz is what Hollywood is after all the time," said Peggy Fry, senior vp sales and client services at Clearspring. "If you think about it, what a widget is, it's a digital version of word-of-mouth."

Clearspring also is creating widgets for Paramount's Mike Myers comedy "The Love Guru," which will include exclusive viral videos of Myers in character. The widgets, which launched Monday, will live on Myers' Guru Pitka MySpace page, where his character will blog about love advice, as well as on Facebook, YouTube and other social networking sites.

Amy Powell, senior vp interactive marketing at Paramount, credited Clearspring with sophisticated backend technology that allows the studio to track its widgets wherever they lived so it wouldn't have to limit its promotions to a single platform such as MySpace or Facebook.

"We pushed Clearspring to create new technological advances for us to fit our long list of requests for our out-of-the-box thinking," Powell said.

Every week Paramount will add a new viral video to the widget, for a total of about eight to 10 videos. The widgets also will include other exclusive content including a "Love Guru" trailer, clips and behind-the-scenes footage.

Paramount's first foray into the widget space with Clearspring was with J.J. Abrams' "Cloverfield," which benefited at the boxoffice from a successful online and widget campaign. The studio also has worked with Clearspring on a daily fortune cookie widget for DreamWorks Animation's upcoming "Kung Fu Panda" and a "Bee Movie" widget.

Other studios that have worked with Clearspring to promote their movies are Warner Bros. for "10,000 BC" and "Fred Claus," Sony for "Superbad," Universal for its upcoming "Leatherheads" and Fox for "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!"

Harrison Ford: Calista Best Mother in the World

After nearly 20 years, Harrison Ford is returning to the role of Indiana Jones. But at home, he's reprising a part he played earlier in his 65 years: father.

Being a parent again, the leading man tells Reader's Digest for its May issue, has "made me just a bit less self-centered."

The actor's companion since 2002, Calista Flockhart, 43, adopted the youngster in Ford's life, son Liam, in 2001.

"She's brought a child back into my home," Ford says of Flockhart. "My youngest, other than Liam, is 17. It's a wonderful opportunity to be part of a child's growing up, which is always an endless springtime. You see the blossoming and the growing and the nurturing and the payoff."

Ford, who was PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive in 1998, also has four older children – Benjamin, 40, and Willard, 39, his two sons with first wife Mary Marquard (to whom Ford was married from 1964 to 1979), and a boy and a girl with his second wife, E.T. screenwriter Melissa Mathison (to whom he was wed from 1983-2004): Malcolm, 21, and Georgia, 17.

'Best Mom in the World'

Asked what sort of mother Flockhart is, Ford replied: "The best in the world. She's a mother by choice – she adopted Liam before we met, as a single parent, which is an awesome responsibility to take. She's devoted herself to Liam and has done a really wonderful job raising him. I'm happy to now have a part of the job."

But is he different with Liam than he was with Benjamin, Willard, Malcolm and Georgia? "Naturally enough," Ford replies, "I'm a little bit more mature."

'Cowboy' Harrison Ford

Ray Winstone says Harrison Ford is a "cowboy".

The London-born actor - who stars alongside Harrison in 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' - dismissed reports the 65-year-old star is too old for the action-packed role.

He said: "Harrison is a boy! He was an absolute ball. He can hit that dot on the door, about 20ft away, with his whip. He can drive the car like a stuntman and he can act. He's basically a cowboy!"

Ray - who plays Indiana's best friend Mac in the franchise's fourth film - also revealed he only agreed to appear in the movie when director Steven Spielberg promised he would have a big part.

He added: "I wouldn't have done this film for a bit part. I said to Spielberg, 'I don't want to just be along for the ride. I want to bring something to it.' I'm too old in the tooth to just show my face.

"I'm never going to be a big Hollywood star, but if I'm going to be in an 'Indiana Jones' movie, I want to be a big part of the story. Also, I wanted to do a film that my six-year-old can watch!"

Harrison Ford Got Ear Pierced After a "Drunken Lunch With Jimmy Buffett"

Monday April 21, 2008

What prompted Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford to get his ear pierced?

"A semi-drunken lunch with [late 60 Minutes correspondent] Ed Bradley and Jimmy Buffett, who were both wearing rings," he tells Maxim of the 1997 decision.

"Afterward," Ford said, "I walked down Madison Avenue till I found the first jewelry store that pierced ears."

Ford's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hits the big screen May 22.

He said it wasn't tough stepping back into the role after nearly 20 years.

"The costume still fit, which was encouraging," he told Reader's Digest. "And the character came back with the clothes. I think some trace of Indiana still resides in that leather jacket, hat, and whip."

At 65, Ford has plenty of action off-screen as well, helping girlfriend Calista Flockhart, 43, raise her adopted son, Liam. (See Hollywood's most shocking age differences here.)

Asked how Flockhart rates as a mother, he said she's "the best in the world. She's devoted herself to Liam and has done a really wonderful job raising him. I'm happy to now have a part of the job."

Harrison Ford's Indy Love

Harrison Ford prefers playing Indiana Jones to Han Solo.

The actor - who reprises his role as the daredevil archaeologist in new movie - 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - thinks Indy is more interesting than the 'Star Wars' character that catapulted him to fame.

Ford said: "Han Solo's not so interesting to me - he's a very narrow utility in the story. It was great for my career and I had fun at the time, but I won't go back there. His outfit was not good!"

Ford starred in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy as intergalactic smuggler and Rebel Alliance member Han Solo, alongside Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

He then went on to be cast as leading character Indy in the adventure series.

Both Indiana Jones and Han Solo are regarded as iconic screen characters in their respective genres.

Crap. Every time his thread pops up I expect it to be the "split" announcement.

Instead, it's nothing but all this happy horseshit about Indiana Jones.

WE ARE ALL GOING TO SEE IT - you can shut up already, Harrison.

Carrie Fisher's Harrison Hint

'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher has hinted she had an affair with co-star Harrison Ford.

The actress - who is best known for her role as Princess Leia in three 'Star Wars' movies - has suggested she got very close to Ford while they were filming the sci-fi trilogy, after decades of rumors.

Appearing on forthcoming British TV show 'Bring back... Star Wars', she said: "I went on the film saying, 'I'm going to have an affair', like it was a kiwi, an exotic fruit - because I had never had one."

The 51-year-old actress added: "I'm going to get into so much trouble. Once, I left the room and came back and Harrison was in the closet not wearing a lot of clothes! I had a crush on Harrison for sure. Harrison is great fun when he has had a few drinks."

The three original 'Star Wars' films starring Fisher and Ford were made between 1977 and 1983.

Fisher has since become a top screenwriter, while Ford is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood history. Fisher says this caused a degree of tension on set between Ford and leading man Mark Hamill, who played 'Star Wars' hero Luke Skywalker.

She said: "Harrison had this enormous career by the second or third film, that was tough for Mark Hamill. He was like, 'This wasn't supposed to happen - it's the adventures of Luke Skywalker'."

Ford stars in 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', which opens at cinemas worldwide this summer.
