I remember TC's infamous quote "look where her career is", well she seems to be doing just fine. She's 40 and still working in the industry. She's a success! So Tom, hows Katie's career and yours?

     :lol:It is astounding how pleased this makes me. Too bad, so sad. TC, what goes around comes around, and you seem to be wallowing in SH*T.

Cruise Sacked Over Shields Comments

Tom Cruise was allegedly sacked by Paramount over previous criticism of Brooke Shields' use of post-natal anti-depressants. Paula Fortunato, the wife of Paramount boss Sumner Redstone, was enraged when she heard Cruise's comments on live TV, and warned her 83-year-old husband that the star's Scientology-inspired tirade is offputting to female fans. Redstone said last week: "As much as we like him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal. His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount." The movie mogul originally hinted his decision was largely because of Cruise's bizarre antics on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Today. But insiders from Paramount's parent company Viacom claim Redstone's 43-year-old wife has great influence on the decisions of her husband. Viacom spokesman Carl Folta says, "It is true that Mrs. Redstone disagrees with Tom Cruise's views, but she and Mr. Redstone see every Paramount film."

Brooke Shields & Katie Holmes: New B.F.F.s

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 01, 2006 08:50AM EST

Despite her very public battle with Tom Cruise, when Brooke Shields met up with his fiancée, Katie Holmes, at a charity event in Pacific Palisades, Calif., Oct. 29, the two "were so lovely to each other," an onlooker tells PEOPLE in its new issue.

Perhaps that's because they go way back – to the September premiere of Grey's Anatomy, at least, which they watched together in Shields's living room. (After Cruise slammed Shields for using medication to treat her postpartum depression, he famously apologized in August.)

Coincidentally, the two new moms gave birth – Shields, 41, to her second daughter, Grier, and Holmes, 27, to daughter Suri – on the same day, April 18, and at the same L.A. hospital.

The two are "absolutely" friends, Shields told Access Hollywood at the Pacific Palisades event, which benefited Hands of Change, an employment and mentoring program for women. "You never know how life is going to bring people together."

NY DAILY NEWS

A Brooke boost for Brit

Brooke Shields is offering her support for Britney Spears.

The actress and former model has two daughters with her husband, Chris Henchy. She wrote movingly about her personal experience with post-natal depression in "Down came the Rain." at the Reebok Freestyle party at culture club on Thursday night, she told reporters: "I only wish the best for britney, and I hope she gets all the help she needs."

It has been theorized that Spears' recent rough patch may be depression combined with the stress of the breakup of her marriage.

Sometimes Perez Hilton is such a jerk. You can tell he's got no children of his own:

Quote of the Day

Posted Image

"24/7 with the kids? I don't know how people do it. If my main job was just to be with the two of them, I would not be as effective. I would be short-tempered; I would be less appreciative. Some people just revel in it, and that's beautiful. I revel in a different way."

- Brooke Shields tells the new issue of LIFE, available in newspapers across America on Friday, March 23rd.

And, seriously, what is wrong with this? I know darn well she is not the only mother on the planet who feels this way (look around your neighborhood on the first day of school!) -- and so what? I am sure Perez adores being with himself 24/7/365, so maybe he just doesn't get it. I'm not willing to give him any credit by assuming he was being sarcastic.

I love my kids, and I truly go above and beyond what society expects to provide for them. I move heaven and earth for those kids. But you know what? I don't like being around them 24/7. I don't like being around theemperor 24/7. I am shocked that someone like Perez would support a backward-assed idea like expecting all mothers to devote themselves selflessly to their kids 24/7. I think that attitude sends a really bad message to the children (talk about a sense of entitlement!), not to mention the fact that all kinds of other attitudes that most of us no longer support come from the Happy Homemaker era. <_<

I'm sorry. I don't know what got into me. Maybe I need a vacation. :(

Ugh, I hate that man more than ever!

I saw a clip on the Today show earlier this week as I was on my way out the door--mothers today actually spend more time with their kids than mothers 20-30 years ago did. Back when I was a kid (30 years ago) we actually had to be able to entertain ourselves--our moms had their OWN lives and weren't our toys or our playmates (except on special occasions)....Geez.....

Can you tell I don't have kids? <_<

Well, I do (parent) and I agree. I don't work outside of the house and as much as I cried when my son started kindergarten this year... I also relish the alone time. Maybe I'll feel different when he's in school full time next year.

I agree too. I have a 3 year old who I am with all the time. Yes, sometimes I am completely worn out, but I would never want to hand over caretaking of her for one second, except I am lucky enough to have my parents nearby to watch during doctors app'ts, etc. But I do enjoy the 2 days a week she is in preschool. I does give me a couple of hours to get some stuff done on my own :)

Brooke Shields Is Being Slowly Hypnotized

Filed under: Brooke Shields , Tom Cruise

This is the longest apology I've ever witnessed. Either that or it's some sort of crazy new friendship that no one could ever have seen coming - spacegod worshipping, closeted, A-list control freak criticizes and then befriends B-list actress . Maybe she's teaching him that it's not all about Xenu? Oh, who am I kidding? Brooke and her husband are doomed.

Antidepressant expert Tom Cruise and his friend Brooke Shields were betting their blues away in Sin City. Sources tell The Post's Braden Keil that Cruise and his wife, Katie Holmes, dined with Shields and her TV-writer husband, Chris Henchy, Saturday night in the SW Steakhouse at Wynn Las Vegas. Later, Cruise, who once blasted Shields for using pharmaceutical drugs to cope with postpartum depression, was escorted with her and their spouses to a private gaming room.

Were they were exposed to a series of flashing lights and given post-hypnotic suggestions. Seriously though, isn't Cruise a little desperate for everyone to think he's a nice guy? Brooke Shields must be like "uh, sure we'll go to Vegas with you, Tom.." and then she puts her hand over the receiver and turns to her husband..*whispering fiercely* "he wants to take us to Vegas! I don't care if he's scary, maybe I'll get a role out of this! SHUT UP!...*back to phone* oh no, Tom. I was just yelling at the gardener...."

Brooke Shields Promotes Research into Postpartum Depression

As a very well-known sufferer of postpartum depression thanks to Tom Cruise, Brooke Shields took her cause to Capitol Hill to let people know the hardest part she's ever played is the role of new mom.

Brooke Shields joined lawmakers at a news conference this morning to introduce the mothers act in the senate. The legislation would initiate the use of new federal investments to promote postpartum depression education, detection and treatment programs for new moms.

Actress and Activist, Brooke Shields say, "And the knowledge of postpartum is a tool that I believe all women deserve. And this bill represents that tool. And it's an easy gift to give to women everywhere."

Shields says she just thought she was a bad mother and would have been spared that misery had someone warned her about the illness.

At a news conference, Shields was asked what she would say to people who don't believe post-partum depression is a treatable disease.

"Grow some ovaries, and then we'll talk," she said.

I couldn't have said it any better, Brooke.

Side Dish

Brooke Shields and Molly Sims joined in a baby shower for model-actress Bridget Moynahan in L.A. Not once did she mention the baby's father, New England Patriot Tom Brady. A source tells US Weekly she did joke "that she wanted to be picked up on a chair and have everyone sing ‘Hava Nagila.'" Meanwhile, we spotted Brady strolling hand in hand with current girlfriend Gisele Bundchen in the West Village. Speaking of Bundchen, don't believe talk that she's going to be modeling lingerie for H&M. We hear she's locked into her contract with Victoria's Secret till 2008.

Brooke Wants Her Girls Picture Perfect

A source reveals, “Brooke Shields has a monthly photo session with a professional photographer who memorializes every bit of growth. Brooke seems a bit odd that way, always thinking that she may not be around forever. She wants the girls to always know who she was to them.”

Brooke Shields's Daughter: Jealous of Hannah Montana

Like most little girls, Brooke Shields's 4-year-old daughter, Rowan Henchy, "is obsessed with Hannah Montana," her mom tells PEOPLE.

The difference is, the tot actually got to rub shoulders with Miley Cyrus, who plays the Disney Channel heroine – because Shields guest-starred on an episode in which she plays the title character's deceased mom, who comes back from the dead to comfort Miley/Hannah.

Rowan, whose dad is Shields's husband, TV writer-producer Chris Henchy, "was so excited she got to go to a taping of it," Shields, 42, said at a dinner hosted by Julianne Moore and Coach leather goods president Reed Krakoff for artist Hunt Slonem and his book Pleasure Palaces.

But, as the cameras turned at the taping, Shields's line of dialogue was, "It's okay, baby girl" – which just happens to be the private term of endearment Shields uses for Rowan.

To make matters worse, Rowan witnessed her mom give a hug to Cyrus, prompting Rowan to stand up in the studio audience and shout, "Nooooo ... That's my mama for real life!"

Only leave it to mom to make all things right. Come a break in the filming, Shields was able to bring Rowan down to meet Cyrus in person to hug it out.

"Miley was so-o-o sweet," said Shields, who added that the 14-year-old star told Rowan, "It was so nice for you to let me borrow your mom for today."

Responded Rowan firmly, just so there was no mistake about it: "It's okay, but she's my mama for real life."

Brooke Shields Drives Into Her Own House

Brooke Shields says she accidentally remodeled her house – by crashing into it.

"I really did drive into my house," the actress, 42, tells Extra when it caught up with her at a New York event to announce her extended partnership with Tupperware's Chain of Confidence, a campaign that encourages women and young girls to celebrate the bonds of female friendships and the confidence that instills.

"I was wearing these fabulous sort of kick-ass platform patent leather [heels]," Shields said of her incident. "I was meeting the team at [her upcoming, midseason TV show] Lipstick Jungle [and] I was all sexed out."

Letting out a laugh, she added, "I slowed down to what I thought was a proper speed. ... I went to go put my foot on the brake, and I couldn't get my foot off the gas because the wedge was completely wedged under."

Then came the tricky moment: "I slammed on what I thought was the brake, and it actually was the gas!"

A pillar ended up damaged. "I was fine," says Shields. "The pillar, of course, was removed – at which point I was like, we didn't really need that, that's just in the way."

She's not feeling post-partum again, is she?
