Maybe this loss will teach Eddie to stop making films like Norbit. There's no reason to keep making crap like that. -_-

Eddie Storms Out After Loss

Monday February 26, 2007

Is Eddie Murphy a sore loser? After failing to nab the award for Best Supporting Actor to Little Miss Sunshine’s Alan Arkin, Murphy tried to brush off the loss, telling Us, "It's fine. It happens. It's OK."

But clearly it wasn't. Shortly thereafter Murphy, 45, and girlfriend Tracey Edmonds left the show in a huff and didn’t return. Thanks to the early exit, the actor didn’t see any of his Dreamgirls castmates perform and missed out on costar Jennifer Hudson’s win for Best Supporting Actress.

Are you kidding me??? No wonder he lost! Nice attitude. Where's the sportsmanship? Good god, 3/4 of that audience was full of losers and they certainly didn't bolt after they lost. I saw Jackie Earle Haley, Mark Walhberg, Abigail Breslin, Penelope Cruz, Meryl Streep, etc. still bolted in their seats after they lost. Martin Scorsese, the Susan Lucci of Oscars finally got his last night after how many times? And let's not mention Bill Condon, who directed Dreamgirls, got snubbed and STILL was there to cheer on the Dreamgirls nominees.

As for Arkin, I'm happy he won, although this clearly was for his body of work. He's an amazing actor. I remember years ago, I watched "Wait Until Dark," on TV (he plays a thief who terrorizes a blind Audrey Hepburn--he was chilling) and he scared the bejesus out of me. I also remember seeing him in a lot of other movies and always marveled at how good he was. In LMS, his part is small but memorable. I loved when he tells Steve Carrell about how he wants to get a raunchy porn mag, "nothing airbrushed" and then when he gives him money to get the mag, adds, "And buy yourself a fag rag (Carrell's character is gay) when you're at it."

Great speech. Class act. It's a shame Eddie couldn't emulate that.

I was joking with my son that he was upset about losing and must have walked out simply because I didn't see him in the audience any longer. I didn't know that he actually HAD walked out!

As someone else said, I'm even happier Arkin won now.

Ever seen "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter"? The film used to come on TV regularly when I was growing up. Amazingly sad and beautiful film based on a novel(la) by Carson McCullers (which I subsequently tracked down and read, but I enjoyed the film more) and he was wonderful in it (along with a very young Sondra Locke and pretty much everyone else in the cast). I think that was his last nomination (1968) from what I read.

The fact that Eddie bolted after losing, is the precise reason he didn't win the award. From what I've been reading, Hollywood doesn't like him b/c he's an arrogant prick.

Compare Eddie to Peter O'Toole who was seen at the post Oscar party at 1:30 am dancing away. That's a good sport and someone who has some perspective.

I saw "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" on TV when I was a teenager and for years it was my favorite film. His performance in that movie is heartbreaking. Even though this obviously was a win for his body of work, it was long overdue.

Damage control alert!!!!

Eddie Murphy Not a Sore Loser?

Eddie Murphy left his seat at the Kodak Theatre after losing the Best Supporting Actor Oscar (for Dreamgirls) to Little Miss Sunshine's Alan Arkin – but his rep says the comedian would have done the same thing even if he'd won.

"Eddie had always planned on leaving after his category was announced to spend the rest of the evening with his family," says rep Arnold Robinson, adding, "He did the same thing following the Golden Globe Awards." (Murphy did win at the Globes.)

Reports that Murphy stormed out of the auditorium after losing circulated widely on the Internet after the show. Both Page Six and TMZ.com report that star was being "a sore loser" after the upset. (Murphy was considered by many to be the favorite to win the category.)

But the actor, who was accompanied at the show by his girlfriend Tracey Edmonds, didn't exactly make a hasty exit. After they left their seats the couple were spotted just outside the theater doors in heavy conversation – and in a group hug – with studio head Harvey Weinstein.

I call total bullshit on this. JHud's category wasn't presented yet and the girls performance wasn't done at this point either. If this is true, he could at least stayed for that. I still vote sore loser

I believe this --but only because he thought he would be celebrating a win with his family -- not going to a wake.

Johnny Gill is PRACTICALLY family, isn't he? Ditto the bullshit. I'm glad he lost.

Sorry to drag this slightly off topic again but glad to see someone else loves the film. I checked it on IMDB after I posted and there are lots of people there who have discovered it recently and wrote wonderful reviews. I was reading an article the other day about the raft of great films out there that you just never see any more on TV and this would be one of them. Maybe I need to get a DVD player...

Oscar Fug Carpet: Tracey Edmonds

Posted Image

In the end, Tracey Edmonds turned out to be Eddie Murphy's most necessary accessory on Oscar night. When he peered into her reflective sternum after he lost and realized he wasn't a good enough actor to hide the burning, seething, frothing rage shooting like lasers from his eyes and nostrils, he quickly hightailed it out of the Kodak Theater lest the producers spend the rest of the evening gleefully cutting to furious closeups during everyone else's golden moments.

Unfortunately for Tracey, she was the one stuck wearing the thing, which managed to give her the illusion of flesh rolls she almost certainly doesn't really have. So really, neither of them were winners here.

During a recent phone interview with Chicago's Power 92, Tracey Edmonds addressed the gay/downlow rumors surrounding her boyfriend, Eddie Murphy: Edmonds said she doesn’t concern herself with talk of Murphy being gay, or supposedly carrying on a down low relationship with singer, Johnny Gill.

"Anytime you get to a certain point in your career somebody always has to put a gay rumor on you,” Edmonds added, according to Kendra G. “Eddie and Johnny have been friends for 20 years, I have been around them so the whole gay thing is BS."

EDDIE MURPHY: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY?

Birthdays after forty are never easy, but Eddie Murphy woke up to a double whammy today. Not only did he turn 46, but he might have become a father again, against his will.

Eddie's exgirlfriend Melanie Brown gave birth to a baby girl in Santa Monica just after midnight. She claims Eddie is the father, but Eddie isn't so sure - he wants a DNA test.

The baby hasn't been named yet - maybe Mel is waiting to see if Eddie has a change of heart and comes to visit them.

We think it's an amazing coincidence that the baby was born on Eddie's birthday. DNA rules.

'Scary Spice' Melanie Brown Names Her Baby

By Pete Norman

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has named her new daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown, PEOPLE has confirmed. (nicknamed "cha-ching" for short) :D

The child, born on April 3, is named in part after Eddie Murphy, whom Brown, 31, says is the baby's father. Murphy, 46, has said he wants a paternity test.

"Melanie spent a while deciding on the baby's name," a friend of the singer tells PEOPLE. "It was inspired by a number of things."

On Tuesday, Brown, who lives in Los Angeles, explained the name in a brief statement released through her London reps.

"Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy," she said. "Iris, as it's my grandma's name, Murphy because he's the dad and Brown because I'm the mum!"

Angel Iris is the second child for the former Scary Spice. She has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, with her ex-husband, dancer Jimmy Gulzar.

In March, Murphy's new girlfriend, film producer Tracey Edmonds, told Chicago's Power 92 radio station of Murphy: "There'll be a paternity test and if it's his then he'll be responsible."

April 25, 2007 -- MELANIE Brown (a k a Scary Spice, above) was in "complete shock" when Eddie Murphy told a reporter he wanted DNA proof before acknowledging he'd impregnated her. "There was a sea of photographers. There were people shouting about a DNA test . . . I tried to call Eddie, and I couldn't get through. Then I got through, and he said he would call me back, and that was it. He never called back," Brown tells OK! magazine, which also has the first photos of her daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. "I don't feel humiliated. I think the only person who has humiliated themselves is Eddie. His behavior was unacceptable." Their next meeting might be in a courtroom. "We both know this is his baby," Brown told OK! "If he wants to do a DNA test, do it. Step up to the plate and be responsible. I have no doubt that this is Eddie's baby. Maybe one day Eddie will tell me why this happened. I am now more confident and grounded than I have ever been. I feel pretty amazing."

Mel B's lesbian flings and the real reason Eddie Murphy dumped her

Mel B still loves ex-flame Eddie Murphy and is desperate to rekindle their romance, according to her best friend.

Christa Parker also admits to enjoying a lesbian fling with the singer.

Scroll down for more

Before the split: Shortly after announcing the pregnancy Murphy humiliated the ex-singer by dumping her on television and denying he was the father of her unborn child

In an interview which lifts the lid on Mel's colourful life in LA, friend Christa told Closer magazine the star seduced her after a drunken night out not long after they met.

After the event, Christa said she was too embarrassed to talk to her friend about what happened and never mentioned it again.

Christa also revealed that, despite being publicly dumped by Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy, whose baby she gave birth to three weeks ago, the former Spice Girl would take him back.

Murphy claims he is not the father to her daughter Angel Iris Murphy-Brown, who was born on his birthday, April 3, and has demanded a paternity test.

Christa Parker, who has been Mel B's closest confidante during the last three years, told British publication Closer: "Mel admitted to me she would always love Eddie.

"Even after the way he has treated her and snubbed his own daughter, I think Mel would still take him back." Scroll down for more

Mel was pictured kissing a woman identified as film executive Christine back in 2004

According to Christa, Mel had a two-year lesbian relationship with a film executive called Christine, she was pictured kissing in 2004.

At the time Mel said "people can call me lesbian, bisexual or heterosexual, but I know who's in my bed and that's it - I have huge libido and a great sex life."

Mel was introduced to the film star by a mutual friend at a house party in Los Angeles in June last year.

The pair became inseparable after and within weeks of meeting were reported to have discussed marriage.

After meeting him, Mel was besotted with the Nutty Professor star and said to friend Christa "there was an instant attraction when she and Eddie met and she knew it was something special".

The couple were inseperable and Mel spent much of her time at Eddie's Hollywood mansion, but cracks began to emerge early in the relationship says Christa:

"Eddie was paranoid because of the 15-year age difference between them and he was afraid she was going to leave him,"

In August, Mel called Christa and announced that she was pregnant. "She was delighted. She hadn't told Eddie yet, but when she did she told me he was over the moon."

But the joy didn't last for long, Eddie and Mel had a huge row after he refused to accompany her to a routine baby scan, he then informed her that she wasn't invited to a huge black tie event that he was attending, Mel responded by moving her belongings out of his home.

Christa told Closer: "I think that by walking out and staying away she thought Eddie might come to his senses and they would get back together.

Actress Elizabeth Rodriguez, another close friend of Mel's revealed that the former Spice Girl turned to voodoo in a bid to win back 46-year-old Murphy.

Elizabeth accompanied the singer to L'Ermitage hotel in Los Angeles to act as translator to a Spanish voodoo priestess called Tabitha.

"Mel asked me to come along because she knew I had an interest in voodoo and could speak Spanish to help her communicate with Tabitha.

"Mel was totally into it. In one ritual she had to write down the names of people involved in her troubles and put the paper, a pair of Eddie's boxers, her knickers as well as a photo of themselves all in jar and bury it," says Elizabeth.

But it soon became clear that Eddie had no plans to return to Mel. She was crushed when, in a live TV interview, Eddie said: "I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test."

Mel released an official statement which declared that there was "absolutely no question that Eddie is the father."

Eddie then attended the premiere of his movie Dreamgirls with a new love, Tracey Edmonds and announced that they had been together "for about a month a half."

Christa says that Mel is devastated that Eddie has not been in touch since the birth of Angel. "Mel was upset that Eddie didn't get in touch, She obviously still feels something.

"But she loves her daughter and is determined to make the best of things, with or without Eddie in her life."

Mel recently posed with her new daughter for an exclusive shoot with OK! Magazine. She told OK! that she'd named her daughter "Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy... Iris, as it's my grandma's name, Murphy because he's the dad and Brown because I'm the mum!".

Scary Spice Ain't Playin' 2: Bringin' In The Lawyers

Filed under: Eddie Murphy , Melanie B

Posted Image

Mel B. is taking Eddie Murphy to court, and claiming that he's refusing to take a paternity test . Why would you refuse to take it if you know the kid's not yours, Mr. Go On Dutch Television And Claim It? Wow, I should be her lawyer.

Melanie Brown, who welcomed her second daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, last month, says she's taking ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy to court to force him to take a paternity test.

"He's not doing a DNA test and he's not signing the birth certificate," Brown told PEOPLE Tuesday at a party for the U.S. launch of the BOOTS beauty brand in Hollywood. "So it's going to have to go to court so he can be forced to do it, which is strange since he was the one asking for it."

Brown, 31, who has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix, with her ex-husband, has long maintained that Murphy, 46, is her new baby's father, although he told a Dutch TV show in December: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."

Mel says that Eddie hasn't seen his alleged daughter, and her people have contacted his people to no avail. Eddie better find the best transsexual litigator money can buy. You know that's how he rolls.

I bet Eddie's thrilled! This is the first time in ages that anyone has accused him of having hetero sex... He's going to draw out this paternity suit as long as he can.
