Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones

I agree that he was hot once upon a time (like 20 years ago). And now...not at all. I guess it all happened when he became Grandma...

When she first hit the scene, she was reported to be youmger than me and I was shocked. Then within a few years she was suddenly older than me. It was very odd. But really - where are the high school year books. They have them in Wales, right? Can't someone just show her big bushy eyebrowed photos and come clean with it?

I think she dropped out of school and went to work in theater when she was very young so that kind of proof may be hard to come by. However, even back then she was rumored to be shaving years off of her age. She convinced people that she was a precociously talented young teen when she was years older and far more experienced. I'm not sure what would account for the first-she's-younger and then-she's-older thing. I mean, obviously she plays games with her age but that sounds like she got caught doing it. ;)

They say she was busted for it at the White House. The same people say the same thing about Sharon Stone. You can fool most of the people most of the time but you can't fool the United States Secret Service. ;)

Ted mentioned CZJ showing her true age in today's column. Wasn't there a BI a few years ago about an actress that was 10 years older than what she claimed? Can't find it but know I saw it. I think many people thought it was CZJ.

Both CZJ and Sharon Stone shave off about 10 years. I remember the BI you're talking about but I can't remember which 10-years-older chick was the answer.

LOL! Sharon Stone allegedly turned 50 this week. I couldn't stop laughing. She's got to be over 55 for sure. Well preserved, but older nonetheless.

CZJ is probably in her late 40's.

I also cracked up at Stone's turning "50" this week. Honey, please. Her first nosejob is 50.

Great surgeon she's using these days, you have to give her that. (Or she's slowly sucking the lifeblood out of those three aryan boys she adopted. I don't think I want to know.)

With CZJ, I agree with you on her age. Her surgeon's not as good as Sharon's. ;) You know, I can't help but like the set of balls on Mrs. Douglas. I know she's a greedy cow and I don't usually admire people who get to the top on something other than talent. With CZJ it's different. She's so blatantly opportunistic and shady that I kind of dig it. She's an old-school bitch and she got her shit the old fashioned way - she earned it (sometimes on her knees). Plus, she always dresses. You won't catch her going out looking like half-baked hell. (Well, okay, some pap's probably caught her at some point but it's rare. At least she's trying.)

Anyway, she nabbed an Oscar based on average beauty, average skill and average smarts. Well, that and hard work. CZJ's lazy but she will actually work when it's necessary. From what she started with, she's done remarkably well. She must be able to suck the chrome off a bumper. ;)

Zeta-Jones to star in Freundlich rom-com

By Gregg Goldstein

March 20, 2008

NEW YORK -- Catherine Zeta-Jones will star in Bart Freundlich's new May-December romantic comedy for Mark Gill and Neil Sacker's Film Dept. production outfit.

In the untitled feature, Zeta-Jones will play a single New York City mom who captures the eye of her new neighbor, a 25-year-old man. The project seems to mirror real life for the 38-year-old Freundlich, who's married to the 47-year-old Julianne Moore.

The film is set to shoot April 17, and casting hasn't been finalized for the male lead.

Tim Perell, Freundlich, Gill and Robert Katz are producing under the Process production banner. Sacker and Michael Goguen are the executive producers.

The film is one of the first for president Steve Bickel's Film Department Int'l, which will unveil its debut lineup at May's Festival de Cannes, along with the upcoming thriller "Law Abiding Citizen" starring Gerard Butler and other titles.

It also marks one of the first big deals for Cinetic Media's new management division headed by Bart Walker, who reps Freundlich and Perell.

Romantic comedies are old hat to both star and writer-director. Zeta-Jones starred in "Intolerable Cruelty" and "No Reservations," while Freundlich helmed "Trust the Man" starring Moore.

The Film Dept.'s Dan Stutz negotiated the deals with Freundlich and Perell's reps Walker, Management 360's Evelyn O'Neill and attorneys Ira Schreck and Joe Dapello, as well as Zeta-Jones' reps WMA and attorneys Sam Fischer and P.J. Shapiro.

Well, shit, I for one want to believe she's no older then say . . . . 44, because if she's older and Stone is really 55, then I look . . . . . well, dam it ~ let's just say I look a hell of alot older then what I am! <_<

As far as I'm concerned, they can both carry on with the lies! :)

When she was 15 - according to her rewritten online bios - she was starring in West End musicals, playing the adult female leads. Yeah, right. She was in her early twenties. Here is an example of how she knocks a few years off (from her Tiscali bio):

She says that even at 12 she looked 22, and would go to clubs with the blessing of her trusting parents.

Lol!

I like her though. A real diva bitch. Sick of these girl-next-door types.

Zeta-Jones in romantic mood for Freundlich

Reuters

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Catherine Zeta-Jones will star as a single New York City mom in Bart Freundlich's not-yet-titled May-December romantic comedy.

Zeta-Jones' character captures the eye of her new neighbor, a 25-year-old man. The project seems to mirror an aspect of real life for the 38-year-old Freundlich, who's married to Julianne Moore, nine years his senior.

The film is set to shoot April 17, and casting hasn't been finalized for the male lead.

Romantic comedies are familiar territory for both the star and the writer-director. Zeta-Jones starred in "Intolerable Cruelty" and "No Reservations," while Freundlich helmed "Trust the Man," starring Moore.

Catherine and Michael's Glamorous Getaway!

OK!

Catherine Zeta-Jones and her hubby, Michael Douglas, are definitely what you'd call a Hollywood "power couple." And on April 5, the two got some serious royal treatment when they attended the opening of Nikki Beach Resort & Spa in Turks and Caicos.

First, the couple arrived by police escort, where they were brought to their $4,500 a night penthouse, which included three bedrooms, a full kitchen, Bulgari bath amenities and a private butler.

Later that evening, Catherine, 38,and Michael, 63, attended Nikki Beach's White Party. "She was dancing and sipping champagne," a witness tells OK!. The actress also chatted with celebrity attendees Star Jones and Vivica A. Fox, but seemed distracted by the entertainment: men spinning wheels of fire.

After a relaxing brunch the next day at Nikki Cafe, the couple jet-setted home.

Ahh, the good life!

Um.... Star Jones is definitely a "celebrity" worth noting? So they could only get the Douglasses, Star Jones and Vivica A. Fox? Sounds to me like Catherine and Michael aren't so much of a power couple anymore. ;)

Zeta-Jones Gym Break

Actress CATHERINE ZETA-JONES had a section of a New York gym shut down for her - so she could take a break while shooting new movie THE REBOUND.

The 38-year-old stars in the forthcoming romantic comedy alongside Justin Bartha, in which she plays a divorcee struggling to keep up with her new, younger boyfriend.

And Zeta-Jones was reportedly so tired during filming, she had the cardio room of the Club H Fitness gym closed off just for her, so she could rest in between takes.

A source tells New York gossip column PageSix, "She was so beat (tired), in between scenes she’d lie down on the massage table in the middle of the gym.

"But they’d tell her she had to be back on set right away."

CZJ's Kids Think Daddy Makes Pancakes For A Living!

Posted Image

When you're as rich and famous as Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, you have to keep life as normal for your kids as you can, unless you want a houseful of miniature primma donnas.

But it sounds like those two may have overdone it just a little on the 'we're nothing special' front.

In an interview with Britain's The Sun newspaper, CZJ says that multi-Oscar winner Michael is so convincing in the role of 'Average Dad' that their kids, Dylan, 7, and Cerys, 5, think he's a professional pancake-maker!

"Michael makes excellent pancakes. He’s pretty good at waffles, too," the Welsh actress told the paper.

"Dylan was doing occupations at school recently and the teacher said, ‘You have to go home and ask Mummy and Daddy what they do.’

“So we were trying to explain to Dylan that we make movies and he went to Michael, ‘Hang on. Mama makes movies, you make pancakes!’ So my two-time Oscar-winning husband with a career of 40 years looks at me and says, ‘Oh, it’s come to that!’”

Michael Douglas enjoys a long, long lunch with Catherine Zeta-Jones... then flakes out

By Emily Sheridan

Last updated at 9:46 AM on 01st August 2008

An afternoon of good food, good wine, blazing sunshine and a stunning wife on his arm proved too much for Michael Douglas yesterday.

After a long, wine-filled lunch with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and a few close friends, the Wall Street actor appeared to struggle to keep upright at the table.

Dressed down in a T-shirt and shorts, it appeared the combination of alcohol and humidity had left the Oscar-winning actor a tad weary.

Something funny Catherine? The actress laughs as husband Michael buries his head on her shoulder after a long lunch yesterday in Portofino, Italy

As his glamorous wife Catherine, 38, laughed and talked with their male companions, Michael looked increasingly worse for wear as the meal wore on.

By the time everyone had finished eating, the 63-year-old had fallen asleep on the Chicago actress' shoulder.

The millionaire pair have been cruising the Mediterranean this week on a yacht and after starting their trip off in St Tropez, the pair moved on to Portofino, Italy.

After their lengthy lunch, the couple retreated to their luxury yacht where Michael soon crashed out on one of the comfy sofas.

A kiss before snoozing: Michael snuggles up to Catherine

Rather sensibly given his slightly sunburnt face, Michael threw a towel over his face to protect his sun from the 82 degree heat.

The Mediterranean cruise is proving the perfect chance for the couple to enjoy some alone time, after they presumably have left their two children Dylan, seven; and Carys, five, at home with relatives.

Michael and Catherine, who have been married for over seven years, are enjoying a well-earned break after both filmed a string of movies over the past year.

The actor has a completed a succession of films due out for next year, including The Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past and Beyond A Reasonable Doubt.

Meanwhile, Catherine recently wrapped romantic comedy The Rebound and has another three projects lined up, including a biopic of late Hollywood bombshell Lana Turner.

Maybe Michael SHOULD stick to making pancakes.

He looks like a very good host to me--I wouldn't mind attending a luncheon on their yacht ;)

DAMN THE ECONOMY, BRING ON THE ART AUCTION

DIANDRA Douglas, ex-wife of Michael Douglas, is trying to bring art to the masses despite the flailing economy. Tonight, Douglas is co-chairing the MUSE Film and Television gala at the Paul Kasmin Gallery on 10th Avenue. She told Page Six, "There will be a silent auction of really wonderful art. These are great works for less money than a gallery would sell them for, and a great chance to collect art." Also at the event will be Caroline Kennedy, Penny Marshall, Henry Kissinger and Donna Karan. As for her ex and his new wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Diandra notes, "They might stop by after their political engagements."

Catherine Zeta-Jones to star in "Cleo"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Catherine Zeta-Jones is going back to the boards.

The Welsh actress, who won an Oscar for her supporting turn as the scheming Velma Kelly in "Chicago," is set to star in "Cleo," a period musical to be directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to take a lead role in a retelling of the story of Cleopatra, Antony and Caesar set in the 1920s (also the era of "Chicago's" shenanigans).

Joseph Mankiewicz co-wrote and directed the most famous "Cleopatra," the 1963 historical epic that starred Elizabeth Taylor, Rex Harrison and Richard Burton. It was hugely expensive and considered a flop but was ultimately nominated for best picture and won four Oscars.

Soderbergh is developing a Liberace biopic, with Zeta-Jones' husband Michael Douglas attached to star.

"Che," the director's two-part Che Guevara biopic, will be released by IFC Films, and "The Informant," starring Matt Damon, will hit theaters in March. "Cleo" would be Soderbergh's first foray into musical features.

Zeta-Jones has the romantic comedy "The Rebound" coming out in January. She was in theaters last year with "No Reservations." Jackman will be in theaters next month with "Australia."

Everytime I saw their thread pop up before, I always wondered if it was divorce time. And now it's here!!

Don't they have a very tight pre-nup? If he cheats she gets more or something?

I kind of always assumed she was in charge of the relationship. I mean, come on. She's gorgeous, he's old and rich and very well connected. I don't think she loved him for even a second, and he's just a typical dirty old guy with a trophy wife.
