Rist also had to explain the sudden media attention to her 7-year-old son, who has idolized Woods since his mother got him an autographed golf club from the Grand Slam-winning legend. According to a person with knowledge of Woods’ hospital admission, the star golfer had to be admitted directly to the hospital’s intensive care unit, where he was immediately intubated and his breathing stabilized. Also, there’s clarification about the police interview with Woods’ neighbors, who called 911. At the time of the 911 call, neighbor Jarius Lavar Adams told dispatchers that Woods was asleep on the lawn, snoring. “Although the body can snore in any state of unconsciousness, it’s unlikely he was snoring,” said the source. “That was the sound of an airway that wasn’t stable. That’s part of the reason there was an intubation when he got to the hospital.” After Woods underwent treatment, he was extubated, then immediately released home. One physician from the hospital said that discharging a patient directly to his home after being admitted to the ICU was “highly unusual.” The doctor, who did not treat Woods, said standard protocol “usually involves some sort of step-down — if your condition is serious enough to be admitted to ICU, you don’t go straight home. It points to some extreme privacy measures being taken for that decision to be made.” Earlier Monday, a report from the Florida state Attorney’s office showed there was a request made for an investigative subpoena that would request blood results from Health Central Hospital. The request, which was ultimately denied, quotes a witness at the scene as saying Woods drank alcohol earlier in the day and was prescribed Ambien and Vicodin, and that impairment was suspected because of the careless driving that resulted in the crash. I have always thought that men don't care about it as long as they are A-skinny and B-bosomy. But these women are what we call Trash here in the south. And Tiger apparently has a problem; it's like he was totally out of control. I really don't care to hear him explain to Oprah about his poor self-esteem and racial issues and need for rehab. An unidentified woman was rushed from the mansion to the hospital early this morning, local news station WESH reports. Firefighters responded to a medical call at 2:38 a.m. ET. The woman was taken to Health Central Hospital where logs list her as an advanced life support patient. The NBC affiliate station aired footage of the blond woman receiving oxygen and being carried on a stretcher. A black Cadillac Escalade with tags similar to Tiger's was reportedly seen arriving at the hospital shortly after the 911 call. Health Central Hospital is where the embattled golfer was taken on Nov. 27 following his crash. Developing... Tiger Woods always loved playing with the big boys. He was 20 years old when he won his first professional golf tournament, in Las Vegas in 1996. By his late 20s it was well-known that he lost his amateur status at the gaming tables and nightclubs in Las Vegas. Based on the number of local female nightclub workers surfacing in the golf star's sex scandal, it would be easy to blame the bright lights of Las Vegas for his straying. But the signs were there well before he became a regular at the MGM Grand's ultra-exclusive Mansion, where high rollers can keep a low profile. Woods was 20 when he was caught playing blackjack with a fake ID in a riverboat casino in Bettendorf, Iowa, where he was playing in the Quad Cities Open. "He was playing here (in Las Vegas) right after he got out of Stanford," said a well-known local VIP host. "When he first started, he was at the $100 blackjack tables." That changed quickly when Woods began gambling with NBA greats and high-stakes gamblers Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. "That's when he started stepping it up. He started playing bigger and bigger." How big? "Really large. How about I just say Jordan's level?" the VIP host said. "He's definitely firing at Jordan and Barkley's level." Woods, the richest athlete in the world, hitting the $1 billion mark in career earnings last year, has a $1 million limit at The Mansion, meaning there's an understanding he would play at a $25,000-a-hand level. "And I'll tell you this, he's a really good blackjack player," winning $1 million in a night several times, the source said. About five or six years ago, I heard from a Woods friend that Woods, after losing about $300,000 at The Mansion, went to his room to get some sleep before an early-morning flight, only to return and recoup his losses and then some. On May 2, 2006, I received a tip from an insider that the staff at The Mansion had received word that Woods was in town. Late that night, I received an e-mail update: Woods had left the MGM Grand in a rush. His father, Earl, died hours later. About a year later, I got another tip: Woods had showed up late at The Mansion one night with a stunning woman who was not his wife and a male friend. The tipster said it raised a lot of eyebrows. "Are you going to run it?" he said. Probably not, I said. Could be a friend or the other guy's girlfriend. Someone called 911 from the golfer's Orlando-area mansion about 2:35 a.m. Barbro Holmberg was taken by ambulance to Health Central Hospital, where she was in stable condition later Tuesday, hospital spokesman Dan Yates said. He said her condition was not serious but he could not be more specific because of privacy laws. Holmberg, who arrived in the U.S. a few days ago, lives in Sweden and is the mother of Woods' wife, Elin. Health Central is the same hospital where Woods was treated after he crashed his sport utility vehicle outside his home last month. Yates said Holmberg was in a private room and the family has hired additional security to keep the media away. He said family members have visited her, but he wouldn't say who. "She's in a wing that helps protect her privacy," Yates said. The accident — and Woods' refusal to answer questions about it — fueled speculation about a possible dispute between him and Elin. Just days before the crash, a National Enquirer story alleged Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess, Rachel Uchitel, who has denied it. After the crash, Us Weekly reported that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress named Jaimee Grubbs claims she had a 31-month affair with Woods. Last week, Woods issued a statement saying he had let his family down with unspecified "transgressions" that he regrets with "all of my heart." He did not elaborate. A police report on the crash released Monday showed that a Florida trooper who suspected Woods was driving under the influence sought a subpoena for the golfer's blood results from the hospital he was taken to after the crash, but prosecutors rejected the petition for insufficient information. A witness, who wasn't identified in the report, told trooper Joshua Evans that Woods had been drinking alcohol earlier. The same witness also said Woods had been prescribed two drugs, Ambien and Vicodin. The report did not say who the witness was but added it was the same person who pulled Woods from the vehicle after the accident. Woods' wife, Elin, has told police that she used a golf club to smash the back windows of the Cadillac Escalade to help her husband out. His injuries were minor. The sister of a neighbor who called 911 after the crash told troopers that Holmberg and Woods' mother, were also at the scene, but the AP has not been able to confirm that. Eva Malmborg, a spokeswoman for Holmberg, said she could not comment on Tuesday's reports. Malmborg confirmed Holmberg had taken a week's leave from her job as Gavleborg county governor in central-east Sweden, but said she did not know where Holmberg had gone. There was no sign of emergency workers later Tuesday morning at the Woods' gated community, where luxury SUVs and cars drove in and out as a few reporters and television news trucks milled around outside. Gatorade said it did not drop the drink because of recent events in Tiger’s personal life, but according to Nielsen data, advertisers have not been airing Tiger Woods television commercials since shortly after the accident. Tiger Woods makes $100 million a year in winnings and mainly endorsements, from sponsors like AT&T (NYSE:T), Nike (NYSE:NKE), Procter & Gamble’s (NYSE:PG) Gillette, Accenture (NYSE:ACN), Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS), General Motors and Tag Heuer.
